finally some good news if LG spits in our faces with it's so called updates, more talented devs keep their word and provide smth for us

great news , one question tho , does modules will also need to be rebuild "from scratch" like rovo said he had to rebuild xposed to work on LP. please don't get me wrong just curious and ignorant

Nope. Not unless they change changed system properties

Never used it myself but this is really good news for those that had to choose between LP and Xposed

I've been checking the xposed thread from time to time and in all my days on XDA I've never seen such a drunken orgy that's going on over there. Wow! Kinda entertaining tho. "My xposed isn't working..help" lol

I'm really impressed how popular xposed is, 2600 thanks in just 17 hours, that's 2.5 thanks a minute, i cannot even imagine how many really expensive paperweights will come out till rovo release something more "stable"

Probably not that many. Xposed doesn't mess with boot and recovery partitions - only with system. As long as you can enter recovery, you can always recover.

since this is for a different phone and is packaged with a kernel for that phone is this something we should have a .zip for atm? u didnt give much detail but since ur link says fascinate did u replace the spica's kernel with ours?
now the file conversion scripts looks promising, and htis does as well but their page says the kernel is in the package so i'm pass on flashing this =P

mhm noo,why?
im super confused as to what this is... a rom or a kernel or a mod? the OP was so vague
Getting some FCs on LPP, but it does blaze.
Edit: Getting a few more FCs. Skype, Rom Manager, plus a lot of games. I'll keep testing though. Running jt's clean Rom v0.4 and the 11/02 non-voodoo kernel.
Yeah, just too much closing, even without warning and not FCing, just backing to the homescreen. Updates will be awesome.

Just In Time Compiler (JIT) The best part of Froyo.
Guys, its not a kernel it adds files to libs and ect.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Ok so going through the Samdroid forum for info on this, I saw like 400 pages of posts. I saw nothing of a release for fascinate, only spica. I would really like to try this but have a few questions. Is everyone that is getting the FC's running voodoo or standard? Theres not much mention in these posts. Will this allow for Flash?
tons of fc
After running for a couple hours only got one fc, but most apps would not open on the first attempt. The screen would zoom and go black like the app was opening, then I'm sent back to the launcher. Second attempt would usually open the app.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I've tried running both the original and the updated version. For starters there's WAY too many FC's and the apps not opening on the first, second, or third try is obnoxious and I personally can't handle it and don't have the patience or time to open an application five times before it works. It's quicker but the FC's probably even it out. Right now it's personally not worth it, I'll keep playing with the releases until it's worth it. Good find though, keep up the good work.
Think ill just wait for froyo in a week or two

You have to switch versions to get it set up so it won't be in any ROM most likely. They could include a script executable to get the job done but that's about it.

it's likely that it won't, because when google wallet gets updated, it's pretty much useless. system will recognize the model of your phone and carrier and you'll be blocked immediately. If this incident happens, people will blame the developer that it doesn't function properly.

We ran into this on the GS3 on AT&T. We had a flashed installed, but then if you pulled the update down from Play it would hose Wallet. It was a simple - don't update Wallet and you had no problems.

You could stick it in there but it would be worthless. You have to edit the build prop while adding your cards then revert back to the original. Wouldnt make much sense to include when you have yo go through this anyways. Just flash the zip its the only extra step.

Have you flashed Google wallet with different rom builds or totally different roms before?? It's not as easy as just simply flashing a couple files like on the S3 and editing the build.prop back, and your done...? I have already had to re-do my wallet and it has been a TEDIOUS experience... I think everyone that has done it a few times could tell ya but it's just different somehow, I think they stepped up security or something with this phone it seems... I can follow a guide to a "T" and it will do something different than my last flash... This has got to be one of the mods that makes me not wanna change roms so frequently like I used to... Don't know what the deal is though? I finally got my current Beans 4 setup ( and fully functional ) with the wallet mod, s-pen sound mod and Perseus kernel so I am happy, but the wallet mod was the longest and most tedious part of upgrading roms IMO. It's a must have for me seeing as tons of places use it around my location and it just makes things simpler. And you never have to worry about forgetting your ( back pocket ) wallet! While I don't really think that it could be included in a rom, I think that there has to be a better way than what it is now...

