I was able to connect to an open ad-hoc network using wifi ad-hoc enabler in Oxygen ROM. I did a backup jst bfore installing the enabler and restarted. Everything was FC ing. But, I installed wifi enabler and it was working. As almost every app is FC ing, I installed CM 7.2 RC1 and tried wifi enabler. It was not working in CM for me .It shows the network but unable to connect

ROM compatibility might be the issue...
I guess, its time to revert back to stock bcoz of frustrating, yet silly issues in custom ones
Hi guys,
each and every update I am running in the same problem, getting the WIFI to stop working with my companies Cisco LEAP.
Today I updated to Stock XLS8 JB 4.1.2 and WIFI is returning an authentication error.
I recreated the LEAP profile using the Leap Wifi Free app.
Last time I needed to patch the wpa_supplicant binary to get it working.
I also found some threads and also android bugs pointing to it (but this states it should work in 4.1.2 but not on 4.2: android issue #40023).
Do you have the same problems? Do you have a solution?
thanks
Christian
PS: Sorry if this topic is not new, search is currently not working.
Can't believe I am the only one
I have it too.
I was on jellybean LSJ & it was working as it should. as soon as I updated to LS8 it stopped working.
I too get Authentication Error. Could connect when on 4.03, but not since update to JB.

I also tried 2 custom roms based on LS8. Alliance v6 & Biftor v5. they both have the same problem. plus, I tried to change the modem but still the same.
I'm pretty sure it's related to the base itself not roms nor modems or even phones.
never had this problem before.

EDIT:
I tried to replace WPA supplicant of LS8 with LSJ file
didnt work :S
I FIXED MY WIFI PROBLEM !!!!!!!!
FINALLY !
looks like wifi files are bugged in LS8. I took a backup of the folder etc/wifi in LSJ and replaced with the same files in LS8 & IT WORKED IMMEDIATELY !
make sure the files are really put. it might not replace the old files

Hi,
great to hear! Would be also great if you could share the LSJ /etc/wifi folder with everybody
Yes, its working with LSJ!
here are the etc/wifi files of this ROM, to be honest, I dont know how to create a CWM update.zip... maybe somebody may assist.
I changed it with Android Commander. Before that, check that /system is mounted rw
mount | grep system
mount -o rw,remount /system

Doesn't depend on kernels. I tried all of them.
only on this wifi folder. make sure the files REALLY replaced LS8 files. turn offf/on. wifi should work. unless you have a problem somewhere else which is the router. try resetting the router
I'M USING OMEGA 19.2 TOO
I asked that because my wifi button was frozen after replacing those files and i couldn't enable the wifi back, even restoring a directory backup, so i had to reinstall the rom, now, i upgraded to a clean install omega 20 with siyah 6b4 and the wifi problem persist. :/

Hi Guys,
I´m new to the Android World and to xda-forum.
This is my first [Q][Help] Thread. I´ve used the search function and the goolge search, but i didn´t get any answers.
Device:
Samsung Galaxy GT-I9300 International
ROM: Omega v44.4 - XXUFMB3
Kernel: Stock Rom Kernel
Bootloader: I9300XXEMC2
*#1234# Output:
AP: I9300XXUFMB3
CP: I9300XXEMB6
CSC: I9300OXAEMC2
So my problem as follows:
I flash one of the 4.2.2 Roms and only my WiFi makes problems.
-Sometimes it gets a "Obtaining Ip Address" loop.
-If my device connects to my home router (Belkin N+) there is WiFi shown on the device, but no data goes through it.
Every 4.2.2 Rom i tried [for example Slim Bean based 4.2.2, Omega v6 & v7 based 4.2.2, AOKP Milestone based 4.2.2, CyanogenMod 10.1 nightlies based 4.2.2] i have this problem and it makes me sick.
Flash process is every time the same:
Done with TWRP v2.5
-Full Backup
-Full Wipe
-Install Rom from external sd (.zip file)
-(Install Gapps if needed, ROM specific)
-Reboot
If you need more information about device or something, please ask.
I hope there is somebody, who can help me.
Thanks in advance.

This was my last idea i had, but i was to afraid to do it, because of destroying something.
Can i destroy with that solution something, otherwise i will try it later at home. :good:

The only thing it will change is the WiFi folder which is changed each time you flash a ROM so you have to do this each time you flash a rom aokp/cm10.1/aosp but when you flash a sami based rom you dont have to change the wifi folder as they seam to work ok

If you already have a ROM working use a root file manger and copy the wifi folder from /system/etc but I have had no need to do this on 4.3 based roms

Hey, it's on the stock Samsung ROM (Android 4.1.2) that is working properly the wifi, and only that one. With no custom rom - tried several CyanogenMod(stable), SuperNexus, even bloatware-free samsung 4.3 - none had worked).
I will make a wifi folder backup from that - will report back as soon as I get results.
hey guys,
so recently i decided to flash one of the many S5 ROMs that are now available to the s3, after wiping my phone i found that the wifi would not connect, i'd put the password in then it would just say "saved, secured".. ive downloaded several similar ROMs since then only to run into the same problem every time.. all the other features work fine its just the wifi, which is quiet essential..
i live in new zealand and have an i9300T..
thanks to anyone who can help me out as i really like the S5 software!

s5 wifi save secure problem
hey
i am using s5 and have wifi save secure problem. whenever i try to connect to wifi it shows save secure. I am new to android. ;ooking for if someody can help
My Xperia Sola is giving issues with Wifi and bluetooth. Whenever i switch Wifi on the phone goes into bootloop and gets stuck there. The only viable solution is to let it drain its battery and then flash a new ftf/custom rom. I am completely fed up of this issue, so I was thinking of deleting the kernel module for wifi. However I am not sure which is the right module of wifi.
I looked into /system/lib but to no avail. As stated by some XDA thread there is no bcm folder which is given because Sola uses a STE chip instead of QCOM/BCM.
Anyway it'd be great if anyone can guide me to the right name of the wifi module. Also I am not sure how to post the kernel text online so any help there will be helpful.
Regards
Any help on this?

Sire, have you read the post?
Just to make it clear its clearly a hardware issue, the issue persists no matter which ROM I install. Thats why I want to remove the Wifi module, I already located bluez plugin but wifi plugin seems to be missing.
As of now I was trying to fix it on stock 4.0.4 rom. 6.1.0.154 I reckon.
Oh sorry my bad
