For now I am just building and releasing unofficial builds. Official builds will come eventually.
Saved for later
I just installed the ROM and it's really smooth! It's hard to notice any lag at all and the camera works fine.. Battery is draining a little too fast though.
I'm gonna stay on thus ROM for today and report tonight its 2:10 pm in where I'm at.
Where is the download link?.... OK I found it ?this is the best rom I used on s2 let see how it goes on d855
I just found out that pre-installed (in developer settings) Root don't work, apps think that root has been allowed but it really isn't. And after installin SuperSu it says that it can't install it's binaries.. Its not a big problem but just so y'all know its there

Don't judge battery based on the first day of ise after install. The battery life is always abit meh after a brand new install. Let it settle [emoji14]

Good to see that my favourite ROM started to support my phone. :highfive:
@acardinal
Tyvm for this, I ran your builds on my g2 almost exclusively.
Been running this for about 17hrs and its running great.
I don't have any root issues as previously stated, but I always flash the su zip after any ROM.
The hotspot always shows no connected devices, other than that everything is running smooth without issue.
Thanks
Is there any plan for Korean variants? Thanks!
Can I ask how's Camera Quality on this rom?
Specially shutter speed and pictures quality under low light. On vacations right now so can't download and flash myself but looking forward to it.

All aosp etc cams are basically the same. There OK, but if your looking for near stock quality, its not going to come in a custom ROM.
Some of us are running the moto cam, which seems a bit better than the aosp cam, but still a good bit off stock.
Its just the way it is until someone figures out how to port the stock cam to aosp, which may never happen.

I don't want to derail this thread too much with cam talk, but to sum things up, I took some identical shots with the moto cam, camera 51 from the play store, and the one you posted.
Moto cam was without doubt the worst.
Your cam and cam 51 were nearly identical, but I think cam 51 was very slightly better in a mixed lighting condition, which I believe is where a lot of the non stock cams fail to keep up that's why I chose this as a test. I was sitting under light with light at my back shooting towards a dimly lit area.
I actually just found the cam 51 last night, so I haven't been able to test it thoroughly yet, but it looks very promising, as does yours.
Thanks

Forgot to mention, it appears that apps with a persistent notification don't seem to survive a reboot. Such as gsam and llama. It appears that they are still performing as intended, just the notification is gone.
Thanks

This is not my camera. It is ported from LG G2 and has same quality as stock G3 camera. You can find it in LG G2 thems and apps section. All credit to the developer who ported it.

Why is this ROM "taking CyanogenMod to the next level?
CyanogenMod does not want to include many customizations like they did in cm7
But why not? We want to customize our phones!
This ROM adds more options and cherries to CyanogenMod, cherry picked from the CM gerrit, Google gerrit, AOKP gerrit, SGT7, TeamEOS, TeamBAKED, Slim ROM, Root-Box, ChameleonOS and ParanoidAndroid
Basically this is one big mixture of all the great ROMs out here!
Stock but still highly customizable the way we like it
Build with linaro gcc 4.8

First off, thanks for adding support for the Evo LTE, it's always nice to get some love for non-Samsung phones.
Couple quick questions as I've been shopping for a new rom for a while now that the MeanBean dev has more or less moved on.
1. Does this work with the newer touchscreen firmware? I tried vanilla Cyanogenmod 10.1 a couple times (last time being about a month and a half ago) and I saw it still required a downgrade. I ask because I'm hesitant to downgrade as I do like to keep a Sense nandroid around.
2. What's the difference between the gapps and the gapps slim in terms of feature set/ram footprint?

There was a display driver firmware update that happened on the phone a while back. Long story short, it made the touchscreen not register user input on all non-Sense based ROMs. HTC dragged their feet on releasing the code for devs to make the changes (and may still have not gotten around to doing it). I ask because I've had a really really hard time finding a straight answer on this and got tired of constantly reflashing Cyanogenmod every few weeks to see if it had been addressed yet.
The only way to address the problem I've found is to flash an old Sense ROM and then flash Cyanogenmod. So it's kind of an either/or unless you want a huge hassle every time you switch between them or you want to run an old Sense ROM.
If that isn't an issue anymore, I'd be more than happy to provide feedback for bugs, performance, etc. My phone hardware is version 003.
Thanks!
Sweet!! Thanks devs!
On Wi-fi, it may actually take me 3 days to download ANY of the Gapps.

Yeah, there isn't any is there? Our phone has hardware buttons.
Not only that, but like in all other 4.2 AOSP Roms, if you choose a Menu icon in the Nav Bar, it doesn't work either. Even the 3-dot menu doesn't work on the launcher.

Nope. It doesn't.
Not sure. I've never thought about using anything from Sense before. If its just an app it might work. Just grab the apk from a stock ROM and see.

