I purchased a Samsung galaxy Alpha from Singapore. It was mentioned on the box that the device needs to be activated with a local sim card and a 5 minute continuous call needs to be made so as to continue using it outside of South East Asia.
I did the same. On returning to India, I started using the cellphone with a Vodafone Network Service Provider.
After about 15 days of usage, the cell suddenly started asking for "Sim Network unlock Pin".
I contacted the Samsung service centre in India and they asked me to contact Singapore, who in turn asked me to contact Malaysia support saying the Country of Manufacture is Malaysia. Malaysia support has asked me to ship the mobile back to Malaysia, which is not possible for me.
Then I rooted my mobile and installed RegionLock Away, which says problem should be solved but the problem is still persisting.
I read in a post and dialling the said codes gave the following output
1. *#12580*369#
AP: G850FXXU2BNK3
CP: G850FDXU1BNK2
CSC: G850FOLB2BNK2
RF Cal: 2014.10.17
HW Rev: MP 1.100
2. *#1234#
super user opened and asked to disable Samsung knox, which I did and then the following was displayed.
AP: G850FXXU2BNK3
CP: G850FDXU1BNK2
CSC: G850FOLB2BNK2
My question is What should I do to make my mobile phone operational.
I have also tried to dial in *#7465625#, which says 'not registered on network'.

I’ve been sent as a gift from my friend in Spain a new i-mate windows mobile pocket pc phone edition – HTC Himalayas Model PH10B. It did not come with a SIM card.
On starting for the first time (booting in English) it then immediately went on to “personalize” itself (in Spanish) and seemed to set to Vodafone (with a spanish CDS number and airtel.es I think for ISP services)?
I obviously want to use it with a UK network SIM card (I would prefer to use my contract O2 SIM)
I installed Outlook 2002 from the companion CD (ver 1.0 sept 2003), then downloaded and installed ActivSync 3.8. The device connects no problem to my desktop computer (winXP) via USB and my Outlook Contacts etc synchronize to the device OK.
I used the xda2ulock.exe v2.2 tool which now tells me that everything is "unlocked".
I tried to flash upgrade the ROM using O2 xdaII ROM’s with no success. I also tried to flash/upgrade the ROM to version: 1.72.00wwe and Radio version: 1.14.00 by downloading RUU172126WWE_imate.exe and RUU172800WWE_CDL_SKU1.exe from the Club i-mate web site. The main ROM refused to upgrade, (I tried twice) stalling with the Country ID error message and leaving the device in the Serial/USB bootloader v1.06 grey screen. Fortunately the Extended ROM (RUU172800WWE_CDL_SKU1.exe) recovered the device so that I now at least have: -
ROM version: 1.66.00WWE
ROM date: 02/02/04
Radio version: 1.10.00
Protocol version: 1337.18
ExtROM version: 1.72.800
and an i-mate screen.
Device Data returns the following information: -
U S B 3 2 - 1 . 6 6 . 0 0 W W E - P H 1 0 - C D L - W W E - 1 . 7 2 . 8 0 0 - 1 . 1 0 . 0 0
Using a Vodafone UK SIM card, the phone send/receives texts, connects to the Internet and detects all other UK Networks when searching manually. However, it will not receive or send any phone calls, even though the signal strength indicator shows all thermometer bars (4) OK and the “G” icon appears next to Vodafone UK under “connectivity”. (The device just doesn’t want to know my O2 SIM card – won’t do anything!)
Now I discover that when dialing *#06# the IMEI number shown (which matches Settings/System/Device Information/Identity) is not the same IMEI number as shown on the packaging label and the silver label inside the device behind the battery!
Has my friend been sold a “stolen” device with a Spanish blocked IMEI number which has been re-packaged as if new? Have I caused the problem by trying to flash/upgrade the ROM? Can I find out if the IMEI has been blocked in Spain (I have tried UK Networks who say they can’t trace and report on what Spanish networks may have done)?
I-mate technical support (Milton Keynes) suggests the best they could do is arrange to reload the Spanish Vodafone software, and they would charge me for that privilege, if and when they might be able to organize it!
You can imagine that I feel embarrassed to relay these problems to my friend in Spain whose integrity is unquestionable, yet I can see no other alternative unless someone on the forum can help?
Has anyone got any ideas?
its impossible installing a new rom does not change the imei number there are also no known ways to change imei on xda2
Thanks for info gazzaman2k.
i-mate tech support also said its impossible to have the software showing one IMEI number whereas the hardware shows another - but I'm afraid that's IS exactly what I've got!
I wonder which IMEI number is right? The number on the packing box and silver label inside the device behind the battery, or the other number according to Start/Settings/System/Device Information/Identity?
Does it matter anyway?
it its working fine then whats to worry? lol

