[HELP] S2 gt-i9100: No SIM,IMEI....and more. - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

**EDIT** After reinstall step by step(?) BusyBox again i got not more problems with GSII_Repair and got my IMEI, SIM and all working, i guess i did something wrong when installing BusyBox first time. The only problem i got now come from that i cant play videos from Dailymotion on browsers like Opera or Firefox; All the other videos play fine(youtube, vk....), but when trying to play a video from dailymotion says that media is not supported( this in opera and firefox), but using the Dailymotion app all videos i tried work fine. I want to say that before i lost IMEI and tried tons of solutions, videos from dailymotion worked pretty well, and by now i think is cause of the root i made, that is listed below. Tried installing flash player and nothing. Any ideas?. i will keep searching!, thanks for your time.
**Old and Desperated explain of my solved problem (Thanks to GSII_Repair and Patience)**
Here im going to try to explain my problem the best possible to try to find a solution without sending it to techincal service.
After reboot my device it stopped detecting SIM card, and the IMEI was null when typing *#06#. I never touched the android operating system even to update it, was the stock ROM. I entered this 'world' yesterday cause of need, so i might being telling you incoherent things, that and my english is bad, so sorry in advice.
Info about my device:
-Android Version: 2.3.5
-Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKJ3-CL647431 [email protected]#2
-Compilation Number: GINGERBREAD.BGKJ3
-Model Number: GT-I9100
What i have tried?:
-To root my device with this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...12-k-la-lp-t1103399/post14283342#post14283342.
Wanted to root to try to use GSII_Repair. Root worked but kept getting problem with GSII_Repair, the 3 steps: program kept telling me i needed to fix my BusyBox(Which is installed). Also wanted to try to flash with the oficial ROM 2.3.5 again but didnt find any link alive to download it.
- Factory data reset (Ended with worse situation, cause cant use google play or concnet to wifi)
-Tried with the 9 steps guide in this forum to recover the IMEI, but cant delete 'efs' folder cause 'the data system is only for reading', was using root explorer. (didnt check a lot in the comments cause no time)
Curious thing is my efs folder is there and i think it got all inside, i did a zip file (with root explorer) and saved it to my pc. All the apps im using on my device come from my pc cause i cant use wifi nor google play aka market.
I might be forgetting things, so i will try to update this post even if we find a solution. Thanks again for your time.

[Q]GoClever A93 Tablet issue

First of all - if this is the wrong section, then i'm terribly sorry.
I have a serious issue with my Goclever A93 tablet. Some time ago i've decided to root the device as well as remove some of the useless, bundle apps however i do think i've removed a little too much.
The problem is the tablet properly uses the sync option to sync emails with my google account however i'm not able to download ANY app from Google Play Store. Whenever i'm trying to do so (either update a pre-installed app or simply download a new one), the download simply freezes.
IN other words, i select either UPDATE or DOWNLOAD for an app, then hit the ACCEPT & Download button and that's it. There is an information "Downloading ...", the progress bar is moving HOWEVER the download never starts!
I've tried a huge variety of solutions - i've updated the tablet's software (from 4.0.4 to 4.0.4 but a newer build), updated Google Play app to 3.5.19 (newest i guess), removed external SD card, did dozens of factory resets -still nothing.
I'm guessing, again, that i've removed too much system apps while in the root mode, nevertheless i do not know which ones i'm missing ;(
The device still has a warranty however if anyone has any idea how to fix the issue without sending the device for a repair - i'd be much obliged.
plz hlp ;( ;( ;( ;(
I had simillar problem after the root with my goclever. You need to do a full format via Livesuite. At the beginning the software ask for the format mode; manditory or upgrade you need to choose the 1st one and confirm twice. suggested upgrade mode doesn't help in case of this problem.
Thank you Pawel, unfortunately this is not the case :/
I've tried simply every method i found on the net - i've flashed the device using the newest IMG from goclever.com site (dated to 29072012), i've installed the newest G Play App (3.8.19 i assume), i've formated the device like bilions of times, removed the external SD card.
The only apps/games i can install from the market are those over 50MB (which require donwloading additional file through WiFi); i've managed to install Batman and some other games but only because the additional file was required for download. As for the rest of the apps - NO method works.
I guess i'll need to send this since the warranty is still valid
ok, found a solution. It turns out GoClever screwed the system IMAGE up. Reverted back to the older rom and it's working fine.

Stuffed my LG Optimus F3

Hi All,
I've screwed my one day old LG. I have the Australian Telstra version - LG-P655K.
Rooted fine but got trigger happy deleting some of the system apps. Basically I must of deleted some sort of downloading app as the Play Store no longer works plus I can't download any files through Chrome.
Furthermore when accessing Play Store through Chrome, it doesn't recognise my device even though I'm logged in. Guessing some sort of backup between this new device and my Google account has screwed up as well.
I've searched all over Google looking for the stock firmware in an attempt to flash it and get it back to normal. However no luck in finding it.
Anyway, I'm basically on the verge of simply buying a new phone. Can anyone help with locating the stock firmware for this phone? And maybe a stretch, but basic instructions as to how to flash it?
More than happy to make a donation to anyone that can help (if that's what people do on here, sure I've read that on other posts)
Thanks in advance.
I may be telling you what you already know but try to factory reset your phone. if that doesn't work you should find a recovery mod and firmware for your device, transfer them onto your SD card from a PC via USB and follow the steps to flash the original firmware.

