Superuser cannot root your phone. If you installed Cyangenmod, then that means that you already rooted your phone.
Install SuperSU from the Play Store and check if it works.

SuperSU works for kitkat roms, I have it for the S4.
Go to recovery mode and clear the cache and the dalvik cache.
If that doesn't work, re install the rom as a last resort.

Let's re root it then.
Try this method, if that doesn't work try this one.
If neither work, try this as a last resort.
The first method and the second method don't need a computer. Just simply install the apk.
Third method is going to require a computer, specifically a windows machine.

Ok, updated my phone to the first nightly build on cm11, everything is working fine except for the fact that I cant modify system apps or files although im rooted.
Eg. I cant replace bootanimation.zip
Eg.2 I cant uninstall a system app
Is this a problem with the rom or what?!

What are you using to remove apps ???and how .
Are you just trying to remove the apk in a root explorer? If so does /system have the correct permissions?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
I tried to use the following apps from the play store:
1.Root app delete
2.Clean master
Both failed to work as root app delete says that I am not rooted, and clean master fails to uninstall a system app although I granted it root permission.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
And also I forgot to mention that root browser does not let me delete system apps despite the fact that I granted it root permission. I tried solving this issue by reinstalling busy box but that did not work either.
Sorry if I'm posting this on the wrong form, I'm new here

Rom toolbox also fails to remove system apps - however simply deleting them with root explorer works fine (after which, I use SD maid to clear up any corpses).

Sent from my GT-I9152 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Open SuperSU, go to settings and scroll down. You'll find "Full unroot". Open and confirm...Thats it.
After that uninstall app as usual
I tried that but the supersu icon is still there , its not getting uninstalled !! What to do ??

Make sure you're defiantly unrooted first. Download Root Checker HERE
If you are, press Menu, Settings, More (tab), Application manager, (scroll to app), Force stop, Clear cache, Clear data, Uninstall.
artnada , I tried that but there is no uninstall option . All that is there is enable/disable option.
This is the screenshot of the result I got from Root checker Pro :
Please help friends !!

If you found still this supersu icon problem then i will talk you without root access you can't change files in System ROM, so it will remain there even after factory reset.
If you are worrying about re root, then just flash Stock ROM with Odin, then supersu will get removed.
Thanks for all the help guys...I finally removed the supersu app using root explorer app.
I don't know how my phone became unrooted , can anyone tell me how to change it back to its former condition that is before it was rooted . I have got the nandroid TWRP backup of my stock rom !!

i am exploring ways to revert back to its former state too. But unrooting does not seem a problem solver. How can i revert the state of the phone to Official, so that it can be updated?

Find and flash through Odin stock firmware for your model OR try to recover your firmware by Kies
Firmware update through Kies isn't really helpful. A number of times , it won't work well !!

I recommend you to use TWRP recovery, because it has more options.
If you have root access on your phone you could use app called Flashify from Playstore.
When you download Flashify, put TWRP image on you sdcard and open and click on flash Recovery image option in Flashify. When you click that find twrp image on your sd card and select it.
Thats it.
Link for TWRP,click here.
I tried one app like that and i ended up with system wipe.

This means you did not have unlocked boot loader. Without boot loader unlock you can't install custom recovery or custom ROM. There is a recovery for locked boot loader but it only allowed to install Roms based off of your stock ROM. For anything else you need to unlock your boot loader first
hello im new in here.. I buy today the kindle fire hdx 7 from a radioshack store that was closing in 80 bucks i want to root it and istall a android rom because i dont like the amazon one ..but this tablet is old and come with this version 13.3.0.2 and have an update ready to 13.3.2.5 im scare to update but i cant find anything to root my version any help ?
Try to remove the update before it installs by erasing and registering the kindle. Then, read the twrp thread and other threads in the dev section.

Usually. You can roll back if you need, but not if it updates much further.

Here you go. Start here. You will probably need to roll back first. All of this is risky. I suggest reading a lot before doing anything rash. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2986004

You are still okay, but either turn off WiFi or disable updates now. Use towelroot and the HDX toolkit to do so. If you leave it on WiFi much longer, you will not be able to replace the native is with an alternative build.

i root the hdx and have SuperSU install and disable the ota from the toolkit .. but when I try to use safetrap does not work what could it be I still in the same version
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
I am not sure. I know little about safestrap. But, be careful. I do know people who have bricked devices troubleshooting safestrap. You can still use an alternate recovery, and I recommend that highly
