Yesterday my mobile battery was draining fast and ultimately it got switched off.
Today when went to charge it , it is not charging.
No download mode no recovery mode.
I charged my battery externally tried everything.
Changed battery, changed charger nothing helped.
Tried connecting to PC.
removed memory card.
So now my phone is completely dead:
-Dont turn on.
-Don't show 'charging' icon when plugged on power source.
-Don't eneter on download mode.
-Don't enter on restoration mode.
-Don't recognize on the PC.
-Don't recognize on Odin.
Is it a hard brick?

Maybe your USB charging port is damaged. It's highly unlikely your phone just 'decides' to hardbrick itself, unless you did a major system change just before.
Try to replace the charging port, not very hard.
Order a port from ebay and watch tutorials on youtube. That's how i did it, and charging works great.

I charged my battery externally, using Anker universal battery charger still no hope.So the there can not be a problem in USB charging port.
There may be a problem in battery pins on the mobile itself. I will check with the service center tomorrow.

Have tried both..nothing works.
I am also having the same problem from yesterday. Please help us
do you installed to you device Xrecovery and offLine charging components?
No. I didn't install.
hmm...
try to off your phone, and charging with adapter ?
Some important system files might have gone missing or corrupted I'm afraid.
Otherwise it's the battery itself giveway and died.
But still these situations are unlikely happen. So, try charge the battery on a different phone to narrow down the root cause.
Last night I was using my phone and turned it on sleep due to having <10% battery life left. I tried turning it back on am hour and a half later and it didn't so assumed it drained, so I threw it in the charger but the battery didn't turn on. I left it in the charger over night. I woke up and tried turning it on but it still didn't budge. I tried letting it charge through both my macbook, my chromebook, several different cables and outlets, all for around 10 minutes each. My phone still won't turn on.. Nothing happens when I try to boot into CWM (volume rocker and power button hold method) I now think it may be bricked and I need to get it back to a working condition soon...
My phone is the AT&T SGSII (i777) running MIUI 2.3.7 1.12.30 (newest version) under the Siyah 2.6.3 (also newest version)
Is there any way I can fix this?? I saw somethings about these 'jigs' but is there a way fix it without using a jig and only using a computer? Can someone tell me what could possibly be wrong?? Please help me!!
*PS my macbook can dualboot into windows 7, otherwise my phone wouldn't be rooted
Hmm, LPM might be broken in MIUI.
Try this, I saw one person indicate that it worked:
Enter download mode by holding VolUp + VolDn when inserting a USB cable from a PC.
DO NOT try to flash anything - just let it sit there for 5-10 minutes!
After that, hold Power for 10-15 seconds until the device resets.
Again, DO NOT try to flash anything!
The other option is to find a standalone charger.
And next time - if it's at 10%, put it on a charger!

All the SGS2 i777 phones come with a plugin wall charger, why not give that a try.......
If you cannot find the charger, you can buy one for less than 3 bucks including shipping on Amazon.com

Good Luck!
Something similar happened to me, where the battery drained so much that the phone wouldn't charge. When I plugged it into a computer/outlet, it just power cycled because as soon as you plug it in, the screen turns on (pretty stupid actually) and full brightness shows your battery "charging". Due to the phone not being able to directly pull power from the outlet (from what I can understand, if I plug in a charger and take the battery out, the phone shuts off) it can't charge fast enough, due to the screen and soft keys taking up the charge. I may be wrong, but this is what I think is happening.
Only way I could solve this was to plug the battery into my spare battery charger which came with my two spare batteries.
The thing is I can't put it into download mode or even recovery. Whenever I hold the volume buttons together when I plug it into my computer to access download mode, nothing happens and the screen remains blank and off. When I try doing the same thing and also hold the power button also to access Recovery mode, nothing happens, and the screen still is off. Every once in awhile when I try turning on the phone (which is plugged into an outlet) the 'battery charging' screen pops up for a split second and turns off. I have plugged it into Several different wall chargers (all that are Micro USB including the one the phone came with) along with several different Micro USB to USB cables to try to charge in the computer. It's definitely not the chargers nor the cables because they work with other devices. I think my phone is bricked... DX
why don't you buy another battery and see if that works if it doesn't just bring back the battery.....good luck

If the screen EVER turns on it's not bricked.
I suggest leaving it plugged in to a factory wall charger (not USB) overnight.
Worst case you may need a standalone charger to put some "juice" into the battery. I know Staples sells a universal one made by Lenmar, but it's really overpriced ($50!!!!)
I use this and i love it. It comes with an extra samsung battery too.

If anything, head to an AT&T store and pop the battery out of their test phone and put it into yours. See what happens, sounds like there's an issue with the charger or battery.

Thanks for all the help! I ended up going to the at&t store and they told me the battery was defective. The guy was super nice and even though he saw my phone was rooted and had a custom rom he just told me that I probably should unroot only for the warranty but gave me a new battery for free anyway and was very nice about it. I also bought a jig just incase anything goes wrong again. But seriously, thanks to all of you!!
Hi,
Yesterday when I took the phone off the charger normally, it started to indicate that it is being recharged, and a couple of seconds after it announces that it will no longer be charged and this same cycle continues and continues playing the annoying sound / message. I tried to fix it by removing the battery, but it did not help at all. I also tried to connect the phone to Kies but when Kies recognize it, the program crashes ...
So could someone please help me with this?