Sorry, but this is bad advice as the OP obviously deleted something in /system, which a factory data reset will do nothing to help. It might even make it worse since many LGs are very sensitive about trying to run with missing bits of the /system and will throw a Security Error after resetting (possibly) or trying to update via OTA (for sure). They also already stated that they have not had luck locating the stock firmware, hence the reason for their post. I understand your willingness to help, which is great, but bad advice in these kind of situations might be worse than no advice.
Unfortunately, in a quick search, I was only able to find the specific firmware version for your phone off a Chinese site that you'll probably need Google Translate for (unless you or someone you know is fluent) and to sign up for an account there to get the link:
http://poweredw.gaodi.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=662939
I am not familiar with the site, so can not make any promises to whether it'll work or what other steps would need to be taken.
Another thing that I would try, would be to download a rom (have only found them for some US carriers) and unzip the rom and look in /system/app and compare with what's left in yours to see if anything important looks like it is missing.
http://androidforums.com/metropcs-t...-root/868464-rom-ms659-p659-slimlite-rom.html
Do not attempt to use that rom for your phone, it is only for comparitive purposes.
Done this before...
If google play isn't working, more than likely you've deleted Application Manager. I was debloating my Optimus F3 and uninstalled Application Manager, and lost GP with an error every time I would try to download an app. You could probably save yourself a factory reset if you could download the Application Manager as an apk via PC and move it to your phone and re-install.
Then again, if you didn't uninstall Application Manager, I wouldn't know what else has been removed.
How did you perform the root on the telstra LG p655k
Wouldn't mind knowing how you performed the root access on your phone
Thanks

[Q] Got Root no Access or do I?

Hi guys, yep another newbie
Stressed to the max and have read threads here and elsewhere til my eyes bled, watched so many Tube Vid's I think I've actually fried my brain
(Also having trouble with Flashtool but can't post there yet, running Ubuntu 12.04,tried Wine and XP in a VM to no avail)
I have an unlocked Xperia X10i that was rooted by a mate using an older version of Flashtool and he said the Firmware was the 2nd last one for Xperia X10. (can't post link yet)
By the looks of the "Settings"- "About",it shows what seems by all the reading here that its stock 2.3.3
It reads:
Android V.2.3.3
Baseband v.2.1.71
Kernel v.2.6.29-00054-g5f01537
[email protected] #1
Build number. 3.0.1.G.0.75
I've used Apps to check I have root and some say I do,some just hang until I hit the back button and I get the same error I get with all SU related Apps. It says " Activity Superuser Request(in application Superuser)is not responding."
I have used SU Update Fixer and it says:
No problems detected.
Checking signatures.....OK!
If I use SU Binary updater it says.
Downloading manifest...fail!
Hit try again and it says:
Sorry!
The Apllication Superuser(process com.noshufuo.android.su)has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. [Force close]
Basically,I'm totally over it and stressed as it it is.
I would like to get root access and use Flashtool to rid the bloatware, install Xrecovery, but atm to fix the audio stutter so I can use it for my relaxation stuff without snapping out of a meditative state....then when I get the hang of things well.....:highfive: onto better things
Mainly for now,I'd like to dump the bloatware crud and use the relaxation recordings...god knows I need them!!
I do have the xRecovery Installer on the SD card but when I launch that, it hangs and I get the earlier error.
A few other odd things like not being able to backup all the stuff and I have Titanium Backup Pro showing in the "Manage Applications" but it's gone from the Menu(not that it worked because of the SU problem.)
I have searched and searched and until I'm 100% on the whole Flashtool thing, I'm not game to go stuff it and do another root...not that I have that nailed yet.
Sorry for the long winded explanation guys,it's really doing my head in.
Any help would be greatfully accepted.
Many thanks,
Cheers,
Mushy

Cube T9 - No adb commands after reset

I don't know where to start so I'll just begin...
My Cube T9 is using the stock rom with the latest ota update, rooted with busybox and xposed. ( and I didn't backup anything :crying: )
I started having issues with low internal space so I installed link2sd pro. That seemed to work well enough but now I've noticed a few icons missing from my desktop and nav bar after rebooting. I figured this would probably would work better if I reset everything and stated fresh so I did. After reboot, I couldn't connect to the internet because of the dreaded nvram error which I found accompanying a missing imei and serial number. (can you say "schlep-rock"?)
Since I couldn't download from the play store, I tried pushing some files over to the /data/local/tmp and all was fine. I went to use chmod, ls and dir but they were not found.
Now, I just wanted to get it back to functional. Where do I begin?
no expert here but
As title states I am no expert but in my past experience with galaxy tab 1 2 3 and 4 and now t9 after root and using app2sd missing icons after reboots were a norm. For some reasons it seems like missing registries (not a clue was its called in android talk)
My t9 is still not rooted. Think I'll wait it out a bit. Reading too many horror stories.
Have you installed any root explorer?
If so, maybe this is the way? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2197378

Thanks for the info.
I haven't installed anything else because now root seems to be no more and I get this parsing error when I try to install anything. I was trying the install-apk-from-google-drive but now that is a no go with no wifi.
Most issues resolved!

