Unless you changed /system, the easiest way is to reinstall the ROM
doesn't work
Doesn't work on CM11 android 4.4.4, samsung galaxy ace gt-s5830 M/i. Permissions set to 0755, 0770, 0666. For each change device rebooted. Loop on "obtaining IP address" and ends with "avoided poor connection".
EDIT: none of the versions worked (v1, v2).
Unfortunately this does not work for m8 having CM12 installed.
I relplace the dhcpd with your v3 and set permission same as original file. After shutting down wifi it does not connect anymore.
Just patched my Samsung S3 L710t running Liquid Smooth (Lollipop) with v3 and it's screaming fast. Thank you for this!
Hi guys, any try with Lollipop based?
Is the latest version dhcpcd-v4.img? And how do I install it if it's an .img file? Thanks.
Edit: nevermind I figured out it's the unzipped file with an img extension due to XDA needing one
v4 not working
Using your version 4 on my m8 with CM12 installed, I get the following error:
DHCPREQUEST from Host 00:ef:ad:9a:4d:9f (android-d1e2613d07e41155) without Discover, NAKed
This message comes from the Dualserver for Windows.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/dhcp-dns-server/
I guess there is something not working well with your changed dhcpd.

Here it is.
Its working well until i want to use Tunein Radio. After screen off TR stop buffering.
Looks like patched dhcpcd have kind of sleeping policy implemented.
Does not work
Hi @phhusson
Hi, does not work on Htc One S Sense 5 Android 4.2.2.
tried all 4 version but nothing.
Attaching logcat.. can you'll find the cause if disconnecting?
Thank you very much.
it's mod working
Good job! Thank you so much!
I'm install zip with v3 from paranoid droid 5.1.1 _ i9100 , after my wi-fi open very quickly websites . Bravo!
P.S. Please make v4 from zip file - I want try it.

Just a note to all. NEVER copy over a file without saving a backup first. In fact, rename the old one to filename.orig (add en extra extension to keep all the original filename) and then copy the new one. This preserves original permissions. If something goes wrong, delete the changed file and rename the original back. Sometimes you may not find bugs for months.

please, how i can support arabic language in Complete FroYo Bundle** FRX07.1 (rhod100)??
http://ardoid.com/
It's been asked before, this is the answer. However, this is for native Android devices, and I'm not sure anyone figured out how to get it working on our port. I never did figure it out, but I'm far from an expert on this stuff.
Here's how it worked for me: (Originally provided here)
1 - Download the "libskia.rar" attached to this post.
2 - You will need the latest version of a program called "Root Explorer" (tested with 2.17.1). Download and install it on your device, and don't forget to give it superuser permissions when you run it for the first time.
3 - Extract the "libskia.so" file from the package, and copy it to the "system/lib" folder on your device using Root Explorer. Use the "mount r/w" button to give the program permission to overwrite the file.
4 - Android should restart itself automatically when you copy the file. If it doesn't, restart Android manually. Your device now shows Arabic letters correctly.
The only problem with this method is that it doesn't solve the RTL text direction problem, but it is indeed a very acceptable solution that enables you to use Android for daily use.
Try it and tell us what happens. It worked for me using FRX07.1.
Oh, and arrrghhh, thank you for your devotion and efforts to bring Android to the Tilt2. Why don't you mention this method in the FAQ so that it could be found more easily by FRX07 users? And best of luck with the GBX01 effort!

np, and glad someone made an easy guide.
Can you make one change? Can you actually attach the files instead of linking to another site? Thanks.
I will consider adding it to the FAQ, but honestly this question has only been asked maybe 2-3x in the 2 years I've been involved in this project... not a very 'frequently' asked question is my point .
Sorry for reviving a dead thread but I just wanted to know is XDAndroid deodexed or odexed, I have searched and at a guess I would say it is deodexed but I haven't found anything that gives me certainty so if anyone could answer I would be grateful.
Thanks in advanced
Just before anyone says what does this have to do with Arabic I have found this site (http://blog.devasque.com/) that seems to have a method that works across the board so I just wanted to give it a try. I will post my results
Also the method posted above is ok but it seemed to mess up my English documents.

