Changing from US Play Store to UK - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

I'm recently relocated to the UK on a permanent basis. I came over from the US with my GS5 model G900T. I'm rooted with the stock rom and custom recovery. I'm also knox tripped 0-1.. I'm sim unlocked as well as the bootloader.. No issues with the mobile other than I can't figure out how to change from the US play store. Any ideas?

You should be able to just change the region in the build.prop file depending on what your are trying to access.

Build prop edits have not worked. I'm trying to access the UK Google play store. But my US T-Mobile GS5 insist on only allowing me access to US play store.

Maybe give this a shot
http://www.vidarholen.net/contents/junk/playstore.html

Typical.. I missed the part about us debit card. LoL! Everything is changed but I'm still using a us card. Should be fine once my UK card arrives. Thank you for your help.

[Q] Can not install Apps on HTC one X?

Hello everyone.
I recently bought android phone HTC One X. I already rooted it and installed costum ROM (proud of myself). And now I want to install games. I live in Georgia, so I can not buy any payed app from google play. I started to find alternative ways.
For example I want to download MC3. I have APK file and SD Data to. It sais I have to put SD data in android/data/com.gameloftblablabla. But when I do this, it still says game has to be downloaded.
Can anyone help?
PLEASE?!
get "Market Enabler". I am pretty sure it is available on the play store, and allows people outside of North America to download apps only authorized for North America.
Thanks for answer. But unfortunately I'm not from State Georgia, I'm from Republic of Georgia (east europe). Any Ideas?
Yes, that is what I mean. Market Enabler is for use OUTSIDE of the United States. It will allow you to download anything you want from the play store. Check it out!
What next?

So I installed MarketAccess, and now it shows me paid apps. But I can't buy them. When I press buy, google play stops working. What's the problem?

[Q] Help! No access to full Google Play services.

Hi guys. I just received my HTC Droid DNA from the US. It has an unlocked bootloader and has been rooted with TWRP installed. Most of the Verizon bloatware has been removed too.
But after logging into my UK Google Play account I can only access the Apps category. Nothing else. No Music, Books, or Movies.
I updated the Google Play services but no luck. I even tried with an updated APK and it still won't work.
I also tried accessing the Movie store from the Play Movies app but it just takes me to the site.
Any ideas? This has never happened before with an import device.
Thanks.
Could it be because I dont have a SIM card installed?
Its so strange. Whenever I load the Play Store it just automatically starts in the Apps page. It doesn't open the regular homepage with options for Apps, Music, Movies & TV, Books etc.
I have attached a screenshot showing what its like. Normally in the top left corner there would be an option to go from the apps page back to the main page but there simply isn't.
I have even tried changing the locale to English UK using apps like MultiLocale2 and others. When I load the Play Store after it looks like its about to load the main page but then it goes back again to the Apps page.
Even attempting to access the Book store from the Play Books app diverts me to the Play Store website http://play.google.com.
Clearly something is going on here. Something is blocking access to the other Play Services.
Also everything is in dollars $. I don't mind this as I had the same thing on my old Motorola Xoom, but the fact that the other services have gone is very strange.
This is really annoying now. I have tried the following:
Updating Google Play Services in the Play Store
Installing the latest Google Play Store APK
Turning on all location services
Changing my locale to English UK/GB and English US
Attempting to access the store categories from their respective apps e.g. Play Music app (just diverts me to the Play Store website)
Trying different languages in the Setup Wizard
Edited my Google Account and added my region as UK
Deleted preinstalled Play Music, Movies, Books APK/odex files
Restored my phone
None of these methods have worked. I can only access Apps in the Store. Nothing else.
Is it because the phone is rooted? Did deleting the bloatware cause any issues?
Are you running custom rom ? you mite wanna clear your cache IDK. I am a noob who is just trying to help.

I just reinstalled all the Verizon bloatware to system/app via the file manager in TWRP. Rebooted the phone, turned on location services logged into my Google account and still no luck.
Only the Apps still in the Play Store.
Getting really annoyed now. I have tried nearly everything. Last shot is to swap out the GooglePlayServices Framework and Play Store APK's with different more upto date ones.
Tried swapping the GoogleServicesFramework.apk and Phonesky.apk with updated versions in system/app.
Rebooted the device and the Play Store just crashes and comes up with an error.
Went into recovery and deleted the associated odex files for both of them and tried again. Now I get a server error in the Play Store.
Restored the device from a backup now. So annoying! I doubt this device will work properly with Google Play outside of the US.

