Can you post the Unova+ app here?
Never mind. Found it on Play Store.

Can you please post it somewhere where not EZDownloaderPro infects the download?
It takes ages to clean, I consider that a virus...
For the documentation:
Is the upgrade working when going directly from 4.2?
I have always had to Upgrade in SPFT.
Good if it is working using SPFT to only flash TWRP.
Have you noticed any changes in the ROM compared to the package kuronosan put together?
(You have done some changes to.)
I tried the Ironman ROM but did not see anything really.

I'll see if can upload somewhere else when I have time.
If any user wants to go before I can do that easily. thank him
You no longer need to use SPFT, you just flash my Rom. (Contains everything you need for a Firmware Upgrade) Council from stock 4.2 to get everything sorted but not strictly necessary. Can flash any version of departure.
I do not know which changes from the previous Unova Firmware because I come from the firmware Zgpax s8 modified by me.
Greetings

Hello
First of all, thanks you for your hard work.
I'd like to update my Truesmart 4.2 (512MB 2100MHZ) to 4.4 using your firmware. I'm quite ashamed to say it, but can you give me a step by step instructions please?
Not like I didn't try to search, but I find it quite hard. I don't know how to install TWRP. My unit is not rooted.
Can you confirm the step that I'm going to take ?
1) downloading openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.0-omatesmartwatch2.img
2) Flashing my omate with this image thanks to MTK Flash Tool
3) Following your instructions
=> Concerning the 'Install Zip', do you mean 'ZipInstaller 5.0.3' ?
Between, I don't have window at all, I'm only using linux on my computer. I got a virtual console with windows, but the com and ADP port are not working there, if you have a solution to install TWRP not to using MTK Flash Tool (or windows), I'd be glad.
Thanks you for your advices !

I proceeded to further clarify the installation instructions.
As for the installation of the Recovery google is your friend. Will surely find a way to install the recovery using Linux terminal

Does this method stop 2G EDGE and make the signal appear?

Does not work for me on my north american model. I only get the boot logo forever.

Works fine with my 1/8 May EU edition.
(still kind of testing, not noting much difference to the x202 ROM. I do not like HomeSwipe, that is a personal preference...)

Well thank you for your feedback. I can only guarantee the version 512 / 4GB because in my possession, and I have personally tested. I do not know if the system partition and the kernel are the same. Now we know it.
Regarding the Home button could make a fix

Great ROM.
The Home button action can be overridden with Xposed Addtions module. It's good enough for me.
I wrote a small Xposed module to permanently enable the status bar in Nova Launcher (and most other launchers):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/truesmart-status-bar-custom-launchers-t3063624
The module is only tested with your ROM. It might not work if GravityBox is enabled as well, I'm investigating that issue.
If you don't want to install Xposed I can provide recovery flashable zip's for enabling the status bar in either all apps or a specific launcher.

Help! my x201 is blocked on the logo UNOVA
Hello
I was on last firmware inconbit Callisto 100 and I tried to install "X201-KK-V1.1.zip" but I probably failed installing last TWRP. My watch is fixed on logo UNOVA and is not recognized on usb neither with SPFlash tool or MtkDroïd tools. The TWRP recovery dont see my Sdcard where I have my backup (Titanium). What can I do to awake my watch UMEOX x201 512/4 2100EU ?
Thanks a lot for helping me!

Hello,
What do i have to do with my omate truesmart after have change the file system\usr\keylayout\mtk-kpd.kl to the changes take effect?
I want key 102 to home button, like it is by default on the watch in the origin and every other roms.
I have already save and overwrite the file after changes, and then reboot omate, but still not working.
Thank you

