[CHANGELOG] - Paranoid Android 5.0 [AOSPA] - No Questions/Comments - Paranoid Android Features Development

Paranoid Android Change Logs & Full Feature Catalog
PLEASE DO NOT POST FEATURE REQUESTS!
Note:
This post is meant to reflect the core changes made to the AOSPA source code.
These changes should be present in any device-build that is created using PA as the base.
Device specific tweaks (additions and/or removals) implemented on legacy builds or any non-official builds will NOT be listed here, these should instead be noted by the device maintainer/developer in the appropriate device thread.
In an effort to keep this concise, minor bug fixes and optimizations will be omitted. Those can be viewed on Github and/or Gerrit.
Major user-facing bug fixes would however be noted.

Aospa 5.0 alpha1 <2015-02-02>
*The #WeAreBackBaby Edition*
It’s been a long time, but we’re finally back and ready to start tasting some lollipops. To start our lollipop journey, we added some goodies to improve AOSP’s state along with some tiny and useful features for a sweet daily use. Lollipop has changed almost everything, and we must think with a different mindset in order to create new features that can provide meaningful improvements over stock while following material design. We’re on it, so don’t worry. Our sauce will have new spices soon enough.
Precautions
First and foremost, if you are flashing from kitkat, stock, or any other ROM we highly recommend a factory reset first. Not doing so may cause strange issues, so if you don't you're on your own.
Second, Galaxy Nexus is not supported anymore on official branch from lollipop. If we manage we'll bring it up within legacy sauce but is not mantained by us anymore like it was before.
For OnePlus and Oppo users, you must flash the latest CM nightly before flashing this release. The CM nightly contains firmware updates necessary to avoid bootloops and broken sensors.
Also Oppo users, The device trees are now split into two variants: Find7s (QHD-2K) and Find7 (FHD-1080p).
Some 3rd party kernels have not yet been updated to include Theme Engine support. If Theme Engine breaks after switching kernels, simply re-flash the build and Google apps to revert to stock kernel.
Other than that, these builds are fairly stable and ready to be used in public, but this is still an alpha build. Hope for awesome buttery smoothness, be ready for a bumpy ride.
In this new iteration of Paranoid Android, super user access (rooting) will be left up to the user.
Changes
Update the baseline to AOSP Lollipop 5.0.2
Improvements to Heads Up, such as an option to disable heads up interruptions completely
Add Quick Unlock
Extend the power menu
Animate the volume panel in a more material manner
Make it possible to skip songs using volume buttons when the device is locked
Add CM12 Theme Engine
Fix various small annoyances from AOSP

5.0 alpha 2
We are rolling out PA 5.0 Alpha 2 builds to the public right now, but first off, a big warning. As of right now, addon.d backup functions are not included in the build. This means you are required to manually flash GApps, SuperSU and all your other extras after flashing the Alpha 2 ZIP. Seriously, you have been warned - do not reboot without re-flashing the GApps package you use. (Unless you have backups.)
A large and fairly important part of the changes consists of Theme Engine improvements, but we are not skipping out on in-house changes. These builds feature the re-introduction of App Ops. Initially made available back in Android 4.3 as a hidden away feature that was later removed and left fairly untouched in AOSP, it has been revived for Android 5.0 and should make your permission restrictioning much easier to do. You can now also reorder your Quick Settings tiles. The layout for them is still the same - two expanded tiles at the top row and a slew of smaller tiles below that, but dragging tiles around allows you to pick their ordering manually instead of being restricted to the AOSP way.
Experiment with tile ordering and protect yourself against all the applications wanting to access all the things.
Changes
Quick Settings are now reorder-friendly
App Ops re-introduced in the Settings app
CM TE updates included

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] ParanoidAndroid 4.5-BETA2 8/14/2014

