Camera launching sound 'location'. - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys. Please help me out (if you can/will ).
Does anyone know where the camera launch sound is located. I mean the sound you hear when opening/launching the camera with the hardware button.
All the other camera sounds i can find in the system/media/sounds folder, but for the life of me i can't find that annoying launching-sound-file.
I have found a xposed module that shuts it up, but i still would like to know
Thanx in advance.

When you turn the sounds off in the camera app its self it turns off all the sounds for the camera
I think the other sounds are in the camera app its self

Hey Envious,
Thanx for your reply.
Ofcourse ! I never thought about it being inside the APK (if thats what you mean).
Because i really can't find any other option to turn it off. I've looked through a ton of system folders and the setting inside the camera-app itself, sadly, does not turn of that launching sound either.
Oh well. Luckily that xposed module for the Z1 works

[Q] xperia x10 camera

My x10 Xperia phone's camera does not work for whatever reasons. It worked before, as for now, I had to use the app from the market to take picture (but without zoom feature).
Sorry if this thread topic had been asked.
have you tried by clickin on the camera icon instead of the button?
if is not working i might say that the app is screwed so a fw reinstall, update or if anyone sends the app to you will work

I downloaded the app called: CamerFun Free (or something like that but no zoom in feature though)
I got the camera to work but only with Touch Capture mode.

Tried it, did not work my friend. So, that was the reason why I used the TouchCapture mode now. Deleted the CamerFun app just now.
idk then, sorry for not being able to help ya more
yes what is up with my new phone ???
What the piehole??!!!!!... the same crap has happened to my camera about 2 weeks ago... and I have never flashed the phone ever.... i thought it was a drop that somehow rattled the phone....
1. I open the camera apk and when i click on the camera button the entire application turns off.... if i attempt to zoom in....nothing!!!....
2. I was forced to downloaded camera 360 pro (free of course) .. installed it just to get to take a pic...this app allows me to use the screen as a camera button.... even with this apk....camera 360 says "your camera does not support focus adjusting"....wtf!!!!
3. Does the camera.apk have a time out limit....? Where can we get the default apk back
camera fix
okay i uninstalled both camera 360 and camera 360 pro
then go to... settings ... applications ... camera and then "Clear data"
change ...capture mode ...to "touch capture" [ bypasses "faulty" camera button]
everything seems to work .... with zoom now...

Can't turn off shutter sound after ota?

Title says it, I don't have that option to turn it off. Is it just me?
I think the update removed it..
I've also had more freezeups after the update, along with unresponsive touch screen until you lock and unlock. Anyone else have an increase in these issues?

i haven't loaded the update yet. on mine, withouth the latest 2.08 update, i have an option in the camera settings under geotag, etc, which says shutter sound with a check box. this is disappears after the latest OTA to 2.08?
are you able to adjust the volume down with the external volume rocker and see if that prevents the shutter? although its a lame work around, ihope it helps as its better than nothing ..
i personally dislike the shutter sound and its kinda lame/fake and not really needed so i'm glad they have provide the option to shut this off in the past...thanks for the heads up on this!
correct no more option to turn off sounds
with all sounds disabled/muted it still makes noise
the volume rocker is zoom in the camera app (for those that didn't know)
There has been a bill in Congress introduced in 2009 to require cell phone cameras to "click". Its called the Cell Phone Camera Preditory Alert Act. So far, it hasn't had much traction. Maybe HTC knows something we don't?
crappy fix, grab the old camera, put it in place of the new one, change permissions and reboot
Set up with no sound, then copy the new cam app back, fix permissions, reboot and voila.
POOR method. Restore from titanium might also work, haven't tested that.
make a profile with "Tasker".
when camera app is active, all sounds are disabled.
thats what i do with my legend, using CM7...
but on my evo i can disable the shutter sound!?
Also, looks like it removed mirror app that was tied with the camera app.
do u removed mirror app?
i have it already installed, and turned shutter sound off.

shortcut to the "good" method above would be somebody with the shutter sound turned off can post their preference file and ppl can download/copy that into their camera app directory ...

Hey joey, thanks. Any idea why mirror is missing also? This is with a clean install. When I overwrite my nand backup it works but then native screenshots don't work.
Will somebody post up there camera preferences please.

