Latest Gear Fit Manager (1.112) issues with Galaxy S4 Active - Samsung Gear Fit

Wife's got an S4 Active (4.2.2) and recently had problems with her Galaxy Gear Fit. After a lot of testing, I have found that the hardware is ok on everything but it was the update that came in on the 12th Jan that has been causing the endless "Gear Fit Manager has stopped" pop ups that makes the phone totally unusable.
Putting an older Gear Fit Manager does it no good - because it will just auto update to the latest version as soon as you try to pair it.
The only work around I have at this stage is to use the hacked Gear Fit Manager for other devices. This seems to work and skip the auto update process.
Is there any way I can put the official older software on and stop it from updating to the dreaded 1.112 version?
Thanks in advance..

I have the same problem (S4 Active running 4.2.2), if anyone's got a suitable workaround to the Gear Fit Manager constantly crashing, I'd love to hear it! Simply clearing the cache/data for this app doesn't resolve it

Just in case anyone else is keeping tabs on these forums, I just now updated firmware to lollipop (5.0.1) and Gear Fit Manager is working beautifully. It works a charm on my boyfriends 4.4 Note 3 so I suspected 4.2.2 may have been an issue, and in my case it was.

[Q] ICS Update - Asus Task Manager not working

Hello,
I have an issue with Asus Task Manager.
When I aad it to desktop I just get a pop-up window saying application has stopped. The Widget just prints the number of tasks running but no task list at all and One Clic Cleaning button doesn't work.
I tried a factory reset but it didn't solve the issue.
Anyone else having the same issue ?
Any idea to get it solved ?
Thank you for the attention you'll pay to my request.
That's a known issue, I haven't seen any solution to this yet.
am i really the only person with a working widget? i can add it to the desktop without a problem. it lists all the apps that are running, i can close each one individually and the one-click clean button also works just fine.
Mine works just fine

+1 Widget is working properly for me.
Just added mine to the desktop. It's running fine. Is there a way to uninstall and reinstall the widget?
Mine works... off and on.
Sometimes clicking the little X works to kill an app, sometimes not. Sometimes it will kill the app like 1 minute later. Just hit or miss.
mine does not....tried clearing data etc, no luck
Thank you all for your feedback.
Guess we can just wait for an update or somebody extracting the apk in order to reinstall it.
So, those of us who have a non-working Asus task manager, are we all having a german model?
Well... I bought mine in France.

i have a german model and its not working.
speculation: maybe one of the reasons they delayed the german ICS update for some devices....
Bump, I'm from the US and mine just started doing this..
Not only is my Task Manager widget mostly non-functional, but I've discovered it also seems to cause system-wide problems. Here's what I notice when I have mine running:
1. When I switch to the screen that the widget is on, the LCD dims. When I switch to any other screen, it returns to its standard brightness.
2. My Launcher kept crashing (popping up withe "Wait" or "Close" dialog), and I finally narrowed it down to whenever I switch to the screen containing the Task Manager widget.
I've removed the widget and rebooted, and neither of these problems seems to be occurring. I was having this for awhile, and so I can't say what build it started with. Probably .13, but I'm not 100% sure.
I found this thread by searching for Asus task manager has stopped responding, which I have seen several times today. Mine is a US model. If I don't a solution soon it's going bye bye.
I also have Rom Toolbox installed which has a task manager I think. I wonder if two running at once could be the problem. I don't know if the Toolbox one runs in the background or not. I like the Asus one. If it will work....

Does snapchat not work on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi (GT-P7510)?

Ya I know, this may seem like a stupid question, but believe me I have valid reasons for asking it. So I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi (GT-P7510) that had been sitting around not being used for quite some time. I decided to recently take it out and root it to run the snapprefs xposed module alongside snapchat. Well, first things first, the tablet was running Android 3.0 Honeycomb which is way out of date. I upgraded to the last update available for this tablet which was Android 4.0.4 ICS. through standard system update. I then rooted using CWM recovery and flashing over superuser. All worked well and the tablet was rooted. I installed the latest version of snapchat from the play store and attempted to login with ABSOLUTELY 100% VALID credentials. It went through the processes "logging in, verifying device, etc." and then crashed to the home screen. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, signing up for new accounts, switching google accounts on the device, creating new google accounts, making sure google accounts were syncing correctly, making sure time and date was correct, downgrading snapchat to older versions, EVERYTHING. Absolutely nothing worked. The funny thing is that when initially opening snapchat, it would have the main screen where you see your camera open and have snap/stories notifications, etc. Then it would finish loading and go to the login/signup screen (since no account was logged in). That was when the problems would occur. I'm even able to sign up for new snapchat accounts which would go through just fine (I would receive the email notification from team snapchat), but when it was time to go to the main snapchat screen it would crash the same way as when logging in. At this point I was convinced that snapchat simply had issues running on 4.0.4 or something. I decided to flash a custom ROM to solve this. The first ROM I flashed was Nameless 4.4.4 .. Again, EXACT same issues. I was like wtf?? I then flashed Omni 4.4.4 and yep, same exact issue. I then tried CM 10.1 (4.2.2) and again, same issues. I went back to completely stock ICS 4.0.4 using Odin and ya, same issues as the first time. I really don't understand at this point. I thought it could be snapchat account issues so I tried logging in and logging out with all accounts that I attempted on the tablet using my Galaxy S6 Active which worked completely fine, so it's definitely something with the device. I'm someone that can typically figure out things for myself through researching, but at this point I'm really stuck, and I had to join this forum for assistance. If anyone would be able to help, I would GREATLY appreciate it. Does anyone have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi (GT-P7510) that they are currently running snapchat on? This is the original 10.1, and not the 2 or 3, and so on. Would anyone know what could possibly be going on? I wouldn't think that it would take much to run an app like snapchat, and I would think that the Tab 10.1's hardware would certainly be more than capable of doing so. The latest version of snapchat requires 4.0 and up, so I wouldn't think the android versions that I used would be an issue. Even the stock ICS 4.0.4 should be able to run it just fine. CM 10.1 was 4.2.2 and the other 2 ROMs that I tried were Omni 4.4.4 and Nameless 4.4.4.
I look forward to any help that can be provided. Thanks ahead of time everyone.
Got any solutions?

