Peculiar issue on Facebook - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, good morning, yesterday a very peculiar thing happened on my facebook.
I've sent a message to a person on the 7th of February and on that day the person read the message. So far so good because it appeared the "seen" and the date (same day in that case) and time that the person read.
However ever since yesterday, the same message that was read on the 7th appeared that was not read by the person. What would not be something out of the ordinary, as people sometimes mark messages as "unseen" / unread later (even though 18 days after is strange) ... but what is VERY strange is that in the facebook mobile app it still is set as mark as read on the 7th.
So I thought that the problem would be on my browser and face plugins I have (such as social fixer, FB Purity, Social Reviver), the browser would be the variant of Firefox called Palemoon. So I opened Internet Explorer on a private in-window and opened the facebook ... The message still appears as unread (I must remind you guys that before yesterday it appeared as read in the browser too, not just on the mobile app)
So I thought that the problem would be with the facebook mobile app. I use a Moto G 4G with the crDroid ROM (CM12 based). I have the fb messenger installed, but i've frozen the app because doing such I can read private messages on the facebook app as before the creation of the fb messenger.
So .. I opened the facebook app, clicked on the message icon (the icon that between notifications and people add's) and the part of the private messages from facebook opened in the app (again, as the fb messenger app is frozen, it opens as used to open before the creation of the fb messenger on the facebook main app) .. and the message at the facebook app still says that it was read on the 7th as it used to say in the browser before yesterday.
So i've tried to update the messages and still it say that was the message was read. Then i cleaned the cache ... and still says that it was read.
Now I have a conflict of information. On the WEB www.facebook.com (oh, i also tried to open the internet browser from android and it also says that was not read just as in the PC web browser) said before yesterday that the msg was read just like the mobile app still says today ... but as of yesterday the app still says that was read but on any browser it now say that was not read.
Also only this person message have this conflict. All othe's i have still say was read on both devices. So only this person things have change (at least on the web browser it did)
Which should I trust? Is the android app with a bug (i mean i did a work around to read the messages on the main app instead of read on fb messager).. or is there some trick that people use that makes the message to not show that it was read in the browser .. but on android still says that yes, it was read (if so, please note that the person in question would only place the trick yesterday, and if so, would it affect a message that was read on the 7th)?

Problems with facebook chat integration

Hi,
i have a strange problem: i'm constantly connected to facebook chat with my WP7.
(last update)
but i don't receive messages directly to WP7
so when i connect to facebook on my computer i see messages i never had on my phone...
does anybody got the same problem? it was working good 2 month ago and now it doesn't
Is it after updating to Tango?
Delete your Facebook account from your phone and unlink it on your Live account and then join them back together.
This is a problem that is starting to show up for a lot of users. Me included.
Most likely something to do with the integration itself. No one has been able to fix it as far as I know. Happens both on Tango or non-Tango so it's not related to that.
I can get like one or two messages from Facebook in the chat but then I get no more only to find out I got more messages if I log in to Facebook on the web and take a look. The messages just stops being delivered to the phone for some reason.

Have you ever used some kind of third party Facebook Messenger. I used to use IM+ which caused problems, because It didnt sign me off accurately, and left me signed in. This caused the same behaviour that you described. I suggest you to log in to your facebook accout and remove all the unused apps from your profile, and try It again. If It now works, maybe there is something with your operator, maybe they have network instability and lose some network packages or anything like that. If nothing works, try to do a hard reset, but make a backup before that in case It didnt solve your problem.
Yep exactly same thing
i already tried:
- hard reset
- disconnect / reconnect in "Messages" tab
- switch from "available" to "offline" and get back to available
- as OndraSter said, remove facebook link in Live, and then relink it
i hope Microsoft will solve the problem.
as far as i know, everything goes through Live no? so i think it's microsoft problem, not facebook
and i never used other softwares (like IM+)
I had this problem. Solved by itself.
What happens is when you reply a facebook message via integrated message app you'll stop receiving messages until you disconnect and connect again. Seen to be a problem with live integration with facebook, hope it'll be fixed with the new revamp they'll do to make MS web pages more metro.

[Q] Facebook messenger notifications

When I get a message from facebook, it almost always looks the same. usually along the lines of "this is the fir..." but sometimes it is formatted such that it is a long paragraph on the messenger app displaying most of the message but the ending is still cut off with elipses. Is there a fix or workaround for this problem? The last thread I found on the topic was from 6 months ago when there was no messenger support for android wear and it was just the notifications being pushed to the watch. Now that there is notification support is there some way to get the whole message to the watch?
Edit: Discovered that this only happens when there are multiple unread messages in a conversation. very annoying.

Issues with Google Android Messages App Not Receiving MMS and LG's Messenging App

Hey guys...so since I've owned my V30 I've always been a user of Google's Messages app. It works flawelessly other than the fact that MMS's and Group Messages don't always come through. They'll show who sent them and state something along the lines of "unable to download, please click to retry" after doing so, sometimes the message is recovered sometimes it is not able to. More often not able to. Recently, it would seem I've become more annoyed with this issue. After many calls back and forth the with T-Mobile they've recommended I ditch Google's Messages app and use the included LG Messaging app.
Well, I can tell you...I no longer have issues not receiving MMS's or Group Messages....The issue I have now is, the LG app is SUPER SLOW. It can take 10-30 seconds just to open a chat....and if I have a group chat open with an active chat...the entire phone and app will freeze until the last message has stopped being received.
Does anybody have any suggestions to getting Google Messages working, or speeding up the LG Messaging app? I am not rooted so I'm stuck using this crappy app even disabled and not the default messaging app. I also removed LG Package disabler to see if turning something off was the issue but it is not.

Read Receipt

Has anyone else been having issues with messaging iphones requiring a read receipt request lately?
This didn't happen for the first few months. Recently been getting this pop-up every time I receive a message from iPhone users.
Is apple trying to get into RCS and it's causing issues?
Tried all the combinations of settings, chat, SMS, MMS, or otherwise within default SMS app settings. Checked settings on iPhone test phone (couldn't find a "request read receipt" setting), still happens. Group message or otherwise.
The only workaround I've found is using the chat bubble (or using G.messages) . However the read receipt pops back up if I ever open the thread in the default SMS app.

Question How to read WhatsApp group chat without showing it as 'red'?

In a WhatsApp group chat, is there anyway to read messages in a group chat without having the sender get the read receipt? How can I read messages in a group chat without showing the sender I have red their message?
As a partial solution, you can see the most recent one from the the notification bar. Viewing it there doesn't mark it as read.
If you turn Read receipts (settings/privacy) off, people will not see that you have read messages, but you will also not see when they read yours. It (seeing the blue checks) only works when both/all parties have it enabled.
So if you have it on, but I don't, then neither of us will see read receipts in our conversation.

Yes of course there're some ways you can do this, but remember without launch the app:
One is add a WhatsApp widget to your homescreen and stretch it to the maximum. You'll see all what is happening in your WhatsApp without launching it, unless you choose to do so. This way is limited, as too long messages are not shown fully.
Another option is to use third party apps like "notification widget" app which shows you everything there. Likewise if you use "good lock" and it's modules, there's "notistar" in it. This module allows you to see and even copy messages in WhatsApp while on your Lockscreen, I mean without unlocking the phone or launching the app. This is amazing! I like it.
NOTE: All these will show you text and sticker previews from the WhatsApp . I haven't found any app or option that shows images or videos in this way. Should anyone know it, please share.

Is there a way to set the "notification widget" app to only show WhatsApp messages?