My felicitations for your great job on this rom, and i have a question
First of all, i want to give you all my felicitations for your work and your rom unova kk for omate truesmart, it is very stable, fast, and battery saver compared to a lot of other roms.
I have European Model 2100 mhz of omate truesmart with 1 gb ram and 8 bg rom.
The only problem that i have with your rom is that i don't want that the home button put volume up, and i want it to go home like default.
How can i do to change it?
I already go to system\usr\keylayout\mtk-kpd.kl and changed the button 102 to HOME instead of VOLUME_UP and write WAKE_DROPPED instead of WAKE.
Also i reput the button 115 to VOLUME_UP instead of HOME and then i save and overwrite the file with es text editor in es explorer in root mode with supersu, and then i reboot the watch, but this still not working.
How do you have make to change the home button to volume_up?
Tell me please, so i can do it in the inverse way, and i'm sure this will work.
Thank very much for your work, you are a great dev

Ok i uploaded fix in attached files in the first post .
You may notice the difference by opening the file

Really very good rom, I installed it on TS 1gb/8gb 2100Mhz (I changed the baseband from original 1900Mhz). But with this rom I have some problem, in recovery TWRP I can't use my external SD card (twrp presents empty external_sd). With other variants of roms I didn't have this problem. If someone knows how to fix it?

Baseband
Any way you could post directions for baseband change? I have 2100 and live in US where 1900 mhz is needed for 3g data?
Thanks

[GUIDE][ANDROID 4.4] Kitkat on Omate Truesmart and its Variants (MT6572 Smartwatches)

* I DON'T RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR WATCH, YOUR DAILY LIFE, OR ANYTHING AFFECTED BY METHOD ON THIS THREAD
Okay, I want to tell you step by step installing Kitkat on our device
This method is tested on Iconbit Callisto 100 (rik81), Z15 clone (By Me) and Podor PW306 (Blufires)
1. using ZGPAX S8 Firmware, credit to rik81
Callisto 100 Flash Android 4.4 from Zgpax S8 Rom
Instructions - Follow these steps:
download here
1. Extract the folder "zgpax s8 new firmware.rar"
2. Delete the following files:
- lk.bin
- MT6572_Android_scatter.txt
- preloader_s8.bin
3. replace these files with those of your stock rom
4. flash with SP Flash Tool - mode Firmware Upgrade
2. Using UNOVA IRONMAN Firmware, By Me
Steps: download the firmware from this ( credit to kuronosan )
extract it, then rename factory_NONmodified_recovery.img to recovery.img
then use scatter in the attachment, do firmware upgrade
after finished, enter recovery then do factory reset
EDIT : this rom doesn't have full functionality of TWRP, you can't mount external sdcard
GOOD THINGS :
-FULLY WORKED BT Tethering
-Full AGPS and BLE Support
KNOWN ISSUES : SENSORS DIDN'T WORK in both firmwares, most likely never can be fixed. this based on kernel and both kernel and libs with working sensor in x201 are in JellyBean, can't be used in KitKat by changing files, must be on source
Google Apps (Play Store, etc) here, SuperSU (Root Access) here (put these on internal sdcard for flashing with TWRP)
Fix for Home button change into volume up in ZGPAX S8 firmware(Attachment, flash with TWRP)
For Custom Recovery (TWRP) you may use this (Credit to kuronosan )
FOR NOW WAITING ANY MT6572 smartwatch w/ SIM support using LOLLYPOP and figure method to cross-flashing it :good:
Sensors don't work? Looks like I'll be fixing that too.
What unit did you test this on?
for now no one has tried it on Omate truesmart
Callisto 100 for me
Z15 (clone truesmart) for (Maszter93)
Podoor pw306 for (Blufires)
I just got the root :good:

rik81 already answer it, btw i think it's better to optimize the recovery first, the only problem is mounting sdcard
well this is huge leap for Truesmart development
EDIT : Since UNOVA IRONMAN firmware can't get TWRP fully working and rather outdated, I using ZGPAX S8 for now
I already have it working. Should have realized I needed to use upgrade instead of download.
I found problems with the Chainfire Root . Show folders sdcard0 sdcard1 empty and folder permissions xbin not appropriate that I could not change.
I had to repeat the Root with the tool attachment
now everything runs fine

Note that the UNOVA IRONMAN ROM your are using has issues in my UNOVA IRONMAN (GPS not working and mobile with problems, I have not tested all the other things). This may explain why you are having issues with the sensors. We need to try with a newer ROM. As I said in another post, my IRONMAN was shipped with a ROM compiled in November 2014, but I do not have it anymore.
Anyone with a new IronMan that can upload the ROM?
So I don't have an lk.bin or preloader_s8.bin from my MTKDroidTools backups. I have "preloader_and_dsp" though.
Am I missing something simple here? It's been a while since I've played with this. I do have an lk.bin in "!Files_to_FlashTool" folder from an old backup.

