Hi All,
I seem to remember there being a guide to decrypting roms for the x10.
I've saved a backup of my oz optus firmware from pc companion and was hoping to make an unecrypted version of it to be used with flashtool.
I've tried searching and I simply cannot find the guide to unencrypt (That's if memory serves me correctly and it even exists.)
Could someone please point me in the right direction.
Cheers

This link might should be what your looking for - title has changed a few times
Does anyone know how to do it tho? I downloaded the "tool to partially decrypt" but it doesn't show any instructions or anything.. Just a bunch of files..
That tool won't decrypt the ROM. I will decrypt it soon (read: when I get access to my external HDD).
With that said lollylost, Do you need me to upload the two files somewhere?
Main reason I wanted to decrypt it was to extract the optus my account apk as its not available on either the market or the optus.com.au website.
And yeah i'd allready downloaded the decompression tools. Lollylost, have you got some sort of application or even a guide on how to decrypt the firmwares?
Would be nice if you could upload the firmware since all my firmwares are on the inaccessible HDD.
Hey guys, maybe u can help me...

ive saved my original files: 2 files :111Mb , the other : 16Mb
but how do i flash it back !? with flashtool its not possible i guess isnt it ?

Reflashing has been covered before but since I had trouble with it I feel for you so i'll post my lil guide
Hopefully its allowable to link to file on other sites (If not can a mod feel free to edit this post and I'll create a pdf guide if thats okay).
EDIT: Turns out as a new user I can't link to external sites and services. With that in mind if you do a google search for "download SEUS" and scroll down till you see the sony ericcson site, you should be okay.
Step 1
Download SEUS if you dont allready have it (NOT pcCompanion that a different program)
Step 2
Using SEUS, run your phone through a repair. That means let SEUS download firmware and install it to your phone.
Step3
When using SEUS the db folder will be in C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db\YOURIMEINUMBERGOESHERE\blob_fs
Find the two largest files in that folder select it so its highlighted & press F2 on the keyboard to rename the file. The filename will now be highlighted. Press <Ctrl> + <C> to copy the file name to your clipboard, press <ESC> to cancel the rename.
Now that you have copied the Filename to your clipboard, locate where you saved your original firmware files and highlight the largest one. Press <F2> again and this time press <Ctrl> + <V> . This will paste the new filename onto your firmware.
Do the same for the second largest file.
Step 4
With the file rename complete, you can now copy the two files you just rename into your C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db\YOURIMEINUMBERGOESHERE\blob_fs folder.
Step 5
Run through the repair again with SEUS however this time when SEUS says its downloading it will take a matter of seconds and then flash your original firmware back onto your phone.
Step 6
ALL DONE Enjoy your original firmware.
Lollylost: I tried to upload files and it crapped out about 50% of the way through.
I did notice that there was once an SEUS plugin that you had uploaded to hotfile that did the decrypt on the fly, is it still possible to get this plugin so i can finally extract the my account.apk and get on with rooting my phone?
Cheers

LollyLost: I've uploaded the firmware for you it's here: http://www.multiupload.com/RAOCA34155
If you could do me a favour and extract the my account application on there so I can root and put back the usage counter would be great.
Cheers

Help
(sorry my bad english)
Can someone please decrypt the Nordic image found in this thread for me? So I can flash via Omnius/flash tool if I ever need to do it. I am having difficulty figuring out how to do it myself.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=722657
I would really appreciate it, thank you.
Nordic_R1FB001
Here you have the Nordic Generic R1FB001 with flashtool included, just to install, dont forget to backup your data since this will be a clean install.

