What do you mean by "original stock rom?". Are you talking about Gingerbread or do you simply want to flash an i9100 rom?

I mean 4.1.2 stock rom of 19100 by Samsung

So a few questions:
- Are you currently rooted, and if so what firmware (rom) are you running?
- Why do you want a stock rom? This device has two 4.1.2 custom Samsung roms that are equal to/better than any i9100 rom!
I see in another thread you said you were on Neatrom, which is 4.1.2, and that you were having problems accessing recovery after updating SuperSU; are you still having those issues or are you able to get into recovery now? It's important to know, as it will change how you install the rom you're wanting. .

choose the correct 4.0.3 stock rom and flash the same thro Odin
Flash through odin. I doesn't matter whether it is Gingerbread or ICS.
But do not use CWM to wipe. You will brick it.
Good luck!

I flashed Siyah over the stock kernel. Would it be safe to wipe in CWM now (using 4.0.4, XXLQ6)

Confusion in Custom ROM selection

Problem SOLVED
I have just rooted my Galaxy S2 and flashed it with a custom rom.
My original phone info was
PDA: I9100XWLP3
PHONE: 19100O2ULP4
CSC I9100O2ULPR
Now after custom Rom when i check from settings
Baseband I9100XXLPR
KERNEL 3.0.15-SIYAH
BUILD NO IML74K.XWLP3
My questions are
1.what options I have in case I want to try other roms out there. Can I install Rom for 4.0.4...( I know thats dumb to ask. Its not possible just bear with me)
2. In case I can only Install 4.0.3 based Roms , has it to be LPR- LP3 strictly. or I can install other versions like Omega ROM XWLPG Android 4.03....LINK
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1489197..
3.Finally if I have to be very specific in choosing Roms what option do I have . I haven't came across almost any roms supporting LP3.
Help will be much appreciated
Regards

1. Yes, you can. Install a 4.0.4 rom from CWM (if custom rom - zip file) or from ODIN (if stock rom - tar file)
2. You are not limited to 4.0.3 however if you like to stay on that you can flash any version including XWLPG (choose most suitable for).
3. You don't have to be specific.
There are however some basic rules to be followed:
- if you switch between different roms - full wipe is recommended to avoid any freezes, FCs etc
- if you move from 4.0.3 to stock 4.0.4 don't wipe anything just after flashing 4.0.4 rom due to possible brick bug. Imediately after flashing 4.0.4 stock rom flash one of the safe kernels (wihout wipes before) - eg. PhillZ-CWM6, Siyah, Dorimanx etc.

First of all: it's 'rooted', not 'rotted'
Some roms come with a new modem, so if you want to change it, you can flash it through Recovery. Some others don't, but you can check it of course in Settings -> About phone.
About your request for a JB rom: even if you're from NZ, you still have to try them for yourself to see which rom perfectly matches your preferences.

thanx

Don't use this kernel on aosp based roms like CyanogenMod!!!"

ICS is not really a very good rom and I would recommend KK or JB
you should be good if you go from a GB firmware to a JB one
or if u want you could flash a custom kernel in odin and then flash a KK ROM like CM11 or Slimkat

It`s very safe to flash Jellybean or Kitkat. Download the latest jellybean from sammobile and flash it with odin.. Look around for tutorials how to. Note that you will lose all your data, but your phone will 100% work. That brickbug was only on 4.0.4 version.. To be sure and safe flash jellybean and after that flash PhilZ-cwm6 - Safe Stock Based Kernel. If you need more info, i`ll help you. Cheers!:good:
