@coolerboyj, I just tried it. I turned off the wifi, then rebooted, and the device booted into android as expected.
I have not tried shift with Omni 5.0, but it should work well.

This rom does have random reboots when opening games, like Clash of Clans (works like 20% of the time)
I was wondering if there was a fix.
Thanks in advance

yes am using the stock kernel, didnt mess with anything at all

Good to know. I haven't experienced any of the random reboots yet, but I am not a heavy-user beyond a few utility apps, text, email, and calling.
I do know that there seem to be a considerable number of apps that work fine on 4.4 that exhibit undesirable behavior on 5.0. It isn't obvious whether the issues are app compatibility, or that our device tree isn't yet up to par, or that android 5 isn't yet up to par (or even all of the above).

I think i9100 lollipop rom by @Lysergic Acid also doesn't have "No Sound issue on outgoing calls"

Can I flash omni using CWM recovery. I'm using shift kernel and cyanidel from @rogersb11.

If you are using my kernel and the philz recovery that comes with it you can flash anything lol

My phone burns and reboot when I try to open some apps.
I need some help for this, I'm using OmniRom 5.0.2 lollipop unofficial and when I use the music player of the rom, my phone gets so hot and battery drains to fast, also reboot when try to use other apps from the play store like, youtube, etc... everything else works fine. I want to know if you are going to fix the other bugs like the outgoing calls, etc..??
BTW, thank you so much for your effort on this rom, i really like OmniRom and I hope you can make it better and keep GS2 alive

I have found that there are specific apps that cause the device to immediately reboot. I believe this to be mainly a result of the current memory issues regarding this device and Lollipop.
I haven't experienced any heating issues beyond the initial firmware settling (scanning the device) .
I hope to be able to find a solution to all bugs, but I cannot promise that it will happen.

Just seeing this, sorry. I'll pull it now, this call bug log?
Edit: I see that it is, hard to scan it well on my phone, I'll look once I'm at my computer. I updated audio stuff before my last build but no luck. I think using a prebuilt hwcomposer from kk would solve many many issues with video etc. That's what we did for n2 and we don't have official cm12 either. I need to pull a kk zip to get the hwcomposer and see how that works. Also I may need to build an i777 almost stock kernel with my n2 source because only my kernel on n2 will allow working everything hardware. My i777 kernel is based on cm but my n2 is Samsung kernel source 3.0.31 that has been routinely merged with aosp. Quick glance looks like audio isn't routing properly but I could be wrong. It's such a strange bug since it works just fine after flipping on and off. Again sorry for the delay, I seriously only get about 15% of the notifications I should

Yeah, this is the call log, and without something flagrantly crashing (and leaving a better calling card) I have nothing specific to look into.
No worries about the notification, I've been working on slim with warrior1208. ... Although until slim is back online, that project is almost stalled.
We'll have a proper daily driver if we can get this. I can't help but wonder if some of the "under the hood fixes" of 5.1 may help. Prolly just wishful thinking.

Right now I currently despise 5.1 LOL. Not that it's bad but I have to start over if I want it. Hey, I remember you cooking your mobo awhile back, used to do it all the time but can't remember. What temperature and for how long did you do it? I wanna give it a go on MTT jtagged Xbox. It finally fried so figure might as well give it a shot, heat gun isn't working and my reball machine crapped out least year so I sold it to someone willing to fix it at the time

385 for ten minutes brought me success. For two different devices.
I noticed that 5.1 seemed to temporarily push asimovi's progress backward a bit, which is a part of why I haven't published a 5.1 Omni. I lost internal storage again, and haven't found the culprit. I keep forgetting to look into system_vold.
5.0 should have been a test release.

STABLE rom for Galaxy Note i717

Can anyone recommend a STABLE rom for the Galaxy note. I have been using CM 10.1 for a while and I am sick and tired of the constant lockups, the random restarts, audio not playing when I first boot the phone. Its a nightmare. It would be nice to have a rom as close to AOSP as possible with spen support. Most roms are to fancy. I'm looking for something strait android jelly been that actually runs properly.
Any recommendations would be great, thanks in advance.

