[Q] Add Video to Android Welcome Screen - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings,
We are developing an internal ROM for a Nexus 9 Tablet and we want to put a video on the first-time boot Android welcome screen. The goal would be a video link that opens the full screen video player.
Has anyone tried this before, and is it possible?

Android on HD2 video

Hi Leo Users,
I am considering buying this phone but I need to see how well it handles in android.
Can someone post a video using one of the most recent and more working roms? I want to get an idea of how well it goes.
1. What is currently not supported on the leo?
2. Does all of its ram get ported in android or does it use only a smaller part?
3. What about the camera? Is the camera app using the camera to it's full potential?
4. Video playback? Does it play hd?
5. Is a nand installation of android possible?
Thank you!

1. For each Android distro out there it says in its own topic what's working and what it is not. I know it can't record video in HD 720p.
2. As far as I know, Android uses all available RAM.
3. There are still some issues with the camera, mostly because improvements are still made to native Android phones. I doubt you will use the camera like that. I don't consider it a low point.
4. Video playback is really good and it also plays HD. I tried with some Youtube HD videos and they were ok. Haven't tried with a computer encoded fully fledged HD. I know that there are video players on Android Market that can play all Xvid encoded videos out of the box. Just copy it on the SD card and you are set.
5. At this moment, NAND installation is not possible. There were some major improvements done and I think it will be possible to be functional at some point.
6. I would add the fact that HD2 can run a lot of Android flavors because it can launch them from within WinMobile. This is something you can never achieve with a native Android phone.
7. Battery drainage is still heavy. Every day something new is discovered on how to improve battery life.
I see you own a Wildfire. HD2 is a lot better that it. I read it on a Romanian tech blog, an editor made a comparison between native Android phones and HD2.

[Q] Help!! Netflix video problem on Vegan-Tab Ginger Edition 7.0.0 (Gingerbread)

Hello All,
I installed netflix-new-mod2.apk on my GTab. I can view
my queue and move around within the application.
When I try to display a video, I get a white screen briefly (5-10 seconds)
and then the application kicks me back to where I started.
Any ideas on how to get Netflix video working?
Thanks,
Paul
ROM issue.
It is missing the required libraries or system updates to stream Netflix.
VEGAN-Ginger is based off CM7.00. You need CM7.02 or above to stream Netflix.

android youtube app non HD as standard resolution possible?

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if it's possible to make google's official youtube app to play every video in Non-HD mode on my samsung galaxy tab 10.1 (origianal)? Samsung released a crappy ICS update so video playback is horribly laggy especially HD ones, so I want to watch youtube videos in non-HD, but I have to keep pressing the video window, then tap the 'HD' icon and it reloads the video....and it just takes too long.
my tab is rooted, so I am willing to install a modded app IF it's available, but is there any way to set non-HD resolution as default?
Thanks!