It's AOSP... so I guess odexed? I honestly have no clue.
Arrrghhh, as you weren’t sure I thought I’d give it a go any way and after a lot of testing I found that it works so I’m guessing the rom is deodexed.
My findings, the latest patch to work on both the GB0C and FRX07.1 builds is 0.789 anything after that seems to cause either boot loops or freezes.
Also it seems to work very well with both the direction being correct and the letter displaying correctly joined.
So if anyone wants Arabic this seems like a good option, all you have to do is:
Download the 0.789 patch from http://blog.devasque.com/how-to-apply-patch/ and extract it.
Then copy the framework.jar file from the system/framework folder on your phone to the framework folder in the patch folder, after that run command.exe and follow the instructions. After it finishes you will find a new framework.jar in the generated folder just replace your old file with the new one and reboot and hopefully you should see all the Arabic and like fonts displayed correctly.
There are instructions on the site but they are for the newest patches, the instructions I have posted are from what I did with this older version they are very similar just some minor folder name changes and less files to be converted.
Just like to say all the credit goes to Madmack and the people that have worked with him.
Cool, I'm sure that will help some people

Who is this tutorial for?
Tools Required : (Update them manually and report me dead links please)
Step one: Installing the JAVA JDK, Cygwin and Setting up the Kitchen.
*Before you do anything install the java jdk*
INSTRUCTIONS
Download and extract the cygwin_packages.zip
Run the set up(make sure there is no previous cygwin installation)
when it shows all the package names, go to the top and select "all default" until it changes to "all install" (you must click on the arrows)
Download the kitchen from above. Then, extract the kitchen's .zip file to a folder under your home account. Rename the dsixda-android-kitchen-*** folder to just "kitchen". In Cygwin, this folder would depend on what was set for your Cygwin install directory, e.g. C:\cygwin\home\John\kitchen
NOTE!! If your user folder contains spaces (e.g. C:\cygwin\home\John Smith\kitchen), then the kitchen will not function properly. Instead, copy it under C:\cygwin\home\kitchen.
Now your ready to run the kitchen type:

Hi guys; does anyone knows if this version of Miui 4.8.10 supports Bluetooth 4.0?
I want to buy a heart rate monitor which works with bluetooth 4.0 only.
Thanks
Already after several adjustments to taste it enough ... I have good critiques ... it´s amazing!!!!!.... and simultaneously ..... i have doubt several...
I read a lot of page of the post and i did not find response to my questions.
There we go:
1.-I see that there are 2 compressed files ZIP to flash for switch between the internal and external SD. but i don kow how it works...., I see that it is impossible to see both SD atthe same tme in this rom?
So there the question is .. of what does it(he,she) serve punctually these compressed files ZIP? I do not want to exchange memoes ... only I want to see the two like it it(he,she) was doing habitually in other ROMS.
2.-There are other one (different) compressed files ZIP flasheables to extract the CRT .. I used it and it works perfectly ... (it is a comment ....)
3.- Somebody can explain to me how change this compressed file ZIP flaseable to change the DPI? how many dpi in stock? and this zip change to?
4.- Where is the GPS?
5.-Since it is possible to disable the famous " slide the finger " of the loock screen? I ´m use a PIN to unlock.
6.- what´s is this app? chinnese app?
I send a screen
7.-I flashed the compressed file ZIP of the supersu .... but have I just noticed that this rom comes already roted? Or am I wrong?
only rest to me wait for yours support for help me.... and then... test the kernel apolo and see consumptions and use the BNL of course!!! !
Thanks to all.
I wait could help me.

