Hello All I have a noob question. There is a ClockworkMod recovery for a phone that is very similar to the phone I have they are the same brand almost the same chipset. The phone with the working recovery uses a Snapdragon 401 chipset my phone uses a Snapdragon 400 chipset. They also have the same partition tables supposedly. My question is will that recovery brick my phone if i flash it has a test? I realize that this is a pretty generic question but I just want to get to know a little bit more about how recoveries are associated with hardware.
I tried to learn and compile my own recovery image but then I realize I don't have a Linux box.
Thank you for any responses excuse my noobishness.

if that was the case they'd just merge galaxy s4 and htc one's forums together

Unfortunately you can't because of the different partition layouts of the device and the fact that ever device has it's own unique recovery.fstab which tells the recovery where to mount the /data partition, /cache partition etc. so that operations such installing files, and wiping partitions can occur. If your interested in getting Clockworkmod Recovery on your device I would recommend taking a look at this guide on porting Clockworkmod Recovery to a new device.
Thank you....I will see this guide

Since there isn't any TWRP available for your clone device you can try compiling TWRP for your device, if your interested in compiling TWRP for your device I would recommend taking a look at this guide to compiling TWRP (This guide on porting Clockworkmod Recovery is also worth taking a look at).

You should not have flashed a ClockWorkkMod that was not meant for your phone.
If you can get the stock package of your phone, you can find those recovery images and just copy it to the same location on your phone.
If your device is not rooted, then AFAIK it is very difficult

I just wanna know if there is any chances of getting bricked if i try to install recovery.img will render my device unoperable or will it just affect my recovery partition
Vast majority of the time you can not harm your phone flashing a recovery, even flashing the wrong recovery to your phone most often won't make it turn into a brick. But yes I have seen people use bad/wrong recoveries on some devices that bricked them.
Just be careful is all, male sure it is for your specific device and check md5um if possible

Ok what are the chances if am using an mtk device and using mtk tools to do it

Sorry but I don't know much of anything about mtk phones, but I'm sure like most phones if it is made specifically for your device there is almost no risk. It is very rare for there to be an issue, so if others who have your device says it works for them chances are it will work the same for you
Best of luck!
