Just splitting this out from the Padfone X root thread. Thanks to the two users I quote below. Towelroot 1 does work, just did it on my own device =)
Most recent link (on that thread, which I downloaded) to towelrootv1 is here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/mad-catz-mojo/development/root-mojo-towelroot-one-click-t2799712

Unroot (not complete) just by deleting the su file. No reason to do that though. OTA update still works after root.

WW_12.2.2.21 Root
I have updated to Version WW_12.2.2.21 (Android 5.0) and towelroot v1 doesn't work anymore. Just wanted to say, Kingroot worked for me.

Thanks for the report. I haven't bothered to update yet, so this will come in useful.

I have written a guide to Restoring Stock ROM, Recovery, Unbrick, and Rooting 5.0 on Padfone S.

Padfone X rooting
AdamOutler said:
It's not as locked down as you might think. It just doesn't allow fastboot flashing.. That's fine, Exploit+terminal access works. Get the instructions for TWRP here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2790542

It says: "This phone isn't currently supported" when I'm attempting to use Towelroot. Am I doing something wrong?
How do you reset the binary counter on the Padfone X?
I have to send my phone in and want to un-root first and reset the counter. Triangle away doesn't support the Padfone.
Any suggestions?

karbonn a19
i hav rooted karbonn a19 but the andriod version was 4.2 but i officially updated ma mobile and andriod version upgraded to 4.4.2 now its not rooting wat to do
Try framaroot
Original thread:
forum.xda-developers.com/apps/framaroot/root-framaroot-one-click-apk-to-root-t2130276
All the instructions needed to use the app are present in the OP but still, basically you just need to download framaroot and install the app on your phone, then select any of the available exploit (If you're confused on which one to use, try all of them one by one until you see the success message) and hopefully you'd have yourself a rooted phone
It has worked for me every single time I've tried it.
Don't forget to thank the app developer and donate (if you can ^-^ ).
kabonn a19
it will work only on 4,2 but its nt possible in 4.4.2
You mean framaroot didn't work on 4.4.2 but it worked on 4.2, is it?
Well if that's the case then you might find something useful in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257421
Go to the second post of the thread and check out it's point number 2, it consists links to a lot of rooting methods.

I have a vzw lg g3 running Android 5.0.1 kernel 3.4.0 software ver vs98524b. I have tried all the one click root systems for the lg devices and nothing will work. Super user installer never runs in download mode and just stays at 0%. Phone also isn't letting me downgrade back to a earlier build using lg flashtool. This is seriously driving me crazy. Can somebody please help me out here.

Not sure if youve tried this or not yet but I just rooted, unrooted, and rerooted 2 weeks ago with it. Worked like a charm for me.

Thanks. I have tried but framaroot also didn't do anything for me. Maybe it's because of my firmware which is E43010d-EUR-XX. I read that it doesn't work with all firmwares.
doubt,,