Read the post. The guy can't make calls.
nholtom, Its possbile for a device to get an IMEI change if it goes off for repair and gets a new motherboard. But in that case they would change the sticker under the battery. Maybe that happened but they forgot to change the sticker?
Its unlikely to be blocked as stolen as if that happened in Spain, then it should work outside of that country. However it has to be said its behaving as though it is barred as stolen. Maybe it was originally a UK device and had a lost/stolen bar over here - and then sent to spain where it would work normally.
Looks like you'll need to speak to your friend in Spain. Very odd if the imei under the battery and via the settings don't match.
JD
Thank you jdee246 - yes that could be it.
Perhaps my friend managed to buy it at a discounted price if it had been a repair job, (it is after all a very expensive gift at full retail)!
If that's right, it seems that the real IMEI number would be the one that is shown through the software and NOT the one as shown on the labels.
I guess I will have to contact him and ask if he could check with Spanish Vodafone to see if the number has been blocked.
One other possibility might be what is listed on the following web page?
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=PPSIM_VODA1&asource=108654
Anyway - thanks for giving it some thought
Update on progress - or lack of it :-(
My friend in Spain confirms he bought it new "unlocked" from any network and his receipt shows the same IMEI number as on the box and inside label. However, as previously posted *#06# returns a different IMEI number which Vodafone UK now tells me is blacklisted! They can't understand how that has happened or why, if it is blocked, how I can still send and receive SMS messages and surf the net from the device by using a Vodafone UK Data/Voice or Vodafone Voice SIM card.
However, although I can text and surf with a Vodafone SIM card in, when phoning from the device, all one hears are three short beeps and then disconnection. If phoning to the device from another mobile or landline, one never hears a ring tone. My contract O2 SIM card won't even register on any network when I put this in the device!
At the moment I've given up trying to upgrade the ROM, (I do at least have a working pocket pc), but I really would still like to be able to get the phone working!
Are there any experts out there who'd like to hazard a guess at what I can do next?
What about this one

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 and I flashed a Stock 2.3.5 Rom to my phone because I screwed up flashing a previous Rom. The Rom I flashed appears to be defaulted to Poland, I managed to change the language, but for some reason I can't get any Cell reception, I am unable to send texts or make phone calls. I checked the CSC and it is: XEO - Poland (Plus, Era, Heyah, Orange, Play). I don't know much about phones but this appears to be an issue since I don't live anywhere near Poland.
I have a Telus Sim card but it appears as if my phone can't connect to their network. Additionally, before flashing this Rom I was pretty sure that my only option in Network Operators was Telus, but now I have Telus and CAN Rogers Mobile INC. When I attempt to select Telus from this list it says "Registering on TELUS..." for around 2-3 minutes then says "Unable to connect to network, try again"
I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
When I go to About Phone>Status it says..
Network: Unknown
Mobile Network Type: UMTS
Service State: Out of Service
Roaming: Not roaming(although this appears to switch on and off, despite me being well within Telus coverage.)
Mobile Network State: Disconnected
Android Version: 2.3.5
Baseband version: S5830XWKS2
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-perf-CL654989
[email protected] #1
Build number: Gingerbread.XWKS9
Do I have to install a Telus Canadian version of the stock firmware for 2.3.5 or could I possibly install stock firmware for 2.3.4 and update it through kies to get the appropriate CSC?(My phone is able to connect to Samsung kies)
I don't care if my phone has 2.3.4 or 2.3.5, either one would be fine with me.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated, ask me any and all questions.
MAJOR EDIT
I put *#7465625# into my phone to check the Network Lock and Sim Lock's and it turns out
Network Lock [ON]
Network Subset Lock [OFF]
SP Lock [ON]
CP Lock [ON]
Does this mean that I can't connect to to the network because there is a lock on it? If this is right I assume I need to go to Telus and have them unlock it, right?
Edit: I phoned *#2263# to get into a frequency selection screen and I selected: WCDMA Band Preference>WCDMA 850
Telus runs on 850/1900, I have the option to choose 1900, and the option to choose all(850/900/1800/1900/2100), there's also an option to choose "Automatic", should I stick with running 850, or risk running automatic and have it randomly jump around for unknown reasons? I know 850 will work in most areas I go, so it wouldn't be a serious drawback.
I think it's best to use the Telus firmware.....

