Hi, I was wondering if one could transfer music files in to an USB flash drive, plug it in the phone with an OTG cable and use it as a direct storage for the stock music player of Android, or any other music player there is on the market? So far I only have succeeded in finding the files with file explorer, and I must click them indicidually from that file explorer to get them played in a music player. I can't make them show up in the playlists directly which is a bit annoying. Is there any solution, other than transferring the music files in to the phone memory or phone micro sd? I have an Bluetooth connection on my car, but the SD thing is a bit pain in the butt, so I'd prefer using my phone screen to switch songs etc.

I have a usb drive with all my songs on them
So when i connect the drive to the keyboard and open the folder (file manager). I cannot select all the songs to play through music app, it only allows me to play one song at a time. Is there a way to select all the songs to play?
In the music app, you should be able to point it to the directory in your USB drive where your music is. It will then build the library from those files. That is what MixZing does anyway...

i tried going to the settings in music app, but it does not allow me to relay the directory. it seems fixed on the music folder.

i do not want to transfer all my songs to the prime
i am trying to just connect the flash drive and play/shuffle the songs on the drive without transferring them
does android require you to move files to the device storage in order to create a playlist?

The best solution going forward would be to sign up for a free Google Music account and simply upload all of the music you want to listen to to that service and then just stream it over WiFi to whatever device you want to listen to it on.
Now if you are frequently in a situation where you don't have access to the internet, MixZing is a pretty good music player that will allow you to play your music off of any USB connected storage device.

Hey guys
My S3, running Jellybam 6.3.0, works fine, but there is a little issue that I'm experiencing
and it's become pretty irksome.
I had 8gb of music on an iPod that I transferred to my PC, then to and SD card, which I now use for my GS3.
All of my past music appears in music players and play fine, but any new music that I download from the phone doesn't show up.
I thought maybe the music players weren't scanning for mp3 files in the download folder, so I decided to move them from the downloads folder
to my Music folder with all my other files.
Here's the problem:
The file manager doesn't seem to "see" for find any of the old music, despite all of the media players finding it no problem.
Also, any new music I download can be searched for an played in a music player, but it is never added to the library.
I decided to mount my phone to my PC do double check, and all of my music is there in the Music folder, which is on the root of my sd card.
Has anyone else had this issue

Did you try to wipe data and install everything again??
Might be a DRM issue?
Hi, I recently purchased one of these Android 4.1 Car stereo units http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2528349 (I've looked all over that thread and haven't been able to find a solution to my problem.)
I want to be able to use Doubletwist player as my main music player, and I want it to be able to read the files on my external usb hard drive (plugged into the back of the unit).
The unit recognizes the USB hard drive, as I can access all the files through certain other music players and through any file explorer. The problem is that Doubletwist won't recognize anything other than the internal storage and the SD card.
I emailed Doubletwist and they replied with this:
DoubleTwist Player uses two sources to recognize files (& the associated metadata) and playlists on the device.
1. Sync database created/updated by the computer application during a sync.
2. Android Media Scanner (AMS) database which is updated by the Android Media Database service.
So if the storage location isn't seen by the AMS service, doubleTwist Player will not import information about these files into it's database.

Is there any way to edit what directories the Android Media Service looks at? Then I could simply swap the sd card and usb drive directories (I don't use the SD card slot at all). Or does anyone have another solution to get this to work?
Alternatively, I just want decent music player similar to Doubletwist. I like Doubletwist's intuitive UI, the fact that it uses playlists and the fact that I can "play next" or "add to play queue".
I have tried Poweramp and I don't really like the interface, and Rocketplayer would have been fine but it is really buggy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
P.S. Forgot to mention, the usb directory is /mnt/usb/mnt1
Any ideas?

Could someone give me an idea the easiest way to load music onto my Truesmart? Thanks for any help I can get on this.. Gene
Patch it first or install Dees BT ROM.
Connect it to your PC and select mass storage mode.
Copy music to the "Music" folder on your device
You can use "Airdroid" to copy your files (music, pics, vids) wirelessly to your TS.
Airdroid is available in PlayStore. I patched my TS with Gapps so I have the store on my device.

The only thing I can add to this is if you have added the SDCARD.
I use RDIO, On the login screen you can point the storage to a custom location, like maybe a folder on the sdcard..
I have over 1000 songs synced from Rdio plus all my Podcasts that are synced automatically using BeyondPod. wether you
manage your own stuff (drag and drop over usb) our use a service (RDIO, Spotify, Play Music, etc) I recommend you consider the extra storage.
I don't have bluetooth on my computer, so I tried airdroid. I never had a problem with airdroid on my HP touchpad tablet, but for some reason I could not get it to load to my truesmart. I ended up paying under $2 for wifi file transfer pro. The interface is easy to use and I copied about 12GB of music to my truesmart in about an hour over my wifi network.
Another wireless option (free)
I use ES File Explorer to move all kinds of files all over the place wirelessly, whether on computers on my Wifi network (LAN) or in the cloud.
I use Media Monkey and USB Mass Storage mode (mtp is buggy and unreliable). Also Spotify in offline mode works great, or online mode if you have 3G and get good reception in your area.

Just troubleshooting an issue that has been bugging me over the last few months since I bought the phone.
I moved over to android after having an Honor 10 Lite in about 2017/2018. I loved the way I could put my extensive music library from my iTunes onto a 246GB Micro SD card have my whole collection on my phone.
Now that I have moved to the Realme 7 Pro, I still like everything about the phone: phone storage, the large amount of memory, the size of the phone and the camera.
However:
1. I can't find a great music player for the phone, I annoyingly deleted the Realme 7 Pro music player after I thought I found a better one.
2. The main problem: I cannot transfer my music from my computer to the phone without tracks going blank/missing or stopping halfway through songs. I have tried using the phone cable to transfer, using an external Micro SD Card reader and using various transferring music players (Doubletwist etc.) and nothing seems to be working. It can transfer 200 songs, and after that, I can't put any more music on without it going missing.
It is a shame as I don't want to move over to Spotify, as I have enough music and I enjoy owning my own rather than having to stream over the cloud (although I am really tempted to switch over!) and half the reason I bought the phone was to be able to put my whole music collection on it. If anyone had any fixes it would be much appreciated.
Try this player.
I have no problem with music!

If you still have such problem, try Coolmuster Android Assistant. This software can help you import music files you like to your Android phone directly via USB cable. It's easy and safe.
If you don't want to use this tool, try the steps below:
1. Connect your Realme 7 Pro to your computer with a USB cable.
2. Drag down the notifications panel from the top of your Realme 7 Pro's screen and tap "Media device (MTP)". In this way, you can transfer media files from PC to your device and vice versa.
3. Make sure your Realme 7 Pro is successfully connected to the computer. Open the portable device and locate the folder where music files are stored.
4. Then select and copy the music files you want to move from the computer to your Realme 7 Pro.
Hope this will be your help.
