Hii everyone
I've got some really weird Battery Issues on different Lollipop Roms (CM12, ResurrectionRemix 5.3.5-5.3.7, Beanstalk and SlimLP).
The problem is, as soon as i restart the phone the battery percentage drops from 50% to 13% for no reason.
If i charge the phone later suddendly the loose percentage are back, but the phone consumption more "battery" so it's sooner at 0% as normal.
Does anybody else faceing this problem? Or whats the solution?
(Tried several times to calibrate the battery, and it's a new one ca. 6 months old)

I've had these problems when I first bought my phone used off eBay. Phone battery was very erratic. After a reboot battery would be less than half or nearly 0 even with 80%+ battery. Or would shut down with 5% left. Or drain battery a lot quicker than normal.
Soon as I bought a new battery my problems vanished. My battery would stay solid no matter how many times I flashed a new ROM or rebooted. BUT after 3 months these drops have started to happen again with reboots. Not always like before, but they're happening.
I think it's down to battery conditioning. The way you charge and discharge your battery. There are set ways to charge a phone to maintain battery health.
How does your battery react without rebooting from a full change to shut down? You shouldn't need to reboot a phone with a good stable ROM once you've set it up the way you like it. Also calibrating you battery or wiping your fuel gauge meter to often isn't good practice as android and your phone will do calibrating itself after some time and needs the information that these starts provide.
Battery jumps seem to happen with a lot of S2 users. Maybe a flaw in the design of phone. But good battery practices are important, things like not leaving your phone charging overnight. Batteries don't like being left on charge when they are full. There's more info out there on XDA that I can't remember myself as I am guilty of bad battery practices as I use my phone all the time and don't have time to full charge cycle.
Yes same problem
Battery drains really fast when restarting
Any fix for this?
I am hiving battery problems too. Battery is dropping % like it leaking or sth. Last time my phone rebooted due to full ram and it dropped from 50% to 12%. I left it like that. After some time battery re-charged itself from 12 to 23 % ! Phone was lying on the sofa without connected charger ! Should i clen fuel guage chip or my battery is EOL ?

you have to reboot for example if you install xposed and new modules i've calibrated the battery just 3 times i think this isnt too much?
and i understand the problem with charging overnight but there's no other solution for me :/
I have the same problem of battery drain with SlimLP beta 5, here my screenshot: shoplc.altervista.org/gallery/

2 hours display, 54 minutes call, 15 msg whatsapp, 30 msg telegram, 2 record videos 720p, 6 photo, 18 email and 30 minutes of twitter, this is a my typical day of use my phone.
ps: I may have missed something
Forgot to say, if you want to avoid battery drops when rebooting make sure you plug your phone into charge before rebooting. Thus should stop battery dropping afterwards.

The battery often drops when the phone hangs at work and reboot from itself so i have no chance to plug it in.
I have same problem, battery drain too fast & after reboot same time battery level is "falling" at one moment twice. At first, I think it's a battery problem, but battery work fine at CM12 mod, and have problem at SLIMLP 5.1.1 mod. When battery "falling" it's not heating, which means no real discharge.
Hello friends I just purchased a new battery this is 3.7V battery
But the old Samsung stock battery that comes with the phone is 4.2V is this ok or this is necessary to need battery is 4.2V im still useing jellybean stock os 4.1.2 but im a custom Rom Flashaholic please guide me should I need a same battery volt so I return it and find another I purchased it from amazon estore thanks for replying

Hi guys, I am at my wits end with this stupid phone, If its not one problem its another. I was convinced this phone would have amazing battery life once seeing my cousins AT&T version, I bought the UK T-mobile version and its been plagued with faults. The main fault it has developed now is that it won't charge past 96%, I have configured the battery and installed the 1% battery fix and nothing is happening also my battery has been draining quicker than usual. Sometimes I get 13hrs sometimes I get 7hrs!? Could someone give me some advise? I was thinking of ringing my insurance company for a replacement (as it is with my bank and usually they just replace the phone)