I have tried almost each and every rom over here on this forum. I found the Rootbox, Slimbean and the Beanstalk almost close to stable. Right now trying revolt, so far so good.
well, i would recommend using either Padawan jb2 or blackstar jelly beta. They're both 4.1.2 but very stable... i stay away from the 4.2.2 jb roms just because of random reboots or lockups... i've pretty much tried them all and just end up going back to those 2.. Atm i'm using padawan jb2 over blackstar because of the jedi theme
You posted this im wrong section. ..mod will move it soon
I've been on AOKP since it started. I had some freezing and reboots at first. But the latest build has had zero. Running perfectly.
I'll also mention that before this update,I did flash the stock JB and then moved to AOKP.
Ive got a stable 4.2.2 build pme me if you want it

the only other 2 really remaining are Blackstar and Padawan........they are both AOSP and built with stability in mind.
every phone is different including yours. the results you are getting with AOKP are pretty much across the board and affect the majority. im sure there are a few lucky ones though.
FOR ME.............Padawan has been the FOSHIZZLE MY NIZZLE. not without its out of the gate tweaking needed. for me though, and its NOT something you ever hear, I have not had 1 single reboot. I have ran it longer than anything else I have ever run. you don't have many updates and the thread is pretty quiet lately. I believe it is because it is running so well.
wont lie to you, the only real issue people have is with lag, BUT there is a fix or more of a tweaking that folks do with orgasmic results.
good luck in your quest, we are here if you need us.

blackstar and padawan are based on official tw jb not aosp. that is why they are stable. i use stock rom that i debloated of everything i dont use and phasekernel. everything works and no reboots.
i think we need to convince our friendly neihborhood moderator kennyglass123 to build the peoples rom for the note. it was the best rom i had on my epic.

Just tried out Padawan... its a winner, except that my 64GB microsd doesn't work for some reason. It works fine on the stock rom.
As stated above I found 4.1 to be stable on my i717 ran some 4.2 cool options and looks great but I could not stop those dang reboots going to stick to 4.1 for now.
also not sure but feel like battery life might be a little better at the moment I'm running blackstar jelly beta if anyone has an idea of how to get 4.2 stable with no freezes please post
also on a few different roms 4.2
three to be exact gave the lines after blacking screen out you can fix by disabling hw overlays but annoying
Goodluck

Most of the recommendations are all for custom roms that have some kind of non ASOP features. It would be cool to find something like CM that didn't reboot constantly.
You would think that since this rebooting problem has been going on for ages that it would be top priority. However, its like they don't care. I have heard of some people solving it by flashing a different kernel. Does anyone have a recommended kernel? Maybe even something that can be overclocked for 4.2.2. What do I need to look for regarding kernels?

Audio problems: place a file called "local.prop" in your /data folder. In that file, add the lines:
lpa.decode=false
lpa.use-stagefright=false
These override the build.prop errors and allow audio to play. You can correct them in the build.prop file, but they get re-written every time you flash an update. Putting them in the local.prop file allows you to write the file once and "forget" about them.
On the nightlies, for the last two weeks or so, I've had good luck with stability. 90-ish hours on 7/01 before I crashed it to update to 7/04.
IMHO, Most crashing behavior can be traced to kernel irregularities, or poorly coded apps (Facebook being king in this respect). Just about every nightly rebooted frequently on mine if I tried fooling with overclocking. Once I stopped the OC attempts, stability returned.
Some apps will never be cleanly coded, either due to bad programming, or (as in facebook's case) too much fluffy functionality.

Just tried that and my audio still doesn't play after boot. I have to kill the app once and then it plays fine just like before. I already had the file local.prop in /data so I just edited it. I added those lines to the bottom of the file. When I click on an audio file in ES or try to play any kind of media file in another program I can wait a few minutes for it to force close and then it works fine until I reboot again.
I'm using the 7/4 nightly right now. It has rebooted about twice a day since flashing. That's actually about average. It reboots more if I use my phone more. It doesn't seam to matter what app I'm in. However, it happens more often when I'm typing. I use thumb keyboard. However, I tried the stock keyboard for a few days and had the same results.
I have heard many people have great success flashing a different kernel. However, no one ever mentions what kernel they use. Do you have any recommendations. I am not interested in overclocking as much as I want stability.

Could I have edited the wrong local.prop or is there a chance my phone isn’t using it for some reason? I edited the file in /data I added those lines to the bottom of the file with a space above them.
The file contained one line
ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1

Kitkat unstable on S3 i9300?

Does anyone else using i9300 face the same problem? I tried various kitkat custom roms (PA, CM, liquid smooth, etc...) and they were all laggy and problematic. They all had video playback issues, game lags and "unfortunately, com.android.systemui has stopped" kept popping up. I decided to flash CM 10.2 jelly bean and everything works pretty much flawlessly. However I've seen many posts of i9300 users giving good reviews on kitkat custom roms
CM11 had many bugs, but the actual snapshot promises to correct some of them...
I run Qaraqumus' QS-4.4.2-rom at this moment and find no bugs after 1d. The problem with S3 is the various hardware: so has a part of the users f.e. always problems with camera, and other people none. You will have to try...

