Heyy, im very intrested in that apk, since grooveshark services stopped and thus no groovemobile by @scilor...
How did you do it? Decompile, edit strings, recompile? Is it possible to have that as a modded-zip that you can flash after update the official apk?

Hi, would it be possible for you to translate the windows version, too?
Really fell in love with the NetEase Cloudmusic service, but my only wish now is, that you could switch the language to english, as its moderately hard to navigate through the program without the chrome translator
Another question:
Was anyone able to successfully remove some permissions from the apk without making the app crash on startup after installation?
I mean the app can get my own number, my microphone input, exact location, estimated location, read my contacts, change system settings AND it even has permission.SEND_SMS
If someone found a (working) way feel free to share, I really love the software and would like to use it on mobile as well.
EDIT: ok I was able to remove the send_sms without making it crash and then disabled the other stuff with App Ops, now I just need a translated version

ok to download you need the PC app that I was able to install by guessing the Chinese interface...there is a \locales\ folder with .pak files that seem to be for languages, now to find a way to select the ENG one in the interface...maybe by removing all of the others before launching ? Oh and I haven't been able to find where the songs got downloaded...
EDIT - nope moving the other language packs didn't help...

you could try "slide it" by dasur, it is essentially the same idea but it is very clunky and inaccurate compared to a properly trained swype algorithm.

ShapeWriter is OK... Not quite as good as swype, accuracy is very similar. Really the only negative is the location of the buttons (like . , @ etc.) is slightly annoying. I was using it while I couldn't get Swype back (coz of the ROM), and I found it quite a satisfying replacement.

Any news about Swype language packs? Personally I'm interested in adding the Romanian dictionary, i've seen that it's available in the Swype version that comes with the Samsung i9000..
I use this version of swype on my legend. And have the following Languages: Nederlands, English, Deutsch, France, Espanol, Italian, Portugues, Polski, Norsk, Svenska, Dansk, Suomi, Cestina, slovencina, Russian, Romana.

I opened the rar and there is a single file inside called "Swype_1.60.36.8214_HVGA.apk" and I of course do not know what an APK file type is. What is it and how do I install it?
Any help for this noobish question?

Use a file explorer (on phone) to click on the APK file package, and then it'll bring up the install dialog(s).
Or you can use HTC Sync.

Just an FYI for anyone. I just got this installed on my Legend. I love it except for the amount of space it took up on my phone (around 18mb ish)..
So i was curious, I uninstalled swype, went in with ASTRO.. clicked on the swype apk file on my sd card, but I browsed the file this time, rather than installing it. Then went to Assets, Files, and from here you can just manually delete the language packs you dont want/ need.
After said and done, went back with ASTRO and installed it from the sd card, and took a look at the new current file size. I saved about 10mb of my internal =)
Figured I'd just pass on the info, maybe someone will find it useful.

to confirm above experiences, yes apps install but you need to be in compatible region for them to actually work as they all go online to check etc.
I'm not sure whether the region is tied to your IP address or your actual device, if the latter then I'm not going to be to happy ROFL since I could very well have bought it in Australia (where everything IS working) instead of Hong Kong (where nothing is working... which is the exact opposite of the usual situation, but I digress).
I bought my sgpt111US/S in the us, since I'm here for vacation. Normaly I live in Sweden. Here in us the music and video and ps store all works well. I will go back home to Sweden on the 10th of january. Iwill ofcourse try and see if these apps works back home. If no one has chacked this issue before then I'll be happy to oblige.
Not sure though however if Sweden is included in the list of countries that works.
It will be an us machine on swedish soil.
Music Unlimited in Canada
I noticed yesterday that I was able to finally download the Music Unlimited app from the market with my Sony arc. Until now it was not available in Canada. I installed it on my desktop, set up the account synced my music to the service then checked on my Arc to see if it was working. Everything was fine.
The catch was when I went to access the application on my Tablet S through the market. Nowhere to be found. I then accessed the market online through the desktop and found the application but it would not allow a download to any of my devices stating that it is unavailable in my country. Undeterred I checked here, found the APK (thanks , transferred it onto the tablet, installed it and had no issue and everything is fine.
It may just be because it's new to Canada and has not been enabled within all the markets yet for Canada. Going to see if I can get it working on the PS3 now.
Can someone share the latest music unlimited app to me? Thanks.
Because it required me to update and I am not able to download it from android market due to not available in my country.

Just switched over from a N7000 to i717 for LTE speeds, one thing that is missing is native chinese input especially the handwriting feature. Do you know if this is an apk type of package that could be ported over ? Are there custom roms that support this ? Not looking for a Go keyboard or TouchPal alternative as I find these buggy. Wifey has the same concern as you. She is currently using MultiLing from the market. She said it is the best, but still can't draw the characters like she could in the iP***e.
We are still searching/hoping for something better for the Chinese character input.
I recall seeing an apk that ports over the Chinese IME off the n7000 but also involves placing cut and paste of some support files...

I have tried this but the iPhone user can not read the Chinese SMS that I have sent.

That link to download the ROM is fake. It requires a password and the file inside it is an .exe file. Plus, the password he provided was wrong.
That link I provided is for a chinese forum for support on samsung N7000/N7005/I9220/I717/E160/SC-05D. if you don't know what you are doing, don't use it. like most forum it requires user to first login to the forum before one can download contents or files. btw, i never provided any password or anything, just the link to that forum.

One thing I noticed today is that spell check seems to be disabled when using this app. I get spell suggestions from the keyboard but it won't automatically correct words like it does in other apps.

Allright, I recently got my hands on a cheap mt6572 phone and I intended to give it as a gift, but it only has english and some Asian languages available in the settings menu, and since the person I was going to give this phone to doesn't speak english or any sort of chinese-like language, I'd like to know if it is possible to add other languages to the android(4.2.2) running on this phone. Considering that those apps on the store that supposedly add languages have already been tested and don't seem to work.

Hi. No way, without recompile system firmware.
"The settings app just shows you all of the locales that are available in the platform resources. Adding strings for a new locale should automatically have those shown in settings. You tell the build system which locale resources to include when it does the build... unfortunately I can't help you on that part, but maybe someone else can."

Oh well. Sounds like trouble considering that the phone does not feature proper recovery (like CWM) for restoring everything in case something goes wrong =/