Nevermind. Got past that now. I hadn't run the second process to create them with MTKDroidTools
I'm was getting an error about encryption being interrupted before I did a factory reset via the stock recovery. I presume that's somewhat expected?
Also I don't follow why we're doing two separate flashes when the second one most overwrites everything the first one did. I haven't compared the two scatters exactly but I take it there's only a few things from the first flash that are actually required?
And yes it works for my TS which I received about March 2014 if that helps you at all kuronosan.
They're two different ROMs.
Both are working on my Omate TS pre May.
For me, ZGPAX S8 looks better and is rooted, google play store is preinstalled.
But the home button is for loudness.
I have installed Swipe Home Button.
@rik81
Thank you very much.

Can Xposed Additions be used?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2714281
Just for my peace of mind...
The watches this ROM came from are made by UMEOX or licensed by. Hardware is almost the same, but for some reason unknown to men those devices got a upgrade/ were build to support KK. Who programmed the firmware? How come that KK is magically showing up? And how come there's no new/clean build for the TS from LLP or Umeox? Did they paid more to Qualcomm? I just want to know some background.
This is a build developed by Umeox for UNOVA (x202). The main sensors use different modules, when is why they don't work. Laurent is hesitant to release a build for the 1st gen because it isn't optimized.
I'm not. Establish 1st. Tweak later.

He was happy to release the original 4.2.2 ROM with shonky bluetooth. I think everybody who bought a truesmart would prefer functional bluetooth over accel/compass/gyro on a device with no 3.5mm port. Especially applies to those who use it as a companion device.
SP Flash version
I'm intending to flash the ZGPAX S8 Firmware version.
But I noticed that the SP Flash Tools version that was included is 3.1332.0.187
Is there a specific reason that the more recent version 5.1352.01 is not used? (http://androidxda.com/smart-phone-flash-tool)

z7 mini Android L by cuoco92 (partialy multilang)

Hi all,
as you may know Nubia released a beta Android 5 version for the Z7Mini a few days ago.
cuoco92 already did his modification to this rom
his tutorial how to flash (because it is not CWM available) is here : https://www.dropbox.com/s/k17nv61auw3mig5/Guida_by_BB72_Android_L_Z7Mini-EN.pdf?dl=0
the rom is here :
https://yadi.sk/d/Kv5pd9RXfbhYU
the flashing tool for windows is here :
https://yadi.sk/d/sDX760x8faeFb
I didn't tried this rom, as the download speed from yadi.sk is almost as slow as chinese site :/
but if someone would be nice to provide a mirror I would be glad to test it
ps: as far as i understood, the Nubia Android 5 does a repartitionning, so BACKUP all data somewhere safe (sd card for ex) because it may be possible that ALL data get lost

It is true, all data WILL be lost. It is also strongly recommended that after you back up to your sd card (or computer) that you remove your sd card and sim card before doing the update. There have been some instances of people on the Chinese bbs that did not remove them and both sd card and sim got corrupted and needed to be replaced.
I managed to create an account on this russian service and now the speed was no more slow..
I tried to follow the tutorial, but unfortunately, the stupid chinese windows tool does not turn green
i have adb and fastboot working on windows
i have some adb drivers installed (i first through it is comming from there, so i installed other adb drivers but no result at all)
I also installed a 1.82 rom (found on needrom, it is 1.8 without some chinese apps and prerooted) first, but this also didn't change anything
so my two last guesses :
1: i need to install a stock 1.82 rom ... need to find a link :/
2: need to install stock recovery ? but this is marked as optional so ... don't know why i should do this
EDIT: ok i needed a stock rom and to install the adb driver that is on it virtual CD (the one that appears the first time you put the phone on usb )
Can you please reupload this rom to some more reasonable site? Waiting 27 hours is too long and its impossible for me to regiter there, I tried....
sorry can't upload this right now (it would be nearly 1 GB file to include all stuff (cuoco92 700Mb rom, + TWRP as the preinstalled version was not preinstalled on my mobile, + setup tool + pdf document)
i was not able to register on yandex website, but with the mobile app there where no russian caracters or errors ...

