[Q] Disable Bluetooth Range Vibration... - LG G Watch

I cannot seem to figure out how to block the vibration notifications that occur when I walk in and out of range of bluetooth on my phone.
My watch is constantly buzzing on my wrist as I move through different rooms of my house, and I certainly don't want to take my phone every time I get up. I'm not talking about a card notification, but it's a little cloud that appears and disappears on every watch face I've tried, including facer, stock, watchmaker, and third party watch faces.
Does anyone know of a way to disable that vibration alert?
thanks.

Mine doesn't notify me if I walk out of coverage, so I'm guessing the setting is there somewhere. I'm guessing it's an app doing it rather than android wear.

thx

You were right... After a little nosing around I found an app called "Top Wear Apps" that was causing the issue. I really thought it was a common thing... I'm glad it's fixed!
Thank you so much!!! it was driving me crazy!!

Random notification sound and vibration

Hello all. I have noticed that several times a day my phone will vibrate and the notification sound will play. I look at the phone and i do not have any message. I know it's not roaming because I am right in front of a cell site and have great signal. I did a search and found that folks were having this issue with a yahoo mail app, yet I do not have this app. I am on stock with the latest OTA (until new root comes out). Any ideas? I guess i can live with it as everything else works, but I'm worried that a message might be coming through and i'm missing it.

I would have to go through HTC to unlock the bootloader though correct? Want to keep this off the grid as much as possible.

Well when the facebook notifications happen i typically see an icon. I went ahead and disabled the notifications anyways and i'll see where i'm at in a few days I guess.
I am married, but I can say that if a woman of mine ever made a pro twilight post, I would remove her from my life.
unfriended with extreme prejudice! My Facebook notification was pretty sporadic, sometimes it would only appear for the length of time the vibration was happening.
So far, no vibrations. Maybe that was it...
I have had similar issues when I had the Yahoo mail app installed. You can turn off system notifications but it still makes the sound. I since just use the default mail app so not sure if it's still an issue.

Random vibration

I recently noticed that every once in a while, seems like every hour or so that my s4 will vibrate once, and only once with absolutely no indication of why, no sort of notification, and I am losing my mind trying to figure out what is causing it. I have gone through a bunch of apps and disabled any kind of notification, uninstalled lots of apps and yet, it still happens. Does this happen to anyone else and or does someone know why? I am on mdk. Thanks.
Bump. No one has run into this..? Googling the issue has been useless.

Does it happen only when you pick up the phone? If so, this is an optional feature that indicates you have unread messages. That's about the only thing I can think of.
this also has been happening to me. i started noticing this at night

No, it can happen when it is in my pocket off, or when I am using it even.
Bmup. Still happens, tried using notification history app, and that showed nothing when the phone vibrated.
Bump. I've experienced this randomly myself.
I've noticed that if I have emails in gmail that I didn't check like" promotions" as the sperate it then mine does that. Might zero you in on a target.

i had the same issue. in my case it was vibrating everytime i got a new email on the outlook.com app. even though i turned off all notification for that app it still vibrates.
I checked those other things already and it was still doing it. Though I believe I just figured it out in my case. Handcent privacy box. It had sent message notification in the status bar disabled and yet, it was set to vibrate every time, so that made it vibrate shortly after sending a text without any sort of notification. Hopefully that's the only reason for me.
random vibrations well
I've been noticing this too as of recent. While not in use, it tends to sit on my desk next to me. There is no set time, notification, or anything I can see triggering these vibrations. Really bugs the heck out of me.
Well I feel comfort in that I am not the only one it is happening to, and apparently the handcent thing didn't fix it, it just now vibrated for no reason. I'm completely stumped ugh.

I would backup all of your 3rd party apps, uninstall them, then see if it's still happening. Then if it's not doing it just restore one by one until you find the culprit.

Yeah its a good idea, but it would take ages to execute. Since the vibration happens randomly I would have to have the phone on my person at all times and if it happens just once in a day then I'd be restoring a single app at a time

What might be faster would be just to freeze the apps with TiBu, then it would only take a second to restore them. It might take a few days to track down, but it'll save you the hassle of having to deal with it long term

That's the culprit for me too. It's very very annoying. I have notifications turned off within outlook.com but it still vibrates when I get a new email. It must have been one of their updates that broke this because it never used to.

The solution to that would be to go into app info for outlook.com and disable all notifications.

I've done that. It doesn't stop
Hmm, that is very strange. For me, if the vibration is disabled within the app, and all notifications are disabled app settings, then i get no more vibration. Did you try reinstalling outlook and or rebooting?