Wipe your data and cache in TWRP. It's a nuisance to put all of your things back the way you had them, but this usually solves odd problems like this.
I give up.
Tried everything and nothing is working. It just simply wont load the main Play Store page. It jumps automatically to Apps. In that I have noticed that there is a Verizon category and everything is in USD$. But that still doesnt explain why its not working properly.
On top of that I have pushed new Phonesky.apk and GoogleServicesFramework.apk. Tried them with both odex files present as well as deleted.
Comes up with either Server Errors or Error Retrieving Information From Server [RH-01].
Does any one with more knowledge like a dev have any idea how to fix this?
2 questions...
Did you have this issue prior to device unlock?
Have you wiped data as reccomended by several other users in this thread?
I know its not a perm solution but i suggest that you create a new google email account and attempt to log into the playstore using these new credentials. This will allow you to test your theory that its related to your uk goog account. If that is the case then reg an account with US google and your problem is solved. I know it inconvenient to have to lose paid apps and what not but if this is truly a location issue then you may not have a choice my friend. Good luck.

Hi.
Thanks for the response.
I personally did not perform the unlock. The seller in the US did, as well as rooting the device. Upon receiving it, I immediately reset the device and logged in with my Google account. Thats when I noticed the problem. Its only been connected to WiFi as I have no Micro SIM yet to try it out on it.
I have wiped Data via TWRP as well as the Cache and Dalvik Cache. I have cleared data and cache in the Application settings for both the Play Store and Google Play Services. Nothing seems to work.
And its a very strange problem. Not one I have encountered before and searching on the internet it seems to be very rare. If I try to access the Books category by clicking on the little Play Store logo in the Play Books app, it switches to the Play Store and then immediately opens a new tab in the browser sending me straight to the website.
Surely as a Global device with unlocked GSM capabilities they should expect a foreigner or even someone on holiday from the States to try and use Google Play in another country.

Just tried it now mate. Created a new Google account with US details. Logged into Google Play and still the same problem. I even went through the Setup Wizard route on the phone just to be sure. It must be detecting my location via my IP address.
OK Guys.
Im getting somewhere now.
I have downloaded Market Enabler APK and set the phone to US Verizon settings. I then used Droid VPN with a US server and now I can access the Play Store properly with all the categories. So its clearly an IP issue. But now the question is how the hell do I get past it?
Just to confirm this. I logged out of my new US Google Account and back into my old UK one. At the same time I kept Market Enabler and Droid VPN active.
It worked fine. I was able to access the Play Store properly with all categories. After this I logged out of Droid VPN and deleted Market Enabler and it still worked! (I attached a screenshot) The last piece was to see if it would function after a reboot.
Turned the phone back on, went into the Play Store and the same problem as before. Only Apps. So its clearly to do with my UK IP address.
But at least I now know. Looks like I will be selling the Droid DNA.
What I don't understand, is that if i'm in the UK with a UK IP address, with a working UK SIM and a UK Google Account why cant I access the UK Google Play store on an unlocked GSM device?!

Well the device is not technically an unlocked GSM device. Your bootloader is unlocked but that has nothing to do with the ability to use it on another carrier. The device was released under verizon as a flagship verizon exclusive with GLOBAL CAPABILITY meaning all applicable consumers would have purchased in the us and be roaming on all other carriers, so technically was never meant to be a GSM only phone. The fact that it works on GSM carriers is because of the radio chip they decided to use. Now because it can pick up these bands doesnt mean that vzw released the device with the intentions of it being used on other carriers. What you need sir is the HTC j butterfly which is a GSM "Carrier UNLOCKED" global version. Anyway I imagine with a little wizardry there is a way around this for you. I cant provide a fix but I'm sure there is a way. I'll ask a couple people and see what their thoughts are.
Thanks for the reply. I understand where your coming from. I know that its a Verizon exclusive, but if anyone was to use it abroad even for a short while why cant they just reroute you to the local Google Play store or better yet base your Play Store off your country details in your account.
I think this is also due to the fact that the phone is ultimately only for US consumers like you said. Even when setting up the phone there is no option for English UK or English AU etc. Just the US.
Oh well. Thanks for everyones help.

[Q] This item isn't available in your country (apps error from play)

I looked in other threads but was curious to hear about my 6802 as to why when I try to install various apps, for example:
Xperia Privilege, Google Play store errors like this: "This item isn't available in your country"
I think my phone is actually from Singapore (ebay seller in the US).
I see there is an old app called Market Enabler, but I'm also curious how to see which market the phone is actually from.
I'm on stock 14.1.B.1.532 build.
I sure hope this isn't a dumb question nor is answered elsewhere.
Any help is appreciated

AFAIK, Chinese roms are heavily locked down for Google play. It may be worth looking at your buildprop entries and seeing which locale is set and change it to us.

I have the same annoying problem.
My phone is from HK, but my Play store is the US version, and I think that the Privilege app is for the asian markets and not the US that's why it's not available on the app store.
I think that the lock on app downloads on the play store has to do with what country your google wallet and play store account is associated with rather than the country/version of your Xperia device.
Right now is actually locked by your Ip address.
The only workaround is to connect your phone via VPN to a server in the specific country

Actually it is not build.prop related, it is from the market localisation. This app is exclusive in Asia and can't be downloaded from countries out of it.
You can try market helper, but not sure it'll work. If not there is allot of market apps hacked on the Web, but can't tell if any will actually work.