I've been using Cuoco's rom now for well over a week without issues? Perhaps it was a bad install & you may need to reinstall is all I can suggest? I first installed the Nubia stock rom & then Cuoco's. Not sure if this made a difference however all has been good. Overall I'm quite impressed, not really any noticeable bugs (for me) & his mod's have tidied up a few things

I used that rom from Needrom (Pre-rooted 1.82. It was stock with bloatware removed only) as I was on CM12 & I was able to then install the Nubia Lollipop over the top. I think it was more to do with having the correct drivers installed & a version of 1.82. The recovery didn't matter as I still had TWRP before the update. I then installed Cuoco's over the top of that without any issues.

Today I've managed to root my p1m and install TWRP, after trying a lot of guides and tips!
I'll tell you what I did. I guess it should work fine to you too!
The key thing to do is to install vcom usb drivers. Without these drivers, flash tool won't work!
Follow the steps from this guide: h t t p : / / thetechnolyte.blogspot.gr/2014/04/installing-vcom-drivers-in-windows-81. h t m l
After you do this, donwload sp flash tool, download a recovery.img for p1m (just google it) and you're ready to go.
You have to download also supersu.zip (google it) and place it in your external sdcard (if you don't have external sd, use your internal space).
So, after you install the vcom driver following EXACTLY the steps from the link (especially the step to disable driver signature verification), open flash tool.
There, you have to load the scatter file txt that is included in the files (MT6735M_Android_scatter.txt) and the recovery.img you downloaded for p1m (don't use the one included, don't know if it's working, maybe yes, maybe not, I didn't have the chance to use it, I placed the recovery.img for p1m that I found in google search, I propose to do the same!)
Next thing is to check (if it isn't already checked) the recovery tickbox from the list down below and you should also check if the drop down menu says "download all". Then you hit green download button and connect your phone to pc.
After you connect your phone to pc, hold power button and choose reboot from the popup menu.
During reboot process the flash tool will start sending recovery to your phone and a red progress bar will start moving in flash tool window. When it's done, a big green tick image will appear on screen and the custom recovery is been placed succesfully!
Next thing you have to do, is to enter recovery menu holding power button+vol up (maybe vol down, I don't remember, try both cases) and a 3 choice message will appear. Choose recovery and hit vol up for OK. Then you have to navigate to "install from sdcard" and choose the superuser.zip for installation.
After you install it, chooce normal reboot and you're all done!!!
Hope I helped. Give me some feedback when you try it and if you have any questions about the process, let me know.

Probably you haven't loaded the recovery.img for p1m. You have to double click in the recovery line (the one already ticked) and a popup for file selection will be shown. Select the img file and proceed.
Thanks Bro.....

There are already 3 custom rom choices.
1. Modified lenovo stock ROM
It's basically the same stock vibeui ROM but with the bloatware removed. Also some tweaks for system speed and some extra features in settings. Everything works as it should.
2. AOSP 5.1 custom ROM
Nearly stock lollipop android 5.1. Way better experience than stock lenovo rom, better task manager (works better), no bloatware, pre-rooted. Every hardware part works except notification led.
3. Flyme OS 4.5.3.1 custom ROM
My personal favorite so far. It's basically the ROM Meizu uses in her phones. Way better and different android experience. Different settings menu, notification panel and task manager. Similar to iOS.
Very stable ROM. Some integrated meizu features don't work it's not something to worry about. The only bad thing is that fm radio doesn't work (it's not even exist as an app, and no 3rd party fm radio app works as well), notification led doesn't work (minor issue for me), front camera only works with 3rd party app (like google camera).
I currently am in flyme os and I feel really cool using it. You can find these roms if you google them. From techolaty.
For more convinience, you can backup the whole system through recovery backup function, so you can later restore any rom you like (with your settings and apps, etc).
XDA isn't a request site. If developers choose to work on a device they will. But usually they need to own the device and these obscure less popular devices can be hard to find anything for.
Best to learn how to port roms yourself if you want them.

