[Q] Problems with the camera of Huawei Mediapad 10 link - Huawei MediaPad, T-Mobile SpringBoard

Hello, yesterday I took a tablet Huawei Mediapad 10 link Android 4.1.2 and while I was playing with it I noticed some things.
Snapchat:
- The picture of the camera is always turned at 90 °, meanwhile in the app-a camera, everything is correct.
Messenger:
- When you choose to take a picture, it gives a black screen and crashes and can not load camera
- When you want to record a voice message and hold the red button, the tablet orientation rotates (landscape <-> portrait) for 1 second and it rings with sound similar to "error"
For now in the other app camera and audio recording work properly.
Attempts to fix:
- I downloaded another camera app and tried to make it default, but the results are the same.
- I read around the net and tried different things - none result.
- Factory Reset, without recovery of information from google account - everything is the same ...
After that I don't know what to do and I hope someone of you can help me!

Auto Rotate problem on Mediapad X1

Previous thread title was not clear so raising new thread.
Auto rotate is not working properly on my device since beginning. Is anyone else facing the problem ?
Device : 7D-503L.
Build : B010
I have used sensor box etc and see that orientation is stuck on top-right corner. images in the link

Tried factory reset etc, nothing seems to be fixing, even going back to B007 also didn't fix it.
I have used B002, B006, and B007: autorotate works fine.
Always limited to three sides/directions! Portrait upside-down is not available; by design.

Is it good for video recording?

Hey,
I'm thinking about buying the phone for mainly video recording.
I'd purchase a stabilizer gimbal with the phone, and use it 95% time in wide angle mode to record 4k videos.
As I don't yet have the phone it's hard for me to tell how good it is for that purpose, but I know that i'd definitely need the following things in video mode:
- turn inbuilt stabilizer off
- change exposures
- lock exposure
- manual ISO setting
- manual shutter speed would be nice, but not essential
- manual focus that stays focused on one place
- NO unnecessary focus hunting in automatic mode (God...that ruins so many videos!) - i hope the laser focus works here
These are usually fairly basic requirements for Photography mode, but sometimes they don't include these in video mode.
If they are not built in the default camera app, does other playstore camera app(like "Manual camera") work on the phone with these settings?
I currently have a Moto X Style that I love, but the video features are all automated and many of the above is locked
Thank you all for the answers

So even though there was no answer, I have went to a phone shop and tried it there. I found that in video mode manual settings are not possible at all, which is a big letdown for the G5.
I'm hoping at least that Open camera at least works on it. That should allow manual controls for video too. Has anybody tried it?
Hi!
Open camera is working fine. One of the few apps that also can use the wide angle camera!
When I want to record video with perfect audio I use my zoom h2n recorder as external mic and adjust the audio gain: perfect for rock concerts, etc.
Just buy a USB-C OTG adapter to USB 3.0 (normal size). Then connect the cable from the mic. At last - perfect audio!
the only advanced & working app I've found till date (which can EVEN change options during recording) is Cinema FV-5.
OpenCamera could be used too sometimes, if you dont have something better.
Ive mostly used 3rd party video apps with my G5, instead of the stock camera too, though its hard to find one that will use both lenses.

Emui 8.1 - Honor 10 camera bug

I'm using a Honor 10 with EMUI 8.1.0
Patch version: COL-L29 8.1.0.146 (C432patch02)
Actual version: COL-L29 8.1.0.146 (C432)
Issue:
When using the camera with the AI and it recognizes a human face (portrait mode) I can only shoot two pictures no matter what I do.
At the first two picture taken, it can be seen on the lower left small picture preview icon that the photo is taken, but after that, no matter on what I aim the AI can change its mode (e.g. from portrait to text), but neither the software camera button does not do anything, neither the volume buttons.
The button itself is pushed but nothing happens.
I've already tried to erase the cache and wipe all data what the camera have from the application settings.
Also tried to restore default settings from the camera app settings, but nothing helped.
This issue occurs since the latest update which are fixes some pubg related graphical issues.
Before that point I could do infinite portrait pictures.
Does anyone else have this issue?
Any idea what can I do to fix this issue?
Same issue
I have the same issue, I have also taken the same steps to try and eliminate it.
Build number: COL-L29 8.1.0.148(C432)
I have found that disabling AI camera stops the issue, the camera still does the face recognition and focus, but you don't get the AI enhancements and the auto portrait mode. At the moment I've just had to disable AI which is a shame

