bro are u using kofila kernel with insertcoin rom.........then it will be buggy........
and if u r using with stock sense 5.5 then u have to deal with it cause stock rom is battery eater ........u can wipe the cache and dalvik cache through recovery i think it'll help u OR manually switch off ur phone and pull out the battery for 30 sec and then power it on then i guess it will normalize ur battery drain problem ............u can try if u r using insertcoin........i also have stock rom with kofila kernel and battery drain is normal almost 12 hour with modrate use........
No i am using kofila kernel with STOCK rom, rooted & s-off, battery very quickly empty aprox 3 hoers ,telephone go hot sometime and the only way to call it is reBOOT !!!, i try cache cleaning apps, also wiped the dalvik cache through recovery. still same .......

since you are not aware of recovery and you want to use cm7 just flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1024838 (download the signed recovery) this is recommended to avoid bootloop as this wipe the system directly form recovery witout failing whereas thunderg recovery somtimes fails to wipe system, if you still want to use thunderg use the latest flash file here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1065197
boot into recovery switch off your phone press home+vol down+power
now select usb ms toggle and copy the file just downloaded and flash it then reboot now u have clockwork which works great with cm7.
steps to follow
Boot into clockwork recovery.
go to backup and restore -create a backup of your current rom (Note:If already backup has been done then avoid this step, backup created using amonra or thunderg wont support restoring using clockwork)
go to mount and storage-format sd card
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
mount and storage-format system
mount and storage-mount usb storage (make sure usb debugging is enabled)
copy the rom zip file to the root of your sd card
unmount
install zip from sd card-choose the rom zip and install
flashing takes 3-5 min
reboot
i havent provided you a2sd steps as i dont want you to get confused and land yourself in prob

1] Install ROM Manager from market which would be of great ease.
2] It will prompt to select your phone model and type.
3] Make sure you install Modclock recovery as well.
4] Once you have selected the phone model and installed the recovery.
5] Make sure you dont let your phone go in sleep mode as Superuser will prompt to allow modclock for SU permission. Allow it to install the recovery
6] Download the franco's kernel the most stable and reliable from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049518
[Say thanks to him]
7] Once your download is completed try open the zip file it will prompt you to open with ROM manager.
8] Then follow the instructions, make sure you wipe dalvik cache before doing so.
Hit Thanks IF was helpful

All your steps are fine, except that you've given the link for Franco's v19.4 kernel. But the OP is using Official 2.3.3. So it should be a .35 kernel. Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1148196
dalvik cache ?? Yaar what is that ??
franco.Kernel.v1-16082011
franco.Kernel.v1.1-29082011 (testing version)

Once you've installed the recovery, Press Vol down, Power and Home button together to go into the recovery. Inside the recovery you'll find options to wipe data, dalvik cache, etc. When you're installing a new kernel, it is enough to wipe dalvik cache, battery stats and cache. No need to wipe data. If you wipe data, it will factory reset your phone. Try out and you'll find that it's very simple.
franco.Kernel.v1-16082011 is the stable version and is damn good. The testing version has some bugs (reported by other users, I did not try that) but still it is great. Try whatever you want.
Make sure you install Modclock recovery as well.??
i installed rom manager free version to my optimus and also downloaded franco.Kernel.v1-16082011 to my Pc.
Now what ??
Put zip file from PC to phone, install recovery from Ron manager , reboot into recovery , wipe dalvik cache , select zip from sd card and select the zip file xD
Sent from my LG-P500
Before you do any installation of kernel/ROM, make sure first you have:
- a custom recovery: can be ClockWorkMod, AmonRa-Thunderg or TWRP. to check if you have one, turn off your phone, then simultaneously press Home+Volume Down+Power. if you have a custom recovery, your phone will boot into it.
- created a nandbackup using the custom recovery. in case something goes wrong while flashing new ROM/kernel, or you just don't like the new one, you can return to a previous stable condition of the phone just by restoring that.
Thanks
After hell lot of research finally i manager to install recovery using Rom manager (Which in fact was very simple) but now when i boot into recovery i get E:bad recovery ?? What is that ??
Should i take a back up of my original Rom ? which i have right now ??
And next just download kernel put it in Sd and open it Via Rom manager and kernel installed right ??
and then i can use Set Cpu to Overclock ??
1)ignore e:bad boot message , its just a message
2) put kernel zip in sd card reebot into recovery using volume down+ powerbutton+home button or using clorwork and under options select install zip from sd card then chooze zip from sd card and reebot, before flashing wipe dalvik cache just to be safe its not compulsory. hope this helps
3) just for knowledge overclocking is different for every model of phone. Some can get to 806 or 860 even and some get crashes even at 729mhz. My phone is stable at 768mhz.
4) if ur using cyanogenmod based rom then it has overclocking menu in setting-cyanogenmod7-performance-cpu. so no need to install setcpu.