Im on my phone right now, but you can do some editing of colors and images, which isnt too hard. You have to find the .edj files, use edje_decc to decompile them, you will end up with a edc file and a build.sh file to recompile.
Pretty much what i've found is we will not see custom watch faces on the lockscreen, till Samsung allows us. I have figured out some ways to customize the default digital time lock screen.
If you change any of the api permissions in the xml files make sure to update smack as it will reject it.
Ive been able to pull packages using Sdb. For instance I pulled, /usr/apps/com.samsung.w-contacts2, which has some images that are decompiled, like home screen icons. So I havent actually decompiled anything. Sdb pulls all of the folders and signatures. If I wanted to edit a couple of images then push it back to my watch, how would that be done?
For those that do not know what the directory structure looks like, as I asked in my previous post, download DiskInternals Linux viewer
http://www.diskinternals.com/linux-reader/ Open the program and browse to rootfs.img file of Cipherswitch and mount the image. It allows you to view the files on the image.
What exactly is Flora? I thought all linux distros were open source. Isnt Tizen based on Linux?

@ooms ya, when I pulled that particular app, it came in folders. Now that I think about it, its just a usr folder. I was hoping to theme the whole os.

So digging around, in the contact app folder in res/edje you have 4 .edj files you will need to decompile using edje_decc and edit then recompile.
Flora = http://floralicense.org/
So all the system apps in the source are already pre-compiled, there are some .h files that refer to the apps and "distributor" level api's but no .c files.
So till they release the source can't do too much custom stuff. Kind of like how they release the source of the Note boot loader but it's worthless because it's locked with proprietary information that they won't release.
Just the other way around.

Following the Gear S thread... quick question for another device...
@Cipher,
First of all, great thread, I've been following only for a couple hours and I've read every post from the last month or so (starting when it was posted by someone else and taken over by you in this thread) I'm excited to get started on rooting my Gear S.
On another note altogether though, I was wondering if you knew of a resource where I could get info on rooting the Galaxy S4, AND Galaxy S4 active. I'm currently trying to root both to work with DoCoMo here in Japan and I've read some success stories but have had no luck myself. I'm fairly versed in Linux, Android, and some rooting experience with other devices but I can't seem to get these ones to cooperate.
I've tried the "TowelRoot" and the other vairiant from Geohot with no success. I just finished my 7th attempt with the Kingo root, again, no success. Both Galaxy phones are running 4.4.2. One is the "active" variant, and one is straight up S4. I'm ultimately trying to get all my devices to work on the DoCoMo network here in Japan and I know I can do it with the right resources. Any help you can provide is GREATLY appreciated. Please feel free to email me if you have the time. Keep in mind we are 15 hours or so ahead of you guys so it may take me a minute to respond. Thanks again, I look forward to hearing from you.

Try this ;
1)Take nandroid backup
2)copy and replace the contents of the Dolby.zip into your rom.zip
3) Wipe system , data , cache and flash the modified rom.zip
4)see if it works ..
If it doesn't then you may need to patch framework as this one may not work for you without patching .

You can't decompile a odexed framework file and so , you can't follow the method in the link . Why have you posted link for older port in the newer port thread with no framework modifications required.
I have just said that I've read a thread(the posted link) that contains details on how to decompile the framework.jar and I wanted to ensure that the process WOULD be the same when recompiling the framework.jar file. Well since you did say no... You could have just said no instead of questioning me about why I posted the link. Other than that... Thanks for notifying me.

hi my name is vamsi krishna and i am from india i am using Xiaomi Red Mi Note 3g so now i want to install this Dolby digital to my phone so tell me how to install this app in my phone with out rooting and all because i dont know that all if it is like an app please give me the link or else suggest that app to install in any other manner by step by step. thank you.
Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital working simultaneously
Amazing sound and thank you very for the genius who ported these mods over and made it available for free. What a gift!!! Mine works flawlessly, and managed to get both Atmos and Dolby Digital to work together and the sound gets even more spacious and cleaner.
But I have a question, from time to time, in random turns, any one of the 2 will suddenly stop working, no force close or anything, both app will be open but one of them have stopped working and the sound would be noticeably different, which means less of the large spacious soundstage of both combined. Now the only solution that I have seen that seems to work to fix this is to wipe the Dalvik and restart, then they would both work and again later on, at an random interval of time one will stop working. Uninstalling and reinstalling after that will not work, as long as I clean the Dalvik cache. There I no need to reinstall as long as I clear Dalvik. So does anyone know what is happening, and what I should be doing to get them to work all the time.
Why to use it instead V4A?
Can someone send me Dolby digital zip here or on mega