Attention Stock-based ROM users (Androwook, Energy, CleanROM, etc): You must downgrade from the 4.2.1 bootloader, otherwise this ROM will not work. This ROM requires the 4.1.1 bootloader.
Also, please read this entire post as well as post three if you plan to use Data2SD.
Finally, this ROM requires either my modified TWRP or namidairo's modified CWM Recovery. If you are already running kitkat based ROMs, you're fine.
ParanoidAndroid 4.5-BETA2
Current Stable Version: pa_tf201-4.5-BETA2-20140814And now, making it's long overdue debut on XDA... ParanoidAndroid for the TF201.
See post 2 for changelog..
Note: Data Wipe is required if coming from another ROM or PA version 3.99-RC2 or earlier. If you've been using the PA4.x beta versions, you *should* be okay, but try a data wipe if you have any FC's.
Data2SD mod now available. See installation instructions. See post three, "If you plan to use Data2SD" for formatting instructions and other notes.
Main Features:
1.Per-app DPI, layout, and color settings (configurable from Hybrid properties in Settings).
2.PIE, a new UI for Expanded Desktop (Immersive) mode. Drag your finger from the bottom of the screen while in expanded desktop mode to use it.
3.HOVER, a multi-tasking feature that opens apps in a floating window without closing your current app.
3.CyanogenMod's new theme engine
Starting with PA 4.x, the PA team have decided to re-write a lot of their core features from scratch, so some of the features above are missing.
Before flashing, make sure you are using Jellybean Bootloader version 4.1.1 and a compatible recovery, otherwise this ROM will not work. Stock-based ROM users must downgrade from the 4.2.1 bootloader. Also, this ROM requires either my modified TWRP or namidairo's modified CWM Recovery.
Installation Instructions:
1.Download the latest ROM from here.
-Optional Downloads:
Data2SD, framework-res.apk, ad OC kernels can be downloaded here.
Note: The latest ROM's, kernels and framework-res.apk's can also be found in the Downloads section at the top of the page.
2.Download pa gapps from here. Use the micro modular package.
3.Reboot to recovery. Make sure you are using either my modded TWRP or namidairo's modded CWM recovery. Stock-based ROM users: flash downgrade zip before proceeding beyond this point. Follow the instructions provided within the thread of whichever ROM you are using (Androwook, Energy, CleanROM, etc). You will then need to update to a later recovery version.
4.Nandroid (just in case).
5.Wipe Data/Factory Reset and wipe System if coming from a different ROM or PA version 3.99-RC2 or earlier. If you are already running PA 4.x, then no data wipe is necessary.
6.Wipe Cache/Dalvik Cache (Recommended regardless).
7.Flash the ROM and gapps (If you plan to use Data2SD, proceed to post three for additional information and instructions at this point).
8.Reboot.
Known Issues:
1. The Dock battery doesn't show up on the status bar
2. GPS is still broken
3. Multi-user is broken (causes bootloops).
4. Most likely other little things.
If anyone finds any bugs, don't send a bug report to the ParanoidAndroid Team, report them here since this is an unofficial build. I don't have any other testers, so there may be bugs I've missed/never encountered.
The team often posts status updates on their Google+ page. Check here for news/status updates.
Check here for the ParanoidAndroid changelog for official builds. I'll post any significant changes I make in post two.
Obligatory Disclaimer: I, nor the ParanoidAndroid team are responsible if this messes up your device. Also, I am not affiliated with the ParanoidAndroid team in any way. I built this for my own use and thought others might like it.

Fixed a string in PIE Settings. Trigger area no longer marks two options as default.
Added UK Keyboard layout.
3/25/2013

Update to 3.68
Option to change the size of HALO.
Various fixes. See PA's Google+ page for changes.

Update to 3.69
Built using official CyanogenMod device tree, with additional fixes.
Added full R/W support for NTFS and exFat file systems, courtesy of CyanogenMod.
Added discard option to fstab. Let's see if this helps or hurts performance.
10/29/2013

Fixed mass FC's caused by setting up a new user.
Added center clock and custom date display options for the status bar (Un-tested in TabletUI).
Added "Never" as a screen timeout option.
Switched over to HDPI icon set. Status bar icons no longer fill in completely when setting custom colors in PA Prefs (except for the dock battery icon).