Did you make sure you did a proper clean install before flashing the new next rom?
No custom rom is problem free but in saying that 90% of the people who use them don't have or only have minimal issues.
YES ! I have the same feeling that users give good rating for kitkat roms on s3 while they are actualy unusable for daily use - freezing crashing reboots bugs . I am back on stock 4.3 - with nobloat app to disable some bloatware .
i9300 + slimkat stable 8 + boeflla kernel = awesome performance + no FC + no crash
I have to agree with him although i use temasek unofficial cm11 with boeffla latest ng kernel and don't have restarts, crashes etc its solid as, on 2 of my phones.
Don't use xposed it creates more issues than it solves.
Also talking to someone like that is rude and i have half a mind to report it to the mods, do you honestly think you can tell someone there experience is wrong? 90% of users have no problems. Go troll somewhere else.
If you really want to no go try it yourself its not hard to create a nandroid and test as everyones experience will be different.

Try ArchiDroid 2.5.3 from @JustArchi
Got that one and it works pretty nice
I've run kitkat ever since i rooted quite a few months ago and well yes none are 'perfect' because there no real such thing as perfect. There's always been issues, but none have really bothered me except the system.ui crashing when i open my recents on PA 4.6 beta 3, but since the update it's been fine
Don't feed the troll, it only encourages them.
try neat ROM...never had any prob...if there is..then there's something wrong with your way...or your device
Not sure what you're talking about, I have been using for example PA since June, no issues, doesnt lag, all games work without fcs and are smooth etc etc ,might be you messing up installation or forgetting to wipe something
Why are you people trying to help, or even bothering to acknowledge, a troll. Ignore him, offensive idiots go straight into my ignore list.
What about camera quality? I want to install a KK ROM on my S3, but I don't to lose the camera quality.
I'm using ArchiDroid 2.5.3 (JB) at the moment.

Help: Extreme lag and screen stuttering issues with CyanogenMod 11 on HTC One X+

I just bought a brand new HTC One X+ a few days ago for a really good price on eBay. Immediately after receiving it, I unlocked the bootloader, rooted, flashed CWM and installed the latest CyanogenMod 11 snapshot. To my surprise, the device lags and sometimes freezes for minutes in completely simple tasks like pulling down notifications or typing on the keyboard. I've tried a lot of stuff, but nothing has worked so far.
I'm convinced this can't be a problem with the phone, the specs are too good for it to lag in such simple things. I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy S III with a CM11 nightly and that didn't have any lag even though the specs were technically lower. Also, another problem I'm experiencing is that the screen "blinks", as in it has a sort of stutter effect which is really annoying. I don't know whether this has to do with CM or with the phone itself, but the blinking problem doesn't happen in recovery or fastboot mode.
Is there anyone who can help me figure out why this is happening? Thanks.
Is there anyone who can help me? I need my phone to be functional as soon as possible, thanks

Flash Nik3r's kernel. You will find it in the android development section.
Also running a huge amount of apps will screw with the device, and a reboot now and again doesn't hurt

Use EliteKernel, it will be much more faster. For me the stock CM kernel is troublesome, phone lags, battery drains, and heat up the phone quite much.

Enable [dynamic] cpu control

Hello all, I am looking for a way to enable all cores on the Honor 5x. If you use Kernel Adiutor (and I'm sure you do) you'll notice that 99% of the time (save for a reboot) your little cluster is offline when using any AOSP ROM, now the only way I've found to enable them is to edit the value in the active file located in /sys/module/cluster_plug directory. The issue with this method is that it just enables them, 95% of the workload is still handled by the big cluster, even when it's straining itself the little cluster fails to pick up any of the workload. I have done clean installs of the Blaze kernel and the issue is still not resolved. Any incite into this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
You'll need to mess with:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/core_ctl/min_cpus
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/core_ctl/max_cpus
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu4/core_ctl/min_cpus
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu4/core_ctl/max_cpus
It takes integer value ranging from 0-4. 0-4 meaning how many cores you want online per cluster.
The only issue is that I don't have /core_ctl directory that you've specified, I don't recall ever having it on this ROM, though I could be wrong. I'm using the krexus ROM in case I hadn't specified before.
I know, reading the stock ROM forums I got very excited to see the before mentioned information that was posted only to see that said (/core_ctl) directory was missing from any AOSP ROM I had used. This is the one thing that is holding me up from giving up my Windows phone as my business phone (the lag as a result of only being able to use 4 cores is intolerable in my line of work) even giving a link to what all these directory files mean would be very helpful. Thanks.
You could google what those directory means and that would give you that answer.
I have done this (and I consider myself well versed in the ways of the interwebs and I rarely come up with anything useful but I've been working on a solution for my original question and feel I am close to achieving it. I will post once I do.....though if anyone has ANY suggestions at all I'm open to try, all of my discoveries have been made through trial and error.