Into the blog it´s a tutorial.
This for install a TWRP: http://revolutionlemax2.blogspot.com.es/search?updated-max=2016-05-29T03:11:00-07:00&max-results=7
And this to download TWRP for EUI 5.8: http://revolutionlemax2.blogspot.com.es/2016/07/twrp-302-para-nueva-stock-rom-eui-5815s.html
the site is in spanish unfortunately, I can use google to translate, but do I need to root the device first, then put twrp, then flash?
Hi xterminater07,
As for any other ROM, you have to install a custom recovery as a first thing. There are usually 2 custom recoveries : TWRP and CWM. The x820 only has TWRP (as far as I know of course). So you have to "flash" TWRP before you can install your ROM.
Be cautious : some of the TWRP provided in the links may give you a weird result
Just take the one in the link from the OP and flash it... it should work I guess.
Then reboot into recovery (hold power and volume up while rebooting).
Once rebooted, just follow the on-screen options to install.
Regards.

thank you for the respond nexuspenguin, so flashing the twrp as mentioned would root the device as well? I have delt with prior android devices and you have to do a one click root, then put twrp. I didn't see a root method mentioned by the OP that's why I want to know what is the right steps to do lol...
Hi,
Nope : install TWRP first, root afterwards.
If you install a pre-rooted ROM no need to root.
If not, rooting is quite simple : download latest supersu.zip, transfer it to your phones storage, reboot into recovery (TWRP now !) flash the downloaded .zip... and reboot. You're done
Why use "all-in-one" programs when it's so easy to do it manually ?
Regards.
FRED
P.S. : I flashed the TeamSPAIN 15S that is also given as 100% rooted. But I found out it is not. So, despite what's advertised you may have to install SuperSU again.
Theres two version of teamspain, which one is the "best" and closest to the stock one as possible without any bugs? Also both seems to say spanish focused but english language should be no issue right?

Hi,
I would advise the other version as this one will leave some bloatware from LeTV... unless, of course, you want it
Without any bugs ? You are aware that there's no such thing as a bugfree system, are you
Kidding apart, I am using the other version and I found no bugs after 1 and 1/2 days of use.
Be advised that there's also a third version from Cuoco92 that isn't advertised here (yet) but that you can download on AFH.
All three are very close to stock.
And I must say that I find the EUI quite nice to use even though not as snappy as other ROM's that are much closer to AOSP.
Regards.
nexuspenguin, I did see the cuoco92 latest version on afh. Is that version similar to this and what are the differences? Also can you write the steps on how to put twrp and supersu for this phone in english? I don't want to translate by machine to english and screw up my phone somewhere :\

installing 15S Pure will have English option ? will continue to get OTA Updates from LeEco ?
10x
Gil
I just flashed this rom over my stock rom but I seem to lose the System Update app icon on the home screen and can't find it anywhere. Can you show me how to put it back steve_mars or how to update from OTA without that app?
All Custom ROM are modified and OTA can´t work.
And if you rooted phone and/or install TWRP, OTA don´t work either.
Oh so we will just have to wait for someone to put a rooted image of the OTA files or the next version then?
Hello All, I have a problem. I just flash this rom on my x820 but i goot a bootloop after the install all is ok but the phone always reboot maybe someone can help me ?
I have the same problem. I use fastboot and command "fastboot -w" and after that boot normally.
I have the same problem. @rzapsko , you did thar after the install?!
After the bootloop, you juat connected in fastboot mode as run that line to erase data?!
Thank you.
Hello, thank for the answer but can you describe all the procedure? you mean that after running the install and all done you have to open cmd and run fastboot command ?
(sorry for my english) Instal adb drivers. Unzip TWRP from link. Run command line (cmd) and go to this folder. You can use command "CD.." and "CD <folder name>" to change folder. Turn on phone to fastboot mode (power and vol-). Connect to PC. Write in cmd fasboot -w.

