please recommend some extended batteries - G3 Accessories

My G3 is a real battery hunger. Please suggest me to get the most battery life out of it or could anyone recommend some extended batteries? Thank u.

ZeroLemon. I've had great success with the ones I purchased for my s3 and note 3, when I buy a g3 I will purchase another ZeroLemon battery. Customer Service is top notch.

zerolemon is definitely the way to go. the G3 extended battery is great. it makes the phone chunky as all, but the battery life makes it worth it. i get 4 days on it

I run a Mugen

I get this one
http://www.ebay.com/itm/External-Po...155?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20f8dd7f93

The lemon extended battery and case is awfully big. I carry an external battery from Anker and leave it in the office, car, backpack, etc.

I have the zerolemon 9000mah battery and I love it. Can't kill the battery! Lol

Is there any other brand than ZEROLEMON??

Shayne posted above that he uses the Mugen extended battery. He gets very long battery life with it.

thats way too expensive

I bought this one. It is basically a clone of the Hyperion extended battery.
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...ver-Case-For-LG-G3-BL/318681_32237412722.html
It is definitely not 7200mah like it claims but over 6000mah for sure as it takes double the time to charge the stock 3000mah and the battery life has also more or less doubled. I have been using it for only 6 days now but the battery life is much better.

Zero Lemon is the only way to go .I've used on GN2 and GN3. It has proven itself to be very dependable . It by far the best battery out there.

Has anyone tried any of the batteries claiming a higher mah but same dimensions as the oem battery?

Zerolemon is a giant brick..... My Mugen is the ****... Can't talk smack if you don't own one then I guess...

I am an idiot ignore this.

Do you have any issue with microphone? I found one review " it does seem to make it harder for people to hear you talk is the one drawback I have seen" . Is that true ?

I have used extended batteries in the past with other phones. After upgrading I see them as wasted money. I just bought a small batter to plug in to charge my phone. Sure it's something extra I have to take with me, but not all of them are large and bothersome. I have seen some that have built in flashlights. Saw one that even has a Bluetooth hard drive. At least with them I can still use them if I get a different phone. If you haven bought an extended battery yet you might want to consider a USB battery. The one I have is anker 2nd gen astro 6400. It's not too large and gives me enough power if needed for the day.

Please allow me to join the choir: Zerolemon is probably your best option.

Droidax 1650mAh Battery Case: The worst out of the 3. I only get approx. 30% extra battery when I should be at least 75% based on its stats. This is my second case from the mfg. because I had the same issue with the first one. My opinion is that they need to use better components when making the case such as a better battery. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this case. If they upgrade the internals then maybe I would change my opinion, but until then. Hell I would pay more for it if I new it was of better quality because I do like the design of it.
Powerskin: I just received it and I will test it and report back. First impressions is that it looks to be made well, but it's also the largest out of the 3
Ebay 3500mAh with Battery Cover: OK $8.99 I should stop right there, but I wont. So I have gone through 1 full cycle and it lasted 1day 7hours with moderate use. The next couple of charge cycles should even improve my time as the battery breaks in. So far no boot loops. I charged it with the car charger, the regular phone charger, a BlackBerry Charger, and now my Computer as I type this. Awesome, so awesome I ordered a second one just for the hell of it this morning (also I want to see if the second one has any issues). The great thing is it comes from NYC and I'm not to far from there so I get it quick.. The cover fits great as well, really no issues when it comes to that.

I was thinking about it, but right now I have no issues with charging it in my phone. Once I get the second battery I ordered I may get a charger...
Quick Update...
So far I'm very impressed with my 3500mAh extended battery. Its performing great. I'm charging it for the third time since I got it and have had no problems with boot loops or anything else. Its been lasting 2 full days with moderate to heavy usage.
The Powerskin I have used once and it only gave me a 40% increase in charge to my phone. I will test it some more, but in all reality I will probably return it because its very big in comparison to everything else that's out there and a 40% lift in battery for $70 is not good. Maybe it will perform better the second time around. We will see!

Ouch, thanks a lot for reporting on here. Just saved me $15. I think i will order the 8.99 bat the op has.
Quick question op, you never mentioned how your phone performed battery wise without any modification. I just want to know what to expect with the extended battery.

I'm on unnamed rom, I keep sync off unless I need it and on light days I'll have about 16-17 hours on battery and the phone will be at approx 70%. On heavy days and that's when I'm really trying to drain the battery I'll have the same amount of time on the battery but be down to about 5-6% battery. Heavy use is gaming upon gaming, internet, and video use. I have 2 of these batteries and I feel I get a slightly better performance out of the second one. I'm sure these are not a true 3500mAh but for the $8 and no boot loops its definitely worth the investment..
I have been debating about trying the Mugen 3200mAh, but the $98 price tag seems a little steep....

