Hello developers have a question for you, be without some apk like "go remote" work on LG G2? For example the Smart Remote samsung G2 mini because the functions I see in the quick remote LG G2 are very few in both the G2 Great as the kids. Thank you for your attention. :good:
Nope. LG phones are not supported by any other remote app except LG's QuickRemote since it use its own proprietary closed interface rather than standard Android interface. Sorry.

I know the thread is old, but, you can try to use Custom Rom.
Hello everyone, i just buy this exelent device and im very proud to use it and i love it anyway! But unfortunally the quickremote inside the software of LG doesnt work with my LED TV, i have an Hannspree LED TV and i know's this brand is an remix of Samsung/LG etc brands, i have tryed the Samsung code and my TV IR blinks but nothing happens on TV.
I have tryed the Smart Remote app from Google playstore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.remotefairy
...but doesnt work, the IR on G Pad doesnt blink anyway. So, if anyone can help me to find any app to make this device working i will stay very happy.
Thanks and sorry for my ugly english!
Only quickremote will work on G pad
Sent from my LG-V500 using XDA Free mobile app

No, it not works on the gpad
hey guys,
the qickremote app on my d620r (sw official 5.0.2 V20a-EUR-XX) is rather limited. the only things it allows you to control are tv, blue-ray, and dvd.
however, i have seen screenshots from other lg phones (for example g2) which show much more functionality (like controlling a set-top box, audio, etc., and even an option "universal remote", whatever it is).
i have tried installing other remote control apps from the play store, but none of them seem to work for the g2 mini.
i also tried to install the apks from the g2 and g3, also without any results.
so here come my questions:
has anyone more functionality in their quickremote app than i do?
has anyone managed somehow to port this app from another lg phone with success?
has anyone encountered a 3rd party ir remote app which actually works?
thanks in advance!
The IR blaster only supports the things you see.
Plus, it is locked to only support the stock app (Quick Remote).
hey there ,
i am using IR blaster since LG g3. mostly with unified remote application.
Now , as we know huawei mat 20 pro can learn IR codes too from native inbuilt application , when i try to learn from unified remote application i get an error message "your device is not supported "
while on LG g5 i am getting 2 options to select while learning from unified remote application.
1 is Android IR blaster
2 is LG inbuilt IR blaster
Learning is only possible if you select LG inbuilt ir blaster in unified remote application.
On huawei mat 20 pro i cant find 2nd option. and Android IR blaster cant learn codes.
anyone have any suggestions or idea about how to grant access of IR receiver to 3rd party applications??
thank you !
AFAIK it's not a problem of access permission to the IR blaster, a remote app has to support the Huawei proprietary IR driver.
From the app support site:
Only certain Android devices are supported for IR. Note that Sony devices are not supported at the moment.
HTC One
LG G3 Transmitting and learning supported (Learned code will only work on LG G3)
Samsung devices with IR (S4, S6, Note 3, etc)

You might try the stock Huawei IR remote app.