SamFail presents...
PartCyborgActiveRom
ARA1
A Rooted Custom Rom
For SM-G892A/U on V1 and V2 Bootloaders
FAQ
What is my Bootloader Revision?
Your bootloader revision is part of the baseband build number of the firmware you are currently running. For example, let's consider this firmware version: G892ASQS2BQL1
Start from the right and count 5 characters back. See that 2? That is the bootloader revision for the firmware that came with this rom. All Samsung firmware follow this formula for all devices.
Using this formula, What is the bootloader version for G892UEU4GHK1?
Answer: Bootloader revision is 4
Updates
Please see below for a a new update to both the V1 and V2 releases.
It is a new BL "part 2" tarball that contains a fix for the issues reported by
many of you with the finger print and other various sensors. It has replaced
the original firmware Part2 link in the following post .
Featured Modifications
Deodexed
Deodexed for all devices.
I found a way that works!
It should continue working as long
as we care about nougat
Xposed Preinstalled
Forget that extra flash, PCR now comes out of the flasher with xposed pre-installed.
NOTE: Xposed Installer may crash on first boot. It will not crash after setup finishes and you reboot
New Custom Boot Animation
Another great one from @rayan-refoua himself.
This one is my favorite so far.
JamesDSP
I added another DSP style audio mod. JamesDSP is similar to V4A in how it operates and what features it has, but it has some really awesome features that have gotten me using it for a while. Specifically it has a better convolver (IRS processing) implementation, and its bass boost is WAY better than v4a. However you can use both at the same time to get the best of both worlds.
ITYBP Modded YouTube
A last minute addition, this is a really nice youtube mod brought to you by XXXXXX ADD SOURCE XXXXX. It features some cool features like native adblocking (no more xposed module), override your max youtube resolution (so you can watch 4k videos on your phone), and, not as important to us, spoofing different device types to get true hdr videos. I have been using it for a while and really like it. A big thanks to them for letting me include it with PCR
Improved Debloating
I did a lot more digging this round, and was able to add back a few things that I had taken out without loading the system more. This rom feels snappier than any before it. As usual, if you find something missing that you want back, pull it from the stock rom and install it in /system.
Improved Battery Life
Thanks to some fine battery sleuthing work by @TheMadScientist, this release comes with a nice big bump in efficiency. With just some very minor tuning using amplify and a service disabler, I can get around 1%/h drain.
Performance Improvements
That increased battery life does not come at the cost of performance. In fact performance is better too. Part of that is due to a large batch of personally tested build.prop tweaks make the ui a lot more responsive. Part of that is the data optimisation scripts that now run at boot to make sure things are cleaned up and in tip top shape. You wont notice those, but they are there doing their thing.
Other Features
- Pre-Rooted with SuperSU installed
- CSC OYN pre-installed. Tested working on several carriers
- RCS and VoLTE icons removed from status bar.
- High quality audio mods, including
- Viper Audio (V4A)
- Dolby Atmos from the Axon 7
- Pandora hifi audio framework
- Native Google Dialer & Contacts support, including local search, spam call blocking
- Oreo 8..1 Emoji Icon Set
- Custom Lockscreen Clock font
- Stock system display fonts replaced with Apple's original San Francisco Font
Special Thanks
- @ahiron and @Zackptg5 for the killer sounds from V4A and Dolby Atmos Mods!
- The Aiur crew for Pandora (now a legacy mod but works great on the s8)
- @syndre for the Google Dialer and Contacts framework mod
- @rayan-refoua for the beautiful Tech Lines Custom boot and shutdown animations!
- Last but not least, my new friend @laura almeida, along with @Razerman amd @ZaneZam for letting me include the iYTBP - injected YouTube Background Playback Mod
- everyone who tested
Warnings/Disclaimers/Known Issues
- 80% Battery life like every other rooted US snapdragon device
- Flashing on a USB 3.0 port will likely cause corruption in your flash that can cause kernel panics, loss of root, and occasionally very strange other errors. If you get something like this, its not the rom its a hardware conflict that can only show up with larger images like are used in SamFail flashing. See the section below on Kernel Panics for more.