Dang.
The camera on this thing is pretty weak, and the editing stuff was somewhat neat. Losing that makes the camera pretty terrible...
I don't know if there's an apk that can just be installed. It's probably more work than that.

The camera on stock Sense is weak too. It's nothing new that the camera just sucks on this device. I've owned just about every flagship and nexus device and its just a fact when compared to anything out there already. Editing software doesn't change that. There are a ton of apps in the Play Store that do just about anything in terms of editing. So all in all. The camera is terrible no matter what app you would like to sugarcoat it with. But yep. Unless HTC decides to opensource their camera, then we are all sh$t outta luck on that. Things will get better on aosp though. It's just a matter of time.
Handset ready for the update. F5ing it.

Yeah, looking back, I only edited stuff for like the first day or two when I got the phone. After that I never bothered with it lol. I'm on a gpe ROM and for some reason the camera is slow as hell. It was fast on the stock sense crap but now it takes forever. I haven't used it yet on this so I'm hoping it's fast again.
Oh, and this ROM has the most badass boot animation, lmao. It's a shame I don't reboot the phone very often hahaha.

thanks for this and all your hard work in keeping fresh roms rolling to us!!
it seems the majority of post trough all the rom threads start with "does this or that work", when most of us know dam well a few things havent been ironed out in all the roms yet lol.
im offering, if you would like me to, to compile a list of most of the major issues reported across all roms, and weather they are working here.
maybe this will cut down on some of the redundant questions.
you could even put the list in the op if you wish, so no one will have an excuse for not knowing.
its up to you though, ill just let it go if you dont want it, with no hard feelings.
thanks again
edit, i had a better idea, as to not clutter the thread, ill make a post in general listing all the roms and reported issues. im sure that wont go a stray lol
Does the IR blaster operate with this ROM?
i am trying to keep an easy reference of bugs for all aosp roms here to make it easier for devs and us to see where we are at without digging through the roms threads.
any contributions would be greatly appreciated. Please Read The OP First!!
thanks for your help!!
Every time I come visit there's a new ROM I like this device.

I'm super excited to announce Carbon Rom for the Jewel!!! It's been a long time since I've seen this one on this device. I hope you enjoy it, along with the other ROMs I have helped push out for this device. More details to come. For now, clean wipe, flash, and enjoy!!!
NOTE: May not run on first bootup. If not, just restart the phone, and it'll push through fine.
As with all my ROMs, I suggest the latest TWRP for recovery.
I also suggest Slim Gapps for packages.
DOWNLOAD ROM HERE
Special thanks to Carbon team, and CyanogenMod team, both of whose code I used to make this possible.

No. Way. I was a big fan of Carbon way back when, glad to see this back up on LP! Thanks for your work =)
Edit: Install worked great and I'm up and running; all features seem to be functional as far as I can tell. This runs nice and light, very snappy!
I noticed that there have already been several downloads of Carbon. I'm glad to see people at least giving this one a look. I'm not a guy who is too picky on features, so I can switch from one ROM to the next without missing much. For the time being, I'm on Carbon, and I haven't had any hiccups.
One quick note here, be sure to check your ringer volume. For some reason, although my volume was ON, it sounded way soft to where I didn't even know it was ringing. Maybe it's just me, but check to see that you have your ringers working properly by calling your phone.
First, thank you for your effort in in keeping this device relevant when most others have moved on(which of course is understandable). Much appreciated
I haven't seen any issues with the ringer volume. In fact, I find all the audio through the device's speaker much fuller and louder! Very surprised that the device is capable of this volume.
The 2 issues I've seen with this ROM are:
1) Relatively weak battery life compared to 5.1 PAC ROM beta's and Unity ROM 5.1 . Its dropping from fully charged at 10:00 PM to ~60% in the morning without any use. I've used it for 4 days now and will give it a few more days to settle down. It could also be the half-popped kernel with double tap to wake feature.
2) Notifications are not readable due to white text on white background

That's weird, because my notifications are white on a black background... I wonder if its a theme issue.
I did post another update.
Anybody using this rom? I'd like to hear some feed back.

I will make a backup and give it a try. What happened to that adventurous flashing spirit guys?!

Installed it on my old unit - full wipe, flashed minimal gapps recommended, only issue I see is I'm getting "insert SIM card" whenever mobile data is turned on.
Not that I have mobile data or need to turn it on mind you...

Yes! I'm using it, and I have been since I first got it working. I can say that after a LOT of use, I have had a couple of random reboots, but it wasn't enough to turn me away. Everything works for me like it should. If you're interested, you really should give it a go (if you haven't yet).
Secondly, @7357, I noticed you have listed in your tag an older TWRP version. The newest one can be found at https://twrp.me/devices/htcevo4glte.html. At the time of this writing, it's version 2.8.7.0. You'll notice that CaptainThrowback is one of the maintainers there. Give it a flash if you haven't!

