Im Stuck in stock recovery with Power Button - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Heya,
Today my power buttont got stuck and it was always restarting i watched some videos and i decided to go on without a power button, it was working nice i turned my phone on with a little trick but now i wanted to replace my recovery with TWRP i used SkipSoft Android Toolkit and it said me that the recovery was flashed sucessfull... after that i booted into the recovery via adb (adb reboot recovery) and now i dont got TWRP i just see the Stock Recovery but now my problem is i cant select anyhting because my power button is not working and if i take out the battery -> plug it in + usb calbe it boots directly into the stock recovery...
Now my Question is how can i make the phone boot normal again?
And can i access my phone via my pc somehow via Fastboot or adb?
Thats how my recovery looks like:

You could try a usb jig to get into download mode then use volume buttons to reboot phone ( but I don't know if it would boot to recovery again) or you could try flashing another recovery twrp, philz etc while in download mode.... I'm not too sure if adb works in download mode but you could also try that.

[Q] P769 Stock Recovery Mode

Wondering if there is a stock recovery mode for the P769. I know there's a recovery partition but I'm not sure if you can get an HBoot menu. I held down Power and Volume Down from a powered off state, but it simply displayed the LG logo, vibrated, and then powered off. I've also read that there is a button combination to do a Hard Reset. Anyways, I'm wondering if doing this
Code:
adb reboot recovery
would get an HBoot menu, simply turn off, or do a hard reset. Also, if that command gets to HBoot then what button combination can you do to get to it?
Do u mean CWM recovery? Its here

I think he means the stock recovery that comes with the phone, as for the button combination, I dunno. holding the down button while powering on the phone always sent me into safe mode.
I can get into recovery mode by holding Vol Up + Home + Power
The screen say that this mode is use in LG service center to backup data. When phone connect to computer it show 2 removable drive but cannot access it. No use for me.
If you want to reboot your phone just hold power button for 10 seconds it'll shutdown. Then you can power on again.
Edit: Shutdown by holding power button 10 seconds not 10 minutes.

I wonder what we can do at this special menu.....
saturnianalien: The L9 devices do not have the standard recovery menu like the HTC devices do(This is the recovery menu that looks like CWM).

So what does the recovery partition in the L9 do? If I rebooted into recovery with adb, where would that get me?

I don't know what we can do in this stock recovery mode. I can pull files from some directory via adb pull, but cannot use adb shell.
After this I just reboot my phone with adb reboot
LG stock recovery is limit. Samsung stock recovery allow me to flash some zip.
This is the same thing I get....

[Q] I beseech thee, help me diagnose my YP-G70!

I've been searching XDA and Google for months now and I haven't found anyone else with this precise issue. I'm very tech savvy, but this is just beyond me! What say you? Will you help me in my quest to diagnose my device and possibly find a cure?
Listed below is what occurs when the USB Cable is connected, either via PC or the Wall.
While USB Cable is disconnected:
Pressing or holding any of the buttons, together or individually, does absolutely nothing. (But the battery can't be dead. I've had the thing on charge all night!)
When USB Cable is connected:
http://youtu.be/J8FJSo_S7cQ
Without pressing anything, the device powers on into download mode and continues to reboot itself every few minutes.
Holding the power button (or all buttons together) reboots it back into download mode to repeat what I just described above.
Pressing any/all buttons at this point does nothing.
When I disconnect the USB Cable from the device while in Download Mode, the device shuts off after about 20 seconds.
I have seen this on occasion, but nothing different happens:
(I'm aware this means forced download mode.)

I'm able to use Odin completely normally and flash anything successfully as well. Yet it just reboots back into download mode. And if I leave it alone while connected to my PC with Odin up, this is what it looks like:
I've "successfully" installed Stock ROM, Kernel and PIT files. Nothing changes! I've also tried one-click unsoftbricker, heimdal, calling it names, begging it to work. Am I crazy or...is this thing done for?
Have you tried repartitioning it?
By clicking that check box in Odin? Yes.
Ah, you must've hardbricked your Galaxy.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1496360 < See if anything in that topic helps you.
You need to flash a ROM that has boot loaders in it...
When you use the unbrickable resurector, it flashes a boot loader that always boots to download mode. From download mode, you can flash a FULL rom, that will replace the boot loader. Then it will boot normally.

Thanks, I've been suspecting hard brick. I've seen that thread before, it could really use some reorganizing. I can barely follow it.

That would make sense but which ROMs would those be?
This is a Russian ROM but it should have boot loaders.

Let me know how it goes...
Downloading now. I'll have to try it tomorrow on spare time. Really hoping this works. Thanks for giving me some hope, I really thought this thing was done for!
It's not hard bricked... that ROM will restore it. But after you flash that rom , you'll need to flash a different Rom for your region...

I never even heard of a "Full" ROM before. The problem I was having was apparently my bootloader - or lack-there-of.
You saved my Galaxy Player's life! Thank you very much!
I'm happy to say that this case is closed!
I am going to favorite this thread. You never know when you'll need some good info like this.
Ironically, my GP just managed to softbrick -_- I may be f'd.
Edit: Thankfully, I managed to fix it. Whew!

[Q] is it a hard brick?