Is This Cheap Battery Any Good?

Hey,
I was trawling the internet for some cheap extended batteries. (my only other experience with them was the official HTC one for the HD2).
I heard someone saying that there is a good 3500mah one going on Amazon for £11. I'm presuming he meant this as it is the first result: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ecell-3500M...A9ZW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333452409&sr=8-1
After a quick search on ebay I found the same battery for £5.99! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3500mah-H...ltDomain_3&hash=item256aa12a8e#ht_2235wt_1024
But is it any good? Has anyone had any prior experience with unbranded batteries?
Thanks,
Louis
never go for it, no use, this are fake chinese battery, i got one for evo 4g. it was told to be 3500 but it was not even 1000 mah.

I got this on amazon and has been doing calibration with the battery monitor widget and its calibrating out to at least 2500mah. One peculiar thing is the first 40% or so drop by very fast, but then from 50-30 percent it last a lot longer, this has been notice by another poster also. the battery door is also decent, first generation soft touch rubber coating type material and not as ugly as the Seidio door

You buy many spare batteries for the amount an original battery costs. One spare battery made in China is about € 2,50.
What the real capacity is doesn't matter, as long it does it job as spare battery, you can always order a second one.
Also would it be better to buy the 3500mah and use that as primary. or buy something like this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/High-Qual...ultDomain_3&hash=item43ab4ef97d#ht_2079wt_805
And use it as a secondary battery? Which would provide the best overall battery life?

that is hard to say, because everybody usage pattern is different, but even if its only 2500mah it still comes to 50% more capacity then the stock 1700mah.
Last night charge cycle adjust it to about 2700 mah, I don't think its settle down yet, seem the more charge history the widget collect the more accurate the calibration should be.

Thats true. But, seriously i was not happy with the backup it provides. It was 50% of the oem.
as in for spare this is great. you can also try anker one, its great and cheap.
btw, it was about extended.

Guys dont trust some of these batteries. I bought a few of these similar type batteries cause they were really cheap 2 for $9.99 with charger. This has been discussed to death already. I bought another set of 3x + 1 charger. They didnt last long at all. I peeled the stickers on all of them at they were all had 1000mah stamped on it but the sticker says 1800mah. This has been pointed out here before too. It was a complete waste of time and a hassle trying to get my $ back. Seller didnt bother taking the batteries back. For the total of $20 I spent and headache I couldve just bought and anker or chichitec. Which I did. I bought 2x 1900mah anker + charger for 24.99 a while back and they have been great. Been using them for 10 months now and last slightly longer than stock. I will look for the thread so you guys can do some reading but it did get pretty lengthy. Spend the extra $5 or even $10 and dont go for these cheap batteries.
Here's the thread. Take time to read it and it may be worth your trouble later down the road.

Anyone has the Laza Zcell 5400 extended battery?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008OGEI3C/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A3MP7F92W1P0LP
It sounds better than other generic extended battery type's, just wondering if anyone actually used this.
Also how does the hump feel? Does it affect the tilt/balance of the phone when you use it in landscape mode for say, gaming? Also hump means no protective cover, just wondering if it is doable . . .
I LOVE the hump on the back of mine. Got "the other" brand of extended battery, but the covers look exactly a like.
It makes it easier to type on, easier to hold in landscape mode (hump acts like a handle of sorts), easier to hold between shoulder and ear, etc...just a much better experience overall. Even if the battery goes bust and I have to switch back to the stock one I will make it work with the hump.
As far as the battery in your link I don't know. The $10 ones on Tmart seem to be hit and miss. I got mine and so far it's not living up to its spec. Same as my old used stock battery if not a little worse.
Either way..its $10...I'm cheap as hell and broke as ****...even I spent the $10 to try one out! You can do it! Some one has to be the guinea pig here!
I've had the laza for about a week now. I can't say much for longevity, but here's what I can say.
I went from an average of about 3.25 hours of screen on time to consistently more than 6. I use my phone very heavily compared to most, and now, instead of having it on the charger several times throughout the day and getting home with 20% left (really sucks because the kids take over my TV til bedtime and it's all I've got lol) to never being on the charger and lasting pretty solid til bed time (1-3a).
The back is plastic, but sort of slightly rubbery and nice. The black one is really a dark blue, and after a few days, I warmed up to the look. I'm also going to order the mugen door only to try, cause I might like it better without the hump.
Battery percentage is inconsistent, as it'll go up and down a bit especially as it gets low.
All in all, works great, but I don't have any other big batteries to compare it too.

