My bud left his att work phone on his car and backed over it. So he had his tmobile m7 laying around. Paid 10 dollars for a unlock code. Got the code emailed and his att Sim card is working fine for phone calls but he isn't getting any data. Is there something he needs to do or is it like a waiting thing
So his t mobile m7 is now working with his att Sim card for calls and not Internet.

He needs to check the APN settings to ensure they are setup for ATT and not T-Mobile.

Hello,
I have a few phone numbers and am planning on setting up Straight Talk for my main # but would also like to use Tmobile for my vanity #. Does anyone know the APN / other settings in order to set this up on Tmobile? I just picked up a Tmo sim card and paid for the $30 plan.
Also, is there a way to get 3G/4G service? I understand w/Tmo that the AT&T Note will only be able to access the 2G service (bummer). Are there any other issues in setting this up to run both TMO and Straight Talk? Do I have to change APN or other settings each time I swap my sim cards?
Thank you for your help
first thing is your phone unlock? If it is you don't need to enter the apn, all you have to to is put your sim in the phone will recognize the right apn.

Thanks! I forgot to mention that I do need to unlock. I see that there are several outfits providing this service ranging from $8 to $80. Is there any one you'd recommend?

I got an ATT Note from my dad who got it from a guy off Craigslist that was using it with tmobile. I'm now trying to make it work for my girlfriends tmobile line. I flash the modems and insert her sim card but it keeps saying "insert SIM card to access network services". I assume it SIM unlocked. How can I check and make sure it is?
The SIM card is on correctly.
If its sim unlocked you dont need the tmobile radios for it to work with a tmobile line you only need to flash the radio for 3g and 4g to work. I would put in a at&t sim and see that it reads that first. If its not unlocked when you put another carriers sim in it will ask you to enter the network code. Turn the phone off and take the battery out before changing sims and make sure the connectors are not damaged that read the sim.

I would also try going into settings/mobile networks/access point names and let it search for the network. This can take a while sometimes.

I don't think its damaged. It was working 3 hours ago on my dads ATT line. My GF even went to Tmobile to get a new sim and now dice. I'll have to look into it.
Check the settings under the network options and give it some time. It took mine almost 3 minutes to pick up the network where I live.

Thanks for the help. I installed the stock rom with the ICS radio and it worked. I was very surprised. The GF is happy.
Nice to hear. Gotta keep the women happy!

just turn it on through straight talk they sell sims compatible for tmobile phones so you will still get 4g
If you are using Tmobile service we can just swap the sim card no problem

Straight talk? How do I do that? I thought the one didn't support wimax just 3g & LTE.

I don't think its that easy to swap sims, Idk trying to get it on the prepaid service but t mobile customer service told me they don't have micro sims for it that's why I wanted to know if I could cut the sim down like how prior did iPhones.

Yes, you can cut a standard SIM. I did just that. I am using the One with Tmos $30 pre paid plan.
Google SIM card template.
T-Mobile refused to sell me a micro sim unless I gt on a post paid plan, so I bought a T-Mobile SIM kit at Best Buy.

It it that easy. Just walk into the store with your sim card and ask them to give you a micro sim. Or do what I did, fail at cutting it and ask for a replacement.

Yes, cutting it should be fine. I did it for an unlocked AT&T iPhone 4 I used on T-Mobile that I used while saving up for a One. Just make sure you use a sharp knife and have some sharp scissors for adjustments.
I bought it. Has good imei. But for some reason I cant get the straight talk to work at atll
everytime I try to make a call it says were sorry but this phone has been blocked from network use.
I can use att sim and it works fine. Please help!!!!. Sincerely phoneless since friday lol
I unlocked with cellunlocker.net
Is your APN configured correctly?

IMEI ??
You'll have to have it unlocked first, uf you've already done that, then redo it because it is letting you know that is network restricted

How many spend you for active "Bring Your Own Phone(BYOP) CDMA Activation Kit " ?
I don't think your imei is good after all. I got that same message on a note 2 I bought. The man I got it from had me call att to verify the imei, so I'd buy it, then reported it stolen 2 days later. Boom, no connectivity. Device has been blocked from network use

Not any but most. Cricket Wireless for example will not work. I don't have a list unfortunately.
I believe the deciding factor has to do with if the carrier uses the AT&T network or their own. A carrier can still use AT&T towers without actually using the AT&T network. It's confusing ...

Can you explain the steps? Did you have to register your Net10 SIM card first?
I used to use NET10, but the line it's not active any more. However, when I put the SIM into my phone, AT&T network is reported and only emergency calls are allowed. I checked the update through a WiFi and could download and run the update. Thereafter I can use it with T-Mobile and Cricket. Though Cricket uses AT&T network, you cannot get the update through them. The network is reported as cricket instead of AT&T, maybe that's why.
