I have the WiFi version of tab 10.1 and it is running Task's jelly bean ROM, just use it to watch movies from my home NAS and YouTube so feel no need to upgrade the OS.
Recently I couldn't get my internet connection to stay connected, I have WiFi strongly connected, have the WiFi signal bar blue I.e. connected to Google services, but my internet connection is actually not connected, all including the browser, play store , YouTube even my NAS won't work even though everything looks normally connected. Look at the time and date , it is correct, tried turning WiFi on and off, restart, wipe cache in recovery, still doesn't help...
anyone has any idea ?

I think I found a fix for this, I will type it out here in case someone else has the same issue in the future....make sure the SSID is NOT hidden, then connect to the AP with static IP instead of DHCP also provide the DNS address that can be found in the router.

Bought my gtablet a few weeks back when it was on woot and have loved it so far. Did the Clockwork/TNT Lite setup, and have added a few games and apps...
I'm not sure if it is an app I installed or something else, but right now it will connect to WiFi as always, but the internet doesn't work. Other devices using the same access points connect and work perfectly, just my gtablet is failing. It goes through what appears to be a normal connect and gets an IP without any failure and shows connected, but none of the news, marketplace, or web browser apps are able to connect to the internet.
Any advice to trouble shoot network connectivity? I had recently installed LauncherPro and was working on installing Titanium Backup Pro, (which I either didn't actually download and was just emailed a key, or it never installed because I can't find it anywhere...)
Thanks!
Chris
I'm having the same problem with the ad-hoc wifi connection to WMwifirouter. The gtab shows it is connected with an IP, but no internet traffic will pass. That same ad-hoc wifi connection works with other winXP laptops.
However, wifi connections to my two other wifi router works fine.
I'm on stock 3389 with tnt enhancement pack.
Adhoc problem sounds gateway related.... the former issue... id start with a wipe.

I have the same issue - was it fixed yelrx8 ?
I am on bionix 1.3.1 and have noticed that whenever I turn my wifi on it seems to not allow me data access. My web browser will not connect to a page, market won't load, and any downloads that were in progress will fail. it's as if turning on the wifi is overriding my data connection and blocking it. It says that it's connected in the menu though. Any advice?
Thanks
Edit: I just noticed when looking at my phone stats, that when I turn on my wifi my mobile network state says disconnected, and it connects again when wifi is turned off.
Also, I have an airport extreme and a mac, perhaps that is my problem. I've scoured the internet and found a bunch of info about this problem, but haven't found anything that works yet.

Im sure someone will correct me if Im wrong but if you switch from wifi to 3g while downloading the download usually will fail because you were using only wifi to download the content and when that turned off it doesn't just switch to using 3g you have to manually retry the download using 3g .... when wifi and 3g are on wifi doesn't speed up the 3g instead it does the internet related work and the 3g does the text and phone call related work
that makes sense, thanks. as for the connection problem, it is definitely mac related. my wifi seems to work on other networks. I just need to figure out how to make it work with the airport. It's just weird to me that it says it's connected and shows signal bars, but won't access the internet.

so is the new problem that the airport extreme won't give wifi to your phone or that its not working at all
According to my phone I am connected via wifi to my network from the airport, however, the phone cannot access any internet functions when connected. When I disable wifi, it works fine with 3g or edge. It seems to be something with the settings on my airport, not the phone itself.

That's surprising maybe this means apple products are biased
Searched but can't seem to find a solution so hopefully someone can help me out.
Had no problems using the dongle up until I updated to Jelly Bean. Now I can only connect if I have a Wi-Fi connection or no internet connection whereas before it was fine with just mobile data and this is what I prefer. When I connect with just mobile data it turns my Wi-Fi on and switches automatically, I tried 'forgetting' my Wi-Fi connection but then it shuts down as soon as it connects! This is driving me mad!

My att mega constantly gives me the "wifi unstable" message and internet dependent apps like fb are slow, hulu displayed ok but stuck on buffering when I tried to pkay video on medium quality. This is the only device in my house with wifi issues, and running wifi fixer already. Anybody have any suggestions?
You should try changing your router to accept guest and try the phone there and change the settings to wep instead of the other settings that I can't remember right now

Hello, for quite some time I have problem with connecting WiFi to my Android TV. I tried everything, from Android reset, router reset, changing password, WiFi name, changing from DHCP to static IP, installing WiFi apps like Avast WiFi manager and nothing helped. The exact problem is that WiFi is disconnecting only when I open any app. For example, I connect WiFi normally and I check connection on router and router see that Android is connected so everything should be ok. But when I open YouTube, main page is just loading and at one point it says there is no connection, after leaving app WiFi icon that is showing signal strenght shows very low signal, only one dot. After turning WiFi off and on everything is normal again until I open an app. About notifications I am receiving them so that means that TV is successfully connected to internet until I open an app. This is weirdest problem I ever had since I am using Android devices and Internet. My TV have MBX S812 with B.S805 chipset. It have 1GB RAM/8GB ROM with Mali 450 card. Android version is 4.4.2 with kernel version 3.10.33. About recovery mode this Android box don't have it at all. There is reset button but it's not opening recovery mode it just resets Android. Android is not rooted. After reseting Android I can't even sign in to Google Account because when he tries to use WiFi to sign in it say there is no connection. I really don't know what else I can do now. I hope I provided enough info. Sorry for long text and thanks in advance!
