I think I saw on here that if you update via OTA you may not be able to mount system with r/w permissions.
Try and create a file in /system

That means you cant write to the system partition (delete need write permission).
I'm pretty sure someone posted a fix, do a search.
Also you should reply to @Envious_Data he's trying to help.

You only need root on your phone, then run the recovery installer on your pc and it'll do the rest of the work. ADB drivers must be installed don't forget that. instructions and download here, read them carefully and you should have write access in no time.

[INFO]Please download Latest/Official CWM v5.8.2.0

A preface:
This is neither development or a question. This is simply an informative post that needs to be in the development section to save many users issues. (also most people looking for custom roms dont look in general section)
I did not create this.
New official CWM v5.8.2.0 (link below)
A few of us have confirmed that it now properly backs up and restores the boot.img
This Helps with the following issues
-Possibly fixes bricks (by properly restoring boot.img)
-Correctly comes with Staging/System unmounted
-Nandroid Restores properly the boot.img (of backups created with this CWM). This means no more issues when restoring a Rom if you are coming from another from (for example, if you are restoring Virtuous after wiping cm9)
Additionally:
-Backups are now about 10x faster
-Restores are a bit faster (not as dramatic as backups)
Still no go:
-External SD Card (Pretty sure)
-Reboot into recovery (probably a software issue within OS anyway)
Manual install:Here is the link to the file if you prefer to manually install (EASY WAY BELOW) -Must have unlocked bootloader

Just rename to .blob and follow these instructions http://androidroot.mobi/2012/02/22/introducing-cwm-for-asus-transformer-prime/

Easy Install -Must have unlocked bootloader.
Use Rom Manager:
Install Rom Manager from the market -> Open -> First Option: 'Flash ClockworkMod Recovery'-> Done.
This can be done over your current CWM (if you installed it via ViperMod) or manually)
If you have issues installing via RM try this
Swiftks said:
I had the same issue, when I first tried to install CWM via Rom Manager.
I solved it by installing the version that installs via the Prime Time Root program. Then installed the Rom Manger version without a hitch.

This is no more or no less development than this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1510983
This cwm is more up to date and will prevent many end users from making the mistake of installing an outdated version. These 2 threads can (and should) be merged as long as the thread title has the latest CWM in it and the OP has some information regarding it.
Thanks

It should not. all my previous ones are there after flashing in RM
Though: I dont think it will retroactively fix the boot.img restore and backup issue meaning, you should probably make new backups if you want to be able to restore the kernel properly in the future

Your welcome.
Thumbs up to the CWM team for finally releasing a more working recovery.
Thumbs up to "DeathByFugu" who brought it to my attention in IRC.
Thumbs up to those who tested with me and confirmed it was working as it should (DeathByFugu, youngex/tg3x)
Just ran a backup and it was definitely quicker than the last 2 that I made.

This is really a nonissue for me as I have ADB set up, so if I am in a jam and need a file, I can simply push it... that and I dont have an sdcard for my prime (had to test the one from my phone )
just DL Rom Manager and tried to "Flash CWM Recovery" and it just FC's?

Yep, I am runnig Virtuous ROM.
I did go in and clear cache and data and tried all over again.
It starts, the "blue bar" at the top of the screen starts to scroll across and gets to about the end and just hangs. If I remember correctly from my other phones it should boot at that point and do its thing?
I will uninstall...reboot and reinstall.
If that doesnt work, maybe I will try the old fashion adb deal.

Sounds like it's borking when it would normally ask for Superuser permissions. Make sure your Superuser app isn't blocking it.

Yes, new rom replace all things
well since you have already done factory reset (and lost all your data) no point in whats written below
But if it happens next time and you want to preserve data, please mention if you are running an odexed/deodexed rom. Someone nice here can upload the file(s) you need and you can push them to your phone using adb

Yes stock rom will always be odexed. to check you can go to app or framework folder in system/ and see if you have corresponding odex files for apk or jars.
Edit: Also a suggestion. Don't flash mods that do not specefically say that they are for odexed roms (if you are on stock). For brightness control you can use lux brightness free from market. it gives you control on how much brightness you need

You probably messed with blackhat tools that patched your market and created an odex file. You have to delete that first.

I guess you're on original stock rom non-rooted then. If so, forget all I said. Try wiping cache/dalvik-cache in recovery. Its in the I9300 xda wiki how to get there. If that doesn't help I don't know...

[App Icon Error][SD card app error]

I removed my SD card to flash a friends phone and after I placed it back in my phone, the apps on my SD card is unreadable. Says "application not installed". Not to worry I can always reinstall the apps. What bothers me is the app icons, i tried using Titanium Backup option "delete orphan data" yet it still remains.

can I PERMANENTLY delete the supersu folder in root directory? (cm13)

I do not know why TWRP (or cyanogenmod, it seems) keeps repopulating my root directory with a supersu folder containing apks and scripts for that app. Is there any way to permanently delete that folder and all its contents? Whenever I reboot to recovery after I delete it, it always comes back.
(Inquiries elsewhere went unanswered. Googled all I could.)
From the looks of it you are in CM rom. SU is part of the rom. Not the recovery.

Great, then that's my new question. Why does CM create this folder and how can I stop it from recreating itself? It's not like my /system/(x)bin/su binaries are being readded.

You will have to completely remove root but with the odd way cm does root I am not sure it is really possible as it is coded into the OS.

Oh there is. Build the rom yourself and leave out super user and root.
Mainly as many custom rom features require root to work. You maybe better off running stock.
If you want to remove root just flash the latest Chainfire's SuperSU, go to the app then select full unroot. Reboot then delete supersu folder.

I use systemless root and don't want any traces of the old method sitting around to be detected. Plus, I'm GApps-free, so that's not really possible.

Doesn't help. That'll remove everything but the folder in question. Going back and deleting the folder after using SuperSU's full unroot option only works until my next reboot, when the folder pops back up again.