Slow motion video are not recorded

Hi there, just bought Redmi note 9 pro global and the I have noticed that the camera in Slow motion 960fps and 240fps are not working:
- 120 fps is working fine : video is correctly saved in gallery
- 240 fps : clicking on button to start it launch record video but after clicking to stop it will save nothing (tested with SD card and with internal storage)
-960 fps clicking on the button will launch the 360 rotation effect on the button but after that nothing happen all is blocked, I must cancel the camera app.
Anyone can help me ?
Same here, global and exact same issues!
I'm on the XIAOMI EU ROM and habe no problems, 240fps is working fine and also saves the video.
Only issue I have is that slowmo recording with 960fps stops after 5 seconds automatically...seems there is a time limit for 960fps, what is really a bit annoying...
FIXED
Problem solved after having spent a long time to grind all the options, it seems that the problem is due to setting an animated wallpaper, indeed when I replace the animated wallpaper by a non-animated background everything is back to normal, now everything works perfectly.

Nice to read that you found the solution.
I'm interested if you still have the problems with 960fps that I'm facing, that the recording on this mode stops automatically after 5 seconds?
Also, the videos with 120fps and 240fps starts the first few seconds in normal speed, before the slowmo begins?

Yes I have the same behaviour you described for 120fps, 240fps, and for 960fps too I think it is normal, because recording with 960fps should be limited to a certain limited time due to size file reasons.
wow bro, you're a genius. solved to me also. Thanks

Question Videos are washed out in many apps such as Google Photos/Chrome

Hello all,
This has been an issue since I got the pixel 6 at launch. When playing videos, the shadows appear washed out. It appears to be some sort of gamma shift or HDR tone mapping issue. This happens when in google photos, chrome browser, imgur, even other apps. (youtube is fine).
I've confirmed in person this happens to other pixels one of which was pixel 6 pro.
The issue is recorded here:
I tried changing the color setup under display options in system settings, turning off H265 in camera settings, booting into safe mode, forcing 60hz refresh rate, but it still washes out the videos.
This does not happen with videos shot by other phones, for example my wife's iPhone shot video then sent it over to me and the gamma shift does not happen...
Strange thing is, in Chrome while playing the video, as soon as I swipe up from the bottom to open the recent apps, the video jumps back to normal as seen here:
https://imgur.com/a/Va3l5fQ
I reported this to google, and their chat support to me to fully nuke my phone to factory....
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening, and could other Pixel 6 users verify it's happening on their devices as well ?
Thank you

I seldom shoot video with phones and usually don't like to reference reviews. But from what you described Dxomark's summary about video performance is looking to be spot-on.
Google Pixel 6 Camera review: An outstanding performer in its segment - DXOMARK
The Google Pixel 6 camera displayed an outstanding performanc and is currently the best option for photographers who prefer smaller devices.

My experience with dark objects in still photos has been somewhat similar. Recently I couldn't get enough detail photographing black camera bodies I'm selling online. Even with direct light from a daylight LED lamp I ended up using night mode. Every speck of dust showed up which wasn't ideal either.
Over all, though, I like the Pixel 6 camera.

Did you ever find an answer to this? I'm having the same issue... though it's not for every video, just in certain programs/websites.
Cheers.
I've been able to remedy this in chrome by turning off HW Overlays in Developer Options.
It's still an issue in Google Photos.

Sorry if I didin't understand it at first, the toggle to disable HW Overlays in the developer options will always turn off again, at least in Pixel 6, so that's what confused me

Huh it stays on on note 10 . In that case i am not shure how u can keep it on. Can u elaborate on when it turn itself off back again?
Weird, after I turn it on, I can go to any other screen on the phone, if I come back the toggle it´s off again, maybe it´s a bug on my end, here´s the example