Data2SD Information and Archive Download Links
If you plan to use Data2SD:
Make sure your microSD card has two partitions, both set to Primary (or boot in linux). The first can be whatever you like, but the second must be ext4. I would recommend using at least 6GB minimum for the second partition since this is where all of your apps and internet downloads will go. Starting with PA 4.x, I'm introducing an Enhanced Data2SD kernel. This version will allow any app to read from and write to the internal storage, whether or not it has root access. Unfortunately, this version needs to be flashed in two files. One is the kernel, the other is a modified frameworks-res.apk. For the kernel, just download the latest version; it will work on any build. The frameworks-res.apk however, must be matched to the specific ROM version. The filenames for the ROM and framework zips include build dates. Make sure these match. For Data2SD, use the files marked "Data2SD". To revert, use the files marked "Stock". Download links can be found in post one.
To install:
1. Follow all the installation steps from post one up to and including step seven.
2. After you flash the ROM + Gapps, reboot, let the progress bar fill, then reboot back into recovery.
3. Flash the Data2SD kernel.
4. Flash the modified framework-res.apk.
5. Reboot and proceed as normal.
If you get an "Encryption Unsuccessful" error within android (it's hard to miss), it means you didn't format your microSD card correctly. Make sure both partitions are set to primary (or that the boot flag is checked in linux) and that the second partition is ext4. Also, make sure the partitions aren't part of an extended partition. They must be separate or you will get this error.

so i use PA 3.0 on my phone, and my rom dev had us download a special PA-GAPPS. but this one just call for the standard cm10 ones. just wondering why that might be? i just figured it was cause PA was its own special deal lol
grats!
Couple of hours on this ROM, I would say it's a very smooth indeed. Minor bug on 'Custom Tiles', you can't add or delete additional tiles.
Gonna stay with this ROM for a while as I like PA on a tablet. Thanks Voyager2k !
Re: [ROM][JB Bootloader] ParanoidAndroid 3.10 [UNOFFICIAL] 2/27/2013
Both adding and deleting tiles has been working for me, has been working since the latest version few days ago

Yes you're right, they can be deleted. But 'systemui' FC when I tried to add GPS. Anyway, maybe just me had too much to drink lol.

Found the problem. For some reason the MDPI icon set is incomplete, so the SystemUI couldn't load the proper icons. I've switched over to the HDPI icon set and it seems to be working fine. Icons are a little bigger, but personally, I kind of like it. I'll have a new build uploaded shortly.
Edit: Build is now live. Let me know if this fixes it for you.
Re: [ROM][JB Bootloader] ParanoidAndroid 3.10r1 [UNOFFICIAL] 2/28/2013
Wonderful build. Flashed it with motleys kernel and this literally brought back life to my prime lol. I love PA. FYI pie is still a little borked. The snap points don't work as well as access to the notifications thru pie. No problem tho. Still lovin it. Thanks.

Re: [ROM][JB Bootloader] ParanoidAndroid 3.10r1 [UNOFFICIAL] 2/28/2013
Both are working for me. Try this: drag your finger to the right, just past the solid arc to view notifications, or left, just past the dotted arc for the quick settings panel. For snap points, you need to drag your finger over to one of the + symbols and leave it there until PIE closes.

Dpwnloaded latest build and installed. SystemUI FC is FIXED on latest build. Thank you Voyager2k !
Installed last night with PA gapps. Had an issue with the play store at first, wouldnt sync. Had to delete and readd my google account, then it worked.
Also... i cant get PIE to work at all. I have turned off the dock... i have a tablet not a phone. Do i need dock on to have the pie feature?
Other than that, speedy and stable after letting it sit and cache for an hour or so.
Something i noticed though, id been running jellybeer previously, and whenever i did a jellybeer reinstall, it auto downloaded all my play store apps from the last build. I thought that was really cool. PA doesnt seem to do that, where is that feature from?
Good, but you have to fix color choosing in PA Settings and also fix clock widget on the lockscreen
Re: [ROM][JB Bootloader] ParanoidAndroid 3.10r1 [UNOFFICIAL] 2/28/2013
Working great, even colour settings is working on my one. Just only had issues with theme changer, kept crashing even though I didn't even change anything. So I removed it and now it's good.
Great work!

Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
1.6 is a pretty big update for us! Check out the changelog on our goo.im page for more, but here are the highlights:
-We've fixed PIE! It no longer decides to be invisible from time to time.
-We fixed the battery charge light! None of us use it but apparently you guys are just nuts for it!
-Dark Carbon! Huge props to Slim Roms for coming up with this unique and awesome feature.
-Lockscreen theming
-CM skinny battery is back!
-Volume key lock on silent mode option
-Backup tool - if you're flashing a new version of Carbon and already have the required version of gapps installed, it will be backed up and restored during install. This applies to system apps and custom host files as well. Please note that you should only dirty flash from Carbon to Carbon. It's ok if it's another version or a nightly - just not over other roms. Super handy for you crack flashers. Make sure you've got the most recent Gapps though, and if you're flashing from a factory reset, you'll still need to install it after install of course.
-Long pressing the "clear recents" button clears the cache
-3.4 kernel on D2xxx devices. It's finally stable enough where we're comfortable with this - remember to only flash other 3.4 kernels or it will not boot as there are rom-level dependencies.
-AOKP's awesome new navbar settings
-NFC polling mode for when you want to keep your screen off and scan tags
-MMS and call "breathe" feature. Makes the notification icon fade in and out.
-Mute dings when changing volume
-Disable/enable CRT effect on screen on/off.
-3rd party keyboard bug fixed
-deodexed again
-stability and speed enhancements
-a million other little things as well - we basically don't even sleep anymore.

Change Log 8.06.13
The post is to big for XDA posts now, so instead I'll include a link to the changelog itself!
From here on ONLY use 4.3 gapps, I don't want to see any reports of broken cameras, keyboards or locking up if you are on anything besides a 4.3 gapps!
8.09.13
Fully updated to 4.3 Jellybean source
Fully updated to chad and crew's latest work on kernel/vendor/device
Use only the included kernel for now, crpalmer's 3.1.2 kernel is not fully compatible and will cause display and camera glitching.
Use only gapps for 4.3
A complete revamp of Carbon, they're starting over from the ground up so you may notice a lot of features missing, such as halo, expect these to return soon. What you can also expect is a smooth fast ROM with a solid foundation to build upon!
8.12.13
Updated source
BlueTooth now turns on (how well it works I can't test)
Single build, for now GSM is at least somewhat working on the CDMA build, so for now, pending further investigation, only a single "unified" version is available.
8.19.13
Updated souce
Updated with Chad and company's latest awesomeness
Features are beginning to trickle back in, Halo is back, etc.
Compatible with crpalmer's latest kernel (and .torrented's should also work)

Apparently the blank display was due to changes Carbon made to msm8960-common that I hadn't thought to look in on, and it changes quite a few things concerning the display. For now I have reverted to the CM common tree to correct the display issue.

