As stated in the title.... I hope I'm not asking too much of any of the great devs on our device but would it be possible to modify the 23b kernel to support Cloadyfa's international ROM?
Prior to jumping on the stock lollipop ROM I was running his 1.2 ROM and got rid of that nagging little "unknown SIM card" icon in the status bar... I would greatly appreciate it if someone could do this for me ( or community) or lead me in the proper forum??
Thanks in advanced!!!

the only way that would work is if cload's rom were stock verizon lollipop based, in which case, i dont understand why there would be a rom posted with no kernel.
maybe im just missing something, im not familiar with his rom.

Reason I even mentioned this was because with his kitkat (1.2 build), all that was needed for it to flash on the vs985 was a modified kernel. Otherwise it will enter a bootloop. I was hoping the same would apply with his lollipop build (2.1). I just can't stand the noncustomisability that pure, carrier stock has... I like having the circle battery mod with percentage and my time in the center of the status bar along with a nav bar height of 30px...
Lollipop is nice and smooth, I just want customisablity. Hopefully someone could chime in on this. I would be completely grateful for the work!

ahh, ok that seems logical.
maybe the best course of action would be to find out how they fixed the kk kernel. then propose it to a dev like, "this is how they fixed the kk kernel, can you please do it to the L kernel"
maybe more likely to help if they knew what to fix.
just a suggestion.
sorry, im unable to help myself.

Hello, are there any mods that will work for stock ICS, rooted, zipaligned, etc? I wasn't sure if you could use just simple mods that work with specific ROMs or not.
Honestly all I'm looking for is a mod to get rid of the cross-hairs on the status bar and a battery percentage mod.

Best bet is to try the mods section to see if anything was released for the rom your running or put a request in there.

None was posted. From the looks of it, it's all developer ROMs and not the stock ICS ROM. I'll put a request in there, thanks.
Hi i can't post on the dev thread so i have to do it here.
First i would like to thank every one of developers, and contributors who have answered and helped people like me.
Particular Thanks to Bajee for his great job.
I've installled this rom, coming from MIUI for 2days now. smooth and stable.
I've activated the navigation bar and want to put a contact in this bar with a picture.
First the picture wont appear and when i want to change it or disable the navigation bar, i have a FC.
There is a way to disable it or to change it ?
Thank you for any answer.

root box v3.3.1 based on android v4.2.1 is still under its earliy devlopment stage ma8, hence u can expect sum bugs which gets resolved after a cpl of updates though
so for now just reflash the rom again without any wipes to get rid of the Nav bar and wait for next updates (watch the thread posts for the same).

Hello Guys,
I am sorry if this is not the right place to post this request.
Btw, Can someone from the super-cool developers of 8552 please upload a Clean Rom?
Clean rom = non customised, non-rooted, no extra things installed Stock rom, but after removing all the samsung crap out of it.
None of the bloatwares.
No weather widget, no stock widget (who uses this sh#t anyways) nothing.
Just a plain, fast rom.
Thanks in advance..
PS: Btw, cyanogenmod project for our device is totally dead?
i am trying to compress the rom as possible. second thing if you want to move this thread just report moderator by caution triangle on top of your post.

