Speed up your G Pad works with any version - G Pad 8.3 Android Development

I was looking for something to speed up my G Pad LTE and this seems to work very well. I am not the developer of this. Just thought I would share it for anyone else who is looking to speed up there G Pad in one easy step. Mod should work with all version.

Interesting, Thanks, I'll check it out! How long have you been running it? Are you on a stock rom or custom rom & kernel?

Ive been running it for about 3 days now without any problems. Im currently on the stock rom. There is also another mod called PurePerformanceX that also works well. However i seen a big speed increase with the one listed above. Im not sure if the one above will work with custom roms, but I do know PurePerformanceX will work with custom roms.
Here is the link to PurePerformanceX:

Optimus V ROM options?

Im getting ready to buy this phone, its the Virgin Mobile US model which to me looks to be exactly like the Optimus S from sprint. I was wondering what my ROM options were using this specific model, or if that even really mattered much. I want maximum performance for games and apps but aiming for decent battery life too, maybe something that scales and only overclocks when it needs it kinda thing (ive played with SetCPU and Milestone Overclock before on a moto Defy). Any help would be appreciated.
On a sidenote, does anyone know how Rocket Bunnies runs on this phone?

Someone from android central tried cm7 for the optimus s and said it was working pretty good.
saw a phandroid post of a rom called Xionia-VM designed for the optimus V. Ill keep an eye out for that, do you guys have any experience with this?
Here's a subforum dedicated to optimus V, it may be possible to use the ROMs from Optimus S, since they're so similar, but it might be best to ask there first.
yeah from what i gather if i use Optimus S roms the home and menu buttons will be backwards and the accelerometer wont work. @[email protected]
There are 2 working ROM's so far on the Android Central Forum for Optimus V, I'm currently running Rodmius 1.1 myself. Works great. Haven't tried Xionia yet

Suggest a Rom for my Gtab

So I took the plunge and bought my self a Gtab, not too keen on blowing ridiculous amounts of money on tech, so for the specs and price tag the Gtab seemed to be the best bet.
Now I am fairly comfortable flashing Roms, I just would like some input from the community.
So whats the most functional and stable rom available currently?
CM7 has always been my go to first base rom for pretty much any phone I have flashed, but I dont quite like it on my Nook Color, its fairly buggy, but I blame the nook not CM7
but Hardware Acceleration sounds nice, and I know that none of the Comb roms have it, but neither do the GB Roms either right?
Looks like Clemsyns V8 is probably the best 2.2 rom out, but how is it in terms of functionality and compatibility with newer 3d games and other applications?
any other input would be greatly appreciated, I just figured I ask before I go on a flash spree, because it usually takes me a couple weeks of flashing this and flashing that before I settle on a rom and I didnt really want to drag this out that long. I just wanna flash, and use until ICS Stable Rom is released.
FrankenTab and Beastly ROMs are FroYo based and should have hardware acceleration, camera and video support. Plus, they are actively being updated. They aren't Honeycomb, and I still prefer VeganTAB 7.1 (even without hardware acceleration), but the FroYo ROMs will pretty much have everything working until a stable ICS version hits.
Sent from my gTablet using Tapatalk.
I've tried most of them at some point I guess it matters what you are willing to sacrifice. I love the look and feel of Flashback but no hardware acceleration, no camera, more ram used by the system ... (all Honeycomb roms are like that).
CM7 works great and I keep one gtab on it. MX Player has Tegra 2 software acceleration for video and most games and apps work. Has been very stable for 4 months, not buggy at all and looks great.
My other gtablet has landed on Beasty-Clemsyn. It is a Froyo rom, very stable and very fast with full hardware acceleration. I ended up here because everything just works like it is supposed to. Installed the new market, flashplayer, new version of VTL launcher and I really like it. It will hold me over till an ICS rom comes out.
FrankenTab and Beastly
I've been switching between FrankenTab and Beastly myself.
I think FrankenTab looks nicer overall but I've run across less issues with the Beastly rom and so I've settled with that until ICS is released for our G Tab.
Let us know which roms you try and your experience with them.
I am pleased that my FrankenTAB ROM has found its way over to XDA.
I would love to hear any issues users are having since we are actively developing this ROM (currently working on v1.0.2), but I cant help over here yet with an official support thread. If anyone needs help, you can PM me here, or google FrankenTAB and look for the original and most active thread for it on the site that starts with an "S".
Franken Tab is a great rom, I also went through allot of flashing trying different roms, soon the ICS ROM will be around and I am using the pre-alpha so what ever you decide set up for 1.2Bl and the latest CWM touch version. its coming n its cool.
Yup FrankenTab is the first rom I have flashed on this thing, and I am liking it so far.
-great wifi integrity
-fast as hell
-and the included VTL launcher is nice too.
plus having the ability speak with the Dev directly about suggestions and bugs is very nice as well.
If you want Flash to work well are you limited to 2.2 ROMs?