FAQS
If you didn't read the bugs list in the first post, go back up and read that now, asking the same questions over and over is a trademark of xda and I hate it, please read the change log and bug list before posting questions or reporting issues.
Q. I want to report an issue, can I just post it in your thread without reading or doing any basic troubleshooting, googling, reading or wiping?
A. Well you CAN, you may be ignored or flamed for it. Please read above, and please read the Bugs and Change Log lists before reporting anything. Please flash a clean download, flash a clean wipe, and don't restore stuff from TiBu, that's basic troubleshooting, check if the issue persists, if it does, then feel free to post about it.
Q. Is this daily driver ready?
A. Can't answer that, what a person needs from their phone varies from person to person, what I may consider fine for my use may be 500 kinds of broken for another user. Example, I don't use my camera often, maybe once a month, and my BT has never been turned on for the last 5 devices, for me broken BT audio and camera doesn't make it a non daily driver ROM. Please read and decide for yourself if features included outweigh the broken, or if broken things are required for your comfortable use of your device.
Q. How can I build my own versions?
A. For now you can use the existing CM tree and build it that way. Any further help can be asked as needed.
Q. Can I use -insert kernel name here-?
A. No. Well ok you can, but please don't report any issues while running anything besides what came with the ROM.
Q. Your files all download as index.php!
A. This happens on certain browsers, namely the stock browser and Chrome. You can either use another browser (naked and dolphin don't do this) or simply rename the file to something useful, like "piostotallyepicawesomesaucedrizzledromthatrocksyourass.zip"
Q. Can we do random bantering and good natured fun poking in your thread?
A. Sure, feel free to go OT on occasion, I'm all for having FUN on xda, even if some are not. I would like users to feel completely comfortable in my thread with no worries of me coming down on any thing not ROM or development related, I don't run a strict thread as many know by now. What I don't want is flame wars, though. Please keep a limiter on what is good natured fun as we all know things can get out of hand quickly. If someone is taking offense to something going on and its made known, please end it there with no hard feelings.

Whoop!!!! I heard rumors! I'm about to no sleep and flash this tonight...thanks so much for your hard work!
I downloaded this from your server and running it now. Seems very smooth and I like the breathing effect of notifications. You need to rest!
So I see this is based off the Cyanogen Mod tree. Does that mean the ROM has the same bugs as it such as bluetooth?
Also, how does one download it?

And yes, generally it will have whatever issues CM currently has.

pio/guys,
I just want to ask, since I have to wait until my battery charges before I flash... How are you liking this ROM compared to PAC/Revolt? Also since it's CM10.1 based it should have all multi-touch issue fixed right? ( I would hate to flash & find out my kid can't play his Gunman Clive again, that would mess him up. lol )
Also I read that maybe we should keep the STOCK Kernel on this ROM instead of using the AOSP Kernel. Did I read right or misunderstand?
pio, you are the Gandalf of the HTC Droid DNA, you indeed are working some sweet magic.
THANK YOU! Ohh and like everyone is saying..... Get some REST! :cyclops:

Unless you are flashing bootloaders it is extremely hard to screw up. I flash ROMs with less than 10% without even thinking twice and never had a problem. Do what you feel comfortable doing, anything over 20% would be fine IMHO.
I personally prefer the other all in one ROMs he has released. PAC is my favourite as it has every feature I want. If you don't care about Paranoid Android's Hybrid Properties then flash Carbon as it runs smoother for some users.

Cool I hear that, it's just that I want to be able to play with the ROM after I flash. If I flash a ROM at 10% or so then that REALLY limits my time with the ROM, because then I would have to put the phone to charge.
I just went to pio's website & downloaded Carbon but the file I downloaded is called "index-1.php" instead of "CARBON-JB-UNOFFICIAL-20130602-dlx-CDMA.zip".
Is that OK or is there a problem here? I am not going to flash that file until I get confirmation that it's supposed to be like that.
Thanks to anyone who can verify & help. This is the first time this has happened to me on one of pio's ROMS.

Rename the file to something.zip . it does that with chrome or stock browser, user Firefox on android for downloads to fix the filename issue. Other than being named wrong, the file is fine.

I added the index.php issue to the FAQs last night.
Personally I use crpalmers kernel with this ROM, its great, by all means use it.
Personally I use carbon because I don't use PA features. Second is ReVolt, then PAC, though since the recent apps fix in PAC its a little harder to say lol
No halo in this, its in the works, though. The carbon team has released a special halo version for some devices a couple weeks ago, so it may happen once halo matures a little more.

Its in /data/media, this is discussed numerous times in various threads so I won't get into much detail, but copy from /data/media to /0 and it'll work fine in 4.2 ROMs. To go back to a sense ROM move back from /0 to /data/media. After you can delete /0 but don't they to delete /data/media, just what may be in it as that's your internal SD card.

