No OTA love in Florida! Better off downgrading and rooting anyways.
Im in florida and I got ota, may just like be your phone reboot in recovery and clear cache maybe that'll work.
I even did a reactivation. You near South Florida?
Its because there isn't much going on till Friday.

Cool, where did that info come from
I don't see why Sprint or even LG doesn't have a downloadable update via website that computer literate people can use to update their own phones

How is your battery life? I've heard mixed things since people have updated. I'm mostly interested in Lollipop for the improved encryption.

I got that rollout information (proof: http://www.reddit.com/r/LGG3/comments/2wbswp/sprint_lollipop_rollout_schedule/ ) from a Sprint live chat.
Reading the comments on Reddit from the link you posted- I CAN CONFIRM THAT THIS COMMENT WORKS! AFTER DOING THIS AND CHECKING FOR UPDATE - I rebooted.... went back to said LG SOFTWARE UPDATE and I am NOW downloading the update! PS Make sure you change your connection back to lte
[–]WereAllThieves04 1 point 10 hours ago
I'm from Chicago and wasn't part of the 10% that received the update. I forced the update to my phone by repeating this process: 1) Shutting off data, wi-fi and location. 2) Clearing data for Google Services Frameworks under ALL apps in settings. 3) Went into settings and under Wireless Networks I clicked More...>Mobile Networks>Network Mode> cdma 4) Checked for LG software updates under system updates and found it.

I can't believe it myself but it worked for me!!! I was surprised since they have been saying all along that wiping data on any google services would not jump start the update.. but it did.
Man do I like the update
No update here in Lincoln, NE either. I tried clearing data a few times...no luck. Are guys just clearing data on the framework services?

If this rollout is true, I'm not surprised no one has it yet! I got this from another thread.. not sure which one anymore.

Although it isn't bad to have just in case. The PRL will connect your phone to Alltel towers if there are any closer to you, if not, it will just use a VZW tower.
/!\WARNING/!\: Doing *228 in dialer , will overwrite the PRL to the regular VZW PRL.
A stronger signal usually has big benefits, especially on battery life.
Unfortunately, it won't help some people. But still, it's always good to have.
1) Click Here to download PRL
2)Take this , and put it on your phone's sd card. Don't put it in any folders on your sd card, just leave it at the front.
3) Go to the dialer and write, ##778 and press call, hold and you should get a pop up.
4) Select Edit Mode, then enter 000000 (6 zeros) as the password.
5) Slide down to PRL, and press Update PRL. ( Please wait a while, it takes some time)
6)Once there, slide down the keyboard and you should see the Hybrid PRL file, press on it, and then press OK.
7) It should bring you to the menu you were before, press the menu button on your phone and select Commit Modifications.
8) The phone will update and reboot. Congrats, you flashed the PRL!
View Snapshots
These pictures pretty much sum it up, Thanks csshih for your fail snapshots and thank sed for upping the PRL to multiupload. =p
Hope this helps some out there!
bah, fail snapshots :3
Thank you very much!
if you dial *228 will it over write the hybrid?
Im guessing yes but i just want to check
didn't alltel merge with verizon, so wouldn't that mean that they are already sharing towers.

Yeah when I went to the alltel site to find the coverage map, it asked for my zip code then said that my area was operated by verizon and it had a link to verizon wireless saying that I should go to that site.... did some more investigating and found that alltel's towers were bought by the big companies.... so it seems...

I've installed EPST.apk from another rom and it appears in the installed applications list, but ##778 still does nothing. Other ideas?
EDIT: Since ##778 fails I tried launching EPST by making a shortcut to it with anycut. It somewhat works. View mode locks the phone up until you hit home. Edit mode asks for password, but after entering it takes forever trying to verify the password before it times out. So I'm still screwed.

I knew ##778 fails on my phone so I did a nandroid backup, wiped, retored to my Ivan .8 backup and flashed the prl from there.
Then restored back to previous rom.
It is a long process but it does work.
Wow.
I did a test before and after flashing this and got these results:
Before: 90kb/s down, 26 kb/s up.
After: 247kb/s down, 79.5kb/s up.
Did the test from the same spot literally 2 min apart.
Gotta say, this may have just solved my reception issues here in Virginia.

plug charger into phone, put in airplane mode, put to sleep for a min, take out of airplane mode, unplug. No time without signal........unless you reboot, then start from beginning.
Only known fix
On the Aloysius V7 Rom and no ##778 either. Is it a sprint rom issue? I take it that if I flash the PRL in another backup and go back to this one the PRL stays or is it part of the Rom also?
Just another example of information being spread all over the place. Framework, I wish you would have just put this information with the thread that was started here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=673589
You experienced android folks on this forum always gripe and complain about the new people and the repetative questions and then you split the information all over the place making this confusing and disorganized.
Im glad you know a way to get this Hybrid PRL on the Eris without a call to Vzn but for some the easiest way is to just call Vzn and request it.
And by the way, If you knew about this PRL, why did you wait till it was pointed out by someoe else before you started a thread.

