Hi all,
I am developping an app using the text to speech library of Android, and even though it works under the emulator, it does not work on my Folio.
I even tested with the tutorials and google samples, but it makes the same...
this makes me wondering if the stock ROM supports this lib...
Has any one seen this? Do I have to go on an alternate rom?
thanks !
Stef!

Hello all,
I have been an android user for over two years but never delved into rooting/installing custom roms. The main advantage of rooting seems to be the ability to remove bloatware and to have some customized look. Is there any other advantage (performance?) to it? Cynogenmod seems to be a very popular ROM among all. What can Cynogenmod (or any other roms) do that some advanced launchers (NOVA, AWD etc) cannot?
Also, is there any webpage or post that explains all these terms (rooting/custom kernals/flashing etc.,) for a dummy like me?
Thanks.
Cyanogenmod is based on stock pure android and not sense like what comes on the phone. It reaches far beyond what a launcher can do. It's a complete OS replacement. Beyond that it is very easy to get the answers you seek from either here or Google

Hello all,
I am brand new, so apologies if this has already been covered or is a repetitive question. I am interested in using Themer but have not had a compatible device until now. The first three designs that appear on the website are very appealing to me- can anybody confirm that they are still available, and what the easiest way to find and use them is? (I.e. do I need to scroll through all available themes until I find one/all of them?) I have attached screenshots to verify which I am talking about.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Hey there:3
Just as many of you I dislike the idea of having an Apple product; I own a Sony Xperia Z.
I'm into Music Production and just started to learn to play the Launchpad. I got myself a Lp Mini; the concept of it
is to have a short scale Lp that you can take with yourself and use it on the go. This is Made possible through an App bc the Lp is just a controller.
Unfortunately, Novation decided to create an App which is only compatible with iOS and it is quite annoying.
I hope maybe someone in this Forum had ever heard of an App for Android which does the same or maybe an emulator or whatsoever.
Thanks for your attention, I hope someone can help me out.
Hello Everyone,
I am sure you are all aware of the extensive list of bugs and issues that plagues the Amazfit. As of now, there are no real ways to circumvent the issues as Xiaomi/Huami seem reluctant to make any updates or fix the issues and even the PACEfied ROM has a few bugs that carry over from the base firmware.
That leads me to the following question. Since the Amazfit firmware has an android base, would it be possible to port Android Wear to the watch? Android wear should be able to fill the gaps of functionality that effects the device.
wear is not an open source OS, thus, you'll have some major issues of porting.
Unfortunately this is the issue. It would be awesome to have this watch on android wear but as it's closed, it would be at best a while..
On the subject of custom ROMs, would it not be suitable to develop a custom android based ROM?
Wish AW was open source.. people have made ROMs (I'm thinking Ghoma on my LG ages back!) So here's hoping
Maybe build an Android wear-like ROM based on Android with custom app to link with it...?
I think that it is not completely impossible. I know that for Sony 3 smartwatch they did a port of AW ver.2 from other AW smartwatch. So the port should be possible as the AW is out there.
Any way we can actually work on this? Tips? I would love to help.

Maybe build a ROM based on Android and the UI is similar to Android Wear?
This actually would be awesome!
Its possible to install AsteroidOS on amazfit watch? And google upload some part of Android Wear code to AOSP project.
you're asking or telling?
that would be good
just bad i dont realy know how to port roms
