Slightly odd one, I've got a new i9300 out of the box, firmware LG8/LH1 UK stock, and for some reason a swipe down from the top of the screen will open the notification area the first time after a boot, after that it doesn't open. I have to do a screen swipe to unlock, then pull down the notification bar. I've got another S3 I've been using for months that this works perfectly on, with the same firmware setup. Very puzzled as to why this doesn't work as it should on a stock device; any ideas, anyone seen it before?
Just for anyone else finding the same issue, it turns out that putting a SIM card in solved it. No SIM = No lockscreen notification swipe, weird and obscure bug...
Strange.... Does this mean wifi only device like Nexus7 cannot pull the notification when the screen is locked? Or maybe is just Touchwiz's bug?

No idea about the Nexus 7, but the lock screen notification swipe does work on the (WiFi-only) Transformer Infinity, so it's probably something to do with having an empty SIM slot rather than not having a cellular connection.
I had Xperia Arc S before this phone and i had CM11 on it. It had option in settings to make notification bar show regular notification when pulling left part of it and quick settings if I pull right part of it. On Z2 I noticed that I need to pull down and the click on quick settings every time, since it does not have this option. (And i haven't actually saved any click, it is same as i went to settings and turned wi-fi or data off)
Is there any possibility to turn this on on Xperia Z2?
I am using stock Kit Kat ROM v 4.4.4. (not rooted)
Thank you in advance!
Tap the notification bar on the right side & pull it down slightly & you should see the quick settings button get highlighted in white then continue to pull down & it will show the quick settings.
Edit on stock 4.4.4 you can swipe in the notification shade to switch between notifications & quick settings, just noticed that myself.
Get the xposed module xperia xposed kk
In system ui right side pull down has what you want.
Probably going to aosp since that modules quick settings selection is lacking, and it the extra tiles keep disappearing.
Gravity box only works on aosp

You can also use two fingers to swipe down to get to the quick settings.
Wow, thanks. Is there any thread where are all the tips about using this phone?
Has anyone noticed the application icons on the status bar are moving to the left and the native ones to the right are moving to the right towards the bezels. This happens often and normally readjust itself. It is most evident when using the phone and receive a call and the icons are showing behind the popup caller notification. Is there a fix for this to lock the status bar?

Can you present a screenshot because I do not understand what you mean?

I have the screenshot but i do not know how to send it. I thought it would have been a simple attach but it's not. If you can assist with that i would appreciate it.
I really think the Input Switcher Notification, when the keyboard is active, very anoying.
As I am using Android N, I can't use Xposed, hence no G4 Tweaksbox, where it was easy to disable the notification.
Do you guys know of any other way, to hide this notification without Xposed?

The notification only appears if you have more than one language or keyboard enabled, disable all other keyboards and languages apart from one and the notification won't appear.
Have tried this with Gboard and LG Keyboard and the same applies.
Hope this helps.
You can try to type somethnig and then in the notifications, when you see the icon, long press on the keyboard notif. It will give you an option of 'silent notification' so you can choose that one to hide it from the notif panel.

Already did that, but it does not change anything. Even when silenced it still apears as normal.
Hi
Can anyone recommend a Call Confirm app that works with the Nokia 8 / Nougat dialler? I'm looking for something that pops up a panel when you touch a tile in the dialler to confirm that you actually want to dial that number i.e. prevent mis-dials. I've used https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.nanabit.callconfirm&hl=en on my old phone for a couple of years but when I put it on the Nokia the panel doesn't pop up and it seems to be hidden behind the dialler. I've tried a couple of other apps from the AppStore but they seem to have the same problem of the pop-up being behind the dialer.
Any info appreciated.
Cheers Andy
Edit: Having revisited this it seems that the Nokia / Nougat dialler puts up a full screen panel when you tap a tile and the Call Confirm box is between this panel and the tile panel. With Marshmallow the CC box just appeared over the tiles.
Hi again; updating on my post above. I have now updated to Oreo and Call Confirm by Vlad Lee seems to work as it should.