I'm sorry, are you sitting in front of my phone? I have followed this correctly on another atrix and it has worked for them, I don't know why its not working on mine I have followed it through properly.
How long have you had the phone?
One thing we all have to consider is that since the dev community has had to provide "fixes" for the Battery Reading on the Atrix it might be safe to say that at some point the measurement might become too accurate. What I mean by this is, I've had my phone for almost a year now and I'm pretty convinced that the reason my battery won't charge past 97% is because of the natural degradation of the lithium battery. It is a fact that lithium batteries can lose up to 10% of its charge capacity after a year. So I've accepted the fact that my battery just might be losing capacity and the battery mods I have applied to my phone are just that much more accurate.
This reminds me of the recently released Galaxy Nexus and people complaining about the signal and Verizon responded with that the "reading" was too accurate and that they'll release a patch that will basically "lie" to the end user about the strength of their connection.
http://www.androidcentral.com/verizon-galaxy-nexus-signal-strength-its-not-us-its-you
Verizon is just basically saying "Here, let us cripple your phone for you"

I have had the phone for about 3 months now. This is why I am saying its weird. The fact that it dies so quickly is another thing I got about 7 hours of moderate use with about 1hr 45 display time with 10 mins of music and about 10 texts and a few phone calls(about 3 short 5 min ones)l
All of you are talking percent. What is the power level of the battery at max charge? Battery showing charging to 100%, or any other percent, and having full charge are not the same thing.

Could be a faulty battery. If you've only had it 3 months I would try to get the battery replaced if it has drain issues.

The battery never reaches 100 on the phone it will sit there at 96% and even the battery calibration app says the battery isnt at 4200mv (which apparently it should be) its at 4190. I never charge mid way I always let the phone get to about 15% then chuck it on charge.

Well I use the internal android one but I want to know whats draining it because today nothing was running, i had everything shut down and frozen that wasn't necessary.
You might need to use a 3rd party app to find the "rogue" app/process. Other than BMW, I also use System Panel to monitor it if I notice my usage time is depleting, it works well. You have to have monitoring activated and it's only available on the paid version, but you can use the free version to manually watch your apps/processes.

Ok so I recalibrated the battery and got rid of the 96% freeze but now the drain is quicker than ever :S
have you tried wiping battery stats as well? Also, when you recalibrate, do you go through a couple "full" charge cycles? As in, do you allow the phone to fully discharge and then completely charge it plus at least an extra hour? I know that lithium batteries do not have the "memory effect" but I think it has more to do with software rather than the battery itself.

yeah i do wipe battery stats but the mAh is not going to 4200 its stuck at 4186 nd wont go past 98%
Something else you could try that I've read around here.
1. Charge the battery for like 4 hours until it won't charge anymore.
2. Unplug the phone from the charger, turn it off, and then pull the battery out
3. Plug the phone back into the charger (Do not put the battery back in yet)
4. Wait for the phone to show an image of a battery with a question mark in it.
5. Put the battery back in.
6. Wait for it to recognize the battery, it will probably give a very low percentage like 5% or 10%.
7. Do not turn it on yet, let it charge for another hour or so.
8. Once you return, it will still probably show a low battery reading, ignore that and boot into recovery while it's still plugged in by long-pressing the power button and when you see the green led notification light press and hold volume down
9. Wipe battery stats and then reboot.
10. Wait for it to boot and then unplug it from the charger and check the battery reading.
I really don't understand what this does but I've read it has fixed the issue for some people.

