Hey guys, question: I'm using Google Messages for my sms app. I'm on Verizon. Whenever someone sends me pics, it always reduces them to under 30k. Is there another sms app that will bring them in full size? I cant find anything in the settings on my end to change it. Thanks in advance.

Hi all.
I have a problem with sending mms on x10 with 2.3.3. The problem is that it does not compress images well. Pictures taken in the quality 8MP 4:3 larger than 2mb compresses the 413k. Max in MMS I can upload 300kb. Do you have a patent on it so that high-quality images could send mms. I do not want to do every time lower images specifically for sending mms.
Is there any alternative application or program to compress images on android 2.3.3?
The all in lower quality pictures send and receive without a problem.
I have the same problem, so I use Handcent just when I need to send a picture.
I prefer the stock sms app to daily use.

I use Go SMS and I don't have any problems with sending MMS..
x10i 2.3.3 rooted.
Im' having this exact same issue, but now I'm using WB roms and still same problem. Images are compressed to between 350-450kb and I can not find an option anywhere in the default app or the system settings to set a maximum mms size.
I have looked for this but no answer is coming up. I am running Cyanomod 7.1.1 on my tbolt and suddenly ever photo I send is resized to a small resolution regardless of mms, facebook post or email. Can someone help with this? I can not find a way to mass change this.
*Okay email directly will send a non resized pic but if shared within a program the email will still be resized.
As it says in the title, I try to send a screen shot via a group message in the stock app, and it says size limit reached. I tried sending it individually, but it doesn't work. Can we seriously not send a screenshot via messaging?? There has to be a way around this, without downloading or using another app.
edit: It sent fine via Hangouts. Side note, has anybody had any luck using Hangouts as their primary SMS/MMS app?

I use hangouts for SMS and MMS and have 0 issues
I did on my S3 and I liked it.. Lacks any semblance of customization for now though. Wasn't happy about the white background with that screen..
My only guess for your problem is that for some reason it wasn't shrinking the file size automatically for mms if it was too large? Seems goofy though

you may upload to cloud like dropbox or google drive and send the link via sms
So you tried to tell me today in 2014 is not possible to send video from android which android recorded, like simple sms or pic ?
Hi i'm sure this has probably been answered before but I didn't know where to look.
I have a Samsung S4 on AT&T and every time I try to send an image or video it wont send because the file is to large. Just wondering if there is an app or a hack around this problem?
I use email when possible or Dropbox but not everyone has Dropbox. It's more convenient to just send pictures or videos over text. I know Iphone has no limit because they are running Imessage. Why doesn't Android have something like this?
Thank you,
Sean