More info about pairing Gear S and Android 6.0 device(Nexus 5)

Hello,
I have tried the steps described in post #212 in the how to pair with non Samsung device topic, however the app can now detect that build.props have been tempered and won't connect to it. After I used the trick to click the watch icon I was able to active the watch, however connecting to my Nexus 5 proves to be not so easy task
If anyone has connected the phone can you post a short guide on how to connect it(which version of the Host Manager, Gear Manager and the Stub are you using will be enough).
Ty
I'd also like information about this. I have a Nexus 5 and just got a Gear S, and all of the tutorials for making them compatible, here and elsewhere, are out of date and broken by Marshmallow. In any case they don't work for me. Is it possible now? Could a new tutorial be put together?
I am seriously thinking about reverting back to 5.1.1 as waiting for Samsung to update their apps for Android 6.0 would take some time as even their S6 Edge frontman phone has not received Marshmallow, yet ;(
android wear with Gear S
until then ..maybe android wear for Gear S? any news on that part of dev ?

Can you give me solution in 5.1.1 how paired ?
I've used the BlissPop Rom with the solution in this post:

No need to change your build.prop if you preactive your watch.
However the thing that annoyed me most was that it doesn't matter if I pick up the call on my phone or watch, the call always gets transferred to the watch. So you have to manually transfer the call to the phone each time you get one....
Not to mention that I got contacts synced somehow, but the messages and any other app's notification, did not get send to my watch, even when the app is selected in Gear Manager notification settings....
So I ended up buying used S5 and tbh after removing some of the bloat I enjoy the S5 more that I did my Nexus 5.

Gear fit manager on S5 Marshmallow, unable to set custom wallpaper

Is anyone having the same issue as I have?
Today I did a factory default reset of my Galaxy S5, since I had upgraded to Marshmallow version. With that, I had to pair with my gear fit again, losing all its settings (including the wallpaper).
But when I try to set the custom wallpaper again, after selecting the photo from gallery, the app freezes, unable to crop and save the photo.
Thanks in advance for any responses..
But apart from this issue, is it working marshmallow on the S5? I would like to upgrade the OS but I fear losing the connectivity to the gear...can you tell me if you had any other issues? In particular, are the notifications working ok?
Thank you in advance

Hi all!
I've updated my wife phone to marshmallow and now gear fit manager crashing immediately after start. She had a version that was patched for lollypop. Any idea if this issue is widespread and has any fix?

Strange behavior with brand new T-Rex

So my T-Rex finally arrived yesterday.. and I figured I'd get it set up quickly and start playing with it.
Phone: Galaxy S9/VZN/Android 10.
Watch: Amazfit T-Rex.. firmware 0.0.1.41
Loaded up the Amazfit software and it paired just fine.. and it immediately saw the new firmware (0.0.1.77) an attempted to update. At this point it starts.. gets partially through, locks up and the watch reboots. Upon reconnecting.. it generally tries again.. and again.. and again. I eventually got it to stop trying to upgrade for a bit, and saw some other weirdness.. but it wasn't stable long enough to really mess with it.
So.. I pulled out an old phone that had been factory wiped.. Galaxy S7 running Android 8. This time the update seems to succeed.. but it doesn't see the newer firmware when you check for updates. Also, I don't want to switch to an S7 on Android 8.
I tried Notify & Fitness.. and I have downloaded the latest firmware (0.0.1.79, I believe).. I'm tempted to try updating it from the S7 manually.. then seeing if it works better with the S9.
Any bright ideas? I'm surprised that this is the only place that has anything CLOSE to a support community for these watches - so thanks for existing!
I'm dangerously close to putting it right back in the box and sending it back.. because their support emails say 'average 2 days to reply'.. yikes.
Update - used Notify and Fitness on the older S7 to manually update it to 0.0.1.79.. which took.
When connecting it back to the S9 (the actual phone I need it to work with!), it showed the correct firmware but still keeps trying to update SOMETHING (resource library, I believe).. which causes the crash/loop again.
Went back and updated the resource library from the S7.. and when connecting back to the S9 it got stuck in some 'open app and check for updates' screen. Connected back to the S7 and it's happy.
Connecting back to the S9 keeps triggering an attempted (and failed) update. I can't get the thing stable enough to even see if it's worth keeping
Also - when I had it functioning enough to play with it for a few.. it listed almost all my apps for notifications EXCEPT my actual SMS program of choice.
This thing is a mess.

Hi , I’m facing a same problem with brand new trex with 0.0.1.77. What should I do if IPhone?
I decided to use the workaround to scrap the amazfit app and just use notify and fitness. No more issues on the S9
I followed the directions at freemyband.
No idea about iPhones