Sounds good! I am considering purchasing this battery as a backup to my 5200mah battery so I don't have to wait so long between charges. I just started using a 5200mah battery this week and I have one more day to do a full charge. Just out of curiosity when you fully charge your battery are you actually getting 5400mah or something close to that? I read from one of the reviews on Amazon that "You get 5400mah of real power". After my third charge with the 5200mah battery the capacity got better but is seems to still only top out at 4196mv. Though I am getting superb battery life and right now I am sitting on 30% with 23hrs on the battery I suspect it will improve over time.........
Actually, I'd guess a solid 5aH, as it seems to be 2 standard li-ion 2500mah cells sandwiched (as all the extended bats are). Any claims of 5400, 5200, etc are exaggerations (and with quality concerns, vastly, lol). Quality seems to be about OEM, though, judging by my bat life, and I get right around double the screen on time effectively. As for life increasing over time, not likely with lithium ion batteries. Really though, I'm pretty happy with it.

From btswein in the OTHER big battery thread:
"Voltage (mV) is NOT the same as milliamp hour (mAh). Voltage is the "push" behind the amps. MAh is how much capacity the battery has. All batteries for this phone must be 3.7v. This # will fluctuate a little depending on load(ie 4.1v), but the milliamp hours (mAh) will stay constant based on the batteries capacity (ie stock battery is 2500 mAh, this one is 5200)
Stock battery is 3.7v, 2500 mAh
Tmart battery is 3.7v, 5200 mAh
Anker battery is 3.7v, 2700 mAh
Think about it like your car. It's a 12v battery, you crank your car, it drops to 9v, your alternator starts charging the battery and it is 14v, but the capacity of that battery doesn't change."
Don't worry...I thought the same thing.
I still think my Tmart 5200mAh battery is wonky...once unplugged from the charge it'll drop to the mid 90% range in a matter of minutes. I can't officially say its BETTER than the stock battery, but it lasts me most of the day. Can't complain for $10!

Drop to mid 90% in a matter of minutes? That is wonky. Kinda like my generic 5000mah battery which does the same thing as well. I could leave that battery plugged to a/c for hours after reaching 100% and still drains fast after unplugging it.
Now at the time I was using the Rockstar Rom and I didn't have Battery Pro Widget settup correctly and I hadn't cleared my battery stats.
(And yes not to take away from it, the Rockstar Rom is great I just didn't have the latest rom installed without all the bugs worked out.)
I haven't had a chance to stress test that 5000mah battery with The Padawan Rom I am currently using as a daily driver. Perhaps the battery will kick out better result this time around.
My 5200mAh battery from Tmart drops to the mid-90% rather quickly too...like within a few minutes like yours.
I really don't know how to explain it. I feel my 5200mAh battery isn't really what it says either. I know personally that my battery performance isn't anywhere near what I'm reading from other peoples experiences.

Are you using any apps to calibrate your battery like:

Rattle around inside the case? No I can't say I've had an issue with the battery moving around as a matter of fact it's pretty snug against the battery door for a tight fit.

My fiancee is using the Laza for her skyrocket and is getting great battery life for how she uses it.
I on the other-hand went with a generic amazon battery as the door had the NFC antenna built in. There is a single 2 star review saying he couldn't get the door to work but i had only minor issues that were all my fault installing the door. the battery is lasting me diffidently twice as long on normal use for me in a day

Loving it. Getting between 6-8 hrs screen on, and I'm a heavy user. Currently using it with the mugen battery door (bought for $20 on amazon) because it fits the Hyperion extended battery case for the international note better.

Question about the hyperion case. The one I see on amazon indicates that the international one will NOT fit the AT&T galaxy note. Are you using an international note?

incidently, reporting in, I"m very pleased with the battery life. Right now I have 37% battery life after 1 day 9 hours, and 5 hours of screen time, 39 minutes of voice calls.

No, I have an i717 with a laza "5400mah" battery, mugen extended battery door, and Hyperion extended battery case (for int'l note).
It all fits, even the Hyperion case. Actually it'll fit over the bump covers fine except considerable airspace around the camera.

Best slim Note 3 extended battery ?

Anyone here can share your experience with a slim extended battery for note 3? I want a better capacity battery comparing to original without adding the bulk to my note 3.
Spare battery charging kit.
sent from my sm-9005.
You're not going to get a battery that has more mah AND fits under the stock battery door. Some batteries state a higher mah, but have the same or less than the stock battery.
I agree with @rbiter, spare Samsung battery with Samsung battery charger = awesome combo! That's what I have and love it! I also have a 12,000mah power bank with 2 usb ports, so it can charge 2 devices simultaneously. This combination gives me more than enough battery life to last me for days without needing AC or DC power!

