This is a TWRP backup of the stock firmware for V510 GPE GPAD 8.3. They have already been updated. It is completely stock no mods, no root, no busybox. This should ensure that you are able to take future OTAs without issue. Many GPE users have been having problems with the OTAs. The reason is that the OTA does a system verification and any type of modification causes it to fail.
How to flash this:
1. Reboot into bootloader
2. Flash TWRP if you don't already have it. Current version is 2.8.1.0 fastboot flash recovery xxxxxxxxxxxxx.img (where xxxxx is the filename)
3. Reboot System
4. Copy the entire contents of the zip file to your TWRP/BACKUPS/LG0000XXXXXXXX folder. Make sure you copy the folder 2014-11-30--23-35-25 LRX21P.L004 or 2014-06-26--18-41-18 KTU84P.L002. If you don't have a backups folder, create one in TWRP by choosing Backup, then backup something like the boot partition.
5. Reboot to Recovery Vol Dwn+Pwr or adb reboot recovery.
6. Choose Restore and select 2014-11-30--23-35-25 LRX21P.L004 or 2014-06-26--18-41-18 KTU84P.L002
7. Once finished Reboot System.
8. Upon boot you should be greeted with the usual Setup screens.
9. Reboot into bootloader
10. (Optional for Kit Kat) Flash stock recovery: fastboot flash recovery 17-recovery.img
11. Reboot into system

Flashing the stock recovery is optional however if you want a completely stock experience and ensure future OTAs, you probably want to do so. Also note that you must unroot to take any future OTAs.
To reroot flash latest version of TWRP.

Agreed. I wasn't able to flash 4.4.4 any other way. Tried everything, kept getting errors. This finally worked!

Figured it will come in handy to have this online for everyone in the future...when I bought the device when it was announced thought there would be more dev on it...but that hasn't been the case. Luckily we at least have twrp.

When I flash this in twrp it fails to flash and i get an error message: No partitions selected for restore. Have twrp 2.7.0.1 installed. Thank you.

I was not able to update using your image and I don't know why. Everything was done correctly as far as I know. I downloaded and unpacked the zip and placed it in the back apps folder of TWRP and rebooted into recovery and tried restore with no success during the system restore it stops halfway through and says failed.
I tried downloading the file twice, installing the file from my computer, changing my SD card, deleting everything and trying, deleting just dalvik cache a,updating the partition separately, and was able to update the boot partition but not system and data. I honestly don't know what the trouble is as I was able to restore my own back up several times.if anybody has any insight into what is happening here please tell me. I would really like to install the update! I don't know why it is not allowing me to.

First off, I use solid explorer, dual pane. Very easy to navigate for me.
I only copied system. I didn't even wipe. All my data and settings were intact. As close to an OTA I could get. The system backup was 790.95mb
It sounds like you did everything right to me. I included a screen shot of what it looked like after i clicked the backup.zip and moved the unzipped backup to the TWRP backup folder.

im not sure if this would work
did u try restoring from the internal sd instead of external. as far as I know the backup file should have no issues.

Do I need to uninstall Xposed Framework, unroot, restore the stock kernel, etc., before restoring this system back up TWRP? I assume the answer is no, though I'll need to reinstall those afterward, but I figured I'd check first!
UPDATE: Never mind. I just went ahead and restored it successfully and am in the process of restoring my apps from TiBu now. Thanks again for providing this for those of us who couldn't upgrade to 4.4.4 any other way!

first off thank you for posting this tutorial, I was able to perform the backup0 and am currently on 4.4.4.
I did, however, run into a slight hiccup when I was trying to flash the stock recovery. I kept getting messages about partitions and so forth. I entered in the following commands from beginning to end:
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery 17-recovery.img
but as I said I can't get the job done lol.
Any ideas?

A few things to check:
you need to have usb debugging checked on phone
you need the recovery image in same folder as your fastboot.exe/adb files
you need to cd to that directory/folder

Which rom were you running when you rebooted into recovery?
Stock, so CM11s.
mine still is not good. i treid to reboot to get it to hold the no hardware buttons. didn't reboot. tried about 10 times. eventually booted intot this new recovery and reflashed rom and booted it up. it's a bloody weird looking boot- no boot animation- made me think it was screwed again.
did you have to do anything to get it working again? Wipe entire device or just data partition?
Working good here, but I had no issues with the official build. I have an international version, 64GB OPO.
It's nice to see some additional features added, though.
Just helping out, packaged in a flashable zip for those with current CWM or TWRP recoveries, tested and working, enjoy everyone.
Flashed with the zip in the post above, worked flawlessly, was able to backup my EFS partition which is what I was looking to do. Thanks!

Guys i wonder when you press efs restore is it
fastboot format modemst1 & st2
or
fastboot erase modemst1 & st2
or may be both? in that case in what order?
I flashed the one in OP, but the system does not see any partition ?
Can I flash 15th without bricking the phone

Delete the twrp.img......drag and drop the new img into the zip......dont uncompress the zip and compress it again.
Hi, first of all, my English is bad and i'm a noob at installing custom roms
My HOX+ is rooted and i have the TWRP Recovery installed.
So, i downloaded the newest CM11 Nightly for my device (enrc2b) from the Cyanogenmod site.
When i try to flash it with TWRP it says:
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. Please try another package or run a factory reset

I also downloaded a Snapshot version of CM11

So finally i downloaded the CM10.2.1 Version
I wiped all cache and data and did a factory reset.
After flashing the .zip and rebooting the phone, but i got stuck in a boot loop (i think) because i waited like 20 minutes but the boot animation didn't change (blue guy with the arrow). Did i do something wrong
I just restored my phone to the backup i made (stock rom)
If you need any information about my phone or something just say it.
I also heard about using CWM instead of TWRP but i don't know how to change it.