Hi All,
i am using a non rooted SGS2 in india. its running on the latest android firmware 2.3.6 (waiting for ICS.. )
the problem i am facing is that from past few days i see my battery drains very very quickly.. even if there is nothing running in background. i am using juice defender ultimate.. i guess its not helping either..
also it takes like forever to charge up.. i mean i plug my phone for charging at 17% after 2 hours it just reached to 21%..
at times while charging it through the USB.. it seems to be discharging.. it was at 37% after some time its reduced to 29%..
Also my phone heats up a lot for unnecessary reasons..
has any one faced this issue? please help...

first of all what programs run in background of your device?
second, what battery you use ? (1650 mAh 2000 mAh)
have you looked at your battery if the battery is working 100% or if the battery is damaged?
what rom is running on your device, which kernel do you use?
Could happen from rom. Here in germany the official 2.3.6 update was cancelled because of problems containing battery drain und reboots. Perhaps same stock rom problems in development.

i think your battery is gone. Maybe try charging it with the phone off or something. and if it it goes to 100% u can try download the battery calibration app on market to calibrate it properly. I would try everything i can before sending it back to samsung.
sounds like hardware problem mate, the phone should warm up when plugged but it shouldn't be above 35°C or so, and the slow charge problem could be related
if you can get another battery to test it out, or just buy a new one
good luck
You could try to reset your battery stats before going out buying a new battery.
thanks guys for your suggestions..
i uninstalled some of the crappy apps that i never used.. & voila my phone is back to normal .. less heat up.. battery lasts for 1 day.. hope it stays that way..
waiting for ICS..
@jeroensk - how can reset my battery stats..?
Clear battery stats boot to cwm recovery >> advanced wipe battery stats
But you will need a cwm and rooted phone ..
As battery stats do not need wiping dont worry about it battery automatically calibrates itself .
Some muppets think wiping battery stats actual does something . |It does not play any part in charging the battery or battery life on SGS2 .

make a test disabling the data/wifi and bluetooth, don't use full brightness in the screen after that use it normally if in those conditions the battery still drains in 3 hours then I dare to say that is something in the hardware of the phone
DONE all of that ! tried everything trust me well i think ive tried everything, im on stock rom now, calibrating my battery again and again till i get 100% after restart, because whenever i charge it charges in like 20 minutes, lets see how i go, sometimes with 30% battery i get 4 hours, sometimes with 100% battery i get 4 hours battery, makes no sense whatsoever.

you would never get 100% after restart because the phone uses battery when booting and loading the system.
calibrating if you are talking about the option that erase the file that have the stats of the battery that isn't going to change anything if your phone discharge in x minutes it will still discharge in that same amount of time because that method of calibration is a kind of reset to the %display in the phone nothing else.
if you can. try measuring the mA of the battery after charging it with a tester, then measure it again when the phone display something like 50% of charge it shouldn't vary a lot if the battery is in a good state.
but you in the first post said that you have tried with a new battery and still get the same time. and at the same time say that you have tried the phone with the data off. and get discharged quickly. if that is accurate then your phone have some kind of hardware failure that is making it use more battery than necessary, so you should send it to repair.
ps: also you can check the phone signal if you are in an area with poor reception the phone will use more battery because it will need to use more potency to establish a link with the cell tower.

nope not in an area with poor signal, ok im thinkin its an hardware failure as well, i might need to buy an external charger , my charging port might be screwed up, but like when i let my battery die down a little bit, and then i calibrate when it is at about 40% i then wipe battery stats and restart phone its at 22% and it stayed at 22% all night i didnt put it too charge and i listened to music for about 30 minutes or so, now i dont know what the f*** is going on i love my x10 mini pro, i just want this solved
I sort of got this kind of problem when i was running MiniCM2.2.0. It really buggered up the battery, it would lose about 7 or 8 percent when i was just looking at the lockscreen after powering up my phone.
Sometimes it will just drain like in no time at all, complain that i have to charge it, but when I turn off the phone and restart it, and it will say i'm at 60 percent. sometimes that is true, sometimes not, i only put it on the charger when I'm reasonably sure there is no power left, ie, if after a restart of two or three it will still say i'm under 10%.
So, whenever it runs out of power,do a restart and see how much power you've got left. don't charge it until you're absolutely sure you have to. Still not sure where it leads to, but I don't think i'll get back the battery-endurance i had before., which was about 3 or 4 days on fairly minimal use, without 3g or wifi.
(PS: Don't wipe battery stats until the phone is fully charged. Charging it from just about nothing to 100% in one go and then wiping the stats seems to give me best result.)