I believe that the extended battery should be thicker than the original battery because the capacity is more than the original.
Originally, if the capacity is larger, the chips of the battery should be more.
Therefore, it's impossible that the extended battery is slim.
I have a 6400mah extended battery, but actually I don't like extended battery. thicker. uhhh
Ordered a MPJ 4500mAh slim battery on 03/10 and I am still waiting...

That whole thread is 'snake oil'.
Didn't want to ruin a perfectly good nonsense thread there, but this seems a more appropriate place to mention a few realities.
1) Can't magically make more mAh out of the same sized battery. Especially not that much more. That's pretty much like grabbing two of the exact same logs and declaring that under the same circumstances one burns for an hour and the other a day.
2) People in that thread are claiming it charges faster. No kidding. That's because it has less to charge.
3) You get what you pay for.

Review of the 2500 mAh Samsung Extended Battery Kit for the Alpha

I recently purchased the 2500 mAh Samsung Extended Battery kit for the Alpha from "Fonejoy". It only took one week to get, which is impressive being that it came all the way to PA from the UK. I actually didn't "need" the extended battery...reason being that I ran G Service Fix and found that I have 2 wake locks that were causing my poor battery life. I decided to keep it because I wanted the extra weight of the battery (I find the Alpha with the regular battery too light) and one can always you more battery life.
Long story short, I have to say that I'm extremely impressed with the extended battery and I highly recommend it. I was getting much improved battery performance after fixing the wake locks, but the battery performance of the extended battery kit far exceeded my expectations. Here are a list of the benefits (my "likes"):
1. The look and feel of the back battery cover is the same as the original cover that came with my phone. It's the same soft, "leatherette"...no idea what it's actually called. But, it's the same as the original. I like the fact that it just says "Samsung", rather than AT&T like my original cover.
2. I like the added weight of the battery. It adds just enough grams of weight to feel more substantial in your hand. It's a very slight weight difference, but just noticeable.
3. It barely adds bulk to the phone. It's just a few MM thicker. Proof of that is that it fits perfectly in the SPIGEN Neo-Hybrid case I also bought, which is intended to fit with the original battery.
4. Now for the main benefit, the extended battery time. Currently, I'm at 1 day and 9 hours with 2.5 hours of screen-on-time, and it's only down to 49%! That's exceptional performance. I will post an update when it's down to 10% to see how long it lasted. I'm very happy with the performance. And, with this battery, I reverted back to turn ON Bluetooth. Previously, I had turned it off to save battery life, but now I feel like I can actually use features of the phone that I'm intended to use.
Please let me know if you have any questions about it.

I too have this and also bought from the same seller. This extended OEM battery is truly amazing; Samsung should have just shipped the phone with it.

I completely agree. No idea why Samsung couldn't have shipped the phone with this battery, especially at the original price point of the phone.
Update: I'm now at 2 DAYS and 3 hours of SOT, and still have 30% battery left! I couldn't have come close to this before.
Please post some detailed pictures with the new battery fitted on the phone. Just to make a clear ideea of the thickness of the battery. Also, my Galaxy Alpha is sleek silver...have you seen extended battery pack with sleek silver cover? Thank you!

hi Ski_rush,
I think I have the same worries of battery you had before.
What are the two G Fix service that drained the battery? and what was the solution?
Thank you for the answer.

Hi, my battery drain before was cased by 2 "wakelocks". Before all this I had no idea what a "wakelock" was. The 2 that I had were actually caused by Google. Essentially, google play store and google services were stuck in an "on" cycle and just killing my battery really fast. It was like a percent every minute. As it turns out, "wake locks" are not uncommon.
I installed G Service Fix. It's a free app. I think there are several similar apps, but I used this one. All I can say is that the difference was immediate. Before doing the fix, the phone wouldn't even last a full work day. I was pissed. I felt I had to get the bigger battery. However, after the fix, it easily lasted over a 24-hour period. I really didn't need the bigger battery, but I had already ordered it from the UK. And, I knew that it would add a touch more weight to the phone, which I wanted.
Now that I have the bigger battery and the wake locks fixed, my phone lasted 2 days and still had over 30% left. The difference after fixing the wake locks was remarkable.
Just installed g fix, lets see if my sot will get bettrt
Im ok with the original one. Btw good review.
Nice post..now to find one. the Alpha is a lot more frugal than my old nexus by far, but the extra life would be nice

Does this need to root for the app to work?
Can anyone post a measurement of the thickness after installing the new battery? How much thicker does the phone get?
Thanks!
is it ok to use the extended battery without the backcover and just put the spigen case on it?
Interesting question. I haven't tried it but it might work fine. I would think the extended battery is thick enough to fit snuggly up against the Spigen case.