That's what I thought... I would change your country code in the rom. This will likely mean you format back to original install so will lose apps and data, but think then you should be OK as it will install UK playstore apps etc. Or to be safer, flash the UK 510 rom from scratch.

Mean Portuguese as been added to the country list. So Google playstore allow you to download it. Country list just got updated.
Yes, Google totally change the way of the country restriction. Many people complain about it, even using VPN services doesn't work. It is not attached to the sim card as well. And changing CDA change nothing too.
I have TW CDA but only can access to applications available in Vietnam, and it was the same when I had VN or HK CDA.

Ambiguous incompatibility!
Hi all,
My wife and I recently came to US and we got ourselves an HTC One M7 each. The phones were purchased from BestBuy and currently work on AT&T. Until today, I have found few US specific applications that are successfully installed on my wife's phone and working great, but not on mine. The error I see is "This app is incompatible with your device" - on both Play store on the web and on my phone.
The apps I have identified so far are:
1. Papa John's Pizza
2. Netflix
3. Hulu Plus
Also, both our phone numbers start with the same area code. And if it is of any help, we moved to USA from New Zealand (Pandora Internet Radio and Spotify work. I am not sure if they were available in NZ).
Steps I have taken so far:
1. Upgraded OS from Android 4.1.2 to Android 4.3 (still didn't receive the 4.4.2 update).
2. Ensured account information on Google Account (Google+) shows correct country.
3. Searched in vain for "Country" setting found anywhere else across Google's applications. Although I believe there is a setting lurking some place.
4. Checked "Let Google apps access your location" found under Settings -> Location
5. Ensured System language shows "English (United States)" - found under Settings -> Language & keyboard
6. Coaxed my wife into swapping phones.
Nothing has worked so far. I do not plan on rooting my phone or using a market helper. But if that is the only choice, I would do it. They are my last resort though. Although, I really hope it is some setting some place that I am missing.
Could anybody please help fix this?
Thanks for reading this and your solution.

How I wish I can be back to where I belong! I do miss NZ.
However, to answer your question, I do not think this is device specific. It seemed more relevant to the error than the device.
@moderators: Could you please move this to the appropriate section?
I didn't even have to switch sim cards to get a different play store. Like when i went to Dubai and Thailand, connecting to any wifi network enabled their playstore

Wow... I did the following and that fixed the issue.
1) Sign into your Google Wallet account to manage your payment methods
2) Delete all of your payment methods from Google Wallet, and only add a card to one with a billing address located inside your desired country
3) Open the Play Store and navigate to any item available for download
4) Click to begin a download until you reach the "Accept and buy" screen (no need to complete the purchase)
5) Close the Play Store and clear data for the Google Play Store application (Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Clear Data) or clear your browser cache
6) Re-open the Play Store. You should now see the Play Store that matches your default payment instrument's billing country.

ISIS finally open

https://www.paywithisis.com/...... But it contains some caveats- 1) you have to go into an AT&T store to get an ISIS compatible SIM, and 2) don't bother if you're rooted. Even with the 'Secure Element' located on the SIM, they're still blocking rooted users.
I've rooted and Google Edition'd mine, so I'll just wait for 4.4 and Wallet, should be a couple of weeks.

[Q] bypass android market restriction

Hello,
I am trying to download a game that is only released in Canada, how can I download the game and by pass the country restriction that is associated with my account?
Thank you.
Try using a VPN that terminates in Canada like BTGuard. Or ask, the developer to check off USA as a country that can download the app. It is a simple checkbox for them, I have published an app to Play, and I only selected USA, Canada, and the UK, but it can be changed with one checkbox.
Scott
I found some directions here, though for another VPN provider. http://help.unotelly.com/support/articles/60448-how-to-download-out-of-country-apps-from-google-play-store

This is easier: you need an app called Market-Enabler... it used to be in the play store but it was removed some time ago.
http://androidweeds.com/market-enabler/
If you have trouble finding or downloading it google up "MarketEnabler_v3113.apk"
Basically, root/busybox is required, and you clear data on the Play Store app, then run this and select a carrier that is local to the market you need (ie. some Canadian carrier in this instance), open and log into the Play Store, download and install your app, then close the Play Store, run the app again and restore your original settings.
Actually, I don't think VPNing into another country will work, it is based on code in the device itself and is irrelevant to your physical location or IP address allocation location.
Market enabler does not work. Nothing happens when I try to use it. Nothing changes.

I appreciate the help, however I have tried all of those methods. It seems google keeps track of the country where you created the account. I even tried creating an account using a proxy from the country I need and it still changed it to US after I logged into the account from my device. Im not sure why google is so strict with country restrictions, but its unfortunate.
The game is in beta stage right now and I have been in touch with the developer about bugs and such, and they will release the game in my country but in about a months time. I appreciate the help, xda members are the best.