Did you try to blow some air in the usb port? As it may contain some dust that is leading your phone to notify you as if it is being charged...

Hey,
I have been actually been having the same problem, it could:
1. bad charging brick
2. battery issue
3. kernel issue - i dont think its this one any more because i am still getting it on the stock leaked firmware.
4. usb charging board
i have tried flashing different roms / kernels and doesnt seem to be a cache / file issue since it happening before the phone boots. (charging screen)
if possible try another s2's battery in your phone... power off the phone and see if it auto starts or goes into charging screen. I have a spare battery and i dont seem to get the issue on that one. (still testing)
I also noticed i really only get the issue when i leave the phone charging for the night then wakeup. pull the charging cable and the phone doesn't register the disconnect and says its still charging. if i connect the usb to a laptop and connect and disconnect, it registers instantly.
i have looked for bent pins / dust.. depending on the better testing goes it may be the charging board that could be the issue.
good luck

I agree with you about the usb port problem. I also had a problem with the usb port, the battery icon was blinking all the time and the phone had a huge battery drain issue. All I could do is returning to stock, unrooting and bringing the phone to service center for repair.

So, I ran my Razr Maxx down to 0% battery the other day. (I know - don't do that...)
After much reading, I tore the phone apart and was able to charge the battery by connecting the red/black wires from a USB cable directly to the +/- screws on the battery connection.
I can now boot all the way into my ROM, stock or Eclipse (SafeStrap slot 1). The battery status shows 'charging (AC)'. But the % remaining is slowly dropping. It was at 44% when I first booted. It's down to 41% now.
I powered off and let the charging screen come up - it shows 50%, but it's not gaining any charge. Last night, I left it plugged in all night (powered off) and the battery was dead by morning. I think I started with ~ 30% charge that time. So, even though this shows 50% now, I suspect it's still discharging.
I've tried different chargers, including the Motorola charger.
I tried making a factory cable, but that doesn't seem to charge the phone - it appears to just provide power while bypassing the battery.
Any ideas on other things I can try to get this to charge off a normal charger & cable? Thanks!!
I think USB port is broken. Check charging in BMM.

Well, I was able to connect via usb to my laptop and copy files of the internal sd. And the charging indicator shows that it is charging via usb/ac. Of course, it doesn't seem to actually be charging. Would that be possible if the usb port was broken?
Maybe something is wrong. To be 100% sure check it in BMM. Charge it 1hr and boot normally and check bat %

Thanks... I'll give it a try. Quick question - where should I grab BMM from? I want to make sure I have the latest version. (I've always used SafeStrap.) The thread I found for BMM looks like it hasn't been updated in a long time.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2005187
Okay... installed bmm from Google play...
When I first get into bmm, it shows 99% for the battery. After tapping around, it eventually updates and shows 13%. I powered off and waited for the charging screen, which shows 15% now.
I'm not familiar with bmm... is there any place aside from the status bar at the top that shows charging/battery status?
Is there any sort of battery calibration that might help?
Thanks...
Yes for the battery calibration it is in the recovery under wiping it says wipe battery stats. See if that helps

Tried wiping battery stats, and still no luck...
So, right now it appears that:
1) The battery will NOT charge via the usb port, but WILL charge when I apply +5v directly to the battery.
2) The usb port is functional for connecting to a computer and transferring files over a usb cable.
Something that occurred to me today is that, when the phone was at 1%, I plugged it into a friend's charger. She has a Samsung Galaxy S4 - I'm not 100% sure if it was the factory charger, but I think it was. Could the charger somehow have damaged the phone such that it won't charge over the usb port (but somehow leave the usb port functional?)
Could replacing the battery have any chance of success? (Seems unlikely, since it can take a charge directly.)
Is there any other debugging I can do to narrow down the problem? Or is it time to give up? Is the phone likely to be useful to anyone for parts?
Thanks everyone so far for the suggestions...

Hi,
My I9305 S3 Wont Turn on via the power button.
I connect it via USB and it loads the following in this order:
*Connect USB
1. Need to charge logo
[split second]
2. Battery charging logo
[1 second]
3. Reset
[repeat 1 2 3]
*photo of the battery icons displayed*
s2.postimg.org/iz6xu6ry1/phone.png
You cant get to the Android Settings
I got a phone tech to try another battery.
That didnt work.
He then took it apart and it said it isnt the power button.
He is unsure why.
It was flashed back to stock after using SentinelROM and every now and again it would restart by itself, now it wont turn on.
Any ideas?

I tried 3 different cables connected to PC, a different battery and it didnt work.
It wont turn on unless you have the charger in so im assuming its picking it up fine.
I made sure the micro USB port was clean.
I kept it on there for an hour once, boot looping, and yeah still didnt turn on.
Its got me stumped.

anyone else have any ideas?
Report your own post and ask a moderator to move it for you, the i9305 has a separate q&a forum.
If it won't boot into download mode then try a usb jig, but sounds like you need a new motherboard -take it to a different phone tech.
