[Q] HELP!! No mobile network - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am using the I9300GSMH mobile. After flashing the CM11 to my phone, I lost the mobile network connection (2G and 3G). I know the problem was due to lost of IMEI (I got the blank info after type *#21#). I am trying to flashing the stock ROM using ODIN right now. But what can I do if I really wanna to use the CM11 for my mobile?
Many thanks!!
Jerald

Problems with imei stem from your efs folder, restore the efs backup you made before you started flashing anything.

[Q] No service after installing any new rom?

Hello guys, I am kinda experienced with flashing roms and stuff since I owned galaxy s2 for over a year. However I bought a second hand galaxy S3 one month ago and it has a turkish firmware however when I tried and installed a new rom everything seems to work find except the network service all i see is a circle and has no service and i tried many roms even jelly bean rom (which worked fine with my friend's S3) even i installed the same exact firmware that i had when i got the phone with the same kernel but got nothing :/ then i took it to where i bought it and he told me i can not install any rom on it and just the one i had on it then he took it for like an hour and it was working again... but its really bothering me! what's wrong? i want to install jelly bean or cyanogenmod but afraid to lose the service again i read its something related to radio or stuff? so any help please?? and here is a screenshot of my kernel and rom..
You could have corrupted the efs folder and all he did was restore it from one he backed up, root the phone flash tools and backup your efs then if there are any problems signal or IMEI just restore the efs you backed up.

[Q] Help. i9300 Network problem. " Not registered to network" after 4.3 update.
Hi. I have a Samsung galaxy s3 originally bought from Orange France. I unlocked it and worked perfectly until yesterday when i updated to 4.3 Vodafone Germany because they said the versions were the same. After this the battle started. My IMEI didn't change but i can't call anyone. I have "emergency calls only" instead of my network but full signal. I flashed about 6 versions of android from 4.0.4 to 4.2.2 again and back to 4.3 which i am running now. I have a backup with the clockworkmode on my computer from the 4.2.2 but i don't know where to copy it because i don't have all my folders in the internal storage now. i am desperate. i tried everything, searched everywhere...galaxysim unlock, busybox, ariza patch, modem patches ...i know that the old efs is in that backup and i think that is my last chance before sending the phone to a service. Anyone can help??? Thx
Clockworkmode (nandroid) does not backup efs unless you use a special version and make a custom backup.
Stop flashing random things before you brick your phone.
Go read general forum, stickies, efs 'know this stuff'.

[Q] Problems restoring CWM image to second I9300

trying to get the backup of one phone (4.3) onto another (4.0.4). when backup is restored to the second phone the wifi scans but wont connect (auth error). sim card not registering either. on the board it looks like the same model of i9300 as well the dates on the board of manufacture. one is from dubai and one from bulgaria. wondering if this is fixable by flashing another radio or is there more to it than that? when restoring to the original (4.0.4)it does get signal.
I think the problem is because of identical MAC address when you restored from another cwm backup.
try google and search for how to backup mac address and restore that file after resoring from cwm...

thanks for the idea but it cant be the mac address since i was able to connect to everything just fine when i restored to my old backup. Also installed a new version of 4.3 (android revolution hd) which connects fine to everything. I was just hoping to avoid reinstalling everything when i have a perfectly good backup from another seemingly identical I9300.
It appears the imei has changed. but why? how? after restoring now it will not connect to any sim network now. but wifi is fine. all i can think of is flashing more modem files and see if that helps?

[Q] Another Baseband Question - Need Experts Advice

Hi,
My S3's baseband is XXELL4. Recently I have tried Echoe Rom (4.3), which had a note that it wont alter modems, and if I lose network, I should flash MG4 modem to restore network. But after flashing, my IMEI was intact and I was able to get signals but when try to make calls, it shows "Not registered on network" error. Tried restoring my backup but again the same error for my previously working backups.
Since all the workarounds mentioned here did not workout for me (Including flashing stock 4.1.2 XXELL4 firmware and EFS restoration), I did a master wipe, restored XXELL4 modem first, then restored my EFS backup and flashed Fusion 4.4. Now everything was back to normal again.
So my question is how do I convert my EFS v1 modem to EFS v2 without losing network communications. I am interested to try modified stock 4.3 ROMs, as my primary requirements are fluidity with more juice for the day. So I need to flash a 4.3 stock based ROM and how do I do it without facing the same issue agian.
Any help from experts will be very much appreciated.

Thanks for the help. So if I flash this patched modem over XXELL4, will my network will still be working. Sorry for too many questions since my requirement would be hassle free switching between ROMs without losing network communications

Missing IMEI and Baseband.

Hello~
First of all I know that this has probably been asked before but bear with me please ^_^
I flashed a kernel on my GT-i9505.
It caused a whole bunch of FC on Google Framework Service and other key services.
Anywho I decided to restore the backup I made before flashing the kernel.
It stopped the FC but now I have no baseband, IMEI, IMEI SV or Phone number and I cannot connect to any mobile network as it does not detect my SIM.
I tried restoring my EFS backup in CWM and flashing the modem.tar and modem.bin in mobile odin, still with no success.
Short of re flashing my ROM what can I do to fix this.
It's stock Sammy TW 4.3 rom with root.l and I still have WiFi access.
Also on an unrelated note, how do I install custom boot animations? Any I try show up with a black screen. Weird.
Anywho if anyone can help I would be most appreciative~~!
Thankie in advance.