Guardian ROM is a custom android ROM multiple devices. The ROM is completely Open Source and based off of the CM10.1. While this build is stable because it's based on CM10.1 it is a preview so please expect some bugs, & missing features (i.e updater).
What Features does Guardian Rom have?
Kernel is hardened with SecDroid Tweaks.
ROM is patched with and includes OpenPdoird for
permissions management.

UPDATES:
Since this is a preview I have not had a chance to remove or modify the CM Updater. Please do NOT use it as you will be flashing a stock CM10.1 build and not Guardian Rom. This will be fixed shortly.
thanks for taking the time to build this! how does your ROM compare with SE for Android [ http://selinuxproject.org/page/SEAndroid ]? it sounds like similar features. ive been planning on doing an htc one android SE build for a long time now but havent had the time or the skill to do so. anyways, i appreciate you building this.

The build focuses more on the Encryption side and Exploit mitigation (GRSecurity) side of things. SEAndroid is great for containment of malicious payloads AFTER a successful exploit. We want to prevent the exploit to begin with. GRSecurity isn't included yet due to stability issues but it will be eventually. Since we can use SeLinux as the MAC with GRSec. We may do so. Or we may choose to go with RBAC instead. We haven't got that far just yet.
Another note:
Most of the features work well on AOSP but not on CM. It will take more work to either port these enhancements to CM or port stock AOSP to non-nexus devices such as the HTC One.

[ROM] [AOSP-5.1.1] Starship-Nexus_Hammerhead-Class (6/18/5015)

So it has been a long time in the works and feels like have been working on this forever. First it was an AOSP Rom, then Caf and at some point both. For now the Rom is AOSP 5.1.1 based.
Is still not 100% but have decided to just go ahead and post the Rom and improve and update.
If you have seen the Test Flight CM based version that had been posted with the Starship Kernel the overall theme is pretty much the same.
The mission now is to first go over a few parts of the theme that bug me or did not translate well in the CM to AOSP Transition such as lightening up some text so is easier to read with darker backgrounds. Second mission is go over every APK one by one and fine tune the theme and add in any extra features. Will post an update as each APK has been completed. Most of the work is done in some form or another but have spent ages nitpicking everything to death and have an external drive filled with already completed images, Colour XML's and lots of uncommitted features so updates will come rather quickly. Honestly at this point am just going to start with the APK's in Alphabetical order so if you like the Rom and theme but a few particular things bug you just let me know and I will not mind jumping ahead. Also with each Rom update not only expect app and theme improvements but kernel and other system enhancements as most are already lined up and just need to be tested in the Rom's new incarnation. It has probably seen some better days but with my constant picking and changing have gone back and forth with so many things I think its best to just post so Starship is out there and now start finalizing. What is currently posted is bare bones themed and featuring a Kernel I have also spent almost a year working on. If you had used the Kit-Kat version of Starship then already know how fast the Rom will be improved and updated based on legitimate feedback. I know I am making things out like this is an incomplete Rom but have been using and been very happy with what is posted as my daily. Yes still need to improve a few things but the truth is I am never happy with anything I do and would have kept changing direction until Android N.
Until next time keep looking up!!
Installing
This version was not compiled using the new block based zip format so will take a bit longer when flashing the Rom. Just a warning for anyone who may think something is wrong. It Just takes a minute longer to flash.
Otherwise besides first performing the usual Wipe of Caches, System and Data also recommend flashing the Rom first, Gapps second and SuperSU last.

I recommend using the Banks 5.21.15 version of Gapps and have posted a link below. I don’t like reposting someone else’s work but just now discovered the 6.17.15 version seems glichy during the set-up wizard sometimes needing to be in landscape mode when making a selection so have reposted the version used during testing. Have also posted a link to the 6.17.15 version but found for example during the restore option selecting done will only register the selection in landscape mode.

