Hey guys, I have probably received over 10 calls from whatsapp to activate the calling feature, however, it's not working. I have tried both latest versions 522 and 555 and I still got no activation. I am starting to believe that whatsapp has blocked it in some countries including mine, United Arab Emirates.
Are there any other UAE numbers activated or is it just me? I am using Galaxy Note 4. Android version 4.4.4
Any suggestions please?

Hi,
Since I sync my X01HT with my PC outlook,
the phone number is my contacts looks like:
+81 3 12345678.
If I dialed this one directly, I got an error voice message.
The SB cannot recognize "+" sign.
Should I use some software to change this number automatically to:
03 12345678?
By the way, I can use this number well in Taiwan or China.

i don't know if there is any software that can automatically do it for you but you can't dial + when you are making calls from japan and numbers need to be changed to the 03 12345678 format you mentioned. what i did is manually added those in each contact as an alternate phone number so that i can pick and choose the one appropriate depending on where i am.
Try dialing +81312345678 manually, then you will know if it is a problem with your contacts or a total incompatability with the network.

i said that doesn't work when you are calling from japan. you have to apply for the international calling service first if you want to make international calls, but even with that using + plus the country code doesn't work in japan.

Thank you harryk1372 for your suitable comments.
This is why I want to find some soft to change the "+" for me automatically.
One can use "+86" in the China Telecom network.
I tried "dialDTMF", but nothing happened.
I fight this since I am in Japan, but once again, one man against the Japanese bureaucratic world... Anyway things which drives me nuts is that while you have to dial 010 for call, SMS use the international dialing system with +
http://mb.softbank.jp/mb/en/global_service/international/message/sb3g/index.html
Now how hard can it be for Japan or SB use an international standard... like this dammed + ?
Or if they love so their uniqueness (their 010) why could not they simply tweak their system to accept both 010 and +

exactly... why the hell they need to use 010 for voice calls when they can accept + for sms. they should consider accepting + for voice as well.
Someone might like to take a look here.

I've been using the generic installation on my X01HT and it's the best work around I've found.
All my contacts from Outlook have full numbers including country codes with "+".
In the Country Code options I have a Japan International setting that adds 010 with the Convert + and remove - options checked.
When I select a Japanese contact, in Japan, I toggle the Int'l Access off to get no country codes.
For a Japan based International call I toggle the Int'l Access on (the country code appears) and then the Int'l Calling to select the Country code option to add 010.
It sounds more complicated than it is, but anyone who has had a call in, cursed they can't copy/paste a number and add 010 etc will find it a blessing.
There is no information on the author so take care, but I don't think it is doing anything malicious.

Hello!
I've got EE branded mediapad m5 10.8 CMR-AL09 LTE version, but it has phone calls making functionality disabled by EE, I guess.
I can use EE sim card to browse the internet, but I can't make phone calls
Does anyone know a way to enable voice calling? Maybe there is a secret menu or something?
If I installed unbranded firmware would it enable making phone calls?
I unlocked bootloader and rooted it, its a great tablet, if only I could make phone calls as well!

The voice calling is disabled by the provider. In the settings of the phone app is the option to enable it but only the provider has the password. You can ask them to give you the password, mine didn't wanted to give me his.
Nö other way then the provider password.

Thank you very much for the reply
:crying: Thats very sad, I was hopping that there is a way
But what will happen if I install unbranded firmware? Voice calling still not going to work?
Nope because it's locked on the SIM card. The installed firmware has nothing to do with it. Sorry mate, I already talked to mine and they won't unlock it.

The tablet doesnt support phone calls. LTE is just for internet connectivty. You have to use apps like Skype to make phone calls.

Notworking in my phone

I have it on my phone in UK. I'm stock and it's always been available.
still no WiFi-Calling solution ?
^^^
I have an Irish SIM and the carrier does not support wifi calling. No option in Wireless and networks | Call Settings menu.
My UK SIM supports wifi calling and that option is in the menu under SIM 2.
Looks to me to be added to the menu by the carrier enabling it.
Phone is European version JSN-L21C432. Not sure wifi calling is available in all regions and variants of the phone.
The SIM card that I'm using right now has been in iPhone and WiFi calling was working just fine. I have switched over to Honor 8x and the Wi-Fi calling never appeared at the settings never.
My version JSN-L22 8.2. 0.104 (c185)
EMUI version 8.2.0
Android version : 8.1.0
The SIM car that I'm using it has been in iPhone and the WiFi-calling was working totally fine. I have switched to Honor 8x and WiFi-calling never appeared in the settings.