Hey guys, just 2 quick questions about nandroid.
Is it possible to either bypass the MD5 checksum right at the start of every nandroid restore? OR, is it possible to generate your own one somehow?
The reason I ask is, I wanna try and replace the backed up files made by nandroid such as "boot.img", "system.img", "cache.img", "recovery.img" etc with the ones that I have extracted from a stock rom.
The stock rom I have can only be flashed through USB connected to PC, by using "SP Flash Tool". However, I have 2 problems using it. The first is that it doesn't work properly for me. I can only flash the "system.img" file but not the other .img files. It seems I need a USB-to-UART cable to flash ALL the .img files, which I don't have and I don't plan on wasting my money buying it either. Besides, I find flashing on a PC a lot more risky than from memory card.
The 2nd problem I have is that I often have problems getting my phone detected by "SP Flash Tool". I tried using Windows 7 and XP and it's hard to get a connection properly. It's most likely because the phone i'm using a chinese clone, called "STAR A1000". It's cheap and crap, so I'm not surprised that I can't establish a stable connection to my PC. I only got lucky like once or twice but haven't been able to flash from my PC ever since.
So anyway, the stock rom I have contains all the .img files. I wanna try and replace those files with the files generated by nandroid, but of course there's the problem with the MD5 checksum file that will check if the file matches or not. So I need a way to bypass the MD5 checksum completely or force nandroid to perform a restore regardless of the conditions. Either that, or I need a way to generate a MD5 checksum for the .img files from the stock rom, and use that for my nandroid backup.
My last question is, I also have custom roms that are made to be flashed on the memory card. Of course, they contain the "boot.img" file, and so I wanna try and replace that with my own working "boot.img" file. I want to know if this will work when I try to flash it in the recovery, or will it fail and brick my phone?
I have a fully functional zte nubia z5s mini ( except from wifi and bt) rooted, english CWM, latest MIUI. Formatting /persist partition before installing MIUI caused the issue, there is a relevant thread explaining it all at bbs.nubia.cn/thread-112804-1-1.html (understood it using google translate).
To fix it I just need some files that were in that partition (nothing special, can be viewed with any root explorer) and get them back. Re-flashing any ROM wont do the job because that's the essence of the specific partition, to contain some files that wont be replaced by flashing a rom from recovery as I discovered by similar threads at xda for other phones.
The thing is that I cant download the files from nubia forum because to get the link I must register and registration does not work for me without any apparent reason.
Could someone make a copy of its own files ? There is nothing personal in there or phone specific / unique .. Net / BT drivers, and configuration files
As I said, nothing special needed, just copy all files / folders from /persist and make a zip .. I guess a backup from CWM would work also, never tired it (never needed to restore anything till now)
The issue is very annoying because apart from WiFi problem the phone is fully functional .. I know whats the problem, the files I need and the procedure (a simple copy) but after 3-4 days of searching have not been able to find the files ..
Could somebody please help by sending me its own files from /persist ?
Thanks in advance ..

instructions:
copy the content of archive (folder "\persist" from "persist_b_needEDIT.zip") to your "\persist"
and then:
1. string in file "\persist\property\MODEM_INTERNAL_VERSION" - change to installed ver. of ROM
(source http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=505708&st=740#entry26719716)
//at current example "NX403A_Z0_CN_XSYPK1HD11F016"
2. BT MAC is in HEX in file "\persist\.bt_nv.bin" -- IN REVERSE ORDER!!!
"F56C98" Prefix Vendor bytes -- IN REVERSE ORDER!!! - for example compare with WiFi "Intf0MacAddress=986CF5****8A"
"05****" NIC specific bytes -- IN REVERSE ORDER!!!
example content:
01000605E8B1F56C98
---- for BT MAC 986CF5B1E805
- just open file in any HEX editor & change content of file to desired (maybe random?) digits
3. Find in "RootExplorer" files "WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv.bin" & "WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini" in folder /etc/wi-fi. Copy them to /persist
(source http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=505708&st=740#entry26719716)
4. change this string is file \persist\WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini
with your own MAC addresses from phone box (base - Intf0MacAddress)
( && Intf1/Intf2 - use the same digits as in Intf0MacAddress ):
( Intf3MacAddress & gAPMacAddr - maybe use ramdom digits?
((source http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=507466&st=1780#entry29593985)
<----...
# Each byte of MAC address is represented in Hex format as XX
Intf0MacAddress=986CF5****8A
Intf1MacAddress=986CF4****8A
Intf2MacAddress=986CF7****8A
Intf3MacAddress=000AF5****FC
...
# AP MAc addr
gAPMacAddr=000AF5****ab
...--->
5. change (if needed) permissions of files according to "permisiions_list" file

NX403A-PERSIST
I am looking for ways that i can capture an android rom (.img file) and restore it to other same devices by using Rockchip Batch Tool 1.7
Here is my situation:
We have lot of android devices need to be deployed (MK 902). The original rom was 4.2 and I use Rockchip Batch Tool 1.7 to reload a rooted 4.4.2 img file. then I installed some APPs we needed. I dont want to go through app installation on all devices. So I am looking for a way that i can capture the img file after all APPs installed, then later on i can only use that Rockchip Tool to restore my img into rest of devices, just like Windows image restore.
I did some researches but didnot find any easy way to do so. looks like i have to unpack the image, modify it then repack it again. ....... I dont know how to modify the img file so i am looking for an easy way to do this.
Anyone knows any App or easy way?
With MTK Tools long dead, I'm trying to read the ROM on a phone with a cracked mother board one which by some miracle, the USB interface still works. I need my userdata.img and to try to get my contacts off that.
Can I use a scatter file that comes with the factory restore images for my phone which is based on MT6582 (4Gb int. mem) to find my memory point entry values for each separate file I want to pull off the phone? I tried copying exactly the linear_start_address and the partition_size into SPFlash "ADD" fields to use with the Read Back option and I get the xxxxxx.img files but not sure if this is the right way because I can't seem to use a tool to extract the internal files like I have been able to do on other restore images in the past.
I have used Disk Internals Linux Reader on my Windows laptop in the past but it doesn't seem to work on the files I extracted but of course until someone tells me if simply copying and pasting the named fields out of the scatter file and into SPFlash ADD, Read Back, I don't know if the data has been read out of the phone properly.
Thanks!