I'm not entirely certain, but I don't think Telus has any official Firmware that the public has access to. If you have found any that would be appreciated, but as far as I'm aware, companies don't put that kind of thing out into the general public.
On Telusmobilitys site if you go to the section to update software I can see Samsung Galaxy Ace on the list but it says 2.3.4 and there are no available updates, which means I can't update it through that method.
Is the CSC being different an issue or just a small annoyance?

I'm a Singaporean but my Ace is set to XSR (or XER I forgot)
Herpderp Defy.
I don't think I clarified this in the op, there is only one option in the CSC list, which is XEO, Poland, I presume I need a Telus CSC, however, using the list found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787163
I can't find one that would work for a Telus phone.
Edit: My phones Network is now connected to "TELUS" and Service State is "In Service" but I still have to send messages 3-4 times before they finally say sent, sometimes taking up to 3 minutes to send a simple message.
If anyone knows any way to fix this I'd greatly appreciate it.

I think there was a similar thread about this , try finding it

Hello
I have a galaxy s3 purchased in Norway, which I took with me when I moved to Singapore. I managed to drop the phone and thereby crush the screen, so I handed the phone in to Samsung Service Center here in Singapore to have the LCD replaced.
They replaced it, but now I have a new problem: They flushed my OS, and updated with an asian version of the OS. All the functions on the phone works, except for this:
I can not connect to either wifi or cellular networks. I can see both, but the phone is unable to connect.
I checked my IMEI number, which is now a 0049***
Android version 4.1.2
Baseband version I9300DXEMB1
AP: I9300XXEMF6
CP: I9300DXEMB1
CSC: I9300OLBEMF3
I talked to Samsung in Norway, and they said that this problem is probably due to not having installed the NEE version of the Android OS.
Samsung in Singapore say that I have to change the motherboard aswell, saying that they had to flush the phone in order to replace the screen (I am not an expert, but I believe screens run independently from the software installed?). Did they really have to flush the phone to replace the LCD? They also say that it is impossible for them here in Singapore to install european software due to Samsung rules?
My problem is that I want my phone to be able to connect to networks and wifis again. Is there any way I can do this, preferably without breaking my norwegian warranty? Or anything I can try to reset my phone back to original software?
All answers are welcome and thanked for!
hi all,
i have a i9100 - (STOCK ROM) which i got from UK-VODAFONE. i got it hard bricked due to eMMC bug. i took it to Samsung service center in Pakistan. they told me that the motherboard need to be changed to make the phone functions. they changed the board and now STOCK ROM - Pakistan.
now when i use it with kies, it says "Your device's current firmware version is not supported firmware via Kies"
Can anybody tell me what to do now?
Thanks in Advance
Bilal
What is your current firmware version?
Pda: I9100xwlsd
phone: I9100xxls8
csc: I9100jvls6
I think the CSC needs to be changed... for if you stay in Pakistan then it should be PAK.
THIS WILL ERASE ALL YOUR DATA
First get your IMEI number by typing
Code:
*#06#
Into the dailer app, it should be a string of 15 numbers for example "123456789876543" Write this down
Next put this into your dailer
Code:
*#272*-IMEI-#
For example *#272*123456789876543#
A screen should automatically appear with many different options, now choose PAK and it will handle the rest by itself. If the screen does not appear then post back here.
thanks for the reply .... i am in Saudi Arabia now as i am working here.
I tried code *#272*=iemi but recieved a message "service not supported"
I purchased my SM-G900F refurbished in the uk couple of years ago. I’ve been having intermittent but persistent issues with calling, mobile data and signal.
After some digging I’ve found that the phone CSC code states it is from portugal (seller stated it was a uk phone )
PDA shows UK code and I set the phone up as UK.
This leads to a few questions:
1. Would this cause any issues like those stated above?
2. How would I change the CSC to UK code & what are the potential drawbacks?
3. As I don’t know if the phone really was factory unlocked, will I lose my sim unlock by doing the change?
Phone is running stock 6.0.1 firmware.
Any help is appreciated.
Many thanks,
TLA
