hello
I am considering switching from ios iphone to android myself
Already bought a note 4 for my wife and used smartswitch (on my mac )to transfer data from her iphone to her new note 4.
It went pretty well, but some pictures were not in the right "timeline" in samsung gallery app and all her videos from her iphone got the same date as kies import date.
We both use apple camera roll to browse through our pictures and videos we have taken ourself and would like the same in the gallery app sorted by date and time the picture and video was created on the iphone
can you direct me to a solution ?
thanks alot

Hello
First post here, and my first android phone incoming.
I have always been heavily been invested in apple products, but im getting tired of them.
So now i finally made the jump, sold my ip4 and orderd a galaxy s2.
But my ht setup is kinda the way i like it now, so im gonna to ask some questions.
I have a bunch of mkvs on my pc, i do have a TV with allshare/dlna. But im wondering if its possible to use like metadata agent with scrapes all the moveis i have on my PC/network. So i can view the movie info etc on my android phone, then send the movie from my pc to my tv trough the phone, if you know what i mean.
Its kinda hard to explain, but its quite important to me.
I use plex now on my ipad 2, it scrapes from my pc and sends it from the ipad to the tv using airplay.
I guess mvideoplayer cant access movies/files on the network, i see that its metadata support, i like covers, info etc.
Sorry for all the rambling, but to summarize (since i know nothing about android).
Is there a way to stream content (which is on the pc/network) through my phone to my allshare/dlna TV, trough an app that shows metadata.
First, of all, welcome to Android.
You will not regret the move from iOS to Android.
I think this is what you are asking about. The following is from the Galaxy 2 website:
"AllShare
Show off? Why not when it’s this easy. AllShare lets the Samsung GALAXY S II link wirelessly with a TV, laptop or even audio system to play multimedia files directly from the phone. AllShare synchronizes the phone with a compatible DLNA based product. So start the streaming to the big screen in HD. That’s media convergence made simple!"

If it's plex from plexapp.com you are using on your ipad it's available for android in the market for $4.99
I want to thank anyone who answers this in advance. I am usually pretty good at figuring this stuff out but at this point my head is spinning.
I just bought and Asus 300 tablet for house use. I mainly bought this for our 4 year old for learning apps and entertainment. I then realized that I have her music on a bunch of other devices so I figured that now would be a good time to get everything synced up with one another. I am mainly concerned about the music aspect of syncing and if an app(s)/method(s) included other things like pictures and videos I would not be opposed. The main devices I want to sync are as follows:
2 galaxy s3’s
2 older Android phones that will be used as media (music devices like an ipod) which are a Epic 4G and a Evo
1 Asus Transformer 300
2 computers running Vista and Windows 8
And maybe if it wasn’t a problem an XP desktop, an XP laptop, and an Ipod nano.
The nano is not a big concern since I know how Apple is about sharing and I could just take most of my music to another system/use another method. I have looked into Amazons Cloud Player and have heard about some other Apps like Double Twist but I am still a little lost. I am basically looking for something that is more or less fully automated (or pretty close to it).
Thanks in advance,
Jeffrey
I would also like syncing of playlists, I can't believe I forgot to mention that. It would be great to have the ability to have a playlist in a playlist or something like that.
Example:
Mia's music playlist"s"
...Mia's sleep music playlist
......song 1
......song 2 etc.
...Mia's fun music playlist
......song 1
......song 2 etc
mods....should this topic be moved or something?
i'm not sure if there's a definite app that syncs your music library from 1 android to another, but you can downloa sugasync or dropbox and sync everything

Click to collapse
It is fine if everything is on my main laptop and then synced to the other devices. Thanks for responding.
anyone else?
Does anyone know how to stream a live feed from the Galaxy S2 Camera to Computer? An app, a hack both?
I know Android is very open and there should be little difficulty unlike with Crapples Iphone
Hi, I would really appreciate the help. I used to absolutely love group play on my galaxy s 4 & 5. Now I have upgraded to the note 5 and realised that there is no group play. I tried installing some of the apks available online. But those only alow picture and document sharing. I need video sharing. Is there any alternatives to video screen mirroring on 2 android phones?
This phone is great and so is the camera. I spent couple of hours trying things out and I'm very impressed. I like the video stabilization and the zoom quality while recording. Coming from S10e with crowded controls on smaller screen, this one is much better to operate. However, a gimbal would be a nice addition to video stabilization to avoid any 'jerkiness', it is still a phone after all.
Now, I stumbled upon something I cannot explain: I stored part of today's vids and pictures on internal storage and other part part on external microSD to see later on the differences in files transfer speed between UFS3.0 and the ordinary SD. I created two separate folders on my desktop for each. The pics from the internal storage opened w/o problems but the videos wouldn't(Windows10) telling me that I need additional HEVC codex from Microsoft store for .99 cents.
But my desktop's default player is VLC and when I opened the folder with vids & pics files that came from external microSD the videos started right away.
I had the same settings on the phone for either storage(both HEVC) so, what do you think of that? Well, I'll investigate it later.
edited I moved all videos from one desktop folder to another and I can play the videos that wouldn't play initially.
Re:#4 - What kind of wasp is that? Took it with about X5 zoom.
I have HEVC codec installed as part of standard Win 10 installation, but maybe due to licensing fees it is provided by computer manufacturer instead of MS(check under settings/apps&features/HEVC Video Extension)? But VLC or MPC should come with own major codecs installed and work fine even without Win10 codecs. BTW Win 10 is messed up and does a lot of strange things (for example use different program to open a file than set in preferences).
Am gonna be looking into that. I don't mind using VLC at all. I built this computer by myself few years ago as Windows 7Pro(Asus Z-97 mobo,Intel Core i5 4690K) and just recently installed Windows 10Pro for free. Funny, because I paid only $99 back then for the Windows 7Pro installation disk and now I just followed up on some article I've read somewhere on the web, how to get Windows 10 - uh, here it is: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10/#34de222e-6944-44aa-8f45-8e96988880a4
and I downloaded that Win 10 Pro installation from there. I didn't need the .iso files, I just ran the disk as DVD and it installed over the whole OS with my old id # valid for 10Pro. Sooner or later everyone will have make the switch.
I actually like Windows 10 after rather heavy hand personalization, getting rid of many things I didn't like.
Sure, after you disable automatic updates (they fail on my computer every single time), disable all the tracking, spying and advertising (programs get installed on your computer without your knowledge), fix Windows search function (for example you search for some file on your computer and you get random advertising suggestion from web totally unrelated to your search query as the answer), get rid of metro apps since some don't work (I had picture viewer unable to open standard jpeg file for example), don't turn on ransomware protection (will break some of your programs) and do some other tweaks, Win10 can actually work reasonably well. At least you don't have to break into your own computer to make those changes, like getting root access on Android. BTW to play video files I prefer MPC over VLC (have both) and don't use Windows Media Player which could start dropping frames on 4k video even with fast CPU.
a flea market bat that i modified.

A few taken yesterday. Night Mode is good but it does take ages to take an image .
I really like the wide angle. Been difficult not to. The pictures are super saturated but I kinda like that. The steady cam feature is incredible. I shot something driving in a pick up truck through rutted roads and it came out gorgeous.
