I have rooted with towelroot and installed supersu.
After a while I did a full unroot with supersu and uninstalled both. Then an official security update came and it installed just fine but now I get a 0x1111004 error (this device is suspected in rooting) when I try to install L.
I am a complete noob, so could you please point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
you need to flash 4.4 kdz then ota or straight to 5.0.2 kdz
because lg root security detected that you had root

And I need to flash my exact version, right? Is this guide still good? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45293512&postcount=1
yeah
but use kdz for g2m not g2
https://twitter.com/lg_firmware?lang=pl - search for the one that suits you (ofc d620r model)

Thanks a lot for replying. I just did it with no issues. Just one more question. In case I want to revert back to 4.4 do I simply flash the previous version or are there factors to consider?

You can, but you have choose "CSE Flash" instead of "Normal Flash"
Tired of seeing the new update notification. Looking at upgrading my phone. Unfortunately, I don't install ROMs all the time, so I tend to forget the steps / applications needed to upgrade. I'm rooted, and bootloader is unlocked.
Can anyone help?

So there are now two newer versions out there, the latest only has an OTA no kdz, and if you flash it as is you will loose root
I suggest wait until there is a method to keep root and flash the latest, which I'm sure will be soon

Last time I tried updating to the "j" version, LG Up wouldn't recognize my phone.

L is the latest, if you want to flash j right now feel free
There are two Roms by eliminater74 and one by andy_zahng
For any of these choice you do not need LGup, so long as you are previously rooted
Just flash firmware (part one) via TWRP
Then flash any of those three Roms via TWRP
Reboot,
You will have j rooted
But being i tend to recommend a full wipe i would say wait until the latest L is out in a flashable .zip, should be soon

Thank you. I'm rooted and using stock ROM right now. What ROM do you use?
1. Get root and TWRP (LGOneClickRootRecovery) ---> https://www.dropbox.com/s/2shvozzbu29xjfu/LGG2-D802-OneClickRootRecoveryV1.1.zip?dl=0
2. Go to TWRP and update TWRP by flashing zip file ---> http://www.gregtwallace.com/lgg2-projects/twrp/?version=3.1.0-1
3. Go to TWRP and wipe everything except internal storage
4. Flash LineageOS 14.1 & Gapps ----> https://download.lineageos.org/d802 & http://opengapps.org/
5. Reboot system
Edit: i tested it only on my lg d802 so u have to look for files for your device
Edit: backup your data before
Thanks, I bought a used G2 today and these links were very useful to me.

stock recovery mean doesn't flash Twrp or CWM anyway you can download KDZ (rom LP ) and flash it by LG up or LG flash tool
Thanks, this is really great and i'll use soon... The only thing i think that isn't there its and advice from backup of EFS partition at least the first time (for noobs)

Hello ! You have to flash D802 version and D806 modem because if you dont do that you will have loss of total signal when its 4G and you have to reboot (my experience)... And LineageOS have random reboots with F2FS... Thats all i think
Well, for some unknown reason OneClickRecovery didn't do it's job properly and when I rebooted to go into recovery it actually did a factory reset and I lost all my valuable data. Worked second time but I'm so fcked now.

do you still need help?
Does your bootloader status matter when doing this or is it somehow solved by the tool? Also, can you flash Resurrection Remix (Nougat) using the same method?
Hi !
I'm from france, and I've just received an old LG G2 D802 on Android 5.0.2.
The previous owner of the phone told me that it was rooted, but the application "root checker" says the contrary.
In order to be sure, do I need to do a reset, or can I just simply start this procedure ?
Also, does the TWRP update is mandatory, because the last version of TWRP recovery on their website is 2.8.7.0, it is not sufficient ?
Thanks !

Hello! Anyone running the US variant of the Mate 10 PRO could provide me with a link to the original stock recovery? Trying to update to the latest OTA but I need the original stock to do so unless someone know how to update while using TWRP? Thank you in advance!
Bump, looking for stock recoveries for the US variant as well. I'm currently running TWRP and rooted with Magisk, but I'm afraid that I won't be able to install OTAs with TWRP.
I've got a us variant and haven't done anything with it. How do you extract the stock recovery? Using ADB? I've never rooted or unlocked a Huawei but have other devices so I have an idea how it works. If you tell me how, I'll try and upload it for you.
I don't know either lol. I've tried using 'Huawei Update Extractor' to extract the recovery from firmwares of other regions but it keeps on giving me error in reading the file.