Then you'll soon or later run into compatibility issue. It may work for a few weeks, but may not work afterwards. It seems like current google apk recognizes our carrier and model via build.prop. The only way to make the google wallet to work as of right now is by temp. changing build.prop to nexus and switching it after overwriting the legit apk with modded one.....and this is not an easy process. So developers can't just integrate the wallet in the rom......it won't work. lmao

Hopefully the physical Google Wallet card and Google Wallet apk to go with get released in the near future so we don't have to deal with this nonsense anymore.
I dicked with the Google Wallet setup and my ass was had man, I screwed up right at the end trying to get the build.prop file to edit properly and when I screwed it up, I got the neverending boot cycle, effectively bricking my device. It sucked ass and required a ton of shenanigans to fix. FML

CM more and more go to the wrong way, I think. It was a bloatware free interface highly tweakable and sure it require some patience (no skills needed for flash or unlock device) but it was worse the time spent to know how to do all the step. Now it become full of bloatware and go on commercial way. Every good things seems to one day, for the name of accessibility (popularity) lose its identity.

I'm in the same boat with grandfathered unlimited data plan...honestly the mega is sick...and if you root your i527 and put setcpu on it you'll see a massive improvement. I think shayne is testing out the settings I run mine on with stock kernel. Just keep it and see how it goes. I'm a huge tinkerer and dev, working in a custom kernel for the mega and still run rooted stock that I themed with xposed and wanam, combined with max clock it's as near as a custom rom as you'd want, with all the stability and speed of a rom. If you just download xposed and wanam the amount of customizations are literally endless.

Are you running the ATT version also?
I have often wondered in my 100's of flashes I have done, is it the custom rom that is necessary, or can I get all tge tweaks I really need just by using the Xposed Module.
I do like the phone alot, but I have held off on the root until I decided to keep and I feel I have read enough about it. As Shayne knows, I can really EFF things up if I want too.
In the past with Xposed, I have had reasonable success in modding, of course it could have been me or conflicting options on phone. Does it seem to be fully functional with rooted Mega?

Not with the mega...i have a note 3 n900a att...at least for me, I still try rom, and help some of my friends develop them but I pretty much stopped doing full devs of roms since all the tweaks you'd want can be done to stock with xposed and now wanam, plus stock rom stability. I really only build kernels and flash kernels and theme or tweak my own stock builds. Always heavily themed, sometimes I do some xml or build prop alterations...but since 4.2 I've run pretty much stock with tweaks as I've found it generally faster, smoother and more stable...Especially with certain kernels. And I have to say for a stock kernel the mega has a great one, and is really streamlined and efficient in the source code.
stick with your megas fellas trust me I have several devices l around and I always go back to my mega

---------- Post added at 03:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:41 PM ----------
And just for the sake of clarity...everything I do, or other devs do either can be done, or is actually done thru xposed and the subsequent modules...so yes you can do everything I woukd do building you a rom in xposed, minus say deodexing or other tweak, which these days with the new krait chips is really unnecessary tbh. The chips are so powerful and efficient in the mega and the quad version of it in the note 3 don't need or show really any noticeable gains by many of the old tricks anymore. So my 2 cents on it...keep the mega, it's the best all round device I own, and by far my favorite. Run xposed, and wanam and I can almost guarantee you won't be missing a single thing.
Mega
I haven't used Xposed, but I'm pretty darn happy with the Mega stock rom. I'm running 4.4 on my captivate and my asus tf300t. The 4.4 is nice and smooth and small! I'm sure we will see a 4.4 update eventually for the mega. Google's ART feature is still very experimental, once they get that matured and implemented in their 4.4 builds, I'm sure even light weight devices will see the performance benefits.
Having root and being able to remove bloat was a big bonus for me. If I like themed roms, I would most certainly play with Xposed. The battery life on this Mega is something wonderful! Worth keeping the phone just for that reason.
Actually, after rooting and removing ATT and Samsung bloat, I am pretty happy with stock. I alternate between Nova and everything.me launchers.
Believe me, I have been a flashing addict. I have tried every rom available for my 3yo Nook Color, Captivate, Infuse, Note 1 and Nexus 7. And I have tested roms for 4 different Devs.
I find it's refreshing for everything on my phone to work without having to use a third party app (although it is boring)!!! I'm keeping my Mega, but I will probably never use ATT again, unless all the other carriers start locking their phones also.