WHAT DO WORK:
-Everything except what I list below
-Maybe it's just me but when I flash Nano Gapps, GO Oreo seems a bit faster than normal Oreo. Not by a whole lot but by a noticeable amount
WHAT DONT WORK:
-Encryption, it will fail but I'm working with the tree maintainer to try and fix this
-Camera, it doesnt ship with a camera app and when you get one like OpenCamera it says another app is using the camera. Looking at a logcat it looks like something called a lowmemkiller keeps killing the camera process when I try to start it (?)
-Magisk/SuperSU, Magisk will never show up and SuperSU will put you in a bootloop
-GPS, it sorta works but can be a bit spotty at times, use that app called Fix GPS on the Play Store to help with this
-MS Exchange, if you use Outlook it will take a while and maybe a few reboots before your contacts sync to the Android contacts app, I have no idea why it does this but it did eventually work for me

As normal with ROMs, while I will try to help you with a problem, I take no responsibility for damaged devices or anything like that, you assume full responsibility when you flash custom things like this
WHERES MY DANG SOURCE CODE:
Sync up normally with Lineage 15.1 sources, and use this here for all of your device trees. To make GO android you have to go to the device's device.mk file and add the following line:
$(call inherit-product, build/target/product/go_defaults.mk)
THANKS TO:
-Me, because I'm the best
-Subhrajyoti Sen, he not only showed me how to compile for GO but also is working real hard behind the scenes to try and fix all the Oreo tree related problems. He's a great guy and good at what he does
-@facuarmo for showing me this one patch that can potentially fix the camera crap that's going on
Not sure what else I'll be using this post for, so here's the logcat that shows what happens when the camera can't open

Maybe you can try applying this patch if it isn't yet? It looks like there's a need for a commit to be applied in order to get this thing working and thus your memory leakage and LMK constant triggering, it's because of a LMK part being disabled after GO is enabled.
You should take a look at this one: https://github.com/aosp-mirror/platform_system_core/commit/fe26dfb3bf347d801e4ef2803e1ffa3c924a851b and check if your source has it.
Good lucko buckaroo hope you get this goo!
Also don't forget to keep it up with the hard work iukwim.
EDIT: Oh and the camera holder just doesn't connect so maybe you're mixing incompatible device trees and the camera blobs aren't playing well there?

I don't think my sources have that, so I'll be applying that soon when I build again. If I need to edit the device trees in any way I'll just end up making a new branch of it and call it lineage-15.1-go, so look out for that if it happens. All my sources are based on the same Oreo trees Subhrajyoti uses to build all of his Oreo based ROMs, so I don't think sources are getting messed up either. I actually spoke to him about this and he thinks the LMK is what's killing the camera, not the blobs (since after all, those same blobs work fine in normal Lineage)
Believe me, the HARD work was not forgotten. This is merely training, a stepping stone for something BIGGER AND BETTER in the future when the time comes.

Sure, try it out. By the way, have you tried building normal Lineage with those sources before going for Oreo Go? I mean, maybe there's something wrong with Lineage bleeding branch iself. If so, my best advice would be to apply the commit I just posted, build again and try your luck in the camera and lag thingy.
As always, make this something big, cause the bigger, the better.
PS.: I'm talking about the Facebook app you sick heads.

Subby just made a lineage build with the sources so I think the sources are fine, its just a problem with GO LMK. I'll be applying those patches now
Oh by the way, on an unrelated note, your nougat SomeFeaK and all others based on it now break the camera in nougat ROMs. I'm not sure what changed but something did...

I mean, you should make a build straight from your sources and your environment, because that'll let you see if your build passes as a normal one and if your sources, being based on the bleeding branch, aren't somehow broken.
About the other topic, well, I don't maintain SomeFeaK anymore, cause of time and cause it was kinda hard. I really thought Aki was going to implement his HybridX thing on Nougat, surprisingly, he didn't. I somehow understand him, I mean, Nougat is pretty outdated already, it's visually the same thing as any other Android release. Instead, Oreo, has that PiP thing, tons of otpimization and wow... it's fascinating, at least to me, it's very important. Anyways, I was planning to implement HybridX on Nougat by myself but you know how my "plans" work, I might take a mid year to finally get my hands on it. I promise that, today, I'll start taking a look at it, as it seems to be a pretty simple thing.
@facuarmo where am I even supposed to put that updated lmkd file you sent me, I don't see a platform folder in the lineage 15.1 sources to look through. There's a platform_testing but then within that there's no system subdirectory

I'd like to try the ROM but I'm the one that uses root on every phone I bought and I use the camera a lot.
Great work for the ROM :good:
