Hello, I recently rooted my Sony Xperia Z2 because I wanted to install a custom ROM, but this is where it gets tricky....
so i got root access and the bootloader unlock allowed is on "yes" so that's good right?..
anyway I've been trying to get into recovery mode but it just doesn't work at all, i also tried installing CWM and TWRP and even Philz but it was a failure because there is no way to get into recovery mode so, is there a way or something I could do to enter recovery mode to install a Lollipop ROM ?
ps: sorry if this thread is already made, i didn't find anything useful
Update: I have shut off my device, held the volume up connected to my pc and the LED turned BLUE! HOWEVER, there is nothing on the screen is just BLACK.

This is fastboot mode, not recovery.
Have you actually unlocked you bootloader? It needs to be unlocked before you flash lollipop. If it is unlocked, just download a kernel and flash it via fastboot.

Never seen that before. What are you typing in? Copy what you type and the response into a post.
Nowhere not confirmed that the bootloader is unlocked, but that can be unlocked. You wrote this - " /so i got root access and the bootloader unlock allowed is on "yes/". If you have locked bootloader, then don't try with fastboot flash boot boot.img. Just downloaded version of Dual recovery Installer for Pc.

I've tried to look around, and the only method I seem to find is to flash back to ics, root, then install it. But is there a way to install it on jelly bean without going back to ics?
I had successfully rooted my go before, but that was with bin4ry's easy root exe. I kinda regretted not installing cwm sooner when I was still rooted in ICS. I also have no idea how to fast boot on this phone, I read a guide before, but my phone goes into charging mode before I get to click anything.

OK last night I was stuck at step 13, but just this morning for some reason, my phone went on fastboot mode, and the computer automatically installed the drivers. Now that it's on fastboot, I tried moving on to step 14-15, this is where I get stuck again... It says open a cmd within the sdk folder, and enter the command on step 15, I get the message, "fastboot.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command." I checked both tools, and platform-tools, they both have fastboot.exe. what am I missing? I extracted the adt-bundle on my desktop if that helps.

Put the boot.img in platform-tools and open a command window from there (shift+rclick on empty spot > open command window from here)
Then try fastboot again. Should work with or without .exe
PS. How did you get this far with the steps and have fastboot not work if you went through unlocking bootloader?

Fastboot was already working, I just need to unlock the bootloader. How the fastboot driver installed, I have no idea, maybe it was when I restarted my pc this morning that sorted things out. The computer found the driver by itself for some reason. Another thing that probably help was when I pressed the volume up button by itself, and not with the power button.

So I tried looking around the forums for another method on unlocking the bootloader. And I tried the SE bootloader unlocker. It seemed to me it worked in unlocking the bootloader although I still don't know how to confirm, since I still get the error on my previous post. I tried moving on and flash the boot.img and I started to get the 4 flashing colors, but I'm a bit confused on step 5 and 6 in installing cwm. And I get the flashing colors everytime I restart my phone, is this normal? I'm not finish in installing cwm so that might be a reason.

4 flashing colors indicate boot.img was flashed successfully (because normal boot img doesn't do that). And you will be seeing that everytime while using this ROM. You should be able to boot to CWM by holding down vol- when it starts flashing and right after the vibrate. Keep it held til you see CWM. If that doesn't work, pop your question over there in that thread for OP to read.

I have a networked locked go (ST27i) on O2 network in the UK. The boot loader cannot be unlocked. I installed the latest generic firmware 6.2.A.1.100 via flashtool (to de-brand the O2 startup/shutdown sequence which slowed the phone a little). I rooted the phone via the DoomLoRD .bat exploit.
I have tried three versions of CWM from playstore and they all say they are incompatible with my device, so I cannot install it? As my bootloader cannot be unlocked I understand I cannot flash a custom kernel or use a custom rom.
I assume as the OP says (and after many hours reading), to install CWM recovery to a ST27i on the latest JB rom, you must flash the device from JB back to ICS, then install the CWM recovery/kernel. Then to flash the JB rom you do it through CWM and not via flash tool if you want to go back to JB, is that correct? Thus keeping the CWM recovery option on startup.
thanks in advance for any help with this!