Flash works fine in 2.2 and 2.3 based ROMs. I have it working just fine in VeganTab GE 7.1.
From what I understand, it works (with caveats and quirks) in Honeycomb, and only with certain versions of Flash.
Sadly after messing with Franken and Beastly, I found my self at CM7s door.
Franken had me really really excited at first, it was fast, it was responsive, I only had it set at 1.33ghz, but there were a few issues with both that I found a bit to unstable for my taste.
Will see how CM7 holds me over.
I love 1.09 frankentab. It performs better then anything I have tried but is way behind brilliant corners in bench mark tests. I can't figure that out because it's seems 5 times faster in real life.

Hello,
I have had my Gtablet for about a year, and I have tried many roms.
FY,GB,HC,ICS,etc. Various incarnations. (Well, only 1 ICS)
From my understanding, Viewsonic, like many companies,
uses various suppliers for components, so the individual results with roms will vary.
And the physical build may vary. eg/ Volume (+) is actually (-)
(this is a reported build difference that my tablet has)
I seem to come back to Froyo roms for many reasons. Base platform OS.
Hardware acceleration. Stability. Etc.
Personally, I haven't found a newer gen rom that works as well as Froyo.
As stated on this and other sites, Be sure you follow the recomended
procedures for pre and post install. usually posted in the OP.
Really get to know and understand NVflash.
I always come back to the C+C rom final version. Beasty, although nice,
wouldn't do what C+C does for me.
I use my tablet as much, if not more than I use my PC, and I can run Splashtop
to access my pc, which is cool.
I do find certain games or apps that wont work, but, I am patient.
No problems with google apps.
It really comes down to researching, and testing, and finding out
the best rom for you and your tablet.
After all, this support, is almost free. Kudos to the devs.
J.
sorry. this is on another post. hope that is ok.
I've been on FrankenTAB 1.0.9 for two weeks or so and so far one of the best Froyo ROM's I've tried. I flashed quite a few ROM's for the 1.2BL but this one seems to work the best for me at the moment.
I just put the ICS rom on my gtab, and it looks great. Installing it wasn't that hard, I did have to switch bootloaders to 1.2. The only issue is I can't get my external SD card to work. I love using chrome.
In ICS, the external sd card is not named the way it is in other ICS distributions...look for /microsd folder instead of /emmc or /sdcard/external_sd like you may be used to.
If anyone is already on BL 1.2, ICS is definitely worth installing. The only two things that I've found that do not work are the camera and microphone but for me both are non-issues.
Hello ive been using my gtab with tnt rom and it runs really good

verizon sch-i905 - 4.0.4 kernel ?

just got a replacement for my verizon xoom that got stolen. i understand that 4g is not working on any of the 4.2 roms.
is their a kernel that will work and not break the 4g? (stock 4.0.4 is nice but need alittle more out of the cpu)
or a decent stable rom that is overclockable at the 4.0.4 or above, that doesn't break 4g?
after searching for hours i got a unlocking thread, recovery thread, but unclear on a good 4g rom.
on my xoom i ran teameos nightly builds and got real used to stable, fast roms. i use my tablet all day for work and need something nice.
thanks in advanced for any suggestions.:fingers-crossed:
Nevermind this thing doesn't have HDMI out so its going back to Verizon I'm getting a xoom 2.
although no real roms for the xoom2 it does have rom slots to tweak

[Q] Favorite AOSP KK ROM?