You may be needing a custom kernel to achieve this successfully.

I can't recall if I mentioned it or not but I'm using the blaze kernel at the moment (as far as I know it's the only custom one available for this phone?) Also the CPU control I desire is available inside the stock KIWI ROM, just wish I knew of a way to "port" that hotplug to a AOSP ROM.... thinking SELinux policy is prohibiting me from achieving the CPU control I'm after, but not sure if it's the only thing at play when it comes to this issue.

It's a messaging app. Just like Whatsapp, but with some diferences. You can check it in the Play Store. Telegram group link is in the Blaze kernel thread.
Wow thank you, I dirty flashed it (since version 2 dirty flashed fine) and didn't have pleasing results, going to do a clean flash AOSP, but those hotplug features are exactly what our phones need! Who's ready to hunt down some flagships?

Don't bother with blaze kernel. It's heavily flawed. As soon as you turn on hotplugging phone will crash and you have to reboot. Unfortunately development seems to be halted.

I apologize for my absence, I really hate being that "guy" but all my free time has been devoted to tracking down a nasty electrical gremlin in my sister in laws car, but no I have never had any adverse effects from dirty flashing anything really

I currently have blaze kernel installed and using the method I've mentioned before am able to enable all cores, but with very poor load balancing, and the beta version is far from RTM at the moment so guess I'm stuck with version 2 for the time being.

I have noticed this as well, which is unfortunate because the dev seems like a very talented coder who is quite capable of the task at hand, sometimes life gets in the way of the things we would like to do so I'm just going to be patient and hope he picks back up on the project.

It's been that story for many developers man. A great project paused because life hit hard again. I believe he'll come back to it soon.

I had thought of doing this, though I don't see any cm 12.1 links in the Honor 5x thread, just 13, (though I'm at work at the moment and have to be stealthy about my research...errgghh Damn kids and their Snapchat) and I have to admit I've kind of fallen in love with the Krexus ROM and am apprehensive to flash another. Just need that hotplug support (and OTA updates would be nice as well

Current State of LineageOS 14.1

Hey guys. Does anybody know what bugs/missing functionality we currently have with the LineageOS 14.1 nightlies? https://download.lineageos.org/h830
I'm not a huge fan of LG's stock ROM, but I would like full functionality of my phone if I switch to a custom ROM. Thanks!

You can never get full functionality of LG Stock ROM on any custom ROMs.
Even though I have not flashed LOS, I can tell you few things that may not work.
1. Wide Camera
2. IR Blaster
3. Most Probably any friends modules if you own them.
I'm interested in knowing too before I try it. As long it's stable with all cameras working, I'd be fine.

How do you expect anyone to read through 300+ pages where things change all the time?
I asked the same question on Reddit and people were more helpful:

Good luck on Reddit, the 1st reply in the 1st link is already total and utter bullsh*t
Given the choice of being spoon-fed crap on Reddit and using the search here or simply checking the last few pages ... I'd go for XDA, but that's of course up to you.

Well, I've been on los for a while now..
-As far as I know NFC is not working (on not using it so no idea, but it seems to drain the battery an not work properly)
-BT works for eg headphones but not for headsets
Charging is still an issue. It is faster now but still not even close to fast charging. An on a 3rd party charter or is ridiculously slow
-the wide angle camera is working but you have to toggle between the cameras to get to it. The auto focus might be a problem, but it is mostly solved I think.
-playing music is sometimes a drag, and can be laggy
-FM radio is non existing, not supported, will probably never be...
Other issues have been solved, other pop up, but since there are weekly updates, that's what it is.
-be careful, root has to be installed separately and if you don't do so, immediately after installing the ROM, you will most likely end up in the famous Twrp bootloop..
Before installing it I'd read at least the last 20 pages in the forum, these should give you an idea... Or go to the fulmics ROM. It is stock based so everything should be working. To my knowledge all the LOS based ROMs share the same issues.