Don't take it personally, framework probably just didn't want to hijack your thread, so instead he made a thread with instructions and the download are the first post so users don't have to dig deep in the forum. XDA is pretty good on the amount of repeat threads compared to other sites so its not a huge deal. Either way you both have done the purpose of the forum: inform and instruct.

Thanks for explaining, I couldn't have said it any better.
Anyways, I recommend calling though, its the most updated PRL and is easier for some people.
05swtc,I just think its easier so people could know where to find it, as your thread title wouldn't point them out to it, and it would be easier for them to get it off the first post.
I don't appreciate the sarcastic post you replied with, as I had a reason behind doing so, and I find that this way makes things way less confusing, infact, its a lot more organized.
Is there any negative side effects to doing this? I have an ok connection but lately it's been stuck on like 1 or 2 bars. And I'm in Arkansas so since the map shows it's basically covered, I'm assuming it'll help.
Just updated this, my old PRL version was 51866, this hybrid one is 65024. I live in the tri-state area so I probably won't see a difference. I'll post here if I do.
Here's a Motorola Atrix take on the 20th Century Fox intro, compliments of Blender and ImageMagick.
still needs needs a bit more work (crappy artifacts), but i've done all i'm going to do with it tonight, so i thought i'd post it up. hope you like it.

Bad luck on your phone. My iPhone 3GS took a spin in the washing machine, and that was that. No amount of rice was bringing it back.

That's strange. I tried to google it and found nothing. Did it just show up or did you JUST notice it? What country/carrier do you have? Could you give us as much info as possible?
"We're coming from a pure power source."
Are you on a GSM 3d or Sprint? If Sprint, this is not a "factory" system app so it should NOT be there and may be a root kit/virus. If you're not rooted, you will have to root to be able to remove it via root explorer. Probably be in system/app since you say it's uninstallable. If you're on a GSM phone I have no idea whether it's supposed to be there or not....so I won't advise whether to remove or not. Good luck.

Your phone has the herps bud. Were you in Vegas recently?
On a more serious note, the description says it has access to "Services which cost you money" which could potentially access financial information stored on your phone.
If you are adamant about not rooting it then you should have nothing to fear about taking it in and letting the service technicians remove it for you at your cell phone provider's store front. If they can't remove it I would ask for a new device. It never hurts to ask.

On a more serious note, it says it has full access to communications meaning someone can hijack you and call all over the world with your number and leave you the bill.
I'd swap that phone out ASAP and make sure you are only downloading from a the Play Store and not off some website to save a buck for an ad-free angry birds....
I agree with PMG, both scenarios are bad, get tech support in person from the provider and have them take care if it.

Keep telling yourself that. You aren't guaranteed a brick if you don't clear wallet, but if it happens, you're SOL.
Yeah I've wiped the whole lot three times and flashed new ROMs without clearing wallet and it still works. Some think since GW stuff is stored in the cloud it may not be an issue.
But who knows since Google won't say one way or the other.

NFC is not what bricks in regards to the error you are referencing. What happens is the secure element (read more about it here) becomes corrupted and unresponsive. And because nothing (not even Wallet) can actually read the information on it, it is forever stuck in that state.
The claim was never that NFC would brick, but that the secure element would. If you happen to get the 'secure element is not responding' error, then you will still be able to use NFC for stuff like Beam and such (this is found on the sticky on this forum as well as the FAQ on the Q&A forums) but you will never be able to use your phone for secure payments.
We don't have enough testing or enough evidence to say one thing or another. What we do know is that you are far less likely (if at all) to get the error if you clear your Wallet settings before flashing a new ROM/doing a hard reset.
Take that for what you will.
Is anyone using the CM nightlies and able to use wallet. Cause I wanna use it at least once

I'm on td and I have no issues

I had wallet running, worked fine- used it at the gas pump and counter of gas stations.
Then, I wiped caches, data, and system.
Oops! I forgot to clear wallet first.
Flashed new rom (Goodies 2.10)
Wallet still works.
NFC Bricking theory false.