I would not recommend Baidu as it's not the fastest Rom, yet the most beautiful Custom Rom for Quattro till date. Also a little less battery backup than stock as it has not power saving mode. Using greenify might solve this issue, but I forgot trying greenify when I was using it. I quit Baidu because of low earpiece volume duing call and same for speaker phone.
I would recommend Whacky Rom as it is based on latest stock Rom with tweaks to make it clean and beautiful yet quick enough to enjoy.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2687763
My overall experience is that no rom is better than the original Stock Rom (Ofcourse Rooted). :good: Odexed Rom are most stable ones. Stock Rom is most stable and good until unless you regularly clear the unnecessary cache files(maybe via Clean Master app or wipe cache). I am into Whacky Rom currently because it looks nearly stock and beautiful status bar it has. Transparent just like kitkat. I'll stick to it and soon make it customizable to my requirements.
I am facing several prolems in my XOLO A500s ROM (MTK 6572)
I have deodexed my stck rom + rooted but i am unable to implement the Gravity BOX fetures
Like: i can't get the data speed monitor mod,nor the clock mod and many more.
But there's custom rom which has this fuctionality to apply all the gravity box mods.
Is there something i need to change in my stock rom.
Please guide me through this.:highfive:
NOTE: I don't want to use the custom ROM because they have some problems in them some of them don't have gps on/off,another have the 1 MP camera insted of 5MP.
Another show internel memory as SD card and SD Card as internel.
The worst ROM problem can't turn on/off wifi (I managed to solve this on my own but still they have some other problems)

It is simple, nothing will work if the ROM is not close to AOSP.
In order to get GB to work, you will need to ditch your stock ROM and install a custom ROM which are extremely AOSP-based (CM won't get it work too).
If you insist, then you can do only nothing as the dev behind GB already stresses that GB are for AOSP ROMs and he will never ever interested on giving unsupported devices any support
Unless you're so desperate for it
You can learn compiling and decompiling so that you can grab some GB source code and make it work on your stock ROM.

That's not how custom ROM works. And what you have done is seriously wrong
Flashing a completely new ROM is better than the unsafe file overwriting inside /system/xxxxx . Though it might be working in your eyes, however I am pretty sure there are many errors in the logcat since you have mixed up your ROM with unfamiliar files.
Flash a custom ROM that is AOSP or code a new app that does what GB does for your device
Please take note of the above paragraph. That's the choices you have.
I was using GB before. Since I tried CM, and loved it, I have been known that GB won't be supported on CM. What I did was I completely abandon GB. I even have donated to such app. I feel sad, but yea life must go on

So for a while now, my i9100's physical navigation buttons don't work anymore (I have dropped it and the flex connector was cut), and instead of fixing it, I was thinking if maybe there's a way to add a navigation bar in the bottom of the screen, like flashing something that would resize the screen and add the nav bar in the bottom.
I've looked up online and I only found zip files for ICS and JB, which reminded me of how the CM ROMs for JB and KK had the "Navigation Bar" option in the Settings menu. How come that's not a thing in L and N?
I also tried SoftKey Enabler, no luck.
Android version: 6.0.1
CyanogenMod version: 13.0-20160930-NIGHTLY-i9100
Kernel version: 3.0.101-CM-g43c083a

Found this on the GB thread: - DO NOT USE WITH CUSTOM ROMS LIKE CM,AOSPA,ROOTBOX,AOKP,SLIM,CATACLYSM,OMNI AND THEIR OTHER CLONES... IT MAKES NO SENSE AND CAN CAUSE CONFLICTS AND UNEXPECTED BEHAVIOUR
And since I'm running a CM ROM, it may break it or something :/

All you have to do is add or edit a line in build.prop
Do a google search for:
"How to enable softkeys on android"
That will give you many links to do what I mentioned.

It does say that but i have been able to run gravitybox(MM)on cm13.0 without any problem till now and it works well, so its totally your decision whether you want to use it or not ignoring the warning as there may be a risk,i thought you should be aware of the possibility. All the best for any other workaround to get navigation bar :good:

Typically you want root to do it because you can do it directly from the device that way.
But there is the option of installing custom recovery without rooting and then using adb while in recovery to adb pull a copy of build.prop from /system, edit it then save it and adb push the edited build.prop back to /system, wipe cache while in recovery then reboot and you're good. On stock, without root, only custom recovery, it works on custom ROMs also.
Not all devices will have this option because some devices will need to unlock bootloader before they can flash custom recovery, some devices also have a secured kernel and will not allow adb to work unless you find an insecure kernel for the device. Also, not all devices have a custom recovery available to use for this method.