[Q] Pandora navigation won't go away

Hi guys,
I listened to pandora last night, I've closed and reopened pandora a dozen times trying to get the Pandora navigation card off my LG G watch but it won't leave and I can't dismiss it. Any ideas?

I want to resurrect this thread. I'm the one who posted the issue in the thread above, but I agree this deserves its own thread.
I've emailed back and forth to Pandora support, and they wash their hands of it, and told me to talk to LG. I'm of the opinion that if there were no native Wear support for Pandora, how does it work in the first place? It displays album art and allows you to pause, play and skip. The Pandora support monkey says they don't support Wear, period.
Sorry for any confusion, but as I mentioned before, we do not support Wear functionality. The card may be appearing due to the way LG identifies music playing on your phone. Since we have not yet created an implementation for Android Wear, there isn't anything we can change to fix this.
Again, I'd recommend reaching out to LG about this issue to see if there is anything they can do about the music card on their end.
Let me know how that conversation goes.

Wear simply pulls the image, text, and buttons from a notification. In the case of media playback, it pulls that functionality from the same place your lockscreen does to display the art and pause/next functionality. Music apps don't need to do anything to work with Wear. I feel like what they're saying is true... Because I've encountered this bug on a few other apps. I think it's a bug in the Wear software itself (or just bad code on the developer's part). I figured it might have something to do with media apps not releasing themselves from the system correctly so Wear doesn't realize the app has stopped and no longer wants to display track info.
You can change watch face or open Amazon prime music and Swype off to get rid of it. prime works as it should.

While it may be a case of evolving functionality, I think it's chickenshark of Pandora to simply dish it off on LG or Google. I would hope that they'd take some ownership in the matter, and contact LG themselves to see what might be done, or offer some workaround. They just told me to go pound sand.

Oh, that definitely sounds like Pandora to me. They're incredibly lazy. Look how many years it's taken them just to get playback controls in the ongoing notification.
Found a workaround in the other thread on this topic. If you press Pause on the Wear card, you can then swipe right to dismiss it.

Works for some people, hasn't worked for me.
EDIT: Correction. This now works for me. Weird.
Same with Sticher or TuneIn for me...
I have had this happen for Sticher and TuneIn as well. I placed the watch in "airplane mode" and the notification on the watch immediately went away. Turned off "airplane mode" on the watch and everything was normal.

Newbie Questions

I have several questions that are frustrating me right now. Just over a week with this watch.
1) I am using the stock 3 dial watch face and want to have the weather dial use The Weather Channel or some other source for the weather besides Google Now. Does anyone know how to do this?
2) Today, the Fly Delta app showed me a boarding pass from last week 4 times. I finally had to block the application from working. What is the mechanism that makes this happen? I want to be able to use the boarding pass when needed, but what possesses it to send the boarding pass on it's own "good will". Especially when the flight was 7 days ago? If I am standing at the gate, what action do I take if the boarding pass isn't there?
3) Google Now keeps sending me notifications to leave for meetings even for appointments that I do not have notifications set up for. I have seen this many times over on older threads. I just want one notification on my watch and it should match what I have setup on my phone. Is there any solutions to this?
It seems that Google now is just running away with my watch. Not a positive experience so far.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I didn't get any responses so I figured I would update based on what I learned since this post

I moved to Pujie Black watch face app and this issue is resolved. Very impressed with this app. Awesome customization and very easy to use. He appears to use other weather sources and they have been rock solid. I would still like to make it the same as the weather app of my choice.

I disabled Google Now and it is working much better. The watch mimics the notifications that I have on my phone. For any app that I don't want relayed to my watch, I can block those notifications to my watch. Pretty happy with this setup.

Google reminders auto-dismissing themselves

Hi folks,
I've got a weird issue for some time back now. It regards the reminders in the Google app, you know "remind me to do this and that at 2pm". They show up in many apps now like Inbox, calendar and so forth. Very useful, but I have a severe issue: they automatically dismiss themselves a second after they are going off. I hear the sound, and look down at my watch or the phone and I see the notification pop up and then immediately disappear again automatically. When I go into reminders I see them being checked off, marked done, without me doing anything. The problem only arise with timed reminders "at 2pm, in 2 hours" etc. When I set a location reminder "remind me to buy milk at coop", the resulting reminder stay in place as expected.
Any suggestion on what to do? I've got the latest Google app, from the beta channel but as I said this problem has been there a long time now, months likely. I'm on a S7 Edge.

Oh, so no point in trying to find a problem in my own device then. Incredible they aren't getting to it until NOW. It's been there for months now.
I am having this issue too and I use it all the time.
I ended up coding a notification replacement in Tasker using autonotification. It works but I lack the feature to postpone (since the real reminder is already dismissed).
