Is CyanogenMod for Z3 tablet device using Sony's interface/widgets just with CM options or does it use its own? If the second, is there a way to install CM and keep Sony's look? I could not find information about it CM site is not clear to look at.

CyanogenMod doesn't use any of the Sony GUI stuff. It looks identical to stock Android like you would get on a Nexus device. If you like the widgets etc you may want to stick with the stock Sony ROM. Hopefully it wont be too long until Sony release Lollipop for our devices. I'm personally going to wait until then if I don't like what Sony have done I'll switch to CyanogenMod.
Please bew aware CyanogenMod may not be as stable or perform as well as the stock ROM.

This is a call out to all existing and future developers of Xperia MDPI Devices.
For about a month now there is an app called Update Me Smartphone, which basically gives OTA update functionality for our Custom Roms.
From 01/05/2012 the developer of this app has given it a very interesting feature. You can view all Roms compatible with the Update Me Smartphone application. Even though you get a list a bunch of irrelevant devices, I suppose if we all "help" him with our suggestions he can make an application that will be on par with the Rom Manager app for devices that are fully supported by CWM.
To make this as simple as possible....
User "A" wants to download a new Rom for his Xperia MDPI Device. He has already downloaded and flashed a custom kernel (whether this is a Stock Kernel, or a CM kernel), then proceeds to download the app, install it and browse any compatible Rom's with his device... From then on his device will stay updated, through the Update Me application providing OTA updates of the Rom he has installed. If he wished to download another rom (compatible with the kernel he has - there are 3 Different Kernels AFAIK: GB CM, ICS CM, GB-ICS Stock Sony Kernel) he will just proceed to download the latest version of the rom he has selected straight to his device. No need to download to your computer, then connect the device, then copy it, then flash it. If you have the compatible kernel already installed, then its easy as pie.
Please let me know of your thoughts on this...

Edit 2: Apart from Rom's we can also implement various mods, tweaks, fixes, etc for our devices. Even though that would be extremely hard, due to the fact that all these files need to be stored in a direct download location like Dropbox, its is a viable option.

Some modification: In GB we have 3 different kernel (Stock Based, CM Based, MIUI Based [not released yet]). In ICS we don't have Stock based to Xperia MDPI, because Sony don't released yet the stock for us. So we have CM9 based, AOSP based (it's work with CM9 ROMs btw), and ported Stock based.
Some another notice: I saw a lot of thread (not only in this forum), but sooo many people trying to make ROMs. It's not a problem, but some guy don't know some full minimum things... So who will help this guys to add this app to their ROMs?
Are you using a different Kernel for the Sony ICS rom port? I mean the Ramdisk is the same size and you're using the same zImage from a stock GB rom correct?
Well nobody is forced to do this. All we have to do is provide the app developer a link with the update_me_check.xml so that he will sort of add a link for that in the application.
By the way, i now got my goo.im account, and this have own OTA app. I will try it, and I will report.
But I know, this is not only OTA app... Hmm... I need to think in it

I also read quite a lot of topics, but I don't respond in every topic.
CyanogenMod 10.2 Nightlies brings android 4.3 jelly bean to Xperia Z Ultra. Download the CyanogenMod 10.2 Nightlies package for Xperia Z Ultra from the official CyanogenMod page. It is still unstable release, so there must be a lot bugs in this.
Post here your findings and bugs so we can help each other to work them out.

CM has little if anything to offer except a list of things that do not work and Android 4.3 (which is a moderate incremental step over the Android 4.2.2 Sony is using.) Even when CM goes to Android 4.4 some of the best features of 4.4 can be installed now with the current Sony software (launcher and hangouts.) What's the point of flashing a broken OS? Its not faster. Any customization can be done by rooting and installing recovery. You can hide apps with almost any launcher and do not even need root. A lot of features do not work. CM has lost any edge it had years ago when it improved speed, made customization possible, and closely recreated a pure Android experience. Flashing CM is as useless as it gets. Times have changed, the manufacturers have caught up with users.

So I'm very new to rooting devices. I have a t mobile galaxy s5, and I want to run vanilla android on it. Preferably, I would also like to be able to download the developer version of android L, and then the full version when it releases straight from google. I have a guide to auto root this phone. I want to be able to back it up so I can reload touchwiz if something goes wrong. I may have to turn this phone into t mobile at some point, so this is crucial. I also would like to carry over my phones contacts with me into the vanilla build. Can anyone assist me? Sorry for my ignorance; I'm trying to learn. Thanks for your time.
I think you're out of your league.. for this to happen, you would need to get the Google source for android l then you would need the kernel source for android l for our devices (which doesn't exist, yet). I think if you really want android l you would need a Google device. You could also wait till cyanogen comes out with an android l version.

Just yesterday I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab E (SM-T560) and immediately I rooted it. The device is running Android 4.4.4 KitKat. While I think for the price this tablet is fantastic, I want Marshmallow on this device. I don't believe hardware is a limiting factor here based on the research I did, although I am very aware that the tablet is not a flagship by any means. I got the tablet as a device to mess around with, but after hours of searching I cannot find any custom ROMs for this device. Cyanogenmod don't even support this device. This came as a huge surprise to me as this tablet is pretty popular and from 2015. I kept on looking and apparently a lot of people had trouble rooting this device, so I'm wondering if this is why there has not yet been any ROMs released for the device. The device is just about usable in this state, but coming from someone with three phones all running Android 6.0 and above (two of those devices being Nexuses) using KitKat and moreover KitKat skinned with TouchWiz is a lot to get used to.
Does anyone know of any custom ROMs for the SM-T560? Maybe I'm just blind and missed something. If there aren't any ROMs, would building a version of Cyanogenmod 13 be the best option? Also, I am very curious: Why have we not yet seen any ROMs? Popularity isn't an issue, neither is specs, the rooting process was painless for a newbie like me, so I'm really interested to know.

I have a Nexus 6 running Android N developer build NPD90G. I really want to go over to Cyanogenmod because of the 13.1 Mod Ready update, which integrates Cortana, Skype, etc. However, all the builds are 13.0, not 13.1. This made me think that I cannot install the mods, but on the CM website it says that mods are supported on phones running CM13 and up. Does this mean that I can install the mods on my phone if I go over to CM? And if so, will my phone even support them? I've tried to find an answer to this but I couldn't find one anywhere.
UPDATE: I realized that the mods are only in Cyanogen OS, not CM. But is there a way to still get that deep integration of mods in CM itself? Sry I'm a noob...