I have got boot loop and can't open download mode or recovery mode either.
how to fix it?

First try to remove battery for 15min... then try to boot your phone into download mode...
if it still stuck in boot loop, you have to build a USB JIG... You can buy it from a phone service, it's about 10$ but it's possible to build it by yourself
You have to connect a 301 Kilo Ohm, to number 4 and 5 and connect it to your phone... and your phone boots into downloads mode automatically...

custom rom. actually it bricked twice,
first time is soft bricked because of CWM's 07 error.force go to recovery at that time but it works on usb plug. So I flash to cm11 form the computer.
there are lots of mainland's apps (maybe someone modify it)and keep fc all the google's app so i want to flash back to stock and find the official cm11(android 4.4.2) for s3.
I can't go the recovery or download mode MANUALLYwhen i flash that cm11 MANUALLY
it works on my computer recovery command when plug in.
then i used odin flash stock rom but it keeps error
finally. hard brick . Can't go into recovery or download mode
Keep loading on cm logo
go to recovery or download mode ,
the normal process is : samsung logo> recovery
now mine is : samsung logo> reboot > samsung logo > keep loading on cm logo
if I hold on two button : samsung logo> reboot > samsung logo> reboot > samsung logo> reboot > LOOP...........................................
Hope you guys understand my sucks English....
If you had an error during odin flash and volume down, home and power button combination won't get you to download mode then your bootloader is corrupt.
Bootloader on these phones is pretty robust and hard to break, which is good because it's the last hope.
Yes you now have a brick, only a jig or a new motherboard will cure it.

Start Error in Pixel Experince, by Boot.img flashed by Fastboot (phone almost brick).

Hello friends, I hope you are well. I am writing to everyone to see if anyone can help me with this big problem.
Yesterday install the Rom Pixel Experience, all good, all the steps to perfection and others, had microSD at that time so flash the boot.img by Fastboot. It seems to install the Boot.img in the Recovery TWRP partition, or something like that. Because I do not have the Recovery either, when I try to go to the recovery, the window "Bootloader Unlocked" appears, but it does not take me anywhere, only to the boot of the rom, it is something very strange and the truth scares me. I clarify: I can not access the Fastboot, nor the download mode, nor the recovery, because it does not.
There will be another way: ????
PLEASE IF SOMEONE CAN HELP ME, FIND ANOTHER METHOD TO ENTER THE FASTBOOT OR DOWNLOAD MODE, THE SOLUTION THAT WORKS WILL PAY ME WELL TO THE PROPONGA, PLEASE, I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE MY MOBILE, I BUY IT WITH A LOT OF EFFORT.
Last night I dawned on the boot logo, until it was completely downloaded and at this moment it continues to do so ... By GOD!
When trying to enter the Fastboot or download mode, it takes me here:

I can not access Fastboot, nor download mode, nor recovery, because it has disappeared. There will be another way to enter the Fastboot or download mode, because the phone actually woke up until I wake up today and was even charged. PLEASE.
Hey, sorry for your sad state. Following process worked for me when I got stuck yesterday like that.
1. Connect your phone to PC ( make sure adb/fast boot is setup)
2. Hard reboot your phone with power plus volume down button.
3. As soon as your phone turns off, press volume down only and keep it pressed till you enter fastboot.
4. After this phone should be recognised in PC and you should be able to boot in TWRP using fastboot.

Hope this works for you @Yeriorlando. @gimpy1 had a similar issue when installing Havoc ROM. Part of the problem seems to be when installing the custom kernel?
gimpy1 said:
It was operator error (generally is) on my part, I'm sure. The only thing I did different that I can remember is installing the 9.0 boot image in twrp differently. I installed it in the recovery option first (intentionally, should not have), instead of ticking only the boot choice. I did not untick the recovery option (should have never ticked it in the first place, but I was trying to correct a problem on the ROM, and misread a post).

IF you still can't after the suggestion at top, maybe @SGCMarkus or @runningnak3d have some tips?
Unless you have an H932, then if you get the error that: "Your device software can't be checked for corruption" then you have fastboot. It is literally impossible to have that message on a WTF rooted phone and NOT have working fastboot.
So, as @ZestyManu said -- make *sure* your phone is powered off. If you have to let, the battery die. Then hold vol down + plug in the USB cable (no need to touch the power button) and you will enter fastboot.

Thank you all. I have solved the problem in a super crazy way, to pure ADB, not fastboot .... Pure ****ing adb ... Hehehehe. Thanks to @ChazzMatt

Very likely you can't.
From your description, when you flashed it, A13 was updated only on one slot with the new bootloader, while the second slot is still stuck with the previous bootloader. During the flashing (how did you flash?), something went wrong, so the Pixel wanted to boot from the second slot with the "old" bootloader and the "Anti-Roll-Back" kicked in.
RMA and hopefully get an exchange
Cheers
Follow this steps and let us know if it worked for you
1. Unplug the cable from your phone
2. Press and hold for at least 15 seconds the power button then release
3. Connect a cable from your pc to your phone but you need to press volume up and hold it until you connect the cable, once connected release the button your phone shall turn on fastboot mode, it it worked just proceeded and flash a13 again, just download it from it's official source
14. Profit
