Hello Developers. I am new to Rooting and I have successfully rooted my Samsung Galaxy S5 (AT&T) and have a question concerning other S5, S4, and S3 models. My S5 was resistant to all forms of Towelroot including modstrings. In order to root the device I had to flash the G900A_ND3_Stock_Kernel.tar.md5 ROM to the device and run towelroot. Then I flashed G900A_NG3_Stock_Kernel.tar.md5 which is the current ROM KitKat 4.4.2. My question is: Will the above Kernels function properly on S5 devices of any carrier or just AT&T S5's. A second question is will the kernels function on S4 and S3 models of any carrier as well or just S5.
Thank you for you time to answer these noobish questions. I apologize for an inconvenience in advance.

Hey guys I recently just flashed my Samsung galaxy s2 t989 (tmobile) to ICS from the ported version.
Now I'm wondering about custom Rom from this website.
1. Can I use any custom rom? Or does it have to be for my specific phone?
2. All galaxy s2 custom rom threads say it for samsung galaxy s2 but doesn't it matter if im using a samsung galaxy s2 t989? Just it just have to be the general device?
3. Could I have a link to where they post custom rom for my device?
Thanks you very much for the help ( in advanced). That all the question I have so far. Thank YOU!
Have to be for your specific phone.
T989 is a Galaxy S II with some design mods (the hardware is the same), so any S II ROM should work fine.
Take a look at S II Android Development forums.
thanks greatly appreciated!!!!!
I saw a post about the CyanogenMod app on the Play Store. In the article it says that you don't need a rooted device for this to work, and when it is put on your phone it will root it for you as well as installing the ROM itself. I was wondering if anybody has tried it on their Galaxy S4 running the latest MJ7 build (4.3). In the list of devices it states that the Galaxy S4 is supported, and it was posted yesterday so I wasn't sure if it was including all variants and builds.
Here's the link:

**I'm looking to root my phone but don't trust any of the vroot methods until they are confirmed safe. So if this has worked maybe this is the only safe method for now. Just a thought.

Probably won't, considering only models with old firmware can run AOSP.
Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active SGH-I537 (AT&T, 16 GB) and I am running stock firmware (JB 4.3). I literally got this phone yesterday, and I am already missing the root features I had on my previous phone. I have tried the geohot method, but it does not seem to work on android 4.3.
Hope you'll help me.
Thanks,
Jordan
I have still been unable to find another method of rooting this phone. Anyone else find out how?
