Hi all been having problems with WiFi on AOKP/cm10.1 ROMs for the last few weeks when I try to connect I get authenticating IP loop then avoided poor connection even though my WiFi connection shows full bars the solution was to go into the router settings and change the connection to n only instead of auto b/g/n also weird as it sounds my wife has a s3 running the same ROMs and she never had the problem anyway hope this help someone

OK Ive got a strange problem with one of my Galaxy S3's!
It will not connect to some WIFI connections! It will say 'Obtaining IP address' then 'Failed to obtain IP address' and then loops itself doing the same thing over and over...?
I have two S3's and my other rooted device is fine. The one that has the problem is running a standard O2 4.3 rom (Un-rooted)
My rooted phone is also running 4.3.
Anyone experienced a similar problem? I have had this problem with 4 or 5 WIFI connections now, including my home one which is rather annoying! I have tried the obvious and rebooted my router, which hasn't helped!
Any advice welcomed!

I've had issues with the quality of my internet connection being checked, and then the connection being killed due to "slow internet connection", even on strong Wifi networks. Solution turned out to be to uncheck the automatic network switch in the advanced Wifi settings.

Thanks but that doesn't affect me. It just wont connect full stop

How so, when I have an identical phone sat right next to it with the same version of Android and that phone connects perfectly?
The only difference is one phone is rooted, the other is not (Both running 4.3, just different kernal number and build number)
Well wifi is a function of the kernel .
Ever since I got my refurbished AT&T HTC One M8 I have been having frequent WiFi drops.
The issue happens on any of my two wireless routers at home and happens when I dont use my phone for a while,
it will drop the WiFi and show an exclamation mark besides the WiFi icon. I then need to switch the WiFi off and on again
for it to work. Wierdly enough, the issue never happens while I am at work.
I have tried several Roms (KitKat and Lollipop), including the stock rom for my device and I have also tried
to flash a lot of firmware versions (currently running the most recent one and Lollipop). The issue has never gone away.
I have also tried to switch my router from b/g/n to g only or n only, I have changed channels, configured static IPs and DNSes
on my phone, I have tried changing the password and WPA2/WPA/WEP.
Is there a way I could try to troubleshoot the issue, like some system log which would show an error? Or has anyone else
had this kind of issue?

I have searched but unable to find something similar to my issue.
I have a Asus ZenFone 3 Laser - ZC551KL.
Background:
Have had the phone for about a year but haven't gotten around to transferring SMS etc from current phone so it is currently only used as a tablet / watching YouTube etc. So not used massively.
On Thursday/Friday I came home and was unable to connect to my WiFi. When I restarted device I could connect but noticed Poor Signal and slow internet. It was now I noticed that none of our neighbouring wifi was showing.
I tried:
Restarting routers and phone.
Reset network settings
Safe Mode
My wife has the same phone and able to see all the normal networks. It doesn't seem to be an issue with speed once connected but I now need to be within about 5 meters of the router to connect.
I am curious if anyone else has had this or a similar issue / how they fixed it?
If people think think it might be a hardware or software error?

I need help for my note 10s. I just got the phone and I noticed that when I on the hotspot it's not visible to other devices and when I on the phone WiFi it connects and disconnects after few seconds/minutes. I don't know if it's because I updated to the latest update notification that I got. Any possible solution?