Im in the same page here.. if rooting works for me is more than enough. I have removed all the "junk" apps and im happy with the stability of the mega and software. Yes is nice to use different roms and have options but at the end of the road as long as there are ways to "personalization" of the mega software im happy. I might miss the kernel abilities.. specially overclocking...
I appreciate the feedback folks and I am in. Stability is the key and I have experience with multiple device. Trusted advice is a valuable thing to and I beleive that is what I am getting here.
I now only need to find the trusted files and instructions on rooting this thing. I think I found them last night, around p40 in the "bounty for root" thread. However, I have always been hesitant about going into build prop and making changes. So I guess I need to read more.
Thanks again folks, ill be around.

[Rom] jd's open aosp builds [LYZ28E] [July 13,2015]

Instead of creating a flashy op with lots of colors and texts sizes with lots of logos and banners I'm going to keep this very simple, and short.
This rom is basically my modification of the Android Open Source Project. It is my vision of a "perfect android", which is clean and works like it should.
The modifications I've made are just simple things to make "stock" AOSP more usable, my feature set is small basically I just added a "close all apps button" to the "recents" screen and added more functionality to the AOSP Music and Voice Dialer apps as well as remove some of the old Google code from the Calendar and Gallery2 apps. I plan to do a little more as I see it "useful" and "needed", but for the most part this will mainly stay a very pure AOSP rom.
So as far as I have tested everything works (including AOSP MMS) if something is broken let me know and also keep in mind that anything rom you flash should be treated as beta software so don't expect gold when I'm offering wood.
Download: http://d-h.st/YngZ July 13, 2015
P.S.
Don't expect a change log, that would be more professional than I'm willing to be for the cost of free .....
Urgh.... No fireworks in the OP?
Great, at last something original.
Running great man! Thanks for sharing your work! Is there any way or even possible to make a flashable zip to have smart lock? Again thanks for sharing!
Great to see another ROM thrown in the ring. Will have to try this without all the glittery stuff. Hope you stay awhile

Great to see another ROM thrown in the ring. Will have to try this without all the glittery stuff. Hope you stay awhile

I never really leave I just do ish like buy iPhones or a Galaxy something then get pissed cause its not what I want ...
this is a very nice treat! thanks a lot for this original work. it seems very stable for me.
Downloading now and thanks for the ROM. I was looking for no frills ROM exactly like this. Bookmarked this thread as favourites.
OK so this more might be due to me being on the M v2 boot loader, radio and boot.img.
When I flashed this, to test WiFi calling, it said I had no OS installed in twrp. I rebooted anyway, M says the same thing, and when it booted up it started encryption. I do not want to be encrypted so I rebooted and had to format.
So, idk? Anyone have a successful none encrypted flash?

It sounds like you did an advanced wipe and wiped the system which is why twrp threw the no os message and as far as everything else I haven't messed with m and probably won't until its released
Any screenshots?

Yes I did as I was coming from M. So you have this set to flash like an OTA then?
Still, not trying to be a ****, you should have in the op that it will encrypt.
M is nice but it has many issues. I'm going go back to 5.1.1 and flash your ROM w/ an non encrypting boot.img.
Appreciate the work and replies.