About Team Pear Crew:
Hey there! We are a team of android fanboys who love customization! We love to build ROMs, MODs, Kernels and tweaks. We have are addicted to flashing our Android handsets. We started out as a porting team who flooded the forums of the Desire HD/ARC/Neo/Play/... forums with ROMs. Now we moved to building and modifying source code for other devices. One of our handsets is the Xperia Z3 and we intend to build more ROMs for it in the future as well as provide weekly builds of our existing projects. If you love our work and care to support us in getting some better equipment to further advance our work, you can give us a small donation. Without further to do, I present to you the SlimLP ROM.
About Slim ROMs:
SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by the public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.

Installation Instructions:
- Download SlimLP and the specific Gapps linked.
- Boot into recovery.
- Perform a full backup.
- Perform a complete wip (system, data, dalvik, cache)
- Reboot phone.
- Once phone is booted and set up, enable developer options and then enable USB debugging, then go to System ->Security and temporarily enable Root Access for ADB and Apps.
- Connect your phone to your computer
- Download TWRP from here. And place it in your Internal Storage (not inside a folder)
- Start up cmd at your adb/fastboot installation directory (search XDA for: Minimal ADB/Fastboot or else install Android SDK) and type
Code:
adb shell
and hit enter.
- Then type
Code:
su
and hit enter. Grant root access on your phone if prompted (you normally shouldn't)
- Copy and paste this into the cmd:
Code:
dd if=/sdcard/z3fotatwrpv4.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/FOTAKernel
and hit enter.
- Close cmd and enjoy. Your phone is now running the latest SlimLP and has TWRP by LeonidasTurk installed. It is important to install the recovery, as the one that SlimLP installs is unusable at the current state.

what do u mean "even the camera key works". thats not the same as drm keys i guess? do this work on LB, or do we need UB?
@sewb XD no I didn't mean software DRM keys. I meant the actual camera button on the side of the Z3, you can use it to launch the camera app Have a nice day man

yeah thats what i thought. does that button not work on other roms?
@sewb Oddly in other ROMs, that button only works to shoot photos within the camera app, in SlimLP the button works to launch the app, not shoot photos... weird stuff...
OK. Thanks. How does Dolby audio, viper and xposed work on this one? Anyone tried?

Locked or unlocked bootloader?
@sewb haven't tried it yet.
 @gregysk Unlocked
ive used this now since yesterday and it seems really nice. but its a couple of things i wonder. is it possible to get a option to only have battery in text and no icon in status bar? and also im mising doubletap setting in nav bar, can only get singel and long tap now?
Sent from my Xperia Z3 using Tapatalk
@sewb I think you can get these mods through third party solutions such as Xposed or the 3Minit Battery mod. As for the double tap, I think you can enable it with Kernel Tuner. This ROM is currently being developed by team Slim. I assume they will be added in the future...
ok. im gonna try xposed, but cant do that until monday. gonna try 3minit, thanks
Sent from my Xperia Z3 using Tapatalk
Looks great! Finally AOSP with Cam key :victory:
What about the other Features?
What is Layer 2.1, Chamber of secrets and Global Menu?
Will test later...:fingers-crossed: Thanks!
@sewb No problem man
@Miustone Hahaha OK, Layers 2.1 is an addition to the android framework like xposed but is integrated into the code. So you can install themes (like CyanogenMod) and other mods (you need the Layers Manager by Bitsyko first, search it on the Play Store) I suggest trying the Elixium UI Layer theme (check it out on Play Store). Chambers of secrets is a Harry Potter reference, that is how team Slim calls the developer options . As for Global Menu I have no idea XD. Have a nice day man
Is the fisheye camera bug still present? This is literally the only thing that keeps me stock and locked at the moment

Wait what? So what you're saying is that aosp roms has fixed the fisheye problem. Do we finally have shinano drivers for our camera or are they still the same as xperia z1. So if you take a picture of something with a straight line like a TV, it does not get bended? This has been the only bug that has been kept me away from custom ROMs other than stock sony based.
Oh and does the camera key work to launch the camera app while the screen is off?
My last question, does auto brightness work? (it ha been a problem in cm12.1)
So fisheye bug is fixed for all aosp and is this the only aosp rom out for our phones
If it's really fixed, I'd be super happy. Can anyone confirm?