No the issue with the secure element was corrected for those doing a factory reset, that part getting destroyed isn't an issue on the newer OS updates anymore.
My guess is this was at Sprint's request.
I can confirm, I've wiped a couple thousand times without ever clearing wallet. I use mine everyday almost, just have to go through half the setup each time after a full wipe. Also did the same on the previous version.
Bad Seed Customs
Just Sick!
Anyone using the Google prepaid card needs to spend it before Oct 17, it will no longer exist (the card, that is).
I flashed an AOKP update on the 16th. On the 17th, in the late afternoon, I installed wallet. Opened it, expecting to see my Google prepaid card (I planned on always using that and ne over putting a real bank card on it) and the 8 or 10$ I had on it. Nope. Not there.
I called money network and was informed of the change. If only I would have installed wallet the night before lol :banghead:
from my flying AOKP'd Evo LTE and xda premium
You can still request a refund lol

You have to install a modified version of the wallet app, which you can find in the apps section.

Or use ICS Tranquility, we've removed/disabled the stupid warnings, device and root checks.
Ever since the first OTA I've been flashing without clearing Wallet and I still use it at 711 no problem!
I secure element bricked 2 EVO LTE's. Granted it was before the first ota. But I cleared cache, data, then reset wallet if possible. Opposite order for u dyslexics out there.
On a positive note my confidence in wallet has grown substantially. Flashed several roms without clearing wallet out and it still works.
However, I would reccomend u reset wallet each and every time u plan on wiping data/system or switching from sense to aokp. Also when doing factory reset or even updating same rom to be safe.
Wallet is a fickle *****.
I'm going to flash my TB to PagePlus but was waiting until the all-in-one tool is available, hopefully next week. The guy I bought the phone off accepted the OTA ICS update.
If I flash the phone to Pageplus first and then do the root after, does anyone know if rooting will screw up the flashing? I don't think it will but thought I'd ask YOU experts!
Thanks
Probably should root first just in case

Rooting after flashing to Page Plus should be okay.
As long as you don't mess with any radios, I'd assume.
I can't get the data up
I CAN'T GET THE DATA UP on my HTC Thunderbolt on Page Plus
I've been working on this phone for 3 days now, following every tutorial I can find, and I can't seem to get the data up. With the 4g card in I can SEE the APN, but can't edit it. With the card out my phone won't let me see it. I don't know if the settings are right, so I'm going to try to attach screen shots of my settings. I hope someone can help me get data on this phone. I can call and text, but no data.

Everything I read says its due to the HA/AAA keys. Without them, you can't authenticate. I've got voice/data/txt working with or without a SIM card. It doesn't seem to care except for the NAG message.
Secrets..

I put "vzw" in the secrets like I was directed. However...there were 32 digit HEX Keys in the fields already. Unfortunately I had no data...even with them. Should I put them back?
I don't have anything in those fields and mine is stock.

I'd put them back and try again. Try leaving the SIM out also. I have an AT&T SIM in mine and I get at least 1x data.
Enter Secrets..
I replaced my 4g Card with an older At&T sim, and put the Secrets in. Still no data. I have screenshots of my settings. If you'll give me some place to send them, I really need this data.

This is a very good guide and its pretty much the same thing for the TB. Ignore the MSL crap that is apparently unique to the EVO.

I've done SO many changes to this phones info...I'm afraid I've done more HARM than GOOD..LOL.
SO MANY CHANGES!
I still have talk and text, but NO DATA! I have HA and AAA Secrets...PPP passwords...and still....no data. Is there anyway to completey restore the data I've changed? I already no Factory resets and Data wipes don't do it...
I flashed to Page Plus, then rooted, then update radio to ICS. Gonna pop and ICS rom in a minute. No problems so far.

rampart51 what did you end up doing? Did flash first, root second work? I currently have an ICS 4.0.4 that has been flashed to PP. I want to root it so that I can uninstall verizon crap like Slacker Radio and Tune Wiki.

To be honest....I haven't done it yet. Been too busy and the All in one tool looks like it may have a few issues.....I'm gonna wait it out. I have been on PP for a few weeks now. No issues. No 3g but I don't really need it.
I flashed to Page Plus months ago and I love it... I get the same thing as I had with verizon but I pay $29 instead of $89 a month. I had a company called beigephone.com flash my phone for $50 because I didn't have time to figure it out myself. my 3g works perfectly though, so if your 3g doesn't work maybe your settings need to be fixed. did you flash it for Page Plus yourself? I'd actually like to learn how to do it, especially if it can be done without using CDMA WS.
I just used the all-in-one tool + revolutionary to root a different thunderbolt that was still on gingerbread (2.11.605.19). The only hiccup was that I had to remove/re-install the HTC drivers twice (solution here).
Please let me know if you decide to try it out on your ICS thunderbolt!