- If there is an app or apk from the stock rom that you wish you had installed, the best solution is to extract it from your stock rom image and copy it to the same place in /system using a root file manager. If a large number of people want something back, I will include it in the next version, but by now I think we have covered all those possibilities and now the list will only get shorter. No I will not put Bixby back
SamFail Rooting Process
and Rom Installation
WARNING: THE FOLLOWING WILL ERASE YOUR WHOLE PHONE
If you have a SDCard, remove it from your device. Occasional firmware incidents have wiped SDCards in the past. Better safe than sorry.
Prepare the Following:
- complete stock rom at your bootloader rev in case things dont work
- Everything backed up (see above)
- Both Prince Comsy Odin, and Regular Odin for flashing stock
- A USB 2.0 Port. If you attempt to flash with a USB 3.0 port it may work, but if you get kernel panics, or unexpected bad behavior and/or crashes your usb3 is absolutely to blame. some people get lucky and suceed after a few tries, YMMV. If you can not acquire a machine with a usb2.0 port, get a usb2.0 hub and run your phone into that & that into your machine. Reports are that has made things work for some, but we get few reports back.
[/size]
Steps to Root
1) Download and unzip AP Part 1 and BL Part 2 zip files.
2) Download and unzip Prince Comsey Odin and start it up
3) Reboot device into Download mode, connect to your pc
4) Open Comsy Odin and add ONLY the AP Part1.tar.md5 file. Select the following options only:
- "Auto-Reboot"
- "F-Reset Time"
- "Nand Erase All"
NOTE: Odin will freeze while checking the AP tar.md5 hash.
Be patient, it will come back.
5) Click "Start" and wait for the system.img.ext4 file to flash fully to your device. This will take a while too.
ATTENTION:
When the flash finishes, this is when the SamFail magic happens. Instead of saying "Failed (Auth)" like it should, the device will crash into upload mode with "Unknow Error".
If your device does not do this, and just says "Failed (Auth)" or something similar and stays in download mode, you need to start again from the beginning, but using a different set of ub ports as you have suffered from the usb3 corruption.
When you see the upload mode page, use the 3 button reboot to go back to download mode.
WARNING: When you reboot from upload mode, your phone will show an error instead of download mode.
When you reboot back into download mode, your screen will say that you had a failed update and you need to do emergency repair or take your device to a service center.
Rest assured, your phone is actually in download mode, and Odin will have recognized it and said "Added!" along with the com port lighting up underneath the progress bar.
It is safe to continue
6) Close and re-open Comsy Odin or hit the reset button, and add BL_PartCyborgRom-BootLoopEdition-<version>.tar.md5 to the BL section.
7) Leave the default checkboxes for "F Reset Time" and "Auto Reboot" checked. Click "Start" and flash the BL (part 2) to your device.
8) Wait for the flash to finish . It won't take very long at all all the files are small.
9) When it has finished, Odin will say PASS and your device will reboot into recovery.
Warning: Failure to follow this step could lead to a corrupted instance with no cell coverrage
10) When in recovery issue a factory reset. This ensures that your device has a userdata partition that is valid, and that the csc is processed correctly. Failure to do the reset could cause issues with either.
All done!
Donations/Root Bounty
Pledged a donation for the root bounty? Send it here. Thank you!
IF YOU GET A BOOT LOOP:
If you get a boot loop or your device hangs at boot, try the following:
1) Reboot to recovery and factory reset again.
To get to recovery hold power+vol-down until screen goes black, then wait till upload mode (press power key for 7+ secs) comes up. Then press vol-down+power again and hold it till it reboots and as SOON as the screen goes black switch to holding vol-up+power+bixby. Hold it for 5-7sec then let go and you will wind up in recovery mode.
Kernel Panic, Invalid Argument
Start the process over
Go back to the beginning and do everything again. If it fails in a new way this time, you may have hardware caused corruption, or maybe you missed a step. Change hardware, and keep trying.