I was able to get everything except the serial number fixed by flashing a v1.02 rom in sections (boot, system, userdata, etc). I've tried every version of flashtool and sp flashtool to no avail. I kept scouring the links of google that led me to a treasure trove of goodies. Down toward mid-page is what helped me. It's called the "Universal Android Flasher". The only thing I couldn't flash was the recovery.img but I'm not complaining.
All apps install and function fine. No permissions issues at all. Rooted with iRoot. I'm still looking for a serial number fix but I'm not to concerned about that either because wifi is working and my cell service. I'll update again when I figure out this serial fix.
Happy days are here again!
Does anyone know how to access the recovery partition through the adb shell? I've tried /recovery, /dev/recovery and /dev/block/mmcblkOp8 but I can't access. Is there an app that can show me all of the symbolic links?
Thanks

Malware filled phone?

Hey guys, how are y'all doing?
Here's a little background on my problem:
A year ago bought a cheap-ass smartphone for my mom, from a big supermarket chain in my country that was selling french phones cheaply, it was only 60€ and my mom needed a phone, so there it is!
Anyway cut to the present, the phone is riddled of what I suspect is malware that installs itself as soon as I remove it such as Free Games, com.google.toolkit, MiniChrome, N62Androidpt, System Component, adservice, and a couple others.
It also keeps switching wi-fi off, and turning on that option that allows apps to be installed from unknown sources, and worst of all it keeps opening the phone in built browser with adds, and even porn sites on occasion, which is really not desirable as my very young aged nieces love stealing the phone and try to use it.
I installed malwarebytes, also did a factory reset to no avail it fixed nothing.
So I decided to flash a stock rom to see if I could get rid of it, searched around and found a repository of stock roms or firmwares or whatever it's called (I'm not too familiar with this side of smartphones), which I'd love to post, but apparently can't because I've last than 10 posts: doc-doapi.com/EM/selecline/smartphone/
It has a lot of roms for different models of my brand.
Used the UpgradeDownload - R2.9.2015 tool that was in that folder and flashed it successfully.
After I turned on the device it opened the new phone setup process, logged in to my google account, and restores my stuff like contacts, and a few trusted google apps from before the flash, but it soon started again to install those malware apps I stated up there on it's own, and it was soon in the same state as before...
Anyway here's some info about my phone that probably should've gone to the top.
It's a Selecline phone
Model S4S5in3g
Android version: 5.1
Kernel version: 3.10.65
Compilation number: S3S5in3g.V1.2_20160307
At the back it has a sticker and another model number 870712 which I used to find the folder on that repository of stock roms.
And that's all in a big nutshell, anyone has any tips?
Thanks.
lil' bump
Do you have login credentials for this Auchan website where you found the ROMs? It is asking for a login ID and password. I need ROM for Model S6S5IN3G.
Quick tip for getting rid of Malware even before they start. Go to Settings and check Data Usage. See which apps are using lots of data (downloading junk into your device). Note if there are any strange sounding apps that are downloading a lot of data, especially if it is not an app that you yourself were directly using.
Next, flash the stock ROM again. Once you flash the new ROM, you have to find a way to root the device. Try KingRoot. Then after the phone is rooted, go to Playstore and download SD Maid. Run SD Maid and give it root access. In the settings for AppControl of SD Maid, allow it to show system apps. Then run app control and freeze any strange-looking user apps (or anyone that was downloading a lot of data) and system app that are not required.
Please, let me know about the website and how to access the ROMs.
As mentioned before, install a clean room again. Copy virustotal app from the attachment of these post (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77053739&postcount=11) to SD-card and install it. Turn wifi on and let it run. Control every app and the system-apps. Post a screenshot of the findings. If there are findings, then the room is infected. The only way to deal with this, is to root it, install rootexplorer an kill the infected app. This can be dangerous, if for example, the lauchner is infected, an alternative launcher must first be installed and set as default, before you can kill the infected one (otherwise you will own a useless phone until you flash it again ;o).
Hey guys, thanks for trying to help.
I tried literally everything before, I've even somehow got a kitchen up and running and I removed everything that looked suspicious and all those bran add-ons from the rom, but even then I'd still get infected.
I didn't really try the antivirus route though and to be honest I already shelved that phone, but I'm kinda bored, so I'll try y'all suggestions, an extra working phone can always come in handy.