yep ive tried different charger and charging through USB. same thing charges to 100% really fast, and comes back down really fast, every single time i restart my phone after it has charged to one hundred percentage drops by 20% until it has come to its real charged percentage i think it is in the hardware of my phone, am i able to connect a bst38 battery to an old nokia to try charge the phone?

As you are saying that your mobile seems "hot"
First you need to confirm that its charger/device issue or only with battery.
First do battery calibration with this method: (In this method you need custom recovery for your device
This may help you

Dont forget to thank him there on his thread.
IMPORTANT: You can skip this step>> "Wait 20 min after you are sure it is 100% (phone should stay plugged in)" - As i dont know much about LG devices and their batteries
Now some advice from me-
If you can cover it >>> Never charge battery again and again before 15 or 20%
Always charge your battery to 100% at once and use your device till 15% or less than 15% and then again charge it full and so on...
This will make your battery backup good as well for battery life

Yes my mobile seems hot and i always try to charge it upto 100%. One more thing does it damage they battery in anyway if you leave the charger on after the battery is full?

According to the Battery Doctor app, you shouldn't leave your phone on charge for more than 9-10 hours(MAX), otherwise it WILL harm your battery.
You should try hibernating some of those apps with Greenify.
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
BetterBatteryStats
Use better battery stat (check play store) or similar app to track draining application.
In this way you can find a culprit

Yes, over charge can reduce battery life.
Hi guys I really need help:
Its been a few months that my s3 was weird. It would drain really fast and when it got to low charge, the screen would flicker and freeze on whatever it was on. Whenever I opened any power hungry apps at whatever percentage, the flickering would still happen. The only way to prevent this flickering was by having it on AC, on which there was never any flickering so the phone was constantly on 100.
However when not on charge, the battery would fall really quickly I'm talking 1% every few minutes. It would then eventually reach zero and die. But the weird thing is as soon as I plug it in to be charged, it would suddenly be 45% or somewhere around there? This confused me I thought maybe it was the battery so i bought a new genuine battery but no luck as the exact same thing happens.. I am out of ideas I don't know what to do. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying: UPDATE: Here's an example of what the battery life is like: I started a video recording and it went down 6% in 5 mins then 12% in 10 mins then 18% in 15 mins so it goes down exactly 6% every 5 mins for a video recording. I am not sure if this is hardware or software.

Do you use stock rom? Or custom? If custom then check to see if you have right bootloader and kernel installed or any other custom rom related problems. Or you could just download a stock rom and flash it then check to see if your problem persists, if it does then it might be a hardware problem which we cannot help you with.
Replace battery, screen flickering with a battery above 1% means your device isn't displaying the real charge, I forgot where I read but if you let the device discharge to 0% and wait for sometime your battery will 'charge on its own', know that this charge wouldn't last as long as a normal charge;
I fully discharged an old battery then leave it overnight, I came back with 70% power, went browsing for awhile and the screen begins to flicker at 30% and it eventually froze and turned itself off.
Tl;dr buy a new battery

Yes thats exactly what i thought its not showing the correct percentage. I bought a new battery but problem still persists so I was thinking that my phone isnt displaying the correct percentage for some reason it isnt a problem with consumption instead it doesnt display the correct power. SO new battery didnt fix it. Thanks for your reply.

No need to check all that if you use stock rom and didnt flash any custom rom, use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.batteryapps.batterycalibration and follow all instructions and check to see if your problem is fixed.

No it didn't fix. I either need software that will display the correct battery percentage or just fix this problem or check my phone if it has problems or the hardware?