You assumed it right. Installing CWM was actually quite easy, I was just not familiar with the steps provided on sony's website. Don't use the CWM from playstore, use the ones on this forum. Make sure the necessary files are installed, like ADB, and Android SDK tools, then install CWM through your PC with your phone connected on fastboot(Press volume up as you connect your phone). Replace the boot.img from the android platform-tools, with the boot.img from the CWM file you downloaded. Open command prompt inside platform-tools folder and type "fastboot flash boot boot.img " without the quote. When you see a bunch of numbers come up that means you have just successfully installed CWM, then type "fastboot reboot". If you see flashing colors during boot then that means you were successful. To go to CWM menu, wait for the led to flash then press volume down.

Flashtool has the option or through adb you use command boot boot img instead of flash boot img. It boots it only one time then reverts back to original one on next reboot.
Recently, i was on bootloop ... i tried to flash my original recovery and fastboot. But, i accidentally execute the wrong command... Now there's no way i cant get to bootloader or flash something again, any other ways?

You changed you kernel to a recovery.IMG, try and find a flashable.zip of your boot.IMG and flash via twrp
Although I'm not familiar with this particular device it should allow you to boot to bootloader regardless of kernel, at least any device I have used does this
Is the recovery a custom recovery? If so does it have an option to reboot to bootloader?
Otherwise try
adb reboot bootloader

Note that the Z2, like most other Sony devices does not have a proper bootable recovery. As such you have to install a kernel that includes a recovery with it. For a time I will try to continue to supply updated stock kernels repacked with TWRP in them. If you are running one of my kernels or have a custom ROM like OmniROM installed, you can install TWRP in the FOTAKernel partition to stay on the latest version of TWRP.

To install a stock kernel, boot the device into fastboot mode and then from your computer: fastboot flash boot path/to/filename.img

However is it true? With latest updates there was bootloader update which brings (or at least should as Sony said) /recovery partition (or more gives access to it, coz partitions was probably always there).
However how it exactly works? I always thought that onee flashed update with newest bootloader will leave new bootloader and this partition forever. But I got Z2 with .291, downgraded it to 4.4.2 for Root and TA backup and than tried to flash recovery to recovery partition, but got error: FAILED (data transfer failure (Unknown error)).
Does it mean that only on latest update(s) there is possibility to use this partition?
Never tried it on my ZU before. I just started form latest 5.1.1.
EDIT: OK, so what i assumed was right - on 6.0.1 I was able to flash the recovery to it's partition.
Now the problem is with booting into it. How? With Power + Vol- it still stright to boots to OS...
EDIT2: adb reboot recovery boots to different bootloader screen (Power+Vol- gives SONY screen and adb gives SONY + XPERIA screen.
However it still boots strght to Android...
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I have 23.5.A.1.291 + unlocked bootloader + TWRP 3.0.2-0 (official) flashed with fastboot flash recovery img.
I'm 100% sure that SONY screen (w/o XPERIA) is the right one as I have identical one on my ZU when booting into bootloader-recovery mode. But why here it don't boot TWRP, but OS?

Hello,
1.Ive rooted my phone emui 4.1 with kingroot
2. I've flashed Official twrp 3.0.2
3. After booting in twrp I tried to clear cache but it unable to clear cache.
4. Then I've force rebooted to recovery then all partitions got unmounted (shocked)
5. So I flashed mm kang ROM then phone bricked so I thought that stock recovery may mount all partitions so I flashed stock recovery (back up)
6. Finally I'm unable to boot in stock recovery and ROM
7. What do u think guys? How to solve this issue ??
Any one faced same problem?
***Main thing is what ever I try to push a file from adb to phone in fastboot mode (ex- recovery, boot.IMG) it says "writing recovery failed:command not allowed". why I'm getting this error ?? I've unlocked bootloader too ***

Yes in eRecovery I can see "update recovery" after connecting to wifi it says "failed to get device info"
I ran out of options.
You might want to try all the same, using different UPDATE.APP version, like B180 or B200, using a different cable, different computer, etc.
Then next step will be Huawei support, it might be a memory/hardware problem.
Sorry man.
