This guide shows you how to theme your home screen to look like the stock home screen of the Samsung Galaxy S3
This requires NO ROOT, is smooth as butter and it looks more like the stock Galaxy S3 home screen than any other launchers I have seen
This guide is done by me, I made this by testing different options and seeing what looks the best
Picture of the finished home screen:

}
Guide:
Step 1: Download and install Go Launcher EX
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gau.go.launcherex&hl=en
Step 2: Download and install the Galaxy S3 Go Launcher Theme, this gives you S3 icons in the Go Launcher. After installing, open it and click "OK" and the theme changes
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gau.go.launcherex.theme.vrd.galaxytheme
Step 3: Download and install the Galaxy S3 weather/clock widget, if you fail to add a location, uninstall this app, enter recovery, wipe cache and reinstall the apk
http://www.mediafire.com/download/s95fv8lt3k53k8x/YAWeather.apk
Step 4: Download and install the Custom ICS Search Widget:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.u1aryz.products.icssearchwidget
Now that you have everything needed downloaded and installed, it's time to customize
Step 1: Rearrange your icons in the Go Launcher so they look like in the picture, move the app drawer to the right side of the dock and remove browser from the dock
Step 2: Long press in the Go Launcher, click "Effect" and select "Glass"
Step 3: Enter the app drawer, click the 3 dots, select Settings, select Transition and change Horizontal transition to "Smooth"
Step 4: Set your desktop wallpaper to this:
https://cdn-images.xda-developers.com/direct/1/0/7/1/2/3/6/wallpaper_02.jpg
Step 5: Long press in the desktop, tap "Preferences" and tap "Screens". Now select "Grid size" and change it to "Tight (5*4)" and turn on "Resizes widgets and icons"
Step 6: Long press in the home page, select "Add", select "Widget" and choose "YA Weather(4x2)". Long press the widget, select Resize and resize it 1 step bigger so it fills in about half of the editable area like in the picture
Step 7: Now add a widget "Custom ICS Search", when you're in the edit screen make sure that all of them are white except the shadow color and that the shadow is on, after this press "OK" and it will add the widget. Make sure that it's below the S3 weather/clock like in the picture
You are finished! You can do customizing if you want, this guide is to a stock look
If you have any questions, leave them as a reply and I will try to answer them

Hi Zack
Beautiful work, keep on!
May I suggest for clarity
1- to add in your thread's title [WAD] to save time and heartache for ppl who don't own Wad
2- to move this thread to Windows Mobile themes http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=525&order=desc

Nice looking SGY uccw skin
Posted this in the Sprint One section and thought i'd share with y'all also
I saw a lot of people not knowing how to configure it, so here's how I got it to work
1. Install Floating Notifications and enable it in the Accesibility menu.
2. Select the box labeled "Launch Apps in Halo Mode"
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3. Go to the app notifications menu and check which ones you want it to notify you for. HINT: if you want a real halo experience the rightmost icon in the app list will make the icon stay floating.
4. This is a personal preference: Go to Customize in Floating Notifications and select "Dock after a few seconds of inactivity" and then at the bottom set "Amount of the icon hidden when docked:" to 55%. If it is more than 55% then you will have trouble clicking the stack.
5. REBOOT PHONE.
Now for the Xposed part.
1. Install Xposed Framework
2. REBOOT PHONE.
3. Go into Xposed Installer and go to "Downloads" and select XHaloFloatingWindow, and then install it.
4. REBOOT PHONE.
5. Go into Xposed Installer and go into "Modules" and check the box "XHaloFloatingWindow".
6. For safe measure REBOOT PHONE. And then you're done
Lemme know if y'all need any help!
Also on the reboots it hung on the splash for a while.
Oh yeah not responsible if your device catches fire.
If you're having a problem with the stock messenger app look here:
ticklemepinks said:
using this will make the sense stock messager app from working properly as you won't be able to see the "SEND" button in the halo window
*correction* you just have to change the height of portrait 0.8 or at least for me, maybe this doesn't happen with other ppl.

Hello people, I have made a guide that shows how you can make your Galaxy Y look like a Galaxy S4 without root or flashing any files in recovery (I created this in stock 2.3.6 ROM with no root)
Below are screenshots after the transformation:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Before-screenshot -->
Lets start the transformation!
Downloading & Installing:
1. Download and install S4 Launcher and Lock screen:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/iciud12rlmbl4zr/twlauncherv4.apk
http://www.mediafire.com/download/vv6b3fnipgsw6do/S4LockerLens.apk
2. Download and install S4 Settings app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ion.setting
3. Download and install Super Status Bar (This is available in Google Play too, but the latest version doesn't support Android 2.3 anymore so here is a link to the second newest version):
http://gallery.mobile9.com/f/3008525
3. Download and install Weather widget (If it fails to add location, you can fix it by uninstalling the app, wiping cache and reinstalling it):
http://www.mediafire.com/download/s95fv8lt3k53k8x/YAWeather.apk
(Optional) Download and install the ICS search widget:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.u1aryz.products.icssearchwidget
Set up:
1. Set Touchwiz launcher as default launcher
2. Enable S4 Lock screen and turn on "Lock Sounds" for more realism
3. Place Weather widget to the home screen top 2 rows and place app shortcuts to the 4 slots below
4. Enable Super status bar and "iLlusory background" (Under General tab)
5. Change Super status bar layout to Classic (Under Advanced tab)
6. Press settings button (Left of Home button) on the app drawer and select "Hide apps". Now you can hide the stock settings app (as it's replaced by the S4 app) and some others if you want
Here are some S4 wallpapers you can use:
http://www.sammobile.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/fhd_03.png
http://www.sammobile.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/fhd_01.jpg
http://www.sammobile.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/fhd_06.png
I used this wallpaper in the transformation, it fits best for the home screen and creates a nice gradient status bar that looks good in apps too (not just launcher):
http://android.1pages.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/xperia-wallpaperxperia-z-wallpapers-hd---beautiful-stunning-wallpapers-xaqntfsc.jpg
With this, you will completely forget Gingerbread (At least if you don't open any stock apps )
This guide is made 100% by me (I gathered the apps all over the internet, most aren't even built for the Galaxy Y), but the credit goes to the developers of these amazing apps
So after I flashed a custom ROM with UX 5.0 (G5 icons), I really started to like those "slightly rounded box" icons.
I then installed the V10 camera app for manual video, and ofc had to look at the 'old square' icon . . .
So for what its worth I started to make new ones. Maybe you like them too?
Trying to keep that stock LG "look & feel" I extracted an original 192x192px icon from an APK and traced a vector of the "rounded box" shape outline as a starting point.
For now I only made "slightly rounded box" V10 Camera Port and Chrome versions, but
I will add more (Google Mail, Youtube, WhatsApp, WeChat, XDA Labs, . . . ) in the future!!
Also feel free to ask for something you might want!
How to use:
1) Download the attachment from this post.
2) Extract .zip and copy the images to your device.
3) Use the stock launcher function to replace the icons (tap and hold icon on homescreen, release, tap little "paint brush" icon, select image).
4) Enjoy!