ok so i did the same (did not flash kernel).................but now after flashing the .431 kernel via flashtool it is still not happening......it wont go past the sony logo..........when i try with SEUS it says i already have the latest software installed...........please help.
Flash whole stock firmware with flashtool so you are able to boot phone.
Then when you will know the right steps, put rom .zip into sd, flash the right kernel and finally install rom via cwm following dev's instructions.
To flash a custom kernel you need unlocked bootloader.

I happened to soft-brick my Neo V few days back after installing a custom ROM. Please read on to see what helped me get my Neo V up and running again.
If your phone is stuck at SONY logo, I doubt it will go into CWM recovery mode either. I had tried flashing stock kernel through Flashtool, and also tried the FOTA-Unbrick method via flashtool, but even that didn't help. Finally, I used the "repair" option in PC Companion which flashed Stock ICS ROM on my Neo V (however, all data on phone's internal memory was lost and my phone had to e rooted again). But at least my phone was recovered. Hope this will guide you.

Please read carefully :
U have to have a rooted and bootloader unlocked in phone to flash ROMs (OBVIOUS )
1)Copy the contents to your SDCARD of phone (ROM ZIP File + gapps ZIP)
2) Extract only the boot.img from the ROM zip to some location in your PC
3) Use Flashtool to flash the boot.img (FIRST THING TO DO)
3.a) Select Fastboot mode from flashtool
3.b) While the phone is connected, Click Fastboot phone using ADB.(Phone will restart and blue led will glow showing its in fast boot mode)
3.c) Now select the option, select kernel to flash in the window and chose the boot.img that is in the PC.
Now the flashtool automatically flashes the boot.img(which has the kernel included).
Unplug from PC and try to reboot.. On booting enter CWM mode and flash the ZIP already placed in the SDCARD(Ensure to follow the appropriate post to follow steps like clearing cache\Dalvik and system etc..).
HAPPY FLASHING

If i cant access the bootloader how the hell can i install the rom? i didnt flash the rom yet im trying to figure out yet how to access the CWM recovery thats what im having trouble right now
then stop trying to figure out thing u cant achieve.
aosp base rom such as cm11 u want to install require flashing custom kernel, the boot.img provided in the rom zip, which in the kernel itself contains cwm recovery.
if u manage to flash it then u will get cwm that came with the kernel.

anyway, why did u want to flash the buggy cm11?
try custom rom based on stock first, or miui, or cm9 or cm10. those roms are stable enough for everyday use.

I have to send the folder cm-11.0-20131225-NIGHTLY-LegacyXperia-mango.zip and the gapps folder to sd card before i flash kernel right?
yes, both the rom zip and gapps zip need to be in sdcard.
and if i'm not mistaken, cm11 need to repartition system partition due to not enough space in it for the big rom.
probably need to manually format system too before flash, i'm not really sure.
ask in the support thread instead

It Just says This:
WARNING: This ROM uses a modified internal memory layout.
Our /system partition is originally 400MB but this space is not enough for a fluid kitkat experience and a full installation with proper google apps.
Our /cache partition is also too small to fit art-cache when we enable the ART runtime. We originally had 100MB /cache but art-cache needs ~150mb of free space.
I have repartitioned the internal memory layout, giving:
450mb in /system
469,5mb in /data
8mb in /cache
Steps required for correct installation (order is important):
1: Flash boot.img in fastboot & reboot into recovery
1.1 (optional): If the device is not booting, reboot to bootloader again and run:
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
2: Enter recovery, go to mounts and storage
3: Format /system, then /data and then /cache (Important step!)
4: Flash update zip
5: Flash gapps (recommended package is the one provided in the link below)
Steps 1.1, 2 & 3 are not needed when you install new cm11 nightlies on top of older cm11 builds in the future
If you want to return to a ROM that doesn't use the new partition layout, you need to follow the above steps again (only replace boot.img & update zip with the ones you want to use).

after insalling a custom rom, if u need to comeback to stock firmware u need to use odin
factory default will not take u back to stock rom.
Anyways factory default will delete all user apps but not system apps, superuser will not be deleted.
But if u use odin to flash stock, root willl be gone
Best of luck for Flashing

Flash Stock Firmware
Btw which Rom did you flash?
also Wipe data cache etc. before performing flash
also remove sim card and charge upto 60% before flashing
Hope This helps