I actually managed to get a stock recovery that worked. I was on the February security patch and the OTA for March came out and obviously TWRP didn't flash it. In that same TWRP thread there's a stock recovery_ramdisk (page 6) for a different region device that flashed and worked perfectly for my device. I took the OTA then reflashed TWRP and Flashed Magisk. Looks like that's the process I have to do every time there's an OTA

Hello All
I would really appreciate the help on my situation.
I have bought a new motherboard from aliexpress. and it turns out the board is a VS990 with H901 5.1 installed on it.
Its working like a charm now I received the OTA update to android 6 but I am very scared to go ahead with the update as it will most probably brick the phone. Has anyone experienced same situation? Do i go ahead and let it do the OTA update? If not is there anyway I can install Nugget on my (Half / Half) setup ?
I will very much appreciate the help please.
Thanks

My motherboard also had vs990 printed on it but the "t" link is soldered. So my v10 is a h901, which makes sense since I bought mine from my local T-Mobile store right after release.
If you plan on rooting do not take the ota. It is much easier to root on 5.1 (10c), the fastboot commands are still intact. All updates after 5.1 get more difficult to root. Once rooted there is twrp flashable .zip in the development forum to safely bring you to the latest 7.0 update (30c) and is also a full firmware update.

Did you take apart your phone and verify your soldered link?
Do you have twrp 3.2.1 installed?
All the info you need can be found https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/development
Reading about anything you plan to do will help prevent a brick.
To install twrp
'fasboot flash recovery <twrp.img>' (extract .img from .zip) https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850501883
Linked from https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/development/twrp-3-2-1-h901-t3765971
'reboot recovery'
From twrp flash this .zip (firmware)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz7RQirmMu9MZHNSc3hjRTF3X0U
Linked from
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/development/h901-t-mobile-nougat-v30b-twrp-t3639203
Then flash this .zip (30c update)

Linked from
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm.../h901-t-mobile-nougat-v30c-flashable-t3744648
Then flash magisk 16.0 (current stable version) for root. Done.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
Read all threads I linked, some parts of them are old and have been superseded but will still provide valuable info that should prevent a brick.

That is great.. I will read them all very carefully and I will try to do it tommorrow.
2 points :
First I have already installed TWRP recovery for LG V10 H901 (File: twrp-2.8.7.1-h901.img & SuperSU v2.56 and now i am rooted.
Second I am sure now even without looking at the Link that my board is a H901 else I think the boot loader would have never been simply unlocked. Dont you agree?

SuperSU is abandoned. TWRP 2.8.7.1 can't flash nougat, you'll need to upgrade to the 3.2.1 I linked but will only have to flash the .zip from TWRP. SuperSU will get removed when you flash the system updates so then you should have no problem installing magisk, just do a factory reset in TWRP after you do the updates before magisk to remove and data from SuperSU that my be left.
Your 2nd point is dead on, the h901 is the only US carrier branded v10 that can be bootloader unlocked. True vs990's were locked down tight in true Verizon fashion.

That's the point of these twrp flashable updates, to update without wipeing . For the Android 6.0 updates use the part 1 (firmware) and part 2 (system, boot) 20L files in this thread.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/development/rom-v10h901v20estock-customized-t3360240
It is still heavily suggested to wipe when changing major Android versions. Minor updates within the same version don't cause too much trouble, but data structure varies between major version updates. All this being said some people don't have problems with dirty (no wipe) flashes.

Flashed part 1 with TWRP and did not reboot. Then flashed Part 2.. Then rebooted.. Now my phone doesnt even turn on.
This must be a hard brick.. I cant even go into TWRP any more .. and no logo appears.. the phone is detected on PC as QSUSB_BULK

There are a few threads that discuss recovering from bricked 20J software that you could try.