Curious what other folks like for AOSP KK on the LG G2. Specifically, I have the Verizon variant. I've tried CM11 - though not recently - and like everyone had the well documented freezes and reboots. Most recently, I've been running Mahdi-Rom 2.5 Beta 4 and it's been pretty solid with occasional lock ups most affecting my launch (TSF Shell). Anyways, what are you running and what do you like about it? How's speed, stability and battery?
We do not allow threads which compare ROMs as developers do not like seeing their work compared to that of others.Besides everyone has their own needs and what's best for one person may not be what's best for someone else.

[POLL] KitKat vs Lollipop, which do you stick with?

So, it's been a while since Lollipop is out, does it fulfill your needs, or do you prefer KitKat instead?
Kitkat bro.
LG was like: throw in G3 UI by changing icons etc and we have lollipop for G2 ready! -,-

I was with lollipop for some time. But i prefer kitkat. The battery life is better and the heat from the phone is not so much with kitkat.
I recently bought g2 32g and just used kitkat for one day ? then switched to lollipop , didn't test battery life on kitkat but it find it good with lollipop 5~6h SOT , and i like to be up to date with android and developers always leave their projects for new ones .
Have the G3 now, but when I had the G2 I stuck with KK. So much more fluid, much better battery life, charged much faster as well.
The few times I ran LP on the G2 (just to see what it felt like), I immediately went back to KK.

Please let me kidnap the thread a little bit and ask you guys, what's your favourite KK rom? Tried LP but it's not quite my thing yet... If possible a rom that is not stock based. I guess that being not stock will make the camera quality crap, but I just tried resurrection LP and it's so much faster than stock ROMs...

This is kinda off topic, but for me Cloudy G2 2.2 KK ROM has been great. Awesome battery life, good Kernel and it's based on the stock G3. It also uses the G3 camera stock app, which I personally think is better than the one with g2.

I was thinking to flash the latest lollipop kdz for few days again but, when i come back to check what it was with lollipop i am not sure to give it a try again or not. Lol.

I am using stock 30b with no bugs so far.. You won`t know till you try. :highfive:
Kitkat are faster and more practical..lolipop is more polished and "modern" looking but slower and more bugs introduced..so its kinda peak your poison
Well, later i will flash it then . ☺Thanks for the answers! ☺
After 10 months, still running stock KitKat, TWRP recovery, rooted, Dorimanx kernel, heavily modified with G2 Settings and other Xposed modules.
Can't get myself to test out some custom ROMs because of the possibility of screen stripes, even flashing the kernel was a small heart attack for me. Don't think I'm a sissy, I've flashed the sh!! out of my previous stuff (Milestone, Optimus 2X, X10, G Pad 8.3 etc.) but when there is a chance that the proces can RANDOMLY go wrong and you get permanent stripes on the screen, naah, I'm not risking that.
What I've heard about Lollipop, the switch definitely isn't worth it.
But if Marshmallow comes out for G2, I might revert back to completely stock and try it out, even though I might miss all the freaking awesome stuff from my KitKat (removing the headphone hiss, advanced camera (4K, slowmo, noise gate removing) and many other stuff).
I vote for lollipop but only custom one. I've used Ressurection Remix for several months and I am extremely satisfied with it. No problems, crashes, faster than stock KK.

I've tried lollipop stock, aosp and yes, it's smoother than kitkat because of art. But as I've tried miui I can't leave it. And it's kitkat.