I'm working with a Mac so it might take a while before i understand everything but i'll let you know if it worked.
So yesterday i installed the CWM and flashed Cyanogenmod11 Nightlies at 00:10. I got the boot screen with the guy and the arrow spinning, but when i wake up at 7:00 it was still in the Cyanogenmod boot screen wit the arrow (the arrow was lagging).
So i tried flashing the Snapshot version and it also didnt pass the screen with the arrow (lagging)
After that i flashed the CM10.2 and the arrow wasnt lagging anymore but it didnt pass the screen with the arrow
Every time before i installed another version i did a Factory reset in CWM
So am i doing something wrong plz help?

you can find it inside the rom zip file, just extract it into your adb/fastboot folder and flash it (in fastboot mode) using "fastboot flash boot boot.img". also i recommend (maybe not necessary) using "fastboot erase cache" before and after flashing boot.img.
Also you may need to reflash rom in recovery after flashing boot.img.

Alright i did what u said and i have 1 more question;
If i want to go back to the stock rom, do i need to flash a "stock" boot.img?
Edit: Cyanogenmod is working, i only need to install the Google apps (i think).
Stock boot image
You can flash the Nik3r version to come back to the stock boot image.
And you need to flash the GAPPS in recovery for the Google apps

If you want to go back to stock completely (including relocked bootloader) you will need everything completely stock and matching your phones CID. Of course you will need to flash the corresponding boot.img for every rom. But as far as i know/tried, nik3rs oxp_kk kernel works for all 4.4 roms and the other version works for all Sense5 based custom roms and maybe stock rom (if you don't need relocked bootloader).

Thx, i have installed the Gapps and it's working good.
The only thing i notice is the fast battery drain, is it possible to underclock some thing so the battery last longer, and which apps are good for that?
And if i want to go back to the stock rom, i just have to go back to my "stock rom backup" in recovery and flash nik3rs oxp_kk kernel?

no, oxp_kk is just for 4.4 (kitkat) AOSP like roms. there's another non- kk version which works with 4.2.2/sense5 roms, but i don't know about stock roms. There's also a fallback kernel version which should work with all stock and custom 4.2.2/Sense 5 roms.
How do I flash a ROM without the recovery included in the zip? How do i remove the recovery from the zip file before flashing? I'm trying to flash a ROM that has twrp recovery, it won't let me restore my backups from CWM, if i remove twrp from the zip do i need to insert cwm or just flash the zip with twrp removed thru my current cwm?
Check the rom for recovery.img.
Rest is hit and trial to remove it all together or replace it with the one with yours.
A bit of risk involved.
Keep the backups handy.
Well, is TWRP included for a reason? Since you didn't tell us which phone, it's pretty hard to give a good answer. There is no universal method for how to install roms as they can vary by phone, carrier, and update it's on. I know for some phones, when the recovery is included like that, it will flash the zip and install recovery then reboot to the new recovery to finish the install. Not all roms can work with all recoveries. I would re-read the installation instructions to make sure that this is not the case or that only that version of TWRP can be used with the new rom.
As far as how to remove (if needed, which I'm wary of without knowing the details...), you just need to use something like 7zip or WinRAR to open the zip as an archive and delete the recovery img. You do not want to unzip and rezip the contents because most likely it will break the signature of the rom and fail to flash in any recovery.

I'm trying to migrate from CM 14.1 to LineageOS 14.1 official nightly on a OnePlus 3.
Here is what I currently have on the phone:
TWRP version 3.0.3-0
CM 14.1 nightly: cm-14.1-20161216-NIGHTLY-oneplus3.zip
OpenGapps: open_gapps-arm64-7.1-nano-20170211.zip
I'm doing the following:
1.) Reboot to recovery (to TWRP).
2.) Wipe everything (cache, system, data, Dalvik cache).
3.) Select in TWRP: Advanced -> ADB Sideload
4.) From computer: adb sideload lineage-14.1-20170207-nightly-oneplus3-signed.zip
5.) Here's what TWRP complains about:

Comparing TZ version TZ.BF.4.0.1-76917 to TZ.BF.4.0.1-00287.2

Had this problem migrating from dev cm13->los14.1 this morning.
Seems like your firmware is not to the correct version. Install OxygenOS 4.0.2 (maybe 4.0.3 is working) first, maybe you'll need to flash the OxygenOS recovery first.
Then, boot at least once to the system (might be slow), then start again the process to install Lineage
Good luck!
You need to do following in the below order.
1. Flash official twrp 3.0.4 from fastboot command
2. Format complete internal storage in twrp, this will delete all user data, so make a backup.
3. Transfer all below files to internal storage in MTP mode in twrp.
4. Flash OxygenOS 4.0.3 firmware and modem zip
5. Flash lineageos 1402 nightly
6. Flash opengapps arm64 of ur choice
7. Boot and enjoy

Is there somewhere else where I could get 3.0.4 from?

Mine force closes the camera app.
