I don't think it is possible....for either thing. It is a hardware solution through n-trig. You could look into a plain capacitative stylus and use Skitch with Evernote, though.
Quick question. When using evernote and the jetstreem note taking app with the stylus, do you have to use it in whole screen mode to write or can you use it like other writting apps where you have a zoomed space to write on at the bottom of the screen which once a line is finished, sends your text to the next line (sorry about the poor description, not sure what this is called).
Also, does it have handwritting recognition functionality to convert to text???
If these things are possible with the stock app and scribe it will be the ultimate note taker!
No, it doesn't convert to text. It is more like a real live notepad. You can draw and write with it and then it syncs with Evernote up to the cloud. No handwriting recognition or anything like that. I think the new Thinkpad tablets have that, though. You can read the reviews on it if you want to. I like it for taking notes and highlighting my books, though....Skitch is more for drawing.
Now, with Evernote, you can type your notes, yes.

I wonder how it would go with an app like myscript over the top so that you get your handwriting recognition as well???

Does anyone have an idea if there is something like that?
Or is there a way to somehow deactivate multitouch support for some time in order to write with a stylus?

Take a look at Skitch, it supports annotation and writing with a stylus. It also integrates well with Evernote, which is great for storing and taking all kinds of notes, with cross platform support.

I had a look at it but from the looks of the youtube video it seems like all the persons writing there definitely lift their palm / wrist when writing. Is there any palm rejection/ some kind of pad?

I used to use evernote but then I switched to using spring pad. But I'm looking for a different one now too because springpad isn't good for school notes. So I might go back to evernote since it had the different notebooks you could make and stuff. For handwriting app when I need to do stuff like math I use paoyrus. Its great for writing and simple to use. You can zoom in on to the line and write big and then when you zoom back out it will look normal and just like your handwriting on paper so its a pretty cool app and its free.

You can try Handrite or just use Google Drive. I tried many but end up sticking with these two.
I go back and forth between Evernote and Google Keep.

I just picked up the note 10.1 and after some reading around have downloaded and played with snote, papyrus, lecture notes, and note anytime and so far am not too impressed with either.
I'm looking for an app that takes notes mostly via handwriting recognition and allows me to free draw as well for meetings then export said notes into .doc or pdf (reason why I bought the note in the first place). .
What app are you all using for note taking at meetings and such that does a good job with handwriting recognition?

So far I feel I will likely use polaris word and the handwriting keyboard to input. Easy to make headings and in a common editable format. Then for sketches I use sketchbook pro and insert the pic into the document.
But it's not perfect. Wasn't impressed with snote really. Only had mine for 2 days though.
You can always use built-in handwriting recognition within any note taking app. Or use MyScript Stylus beta, works very well.
I'm using SPenBoard switcher, any time I use the pen it switches to Stylus beta, otherwise it's the keyboard for input.

I use Mazec2 handwriting keyboard that'll work with any application, I tried MyScript Stylus and Mazec just has the edge, but it's a close call - they're both very good at what they do.

Do you find it better than the inbuilt samsung handwriting though? I've found it quite good and can be used anywhere a keyboard entry can be

Cheers. MyScript stylus I think you meant. I've had a quick go and its very good. Recognition is great. Just can't choose alternate words after the last one but its very accurate so less need.

I'm trying to find this app "SpenBoard switcher". I went to google play store and couldn't find it. Where did you find it?
Sorry, I found it but it says my tablet needs to be rooted. Is there an alternative for a non rooted tablet?

I have been a user of My Stylus Beta for a very long time and its by far the best handwriting recognition software ever. The problem is that the company has dumped the software and its no longer working anymore. Even when you decide to use it anyway you get it and you have resigned yourself to eternal usage of this app without further updates,but they took that option off the table when the app stopped working on the devices and its not even available for download on Google Play anymore , pls can anyone help? would be eternally grateful if someone can help.Thanks so very much. :crying:e????e????

Actually there are not comparable in anyway. Stylus Beta is by far superior and has a seamless writing style. There are some kinks to be worked out for sure but its far better. I think the company made a bad call cancelling out the app without giving it a chance.

Hi, I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 and, I am an educator.
The Tab S6 with its S-Note is a real gem to create quality lecture notes however, in terms of accessibility I find it poor. I mean once the notes are created if I want to access them from say my mobile phone it is very difficult. Right now I have to share the notes in pdf to my drive, and only then I can view them from my mobile phone which is not practical.
I was wondering is there any alternative whereby I could sync my S-Notes such that:
It can be viewed from my mobile phone (Which by the way is the Xiaomi Poco F3)?
It can be edited too?
Now in case what I am asking is not ethical and or not realistic, do you guys rate the Nebo app as an alternative. I have watched some reviews on the app and it seems nice. But, before making any purchase, I would like to hear about your experience with this app. I have bought Noteshelf it is great, but I feel the S-Note is still more robust in comparison.
