After moving out of the wifi range and back in the range in about several minutes, The saved connection shows disabled after several re-trys. Can be reconnected manualy by tap and re-enable the saved connection.
Do we have a solution to this? I tried to serach on the net but no fix.
u can try blade wifi fix from market. That might do it. Its free.

i have the same problem and installed blade wifi fix but it's still not fix
What about doing a backup and reflashing the ROM? Sometimes rebooting fixes things like this.
Try this method of backing up your data and apps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11394960&postcount=716
Also, there is a 4.4 update. Check it out. Wolf said that he has the camcorder working now. It isn't 720, but better than Illusion. Check it out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945264
Unfortunately this problem still exists in the latest 4.5.7. Bladewififix can't bring the disabled connection back, which was set automatically when the connection is losted. (especially when sleeping for more that 10 minutes, the saved connection shows disabled). Have to manual re-enable the saved connection.

How did you manage to fix this? I have the same problem.
I've installed the Blade WIFI fix app but it doesn't work most of the time even though it says attempting to fix.
same here.
I use the stock 2.1 rom and wifi is ok, FreeX10 Beta 4 and the wifi works and then after a whille becomes disconnected.
I tried Blade Wifi fix, wifi fixer, all from the android market and they all fix it maybe once or twice then wifi disconnects again.
For now, I have added power control widget to the homescreen and disable then enable to get wifi working.
I am using the Wifi to turn off with screen.
Bizzarely I have a ZTE Blade before running 2.2.1 and the wifi always worked flawlessly. Weird.
Wonder if its anything to do with WEP or WPA2?

Exactly the same problem.
I think its a cynanogen mod settings that was set to automatically disconnect or something like that. I can;t seem to find it.
The problem is, wifi is slow and constantly disconnects then you have to connect manually to it, which takes a while. Hopefully it would be fixed in the next update, because going online is just vital for our androids.
Check this
Thanks for the link. My problem isn't connecting to an enterprise network. It does connect but after a few hours will stay disconnected if your using WPA or WPA2. Using WEP (64bit or 128bit) the problem is still there. Only is works a few hours more before disconnecting. The only way to fix it is to disable Wifi and enable it.
Tried ZTE Blade wifi fix and all the others from the market. Same problem.
So definately some issue with the rom/wifi settings.
It's a phone issue.. oddly the x10 hates some routers.. it's is possible that you are having -wifi- clashes at work.
Does it do this only at work?
if yes.. then it's the router at work.
:severe edit
I'm using blade wifi fix.. no issue's what so ever.
wifi works well for my FreeX10 beta4
Well for me its good, but when u leave phone idle, it sadly disconnects to my modem and I have to reconnect, which takes like a minute.
It was fine before I switched to freex10 and its the only issue I found so far with it. I think I saw one of the settings in cyanogen... IM not sure. Help please

I know that X10 doesnt like hidden SSID. I have to create another SSID just for the X10. LOL.

I have to agree - I was having the same issue, the phone would drop out when it went to sleep and then wouldn't wake back up. I installed the blade wifi fix and it seems to bee all good.
New wifi tether 3 beta2 working perfect on EVO 3D now!!!!! With temp root obviously... Just released a few hours ago. Just thought I'd spread the love.
http://code.google.com/p/android-wi...tail?name=wifi_tether_v3_1-beta2.apk&can=2&q= Download: WiFi Tether for Root Users 3.1-beta2 *** BETA ***
Hmm, I couldn't get it to work with temp root.
i had to set it to device profile thunderbolt to get beta2 working.
also have an odd issue with it..when after a reboot & reroot wifi tether doesnt work right away. even starting/stopping multiple times didnt fix it. it starts working later..either after using barnacle for a while or just time passing by. im not sure which one.
Yeah, I had the experimental version working once then never again. This is the same. Worked once but wouldn't load any webpage. Barnacle seems to be the most constant and best so far

faiyo was right
try setting profile to thunderbolt. start wifi tether. it will not connect. stop wifi tether then start/stop barnacle.
finally, start wifi tether n it should work.
Tried it twice...first time worked, lost root. 2nd time...did not work..lost root. Barnacle is dependable, works and no loss of su.
Ive only gotten barnacle to work. I cant get this version to work.
I don't understand why it isn't working for you all. It's working perfect for me. I installed it and using prema-temp root finished 100%. I don't change any of the settings in wireless tether and all is well. I updated the link to make sure you download the right one.
It's working for me. I installed it over beta1 and then wiped data. Tried it at first without changing any settings. The first time it took my laptop a very long time to connect and for a little bit it said limited connectivity, then suddenly it was working. Stopped tethering to change SSID and add encryption and it worked like normal the second time.

If you have to use Barnacle to "patch" Wifi Tether, why not just use Barnacle in the first place?