It's not a "good" method, it's a crappy work around. I like your method better. Anyone got the file?
Shutter Sound App Fix!!
Hey all...I've spent the last 2 days looking for anything to get rid of the shutter sound, or at the least, enable us to turn it off WITHOUT having to root my phone and void the warranty. The ONLY fix that I found, was to download this Silent Snap app at this link: m.androidzoom.com/.../silentsnap-camera_gfij.html After I downloaded it, it took care of that annoying shutter sound, and even better, the app is FREE to download!!! I hope this helps!
Silent Snap
Just letting you all know, that you don't have to use the app every time to make the Shutter Silent...
Just open the app once to turn the Shutter off...but please notice it also puts your phone on silent as well...But once you've opened the app, and exited out of it, you can now use your Volume Down Button to put your phone on Silent, and it will also turn the Camera Shutter off!
I recommend not staying within the Silent Snap App, because after taking about 3 or 4 pictures, it brings up ads, so just be sure to use your regular camera when taking pics to resolve this issue.

[Q] Issues with xperia sola

hello to everyone,
i recently bought an xperia sola and i am very happy with that. After some days usage i discover some issues with my phone and i believe you can help me.
First of all the camera doesn't work with the camera button and to be more specific when i push the camera button does nothing and if i get into the camera app and push the button again i cant get any picture. So i changed the settings of the camera app and now i can take pictures by touching the screen.
whats wrong with the button? Is that a hardware problem or is software?
Also when i make some phone calls the picture of my friends those i choosed to appear when they call me some times are full screen but the most of the time are too small. The pics i choosed are taken from my phone camera.
Do you know anything about this?
Thank you very much and sorry for my bad english

i dunno abt the pic problem
for the hard camera button, u have to dig it in reeeeal deep for it to take a pic
(which by the way causes ur hand to shake so unclear pic--better continue to use onscreen button
It took me over a week to realise that the camera button has two positions (like the shutter button on most digital cameras). I first thought the camera was very buggy or that I had set it to some mode where it wouldn't take a picture unless focus was good or something like that.
So, just make sure you press it all the way down.
As for the pictures I have no idea, I never make calls (I'm deaf).
thank you guys for the answers

how to disable the shutter of the camera in galaxy s3

before i use the camera it doest have sound then i found out the next day when i use it, it has sound then im trying to look at the setting, and ask somebody they didn't found out too, please help.
There is no setting. The sound files are under /system/media/audio/ui, though, and are easily identifiable by their names. I guess you know what to do now, do you
Just put the phone in silent or vibrate if you have the latest firmware and the camera sound is gone.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
If you disable system sounds and notifications (what would you sue them for anyway) the camera shutter will also be silent.

[Q] Is there a way to adjust the m7's vibration intensity?

I just switched to ARHD 31.0 from CM 10.2 (had terrible battery life, but I loved the light vibration notification) and I forgot how intense the vibration is on the Sense ROMs. I turn my phone on vibrate only at work to be respectful of others, but honestly this phone's vibration is just as loud as having a ringtone. It's way too much. Does anyone know of a way to reduce the vibration intensity? I've looked all over the forums and haven't found much info other than taking apart the phone....
I know that you can adjust the length and pattern of the vibration, but I really need a way to turn this down significantly. Thanks.
This isn't quite what you asked for, but is my solution to the same problem.
It seems like most of the volume associated with the vibrate function is due to being placed directly on a hard surface that will transmit and intensify the noise. If you place something that doesn't transmit the vibrations well it drastically reduces the volume while still letting you hear the phone when at your desk. I use a small carpet sample (about 8"x6") as a coaster on my desk and when I put my phone down I place it on that as well. It really cuts down on the noise, but not enough that you won't notice it when at your desk. If the carpet is in use, I just place my phone on a pad of post-its or a note pad, which doesn't work quite as well, but close enough for my situation.

***Easier method***
If you want to get rid of vibration completely, but without putting your phone on silent, just use App Ops! You need something to launch the activity, there are App-ops launchers in Play Store or you could just use a Tasker task. Once you're in, just go through all your apps and untick the "Vibration" permission!
No root required!!!
<<< Please say thanks if I was of help!