Hi guys, in this days i have noticed a problem with my gsII.
Sometimes I have the gsII connected to my router but internet connection doesn't work.
I'll try to explain better what i mean... I start wifi on my gsII and use internet connection without problem. Then I set the phone in standby mode leaving wifi on. When after a while i want to use internet connection, it doesn't work. The telephone is still connected to my router but i can't use internet on the phone.
The only way to make internet connection work is to disable wifi e then reactivate it.
This is really frustrating....
I've got the telephone from three months but only now I'm noticing this problem because first I used to disable the wifi and activate it only when i need it.
Am I the only to have this problem? Is there a solution?
Thanks to everyone in advance... any help would be appreciated
A video is more than thousands of words, so this is an "example video" of the bug:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4um-AqLk1jw
Test it with a different router, i.e. Cisco E4200.
It would a good idea but i have to buy a new router or go to some friend's house for 2-3 hours. I'll keep this idea in my mind thanks
I have this problem, mines a bt home hub v3. Don't think its the router I blame the phone. I have to restart phone to make it connect with ability to use internet

I do not know what " standby mode" is? I have the same phone and have no problems with wifi. The phone goes to sleep when I do not use it and awakes when I use it.
It seems that your phones wifi is sleeping and not waking up. I always turn it off when not using it anyway. Not the full answer but it works for me.

I believe I know and had the problem you describe.
For me the Wifi would work perfectly at first and then after the phone had been left for a while I would try to use it and get 'no connection' type errors. Sometimes it would even stop working even if I just waited too long with the phone still on in my hand.
I found that if I either disabled router wifi security or set it to WEP the problem disappeared. The issue occurred on 2.3.3. My router is a DLink one fyi. I have yet to test 2.3.4 which came out yesterday in Sweden. Ill let u know.

If you turn wifi off when you don't use it, you'll never see this bug. Try to leave wifi on for some hours if you want to understand if also your gsII has this bug.

I tried changing the channel also. I have heard others getting this to work. Didn't work for me. You can use Wifi Analyser app on phone to find a clear channel and see how u go changing your router perhaps?
I tried re flashing also using factory restore. No fix for me.
Also noticed that u can sometimes get phone to work by toggling Network Data on/off. Not really fun either.
The wifi channels and security settings I am talking about are settings in the router not the phone. What wifi security are you using in your router?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I am not a believer the router is at fault in any case. I would entertain an incompatibility but nothing more.
Original router and security settings work fine for...wait for it...an iphone 3gs and a Motorola Defy (yes the phone which seems to have issues with doing everything else!)
Either way an incompatibility is not acceptable either if that's what it is

I know this, and in fact i have to switch off and on wifi connection when this happens.
Now i'm trying to use channel 5 with the router ( but yesterday I've tested channel 6 and 13 without any result)
I hate this bug because beacause it happens only when he wants! I'm quite sure that assistance wouldn't solve the problem. A friend of mine has changed three gsII and said that every gsII that he has changed had this bug!
Ps: Another question.... How often do you have this bug?
Once a week? Once a day? Three times a day?

Is NOT the phone.
i have the same problem reported in the 1st post.
i have been turning wifi off and then on again for a quick fix until now but i think the solution might be to drop the security on the router from WPA to WEP. Haven't tried it yet tho, because it doesn't bother me that much.
I had an ipad previously (before i had the SGS2) and it had exactly the same behaviour. I looked up the problem then and found a FAQ from the ISP that mentioned a compatibility problem between ipad and that router, so their suggestion was to set the router to WEP only.

Easily more than 3 times a day but then I use the phone a lot.
Problem had never occurred when I used only 3G. That was my workaround when I got fed up with it before I dropped the wifi security.

For me it happens always after the phone comes back from stand by with wifi on.
steps to reproduce:
1-turn wifi on, and check it's connected and working
2-press power button to turn off screen
3-turn phone back on, try to access a new web page, it doesn't work
I noticed that while it's in stand by i will still receive email notifications so it probably only looses the connection when i turn it on again.
Also, if there was some program working (say, a download) when i went into standby it will probably still be transferring when it comes out of stand by, it's just the new connections that fail.
This happens on sense roms usually. Latest cm7 don't have this problem but latest aosp roms do. I thought it was the kernel so I flashed like 10 different kernels but no joy so far.
What happens is: I connect to my router, surf the web etc. Leave the phone for 3 minutes, unlock it, then I see the wifi connected icon on the status bar. I open the... say gtalk, it can't log in. then the icon disappears and the phone reconnects to the interwebs.
What I've done so far is;
-Flashed every single kernel
-Played with router settings. (static ip, 802.11b/g, wpa2, deleted/added phone)
-wifi sleep policy to "never"
The phone in question is "htc wildfire". Using cm7 is not an option as surfing the web is soooo slow with cm7. (it takes 10 seconds to open google.com with cm7, 3 seconds with a sense rom)
So, what could be the problem?
Cheers guys.
It's your phone's wifi driver. It's said that even if you set your device's wifi to never sleep, the driver still becomes inactive after a while of no use.
Is there anything that i can do to solve this problem? Or just live with it?

If you want that rom, then I guess you'll have to just live with it (but just remember that you could switch to CyanogenMod and be on your way). This used to happen to me but I switched to CyanogenMod and I no longer have that problem.
Installed wifi fixer app and it works now...
The app itself keeps wifi connection busy by pinging a random ip i guess.
